Fergie: Jack Brooksbank was in Capri for work, he ‘is a man of such integrity’

jack eugenie fergie

Is Jack Brooksbank in “trouble” for his yacht trip with three attractive topless women off the coast of Italy? I don’t know. I tend to believe the reports that Princess Eugenie had a little vacation with a friend in Ibiza, and I also tend to believe that Jack was in Capri for work, with his job at Casamigos Tequila, which was one of the sponsors of the UNICEF ball in Capri over the weekend. Do I also think Jack could have made better decisions? Sure. He looks like a cad, and it’s disrespectful to his wife who just gave birth to their son this year. Not to mention, now the British media is targeting the three women on the yacht with Jack. How long before the Daily Mail fully doxxes them? In any case, Jack’s mother-in-law Sarah Ferguson defended him:

Sarah Ferguson has defended her ‘superhero’ son-in-law Jack Brooksbank after he was spotted on a boat in Capri with three bikini-clad women at the weekend – insisting he was ‘just doing his job’. The Duchess of York, 61, appeared on BBC One’s The One Show this evening to discuss her upcoming debut Mills and Boon novel.

Jack, a brand ambassador for Casamigos tequila, hit the headlines after cavorting with glamorous women – including topless model – aboard a luxurious 26ft ‘gozzo’ boat, while his wife Princess Eugenie looked after their baby son August at home. Sarah took the opportunity to show support for Jack, whom she claims is one of her ‘most favourite people’.

‘Jack, who was on the front page, is a man of such integrity,’ she said. ‘He’s just one of my most favourite people, I call him James Bond actually. He’s just a superhero in my book, and he’s a great father, a fabulous husband, and he’s never at front of house, he always likes to be at the back. So for them to make this story is completely fabricated, he works as an ambassador for Casamigos, and he was on doing his job, and so I think it’s really important that we clarify that for Jack’s sake.’

[From The Daily Mail]

Yeah… the reason he was in Capri in the first place was for a work trip, for the UNICEF ball. But was the yacht trip “work” too? He was with work “colleagues,” so possibly. Did George Clooney call him up and say “the tequila needs to be front-and-center on a yacht while you surround yourself with beautiful topless women”? Doubtful. Granted, sometimes work colleagues will do fun activities together outside of work. And that yacht trip sure looked like fun.

Well Fergie knows all about integrity, that’s for sure.

Like I said yesterday – maybe this was completely innocent (I tend to think it was) but it looks SO bad. Maybe next time he gets on a yacht for work he doesn’t do it in a place surrounded by paps? Or he keeps his shirt on? IDK.

    • Merricat says:

Lol, that was my reaction: maybe Fergie isn’t the best judge of integrity.

      • Christine says:

Honestly, she’s the only one of the bunch who has said anything remotely in support of Harry and Meghan, and now she is defending her son-in-law. That’s right, Royals, FERGIE is looking like the most loyal one of the bunch.

    • GraceB says:

Fergie needs to stop talking. She’s constantly defending Andrew and it’s a terrible look. She can do what she wants to herself but I’m not sure she realises how bad it looks for her children when she paints the picture of such a tight family bond.

Whether or not this boat trip was innocent, I think most women struggle with insecurities after having a baby. Especially when it’s your first. I don’t agree with everyone saying it’s disrespectful for a husband to see or be in the presence of topless women, but doing so alone and so soon after having a baby isn’t respectful.

It’s been documented that during pregnancy and the first year after having a baby is when men most often cheat. Women struggle with the changing dynamics of the relationship, their own identity and their drastically changing body.

      • Becks1 says:

@GraceB – that’s what I think is tricky about this. I trust my husband and even if the trip was completely innocent, I’d still be livid about these photos 6 months after I had a baby. I think that makes me feel differently about these than I would if they were from 2 years ago (i.e. they were married but no kids, no pregnancy etc.)

      • Isabella says:

The changing stories don’t help either. Was Eugenia in Ibiza with friends or at home with the baby?

    • damejudi says:

When Fergie is riding to your rescue.

    • Ainsley7 says:

The pictures he posed for (not the pap pics) were put on social media. So, the public we’re going to find out that he spent time on a yacht with some people. The only reason that it “doesn’t look good” is because the tabloids are only going with pictures of Jack and the models. There were other people there. It was a work thing. He’s got a weird job because part of his job is basically to party. It’s a weird job, but one that Eugenie completely understands. Beatrice has had similar jobs in the past and she was also crucified for it.

