Tom Cruise & Hayley Atwell attended the Wimbledon women’s final together

Tom Cruise, Hayley Atwell and Pom Klementieff make an appearance together at Wimbledon in London, UK

I watched the Wimbledon women’s final live on ESPN, with Chris Fowler and Chris Evert doing commentary. In between points, the cameras panned the crowd and Evert exclaimed, “Wait is that Tom Cruise?!” It was. Tom Cruise was seated in the regular peasant seats – as opposed to the Royal Box – happily enjoying the women’s final (which was a great match). He arrived at Wimbledon with his Mission: Impossible 7 costars, Hayley Atwell and Pom Klementieff (a French actress).

There were some rumors or rumor-mongering that perhaps Tom and Hayley are happening. They seemed to be enjoying themselves, for what it’s worth. But Pom was the third wheel? Or were they a threesome so it would just look like Tom took some work friends out to watch tennis? And yes, they are still filming MI7. Apparently, the production was shut down because everybody kept getting Covid, but I’m almost positive that they’re still filming that stupid movie in the UK. What’s funny is that Wimbledon attendees have to wear masks when they’re walking around the grounds, but inside the Center Court stadium, no one has to wear masks. Still, I haven’t heard anything about Wimbledon being a super-spreader site (I think people have to show proof of vaccination to enter).

One of the funniest/dumbest parts about Tom’s presence there was that once people realized he was sitting among the peasants, everyone wanted a photo with him. During Ash Barty and Karolina Pliskova’s changeovers, Tom was standing up to pose for photos for the people seated around him. Plus, all of the Wimbledon social media accounts were making “mission impossible” jokes during the tennis match. Maybe this was some kind of promotional thing. Weird, but it wouldn’t surprise me.

  1. CherHorowitz says:

They are absolutely still filming MI7 and not even about to be finished either.

    • (TheOG) Jan90067 says:

This shoot has been longer than an elephant pregnancy!

Actually feels like this particular installment of the movie has been filming for 5 yrs!

    • CourtneyB says:

I think they’re filming two back to back? Even still, it’s been a gazillion years.

      • CherHorowitz says:

They are filming two back to back – they were supposed to start the second in May!

  2. Merricat says:

Tom Cruise makes me laugh. He always looks like he’s campaigning for Mayor.

  3. Ela says:

I feel like the gentleman in the last pic, next to Hayley Atwell, where Tom is standing and waving to someone. Lol
Someone get me out of here!

I loved Hayley Atwell in the Agent Carter series. She just seems effortlessly cool. And Tom Cruise, most decidedly is not.

  4. BrainFog says:

    Definitely seems promotional.

  5. Calibration says:

I feel like the worst person in the world because I don’t hate Tom. I’m glad he was at the women’s match and so obviously happy to be there. Unlike TOB. who grimaced. Meanwhile, Ash was brilliant and I’m so happy for her. I have friends who are also Ngaragu people (tribe) and it’s just amazing. Three Australian women have won Wimbledon and two are of aboriginal descent. Not a small things.

    • Robyn says:

Genuinely curious as to how you are able to set aside his complicity in the human rights abuses of Scientology. I truly do not understand how this man still has a career…it doesn’t seem to touch him.

      • (TheOG) Jan90067 says:

Not just that, as horrific as it is, but the fact that his wife had to act like a stealth Ninja to ESCAPE him with her child (STILL not convinced HE is the father; Mimi Kennedy swore he was infertile. Talk was Tommy Davis (Siri looks *just* like him) or Tom’s cousin could’ve been the donor, but anyway!!).

When you combine all of his awfulness btwn. his behaviors and Scientology connection…blech! Don’t know how so many still like this person (or Woody Allen, or Polanski, or Spacey, or… well, any of those men!)

      • bettyrose says:

I would never in my life defend this horrible man, but Calibration wasn’t defending him either and it’s a good point about him being there smiling and truly supporting the athletes. But that one nice thing said, let’s get back to mercilessly mocking him.

