Kendall Jenner covers the August issue of Elle Magazine. It’s not a traditional cover profile of some hot young celebrity lady with an out-of-touch interview about how hard it is to be famous. Kendall has done plenty of those, don’t get me wrong. But for this issue, they didn’t bother interviewing her. She was just a model for hire, and it’s just a huge editorial for fall fashion. People are vaxxed, waxed and ready to FASHION!
So in lieu of actual words from Kendall to dissect and discuss, let’s just talk about the fashion and the modeling! Elle definitely wants us to believe that the Fall 2021 season will be all about: slender legs, boots, corsets, flannel, granny panties and choppy-layered haircuts. Honestly, I’m kind of fine with all of that? Minus the skinny legs, I don’t have skinny legs. But I’m all for layering flannel shirts over prairie dresses and boots and choppy haircuts. This is how our asses used to dress in the 1990s. It’s coming back!
As for Kendall… I don’t think much of her modeling skills most of the time, but she’s fine in this editorial. She seems to have toned down the lip injections too, and with this haircut, she looks less like Ali McGraw and more like… I don’t know, a ‘90s rocker. A little bit Winona-esque, right?

Yeah she announced she was taking a break in 2019 and did her first in 2 years a few months ago.
Her face looks different again? Not sure. She was dating a really hot basketball player, Devin Booker. Don’t know if she still is. That’s one aspect of her life that sounds great: attracting extremely hot guys like moths to the flame. I never had that ability (let’s face it: most women don’t), but it sure is a potent fantasy (for a minute).
It feels like they photoshopped the heck out of her. Those cover pics make her look like an alien. She’s a young good-lloking model, no need to make her face look impossibly narrow/small with huge eyes. Look at the difference with the pic in the Celine top — they look like 2 different people.
Such a huge fail in my eyes — she does not look like those cover photos at all.
As for the clothes, meh. I’m sick of baggy clothes so flannels and prarie dresses just seem super depressing to me. It’s been sooooo long since tailored clothes were in style. Wouldn’t mind seeing tops without: dropped shoulders, ruffles, puffed shoulders, peek-a-boo shoulders, raglan sleeves, oversized silhouettes, etc.
They photshopped her so bad I thought it was wynina rider on the first cover and white halley berry on the second. The nose is so different, she’s got fish eyes and they elongated the legs on one of the pics to the point she would collapse in real life.
I don’t think it’s photoshopped, I think she’s really had a shitload of “subtle” work done.

My god, Kendall is so basic. Whenever she works, I am reminded that she’s in the business because of her family, there’s zero talent or charisma.
Basic is the perfect word to describe Kendall.
Kendall has a pretty face, but true she has no vibe, nothing special, mysterious or exciting, always the same no expression face which is so bland. I miss the top models of the 90’s. They had that little something these girls don’t.
There are so many nepotism models in that industry right now.
I disagree. I think she’s a far better model than Kaia Gerber, whose eyes are too close together. I like her modeling. I find nothing offensive about her.

I cannot understand no matter how many times I look at her and try try try to see potential, how anyone anywhere can even call her mildly pretty.

I think it looks cute and 90s, and highlights her huge eyes. I hate the outfit in the top pic but the haircut looks good. I’m not a follower of her or any of her sisters, but I’ll weigh in on the cut.

The nineties Melrose Place fashion at stupid prices leaves me a bit meh. Especially because high fashion doesn’t control trends anymore right? The kids do.
I never saw her appeal as a model . Kendell lacks charisma and her eyes always seem dead. With the exception of Bella Handid none of these nepotism models can walk there is no allure with them.

She was SO gorgeous 5 years ago. I don’t understand why the women in this family have to go overboard. They get some work done, look amazing and then keep doing more. I am convinced there is not one happy person in that family.
If I weren’t so angry about their contribution to the “Instagram face/body”, I’d feel sad for them.

I just chopped the hell out of my hair and it looks pretty bad, but at least I can say I’m in style. I may need to add more layers and mismatch my clothes though.

Hair stylists were calling this a 70s chop like with curtain bangs. I don’t see 90s here. Maybe I slept through a decade.

Why do magazines hire famous models to just make them unrecognizable? She doesn’t even look human but more like an A.I.. Stupid photoshop.

Why do her eyes look like an anime characters on the cover?
I think they shot her from above, so her face is slightly tapered and the shadows make her eyelids and makeup all blur together and make her eyes look bigger. If you look at her actual eyes, they look normal; it’s the whole eye area that combines to give her anime eyes.

Yes, it’s the Billie Eilish Wolf cut. I’m late 40s and recently got the same cut. Same cut I had in 2004. It really flatters all ages and face shapes.