      • Becks1 says:

Sure, there may have been other people there, but the optics of these particular pictures do not look good. I understand his job. I’m assuming Eugenie understands his job. It doesn’t mean these particular pics would make me super happy.

      • LaraW” says:

I honestly don’t understand what “brand ambassador” means in the context of alcohol. Fashion, perfume, cars? Sure. But alcohol? It is just… hosting exclusive parties with an open bar? Some bizarre influencer type thing for alcohol? Is the goal to get big names or whatever together and photographed drinking the brand? I don’t get it.

      • Tanya says:

It’s basically partying with influential people and pitching your brand to them. Introducing them to your product, in hopes that they’ll either promote it or stock it themselves. I met a lot of them when I worked in the restaurant/bar industry.

      • Mac says:

He and a co-worker rented a boat for the day and brought two of the models who were probably paid to be part of the Casamigos entourage. There is a photo of Jack drinking wine out of a disposable cup. This wasn’t a luxury yacht, it was a tourist rental.

      • LaraW” says:

        Thanks Tanya for the explanation!

      • ennie says:

+1 He did not just get this job last week. She knows and he is ok in my book. They are being punished for being friendly with the DDoS

    • Bettyrose says:

HA! I think we all came to say exactly that. I don’t really think Jack did something wrong but Fergie’s word is just about the least credible you can get.

      • swirlmamad says:

Exactly. Unfortunately for Jack, your mother-in-law’s supportive endorsement means nothing when her name is Fergie, Duchess of York.

    • Tessa says:

She said the same thing about Andrew in that interview. She is making things worse for Jack.

    • UnionSnack says:

ITA. Fergie is just doing worse when she is trying to defend and explain. The best she could do is to say that it’s not her business and if Eugenie and Jack want they would issue some statement later . And that she only knows Jack as a good person period. When someone like Fergie tries to shield… I only think there’s no smoke without fire.

    • North of Boston says:

Well it’s not like he was sucking anyone’s toes or anything, so Fergie might have a point.

  2. GuestWho says:

I don’t know whether what happened on the yacht was as creepy as the DM would have us believe. What I do know is that Fergie has said similar things about her r*pey husband, so her particular defense isn’t carrying a whole lot of weight.

    • Wiglet Watcher says:

It will appear as creepy as it needs to to distract from Camilla’s nephew selling access to Charles. The DM and Sun are masters at twisting the truth.

      • Liz version 700 says:

Exactly. Jack made a jerk out of himself at the perfect time for a nice trip under the Windsor bus.

      • Gail Hirst says:

@Liz version 700…LOL snorted my coffee “a nice trip under the Windsor bus”.
        Such a great descriptive.
Now all I can think of is Jack being thrown under that bus with Andy’s picture saying come talk with the FBI…
Ultimately though, I think this is a distraction story.
Still want to know more about Cammy’s nephew selling access to Charlie…….

      • Mac says:

I wonder if they threw him under the bus to stick to Fergie on the eve of her book launch.

  3. PhD gossip says:

Serious question: If it was a work trip, and Jack knew photogs were around, why was he drinking Rose?

    • Sofia says:

They can drink something that isn’t tequila I imagine.

    • Jo73c says:

why does anyone drink Rose? ;)

    • MMadison says:

There is a conflation of a work trip and what happened on that yacht. IMO the work was at the ball and the playtime was on that yacht. Jack’s playtime on business trips maybe ok with Eugenie, her marriage her choices. I personally find it disrespectful but that’s my personal opinion. I’m stuck on the “why”….why did the British Tabloid media go after Eugenie? It is because they have NOTHING on the Sussex’s? Is it because they are pressuring her to spill the tea on the Sussex’s? Is it because they are sending a message to William? Why? Why? Why?

  4. Chaine says:

I nominate Paul Rudd to play Jack when The Crown covers this little mess.

  5. sa says:

I thought just one of the women was topless? Not that it would make it better, but maybe it’s my prudish Americanness in that thinks married men shouldn’t hang out with topless women. (my built-in rule for every generalization I have about marriage is that if both spouses are okay with something, then my opinion doesn’t matter).

    • Katherine says:

it’s funny how reactions differ on this so much – some think this looks innocent enough and give the benefit of the doubt, others consider the mere fact of being on a yacht like this, in a position like this, to be compromising. and the funniest part is ten years ago I would’ve thought this was fine too – because I saw too many men behave like that. and yeah, it often was job-related too, “networking and mingling”.
fast forward to now as I’ve watched all those marriages and relationships fall apart and the men turn out to not be who they wanted you to think they were, and at the end of the day it’s the ones who wouldn’t be caught dead in this position who turned to be the ones who proved worthy husbands.