      • Robyn says:

Exactly, @The OG Jan. It’s nice that a cult leader is smiling at athletes? Okay…sure.

      • Midge says:

Agree Robyn. Cruise is a high-ranking member of a dangerous cult. I’ll never understand how people excuse or compartmentalize this fact.

      • Sally says:

@theog OMG I had to google that Davis guy and you’re spot on! She looks just like him!

      • Lucky Charm says:

@ (TheOG) Jan90067 – Do you mean Mimi Rogers? I LOL’d at the thought of Mimi Kennedy saying that to the group around the table on the tv show Mom. And the best part is, I can absolutely see her character saying that in response to something one of the other women said! 🙂

      • (TheOG) Jan90067 says:

@Lucky, yes… omg.. how did I make that mistake lolol. Too early and not enough coffee I think. Thanks for catching that!

      • olliesmom says:

And the fact that his ex wife, a fairly well-know actress in her own right, had to use burner phones in the middle of the night to leave him. That’s how powerful and scary those people are. She didn’t even feel safe even though many people would notice that she had just disappeared suddenly and wonder why and point the finger right at them.

And didn’t everyone always say that Suri looked so much like Chris Klein?

    • observer says:

so let us find some humor in a cult figurehead smiling at athletes…sometimes the way to deal with the awfulness of other humans is to get dark about them, but make it funny

      • Robyn says:

The excuses folks make never cease to amaze me. He’s a terrible human being – full stop.

      • Calibration says:

Robyn and observer, tell that to his former wives who knowingly married him. Maybe have reading comprehension lessons re what I actually wrote. You need it.

    • Calibration says:

I mean, Katie married him for two reasons only and knowing all that about him still did? She’s not a victim she’s a perpetrator. And was well paid for it. At least I didn’t marry the dude. That’s way worse than me saying I don’t hate him. And no, as Betty said, I didn’t defend him. So you can throw your outrage around somewhere else. There are plenty of things in the world to be outraged about. Research where every item you buy is made and who makes it and what their conditions are. Start there. Research how many people have died making your iPhone and TV’s and clothes. Start there.

And yes, im happy to see one of the most famous actors in the world, kknown for his physicality in his roles, watching and enjoying a women’s tennis match.

      • Calibration says:

oh and no, I wouldn’t get my photo taken with him if I saw him or take a pic of him. But plenty of people obviously did want that. I guess troll them.

  6. BusyLizzy says:

So he has the time to attend Wimbledon but not to see his daughter Suri? Cool, cool, cool. How long has it been now? 9 years?

I have nothing against Cruise the actor but I cannot say something positive about someone who is part of a cult that enslaves, bullies, and threatens people.

    • bettyrose says:

He has all the children he needs with the ones he stole from Nicole Kidman. Suri is way better off without him in her life.

      • LillyfromLillooet says:

        @bettyrose

        Sad and I agree.

It still has to wound a child to see her dad out there smiling and spending time with other people, but refusing to spend him with her.

    • Mustang Sally says:

I think one of two things about his lack of seeing Suri: Either CO$ told him the child was off limits and could not be in his life (as Suri is not a Scientologist and therefore a suppressive person) or Katie had major dirt on him (and CO$) and threatened to spill said dirt if he wanted involvement in Suri’s upbringing. Considering some of the CO$ shenanigans Katie saw, I would not be shocked if she did not want Suri near Tom & his CO$ bullcrap.

    • lucy2 says:

Yeah the “proud dad” comment was a bit loaded, considering he has no relationship with his own kid.

  7. Jax says:

Great to see Ash Barty win the women’s final. The second Indigenous Australian woman to do so.

  8. SarahCS says:

It was a great match and I was SO happy for Barty (I was cheering her on while my boyfriend backed Pliskova, it was a fun afternoon). I did chuckle afterwards when she was indoors and met TOB and KKKate – hey colonisers!

