i am shocked they have stayed together this long – good for them

    • LillyfromLillooet says:

It was rocky for them, at least on the gossip front, a few years back, but they seem to have righted the ship. Happy anniversary!

    • minx says:

I think they’ve stayed together for their kids and because he does what he wants and she’s accepted it. He looks happy after all these years, she looks resigned.

    • Dierski says:

Me too ElleV. My first thought reading that headline was “Wow, who would have thought?..”

ETA: I can’t get enough of their matching outfits in those pics, esp the purple omg

  2. Aphra says:

OK those home videos of the Becks are pretty cute. They are nice parents.

I remember reading the name of Cary Stayner as a suspect in the case of a missing girl 20 years ago. And the name Stayner rang a bell… then it hit me, he was Steven Stayner’s brother!

    • Ines says:

Yeah, it’s crazy, I listened to a podcast about this recently.

    • Bettyrose says:

Yeah it was a disturbing story on so many levels … I don’t think California has forgotten about it at all (at least if you grew up in the “I know my first name is Steven” era).

      • Rapunzel says:

I’m from Merced, and we have definitely not forgotten Cary or Steven Stayner, or the Yosemite killings.

    • BeanieBean says:

I remember it quite well, as I lived and worked very near Yosemite National Park. It was horrifying.

    • The Recluse says:

I remember the Steven TV movie, because I was still a kid myself when he was abducted, so I have no memory of that. I vaguely remembered hearing about the first disappearances/murders later, but never heard the final outcome.

  4. h-barista says:

Not sure what the Starcasm piece is saying: that Cary Staynor had a traumatic childhood and so should have been found not guilty by reason of insanity? But he also had fantasies of killing women “since he was a young child, long before his brother Steven was kidnapped.”

The only obvious conclusion is that fantasies about femicide as well as pedophilia should be taken more seriously as threats, together with the cultures that normalize them.

I don’t understand how speed eating or over eating is a sport? But it’s fascinating all the different things people find to compete about.

  6. Miranda says:

Oh Lord, the coordinating purple! Are we sure that it’s been 22 years since they got married, or does this just mark 22 years since their junior prom?

  7. Holland S says:

I’ve heard about them for so long that I’m surprised that it’s only 22 years. Feels like 30.

  8. Rose says:

I’m just glad Netflix left Derry Girls alone.

    • (TheOG) Jan90067 says:

I can’t WAIT to see the next series of Derry Girls!!

    • DiegoInSF says:

I think it’s because it’s not a Netflix original, it airs on Channel 4 in the Uk (and it’s huge so don’t think it’ll be cancelled anytime soon).
I still haven’t forgiven Netflix for cancelling Santa Clarita Diet.

      • original_kellybean says:

I love Derry Girls and can’t wait for the next season. It takes so long between seasons though.

And I am with you DiegoInSF – I wish they had at least given Santa Clarita Diet another season – just to have a proper ending.

  9. Lizzie says:

I will always love Victoria with short hair.

  10. Doodle says:

I can’t help but feel terrible for Mrs. Stayner. That is not the life you imagine when you give birth to your perfect children – to have one go missing for years and the other grow up to be a killer. I feel awful for her.

  11. Liz version 700 says:

That image of Zuck on his silly air sailer good lord

  12. Lucy says:

Italian pop icon Raffaella Carrá has passed away today. She was 78 years old. No comment on what caused her death.

  13. Snappyfish says:

I adore Alicia (& her glorious Husband) so does anyone know if the rumors are true & they had a baby? How glorious will this child be?

  14. jferber says:

Today is my wedding anniversary, too. 23 years. All the best to the Beckhams.