    • gilda says:

Came to say the same thing, not that 1 v 3 makes it better but it’s factually incorrect.

    • Kristen says:

This is problematic because it objectifies women for simply having bodies. It’s perfectly acceptable for any woman who wants to to sunbathe topless. Saying that married men can’t be around topless women implies that: (1) men are somehow unable to control themselves; and (2) women’s bodies are sexual objects.

  6. (TheOG) Jan90067 says:

Granted, I never worked for a company like Casamigos, but then, I never went to a work party where scantily clothed/topless women draped themselves over other women’s husbands like that, drunk or not. Go figure. And not that many husbands, KNOWING they’re being photo’d, try and cop a feel (that is NOT an “innocent” hand placement; reminds me of TOBB’s pic when he got photo’d groping a dancing girl).

    Yeah… he’s not that innocent 🎶

    • Arpeggi says:

When two of my Dept PIs retired and we threw them a party, they were reminiscing about the good ol’ days where the profs would finish their hard work day and go to one of the strip clubs down hill (it’s Montreal, we used to be famous for the number of strip clubs downtown) for a couple of drinks with the boys. There’s absolutely nothing new here.

Jack’s job is to pretend to have a great time at a party and if you party on a yacht, chances are you won’t be wearing a 3-piece suit. Many of those pics were posted on various social media because it was an add. Tabloids repurposed them and gave them a new narrative, it’s lazy work tbh

      • Isabella says:

Jack’s job involves entertaining influential people. Not topless models on a rental boat.

The good old days were horrible for women trying to break into the business.

One of the women on Jack’s boat actually works for the company. It can be very uncomfortable to be the only woman who’s not there to be looked at and/or groped during photo shoots. The tech industry is constantly dealing with this.

      • lisa says:

Isabella: 100%. The company itself needs to have a better optics / ethics / PR policy for employees and work events.

      • The Hench says:

Also, speaking as a brand person, I’d argue that disrespectful dickhead is not the image you want to be aiming to hold up for your product so I am not buying this argument that it was for work. This damages the brand, it doesn’t promote it. Unless, of course, it is only bought and drunk by arseholes.

      • Sigmund says:

Just because men have done it for decades doesn’t make it right.

  7. Sunshine says:

Shout out to Fergie who unlike Prince Charles looks out for married ins and the mental health is new mothers.

    • Ginger says:

Fergie and Andrew are absolute garbage human beings but there is thing I can credit them for. They do defend their kids and spouses.

Charles won’t even pick up the phone when his youngest son is crying out for help. But Charles is always there for Camilla’s family. He disgusts me.

      • Gina says:

Maybe Charles hates him because Harry is so clearly Diana’s son? Emotional intelligence, sensitivity, connection to people, openness, inclination to charity work. Harry inherited all these traits not from Charles for sure.

      • Rnot says:

Doesn’t it just say it all that the healthiest family dynamics in the Windsor’s seem to be Fergie’s family unit?

      • Tessa says:

William turned out to be like his father. I wonder if Diana could see the signs of that. I wouldn’t be surprised if she did.

  8. Snuffles says:

A simple, he was there for work would have sufficed. All of the he’s a “superhero” exclamations are overkill and make the whole thing suspect.

    • Golly Gee says:

When she called the press, Fergie was probably in the throes of PTSD from the time she got caught sucking on some guy’s toe on a yacht, making her the punching bag for the media.

    • Lorelei says:

It is genuinely nice, imo, that despite her many…issues, she does seem to be a very loyal person. Calling a brand ambassador for tequila a “superhero” is a bit much, though.

  9. Amy Bee says:

Clooney sold Casamigos to Diageo a few years ago so Jack’s on his own here. I don’t think this is anything but him going out on a boat ride with work friends. That Sarah felt she needed to respond to this shows how fearful she and her family are of the tabloids.

  10. Hica says:

I don’t think. Clooney and Gerber own Casamigos anymore
While this story is questionable, the Queen ( getting around Scottish laws, selfishly) and selling royal access by Camila nephew is more important. Side-eyeing any royal story by RR. Fergie is not a great judge of character especially on topic of cheating and association with Andrew and Epstein.

    • Lorelei says:

They also dropped the scandal involving Prince Michael of Kent pretty quickly, and that has far more serious implications. Wasn’t it only in the news for, I’m not kidding, just one day? Yet there are STILL articles bitching about Meghan’s baby shower. These people, jfc.