It was a bit random when the camera was panning round the crowd and suddenly seemed to spot Tom. I did laugh when they went back to him later and he was standing and waving. Judging her for being out and about with him though, contractual if not, ick.

  9. harla says:

Omg! I’ve got the same purse as Hayley Atwell!! Granted mine is a $40 knockoff and I’m sure hers is a genuine Gabriella Hearst but still!!! I bought mine because Meghan carried this bag and I believe that Hayley bought hers for that reason too! 🙂

  10. Whatnow says:

I thought Scientologist did not believe in vaccination? Am my wrong on that one? Is it just certain medications they don’t go for?

I’m remembering all the hoopla around time saying he didn’t believe in medications for depression etc.

    • Robyn says:

Confused by this as well. But something tells me Xenu makes an exception for Tom…

    • (TheOG) Jan90067 says:

I believe it was PSYCHIATRY he had a problem with. Out of nowhere, he bashed Brooke Shields in a TV interview for seeking help postpartum depression. Xenu doesn’t believe in it, or most modern medicine/doctors.

Isn’t that why John Travolta’s son died? He wasn’t allowed help for his autism/epilepsy? And his wife, Kelly, died of breast cancer recently.

But yeah, even if they don’t “allow” Covid vaxes as the talking point, that “Xenu will keep you safe”, you know that they will give it to the slave labor (or else we’d’ve heard of MASSIVE deaths coming from out of Sea Org) and Tom wouldn’t be able to keep working w/out being vaxxed (don’t think he’d be insurable for the film).

      • Robyn says:

It’s not just mental health or psychiatry, but all illness. If you are sick, they believe it’s because you’ve done something in this life (or a previous one) to deserve it and you have to audit yourself out.

      • Anna says:

So then how is he still working if he’s not vaccinated? And all of his yelling on set with people who didn’t mask? If Xenu will keep them safe, then why is he freaking out? (sarcasm)

      • Anna says:

So then how is he still working if he’s not vaccinated? And all of his yelling on set with people who didn’t mask? If Xenu will keep them safe, then why is he freaking out? (sarcasm)

  11. Julia K says:

Shorter than Hayley Atwell who is reported to be 5’6″ . Surprising.

    • olliesmom says:

He’s hitting 60 and he’s probably experiencing some normal spinal compression due to getting older which will make you shorter. He’s going to have to get taller shoes lifts. Then he will be leaning forward all the time like a certain EX-president who (supposedly) wears lifts in his shoes to make himself look taller.

  12. Ariel says:

Everything about Cruise exists through the lens of the cult wherein he is treated like a savior, he uses cult slave labor for personal gain, he supports the separation of families by forcing members to “disconnect” from anyone who speaks critically of the “religion”.
Including abandoning his own child, and being part of a plan to poison his other children against their mother.

Additionally I saw him described this week (somewhere in the halls of twitter) as cocaine incarnate – not indicating he uses said drug, just noting his intense personality mirrors people using said substance.
    Funny, and accurate.

  13. Froggy says:

I’d be surprised if Cruise was vaccinated. Isn’t Scientology against meds and vaccines?

EDIT: Just saw the above comment saying the same

    • My3cents says:

How about fillers and botox? Cause his face looks pretty jacked up in the first pic.

      • Justjj says:

Pretty sure Xenu is okay with fillers and Botox or Scientology would cease to exist..

    • Jayna says:

I believe his is vaccinated and wants his whole crew vaccinated. This is a pandemic that has affected a movie he really wants to finish. Time and money. Time and money. Trying to finish this movie that is shot so many places has become a nightmare in how long it has gone on. It’s costing a fortune. He is fanatical about his health, so I don’t believe he wants to catch COVID-19. So because of those reasons I think he couldn’t wait to be vaccinated and for his crew and fellow actors to be vaccinated.

  14. Goldie says:

I’d actually be surprised if Cruise wasn’t vaccinated. He strikes me as someone who is obsessed with his health and perhaps a germaphobe . I know that he’s a scientologist, but there are always double standards for the wealthy vs poor.

  15. Lemonaide says:

Can you clarify which actress is who in these photos? I mean obviously that’s Tom Cruise, but these two women aren’t household names. I don’t know which one you’re referencing in the headline.

    • CourtneyB says:

Pom is the blonde. She’s best known as Mantis is Guardians of the galaxy 2, Avengers infinity war and avengers endgame. Hayley is the brunette and also from the MCU. She’s was the amazing agent Peggy carter in Captain America 1 and 2 plus Endgame and, best of all, her own series Agent carter. She’s also been in movies like Christopher Robin and British tv.

  16. Julia K says:

Pom is the blond. Hayley brunette

  17. Rilincmom says:

I just came on here to say…I absolutely hate the coat hanging over the shoulders trend. How hard is it to put your arms in the sleeves??? Why not just wear a pretty wrap/shawl/cape? It just looks ridiculous to me and I can’t wait for this particular fashion trend to pass. Oh and as a Marvel fan, I love Haley.

  18. Larry says:

I doubt any of those people are “peasants” – I’m sure some of them are probably worth the same or more than Cruise.

But I came here to say: how much you wanna bet the women had to wear flats in order to not tower over Cruise?

  19. FF says:

Pom played Mantis in the Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy/Avengers films. Just fyi.

  20. Anne says:

I would hope she could do better than to be dealing with him and Mindhead and all that nonsense.

  21. Barbie1 says:

Someone needs to care enough and formulate a plan to get him away from that cult. Imagine all the money he has given to them over the years let alone the personal sacrifices.

    • Deanne says:

I’d rather people formulated a way to get all of the Sea Org. slaves, and regular Scientologists our of the cult. What has Tom personally sacrificed exactly? He’s demanded that his entire family and any woman he is with embrace the cult. He poisoned Bella and Connor against their own Mother to keep them under the thumb of the cult. Katie Holmes had to literally escape from him to keep her daughter from being poisoned in the same way. Tom has benefited from literal slave labour and abused his personal staff and people around him for years. He knows about the abuses of his cult and is fine with it and happily participates in it. He thinks he’s above other humans and has super powers. He’s a monster who deserves to pay for his behaviour, not someone to be pitied.

      • Robyn says:

Yep. You don’t get to be #2 in a cult like this without participating in the goings on. He has wealth, and agency, and actively chooses to stay. At some point, one is no longer a victim and Cruise is longggg past that point.

  22. Anonymous says:

@Barbie1: I agree. We all make fun of him (I’m guilty of it-big time) but being part of a cult is a very difficult and complicated situation. He’s complicit and a victim at the same time. Losing his wives and not speaking to his youngest child is a sign of how much hold they have over him. Maybe one day he’ll be able to leave. Unfortunately, it does not look like he has the strength to do so anytime soon.

  23. You Know Me says:

    Tom ‘always overcompensating’ Cruise.

  24. Amanda says:

I finally started watching Leah Remini’s Scientology show and hold crap that cult is insane! However is it really worse than what the Catholic Church has been up to since like forever (but just getting called out the past few decades)? We just accept Catholics and other “religions” but they aren’t that different than a newer religion. The Catholic church was instrumental in the killing of indigenous children (they ran a lot of the schools where the bodies are being dug up) and other abuses yet we don’t ridicule Catholics and try cancel them like people do with Tom for having their beliefs. I’m not defending him or his religion but it’s interesting how religions that have taken more lives and had the opportunity to abuse more people get a pass because we’ve normalized then because they’ve been around forever. I honestly don’t see a difference between a cult and an established religion other that religions tend to be larger and normalized.