  11. Sofia says:

Fergie’s lack of what integrity would look like aside, I think she’s right that this is not a huge issue. I mean, yes the optics don’t look good but he’s a tequila ambassador. It’s basically his job to drink and party and schmooze with people so they buy and drink tequila. He’ll learn to be a bit more careful in public because optics can be damaging but I don’t think he’s cheating.

  12. Esmerelda says:

I think that in this instance the “never complain, never explain” would have worked better: having Fergie of all people defending “JB” might backfire, and it keeps the story in the news for another cycle.

Strange that we would all have bet on Bea’s husband for “most likely to be caught cavorting on a yatch with models” and it’s instead the one with the “unassuming, good guy” image ;)

    • Ange says:

Nah I would have picked this one purely because when you work for a booze company this is part of the deal

  13. TigerMcQueen says:

    I have a few thoughts.

I think it was a dumb thing to do, was probably innocent, and as Eugenie isn’t a hypocrite, this is between her and her husband.

The outrage meter from the royal rats isn’t nearly turned up nearly as high for this white male as it was every time Meghan did something like, you know, exist.

  14. sandy says:

how nice that his mother in law can go on tv and defend him directly while being interviewed and the press didnt have a meltdown

  15. Golly Gee says:

Nice work if you can get it.

  16. Susan says:

I’m a nobody private citizen, but I am aware of how things can appear vs. how they really are. Occasionally I’ve been burned (and been upset by something I witnessed) that was “nothing,” but it can leave a lasting imprint. Being as visibile of a member of the BRF, he should know better. Regardless of his innocence, this will always be a footnote of his.

  17. SarahCS says:

I can think of better character witnesses.

  18. Scorpion says:

🤭😁 Fergie wouldn’t know integrity if it was sucking her nasty toes… She probably should have kept quiet on this front.

  19. Red Weather Tiger says:

If all Europeans are so cool with married nen lounging about with topless models on yachts whilst their wives are home nursing their progeny, why did Fergie feel the need to defend ol’ ramblin’ Jack?

    • Ginger says:

It’s interesting, isn’t it? Jack has been a brand ambassador for a while. Have we seen pictures of him partying with models before or is this a first? I mean, this is his job, right? I’m sure he has done this numerous times. I wonder why we haven’t seen photos. This is what brand ambassadors do. They party on boats with models.

      • Ange says:

Well he was a nobody before he married in, then there was the pandemic, then his wife had a baby. Makes perfect sense to me.

    • Tanya says:

I’m not European, and I’d be ok with it, assuming I was getting time off to party with my friends too.

I’ve got 3 kids. It’s a marathon. I didn’t expect my husband to stop going out just because we’d had a kid, and he didn’t expect me to either. And maybe it’s because I did a lot of musical theater, and went to a lot of parties where nudity would just happen, but I wouldn’t have an issue with him being topless with other topless people on a yacht. I’ve been on yachts when women took their tops off; none of them were after my husband, and while I’m too self-conscious to do it, why should my issues affect them?

      • Ginger says:

No one is saying Jack can’t have female friends or can’t have fun because he has a kid. Eugenie gave birth 5 months ago. She is postpartum and I’m sure her hormones are all over the place. She is probably trying to lose the baby weight as well. Meghan did a WellChild event in 2019 and was self conscious about the dress she wore (being postpartum) and Harry told her she looked great. To me, it’s about respect. I trust my husband and I know he would never cheat. I also know he would never be on a yacht with models 5 moths after I gave birth. Jack is now a public figure and his actions have consequences for him and for Eugenie.

      • katie says:

I feel just like you do. The comments are shockingly conservative for these sites. I don’t think we need to assume that Eugenie is upset because some women (like us) would not care!

My husband has a job where he is often surrounded by models and takes pictures with them and it gets posted online sometimes, and guess what? I don’t care! I often take pictures with handsome male friends too.

      • A says:

“She is probably trying to lose the baby weight as well.”

@Ginger, with all due respect, I have to tell you, I’m blown away by just how astonishingly rude and disrespectful your comment is, especially the larger implications you’re making here.

It’s honestly jaw-dropping just how easy it’s been for some people to be shockingly rude in these comments with this story, especially towards Eugenie. The ease with which people will comment on things like how hormonal a woman must be, what she must be doing about her weight, whether she’s insecure or not, what she thinks, what she feels, etc., with little to no clue about any of those things, is just mind-boggling. And that too coming from people who claim to be speaking in her defense.