    • Nicole says:

Nice try but Catholics can and do renounce their religion and it’s failings all of the time. A lot of people have left the church because of these things. The abuses by clergy and horror of residential schools aren’t okay with church members. People are disgusted and horrified. They aren’t banned from reading criticism of the Catholic Church. The church doesn’t demand that their friends and family who are Catholic shun them or face expulsion themselves. They don’t have to worry about hate videos and websites being made about them by the church. They aren’t being harassed and followed by private detectives and other church members for criticizing or leaving the church either. They aren’t dragged in and interrogated at their own expense for questioning Catholicism. Scientology is a money making scam that costs a minimum of 250,000$ to get up the bridge. Scientologist can’t even report crimes against them by another Scientologist. That includes rape. Scientology isn’t a “new religion”, it’s a cult. They can’t even tell you what they actually believe because most people haven’t forked out enough cash to make it up to the disclosure of Xenu at OT 3 . Religions have a long history of being problematic on a number of levels, but Scientology isn’t a real religion. It’s s high control group that bleeds it’s members dry financially.

    • Justjj says:

This is an interesting point and one that needs to be discussed more often, for sure. It wasn’t just the Catholic Church either-these schools were also government funded and were mandated to the point where kids were literally taken, or their parents could not receive food assistance or partake in other safety nets unless their kids went to these schools… by 1929, something like 87%+ of indigenous school aged children were in boarding schools in the US. They had to cut their hair, give up their names, turn in their possessions. These schools existed until the 1960s. It was full scale cultural genocide and while the Catholic Church was at the forefront, it was a huge multinational effort with plenty of complicit parties. You’re right though, the Catholic Church has perpetrated some fuq-dupedness for all of time. Scientology is still so, so, creepy…

      • Anna says:

See what the Catholic, Jesuit and other “churches” do in schools around the continent of Africa and other places. It’s all the same crock of violent s**t.

    • LilacMaven says:

      The differences are pretty simple:

You can leave the Catholic Church without losing your entire family.

The Catholic Church doesn’t deny its members a proper education.

The Catholic Church doesn’t relentlessly stalk ex-Catholic, calling their employers, claiming they’ve committed crimes (everything from theft to pedophilia).

The Catholic Church didn’t break into the IRS offices and steal material to blackmail them with.

The Catholic Church didn’t get a woman arrested on a phony hate crime/bomb plot charge (Paulette Cooper).

The Catholic Church doesn’t routinely force it’s members to take out loans and max out their credit cards to “support” the church.

I’m not a Catholic. I would never become a Catholic, either, as I think they’re corrupt. But your false equivalency is nonsense.

The main difference between Scientology (and all other cults) and mainstream religions is that members are free to leave. No one stalked my mother when she left the Episcopal church. Her family wasn’t forced to disconnect.

No one is free to just leave Scientology.

  25. MangoAngelesque says:

I do wonder how much it absolutely grated on royal nerves that they NEVER get that sort of attention at events? You know if Will had been there, he would have been incandescing to the heavens.

  26. Mabs A'Mabbin says:

He obviously needed some adoration. So high maintenance.

  27. Anonymous says:

@Amanda: You are absolutely right. I never looked at it that way but it’s so true.

  28. Anonymous says:

@Nicole: I think one of the observations Amanda made was that it was only recently the Catholic Church got called out. As an example; many priests participated in the cover up of sexual abuse of minors. They knew about it, heard about the abuse during confession and then remained silent because of their religious obligation. This religious obligation was protected by the church and the state.

Scientology is clearly a cult. It does horrible things to all it’s members. I guess the question is are their members victims, complicit or a little of both? I rag on TC all of the time for his participation in this sham. Reading some posts here makes me realize this might actually involve a more in depth look. Is he in fear of being blackmailed? Have they threatened his children? Is he brainwashed? Is he evil? Could be all of the above. I suspect it’s going to be very hard for him to admit that he lost his wives, a $h1tload of $ and his relationship with his youngest child over a con. It takes many cult members years to leave and see the light.