First of all, why the f-ck are you commenting on the body of a woman you haven’t seen and don’t know about? Second, why the f-ck are you putting imaginary insecurities onto Eugenie, simply bc her husband was photographed partying on a yacht with 3 other women? What exactly are you implying here when you state that this is disrespectful to Eugenie? That because those women are skinny and therefore attractive, and you believe Eugenie is not (bc she is a new mother), so she MUST be struggling with her self-esteem and body image as a result? And that the way for her husband to demonstrate that he’s respectful and understanding of those issues is by refraining from being photographed hanging out with skinny, beautiful, non-post partum women on a yacht?

I’m honestly begging people to just start taking a look at the sh-t they’re saying and the types of comments and assumptions they’re making here about Eugenie.

    • A says:

You realize Eugenie has a dozen staff members at her disposal, or at the very least a nanny available to pick up the slack right? Like, she was raised a certain way and socializes within a certain set of people. None of them are doing the grunt work involved with raising a baby. They have help for that. This image that people are piling over themselves to paint of Eugenie as the harried, frenzied new mother, up to her elbows in diapers and without enough time to shower is just quite literally not true.

  20. cws says:

Having sold (or tried to sell) access to her Royal ex-husband, having taken “loan” money from a pedophile billionaire, respecting her ex-husband whose… timeline excuses around a rape accusation are laughable, Fergie knows nothing about integrity

  21. Shawna says:

A four month old is a big early to leave your wife with, but then again, he’s got to stay on top of his career. Eugenie can’t afford his career to slow down!

  22. Robin says:

The last thing he and his wife need is her mother, tainted justly for so many reasons, weighing in on this.

Having looked at the photos, I’m with some posters on here who see nothing dodgy in them. However, if Sarah carries on, she will make it sound more and more like the son in law hasn’t fallen far from the tree of the father in law. Fergie is a desperate woman who used Epstein’s money to pay her and her husband out of their financial scrapes; she should be grateful the authorities aren’t onto her and go away.

  23. Tessa says:

Fergie really needed to keep quiet about it.

  24. Calibration says:

I mean if you know the truth, why feed the trolls? If they all knew the truth why not ignore it rather than make it more of a story? It’s hardly important and would die almost immediately

  25. ML says:

I agree with Hica: Jack’s behavior IS questionable, however if we’re talking about this, we’re less likely to be talking about the Queen’s consent in England or Scotland, who deserves to be called Duke of Edinburgh, royal responses to the English football team’s loss/ racism toward footballers vs family members, keenness that starts off so well and then starts off well again a few months later, a nasty rapist and his spendthrift wife…

  26. Capepopsie says:

James Bond! 😂 His view on women is pretty problematic anyway 😔

    • Jais says:

Yeah the James Bond reference is funny. Known misogynist with shady secrets and a new woman in every film. This is not the character reference Fergie should be using lol!

  27. aquarius64 says:

You know it’s bad when Fergie is coming out to defend you and the Firm isn’t.

  28. Talie says:

The Mail has another story today implying both husbands of the York sisters are essentially making fools of them. The gloves are off….

Although most people here predicted this would happen with Harry and Meghan out of the picture and closing themselves off from leaks. New targets are needed. The Yorks, Zara, Peter, Mike, whoever else further down the line doing anything that will get a click.

  29. russianblue says:

The Rota and Firm are like “Oh look, a sex scandal! Everyone, you should pay attention to this minor royal’s husband hanging out with scantily-clad women on a yacht! Huh? What about Prince Charles? Don’t be silly, there’s no story about Prince Charles.”

  30. Athena says:

Jack is a private citizen the Firm does not need to defend him and in this case neither does Fergie, who genuinely likes Jack a lot more than she likes Edo.

All Eugenie has to do is post a happy picture of herself and Jack to let people know that her and her husband are good.

  31. Klu says:

I think we need to give Jack a little benefit here. Those alcohol promo parties can get absolutely crazy and he should have been given the privacy to do his job. I could tell you about one we had in Chicago five years ago that a tequila brand threw and every bartender in the city showed up. It was crazy and I only remember half of the night. So please, from a trade standpoint I do think we need to cut Jack some slack.

    • Isabella says:

See, that’s what is confusing. Where are the influential people he’s supposed to be entertaining by renting a boat? I only see the entertainment. Also, this is off brand for Jack. He’s supposed to be the good dad and husband.

      • paranormalgirl says:

It’s possible you’re only seeing what the paparazzi are putting out there. Non “scandalous” photos don’t sell.

It’s also possible that Eugenie was aware of the boat party and who would be there before the event even took place.