    • Nicole says:

@Anonymous Most public Scientologists probably don’t have any idea of the extent of the abuses committed by Scientology. They aren’t allowed to read or listen to anything negative about it without fear of someone finding out and them being sec checked within an inch of their lives for daring to do so. I feel for second and third generation members who were brought in by their families and the ones signed over to the Sea Org. as children. Tom Cruise is different. He has the power to leave. He’s rich, he’s less powerful than he was, but he still has power in Hollywood. He’d be hailed as a hero if he left, but he doesn’t because he has embraced the God like status that the church has given him. He enjoys abusing the Sea Org. members who provide him with slave labour. He know about all of the abuses and doesn’t care. He loves his little COB bestie David Miscavige and knows full well that Miscavige is a abusive tyrant. No matter what Scientology has on him, he’s still be forgiven and rewarded for leaving, but clearly, the power and adulation he receives as unofficial number two in the cult/ is worth more to him that public perception and his own young daughter. Hell, he knows exactly where Shelley is. Tom Cruise gets no pass from me. for anything. He’s literally the one person who could leave and take the place down. He could be a real hero instead of a pretend one like he plays in all of his ego driven movies. Regular Scientologists I can have empathy for as they are definitely victims at some level, but not Tommy boy. He’s culpable as you can get. Also, not just priests covered up the Catholic abuse, but also the freaking Vatican. How gross is that? Now they refuse to apologize and pay restitution too. I was raised Catholic, went to Catholic school etc and want nothing to do with it. It sickens me more than I can possibly explain.

  29. Lala11_7 says:

Another mofo that don’t have ANYTHING to do with his child…

    I don’t TRUCK with males like that🤬

  30. SusanRagain says:

Who on planet earth would willingly become romantically involved with Tom Cruise knowing his CoS garbage?
Nasty is being polite. Vile and mentally brainwashed is more correct, IMO.

Now, on a shallow front….why does he always look terrible in a suit?
Armani, McQueen, Tom Ford anyone in mens fashion should be able to do better.
He looks like that suit is off the rack from JCPenney.

Does anyone really want another MI movie?

  31. Anonymous says:

@Susanragain: You are absolutely right. This is common knowledge at this point. No one in their right mind should get involved with him. I don’t know if either of these women are dating him. They might be just co-workers. At least; I hope so, for their sake.

  32. Agirlandherdog says:

I just want Pom’s sunglasses. Please and thank you.

  33. lucy2 says:

2nd to last picture, Hayley looks a lot like Katie Holmes.
    Run, Hayley.

  34. Margo says:

You can hate on me, but I love Tom. He has been a movie star my whole life. I recently watched Risky Business and Jerry Maguire again and in both films, he is really great. Since this opinion is not aligned with other comments, it likely won’t be published, but I’m putting it out there anyway.

    • Naz says:

Maybe you could joint Scientology and marry him. He’s been single a while and I’m sure he’s looking for wife number 4. If just enjoying a actor’s performance in a movie is enough to love him, regardless of his abusing others and abandoning his child, those kind of low standards could make you s great candidate. You’ll just have to embrace flat shoes.

      • Dashen'ka says:

Every single famous actor is at the very least a narcissist and most of them treat women terribly. I suppose you don’t watch movies or TV and wandered in here by accident. 🙄

      • Naz says:

“Every single famous actor” isn’t the poster boy for an abusive cult that they chose over their child.

    • H says:

@Margo, do not forget that before he married Katie, Tom had a girlfriend that was set up for him by Scientology. Another actress, Nazanin. Tom broke up with her because she made a remark at a dinner party that Miscaviage was at. She was sent to Scientology gulag in Clearwater and made to clean toilets and floors with a toothbrush because she dared to defy the great Toms.

If you want to be a fan of a man who would send a girlfriend, someone he was apparently cared for, to hell because of his raging ego…go for it.