      • A says:

I mean, the entertainment *is* the point right? They don’t need to be influential, they just need to be good looking people who are out there having a good time. Like…it’s just about inviting people to make it seem like it’s a raging party that you want to be at, that’s all. That’s literally what advertising is. It’s just about creating a certain image to associate your brand with to help with marketing.

And no. This is not “off brand” for Jack Brooksbank, bc Jack Brooksbank has no brand to speak of. He is not a member of the royal family. Eugenie is not a working royal. He is a private citizen who did not sign up to represent the crown in any capacity. He has “no brand” that he needs to sell, bc he doesn’t to sell an image of sunny domesticity to ensure an income. That’s literally what he’s got his job for–a job that he’s ironically socializing for through being on that yacht.

  32. L says:

Stodgy Englishman as brand ambassador for tequila?! No thanks! Also, isn’t this schilling, something Harry & Meg have been vilified for doing?

  33. Jessica says:

I really think this situation is really dependent on the people involved in it. For instance, if this were my ex-husband, I’d be livid and heartbroken and knowing he absolutely cheated on me. If it were my current boyfriend, I might not be bothered quite as much because I trust him and our relationship is strong and he’d have a good reason for it. Jack’s job is to be a brand ambassador, Eugenie understands that, and of course the media is going to pick the photos that look the worst. Everyone is blaming him for being around the topless woman- did she show up to the pier topless? Probably not. She chose to take her top off once they were on the yacht; how is that Jack’s fault? Is he supposed to magically know she was going to do that, so he shouldn’t show up and do his job that day? And now I’m defending someone I really don’t care about LOL

  34. DuchessL says:

Fergie just cant say no to anybody asking her for comments – she just cant help herself. This shows Jack has very poor judgment. They are doomed for more digging and more drama from the press, even more as they are thirsty for more news, but Jack should get a raise because of all the publicity for casamigos he did! Well done Jack! And I second that comment about how Paul Rudd should be playing jack when we get to this point on the Crown lol

  35. RoyalBlue says:

I honestly don’t think Jack did anything wrong from looking at those pictures. My office has summer boat rides every year and there is drinking, eating, bikinis, cheesing for the pictures, group shots etc. This is just being blown up by the trash media to cover up for the Pay to Play by the Tories and Royals.

  36. Kelly says:

    Fergie knows the word integrity?

  37. Jack says:

Fergie: “At least he wasn’t papped sucking another woman’s toes.”

  38. KW says:

I’m giving the lazy tabloid bottom feeders two days to write a new narrative:

The rent that broke Jack’s back (because it’s not a story line in jolly ole without a rhyme)

Jack was forced to party with topless models and spend copious amounts of time away from the love of his life because the big bad Sussex’s are demanding extraordinary amounts of rent and Jack is forced to leave his wife and child to pay for the demands of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Although they have 1700 bathrooms and a large house in sunny California, they are greedy and are demanding that Eugenie and Jack pay more rent to pay for their California lifestyle. blah blah, blah blah, Meghan is demanding more money to pay for her 40th birthday …. blah blah. Harry is turning against his closest ally in the family because Meghan is a control guru who took yoga to hypnotize Harry.

There, Royal Rats, steal my story.

    PS, Fergie needs to shush.

  39. Lynne says:

The only person I saw him close to was the one with the pics that were planned for social media. A lot of women swim or lounge around topless in Europe….. I didn’t see any pics of him checking them out or drying them off.

  40. Jaded says:

Having Fergie come out to support you is like having a rubber crutch.

I still maintain nothing “untoward” happened on the boat but it was a huge PR misstep and makes him look like an utter dolt. Cavorting around like that while supposedly on “business”, with a new baby and wife at home, is just bad optics. The BRF continues to shoot itself in the foot again and again.

  41. BlueToile says:

Oh, people, people, people! I have been married for 36 years and if my husband (or I) ever did something like this, it would mean a complete train wreck between us. Being on a yacht without your spouse, but with other topless women is so inappropriate, on so many levels, I simply cannot express it. Don’t try to flop this off as “work.” If this is actually what he is expected to do for his paycheck, he needs a new job. A job respectful to his wife and family. Jack has humiliated Eugenie and himself. Denying that doesn’t help anyone.

    • A says:

Is it possible that maybe, just maybe, you’re choosing to project your own individual experiences from a 36 year old marriage, and what works for you with your husband in your relationship, onto someone else, and that your experiences on this might not be universal?

  42. Vee says:

I was an employee of the same company as Jack for 4 years and I can state unreservedly that as a brand ambassador/brand manager type person, this is kind of par for the course at the global brand team level.

    • Isabella says:

But where are the tastemakers or celebs or investors that Jack is supposed to be entertaining. I don’t see the company benefit. He’s not even drinking tequila.

I don’t think he’s a bad person but maybe terrible at his job.

The royals have been selling him as the perfect husband and family man. This is off-brand. He looks foolish and that rubs off on them. It will take work to fix that.

      • Ange says:

It’s entirely possible being papped is part of a larger set of promotional events. I doubt this boat trip was the only shindig they’d put on.

  43. TeeMajor says:

hmph, well I am not believing Fergie, she has told some tall tales in her lifetime.

he must be giving her monthly mother-in-law monies, you know to keep her afloat.

I would never want her to speak up for me, never.

  44. DS9 says:

I really dislike it when people declare that the lines for their marriage should be the lines for everyone’s marriage.

I also dislike the term “optics” and how the pearl clutching over how something could look is more important than what is actually going on.

Eugenie, her husband, the Sussexes, etc should not have to live up to some high standard just because they are in the public eye. And no one who is seen them in public need to change their own behavior out of fear of “optics”.

    • Isabella says:

You do realize this is a gossip site?

      • katie says:

I’m sure they do realize that and that is why they are posting their opinion, which btw, is a very reasonable opinion and one I agree with.

    • candy says:

I get what youre saying and I often feel like this message gets echoed by the poly crowd. The thing is, I doubt Eugenie and Jack have that kind of arrangement, so people are judging based of the tone they set for themselves publicly, not an archetype. You can’t present the image of “perfect life, perfect family, perfect Christian wedding” and then expect people not to point out contrary optics.

      • A says:

“You can’t present the image of “perfect life, perfect family, perfect Christian wedding””

When did Jack and Eugenie EVER do this? Particularly Eugenie, who famously got sloshed with her school friends at Marlborough College after going out to a pub with them, and the proceeded to take off her clothes on the school lawn? Eugenie, who reputedly danced on a table and took off her clothes at a place called the Sophisticats Gentleman’s Club?

They’re not even public figures working for the monarchy, that they need to be called out for their image management. Both of them have jobs and an income. They don’t rely on tax payer money, they don’t get money from the civil list. They literally don’t owe us, the audience and the larger public, any answers, bc they’re not exactly putting themselves out there for any purpose. It’s never been a secret that Jack Brooksbank works as a brand ambassador for a tequila company, just like it’s never been a secret that Eugenie (and her sister for that matter) was a hot mess of her own for a decade.

People are taking this in a way that’s just way too personal for a pair of people that simply don’t exist in that way in the public sphere.

      • Lorelei says:

@A, you ripped into Ginger for her comments about Eugenie in this very thread, and now you yourself just listed a litany of things Eugenie did that apparently you deem inappropriate, then called her a hot mess. If you think she was a hot mess for a decade, fine— you have every right to express your opinion here. But so does Ginger and everyone else.

    • M says:

      Then don’t read the comments.

  45. candy says:

I don’t think this was anything to do with his promotional duties. But he was taking pictures that ended up on Instagram, so I don’t think he was trying to hide anything either. He’s never struck me as the perfect husband/father/loyal partner. He was a club promoter and now works as a brand ambassador for Tequila, all because of his royal connection. That’s a certain lifestyle. Aristocrats are used to all this and definitely live by different rules. I don’t think he’s a cheater, but he’s entitled/privileged/white/male. It shows in his posturing in those photos, imo. Also, why are there so many women and no men around?

    • Sigmund says:

Idk, I can’t think of many wealthy/entitled white men who party like this and aren’t cheaters. It always comes out sooner or later.

It speaks volumes to me that Jack still has this job after his baby was born months ago. If he wanted to look for other sources of income, he could.

      • candy says:

Yea, good point. It’s probably a case of sooner or later…he might not be cheating but he’s definitely in the neighborhood.

  46. Songs (Or it didnt happen) says:

Hot take: it’s disrespectful of many of us to put words in Eugenia’s mouth by saying or implying that because she had a baby a few months ago, she is less confident about her appearance or sexual appeal, which is my read on a lot of this. She may feel fucking amazing and powerful. She also has a lot of help, so she is not “at home with the baby while he is out partying”.

Also, as other posters have pointed out, Jackie Boy may be hanging out with some models on a boat. But he isnt throwing his sister in law to racist wolves, trimming rose bushes, selling Nazi themed party supplies, refusing to take his child’s phone calls, or trading $$$ for access to royals. So, I mean, weigh it

    • A says:

THANK YOU! Finally! Bless you for at long last pointing this sh-t out. The dichotomy that people are drawing between “topless women on a yacht” and “Eugenie sitting at home elbows deep in diapers taking care of a screaming baby” without even a moment of self-reflection their thinking speaks volumes about so many people.

    • Lorelei says:

@Songs, this is a post about Jack and Eugenie so of course people are commenting about them. In *no way* does that mean we absolve the misdeeds of the other royals, which are all far worse than Jack partying on a boat. I can (and do) think that it wasn’t a good look for Jack to be photographed like that, and at the same time, still think Charles is a POS and a terrible father, that Carole is just an abhorrent person all around, and that the failure of the entire family to defend the Sussexes publicly is a stain they will never be rid of.

  47. Freddy says:

HAHA! I love how DM made it sound as if Jack was being a lech while his poor wife was in a small dark flat back home trying to shoosh a crying baby while the tea kettle whistled and the dog barked at the postman.

  48. SusanRagain says:

    Fergie, give it up, Dear.
Fergie seems to be spending an awful lot of time defending and declaring several members of The Firm i.e. Andrew, both SILs as “wonderful, decent, upstanding, whatever, blah, blah, blah”
If only Prince Phillip was here to call her on her BS!

    • Agreatreckoning says:

“If only Prince Philip was here to call her on her BS!”.

Now, that actually sounds like something Philip would have wanted!

  49. ExpatInTheUK says:

Outrage over this makes me realise how little regular people actually get to see of the lifestyle of the rich and famous. I know people who have worked in the fashion/entertainment industries and have been to these types of promotional events with the high net worth or famous crowd. Alcohol free flowing, drug use, nudity occurring in work situations – no one bats an eye. Not to say that this is standard but it’s not unusual from what I’ve heard. Jack’s partying on the yacht with a lady that decided to take her top off hardly blips in the scandal radar for me after hearing all my friends’ stories.

Also, as mentioned above, this narrative makes it seem like Eugenie is stuck at home taking care of a baby while her husband is out partying. The reality is more likely that she has nannies for her baby and several hired help to deal with her household (I make a tiny fraction of what these people earn and even I have a nanny!). Eugenie can go partying if she chooses to.

I do feel sympathy for Eugenie in that whatever her feelings may be about her husband’s actions, I’m sure seeing this unflattering narrative play out so publicly in the tabloids and her mother getting involved is embarrassing in the best case and traumatic in the worst case.

    • A says:

I was reading a really old, archived magazine article about the release party that the band Queen had for one of their albums from either 1973 or 1974, and there was at least one picture of Freddie Mercury signing his autograph on a girl’s ass with a Sharpie. Compared to that, this was pretty much a nothingburger.

Maybe I’m wrong, maybe it makes Eugenie look bad. But as I keep mentioning repeatedly, between the two of them, she was and likely still is much more of a partier by far. She’s spent up to a decade of her adult life being papped doing far worse sh-t than this. Her mother is f-cking Sarah Ferguson. I highly doubt Eugenie gives a sh-t about any of this, or that she’s really in tears about how the media (and people) are choosing to see her as some kind of sad put-upon wife. Why in the world we’re characterizing her as some frumpy, frazzled house frau is beyond me, and again, the fact that people ascribe this image to her is honestly making me raise an eyebrow.

  50. Ihatestupidpeople says:

Omg. This is exactly what it looks like folks….

  51. Sam Brown says:

    @A – you are my hero <3

  52. Well Wisher says:

Fergie has got it right in terms of her daughters – they will not endure the pangs of the press. She has been consistent and her comment is in keeping with this ethos.

  53. Jes says:

Or… what if all of this is a scheme to get more press for their tequila brand?

  54. iconoclast59 says:

At the risk of sounding like a member of the tinfoil beanie brigade, I’d like to posit… Perhaps this is a setup? The women involved were there as employees or contracted models, not guests, correct? I have a hard time believing that a woman would risk her professional reputation by stripping down at a work-related function. If I pulled a stunt like that at my company, I would likely be pink-slipped, and even if I weren’t, I’d certainly be taken off the promotion track. Granted, I don’t work in the “adult beverage” industry, so maybe it’s different there, but I can’t picture their legal/HR departments being A-okay with this sort of thing. Too much of a minefield PR-/liability-wise. But what if someone PLANTED those women to compromise Brooksbank? Maybe the Russians did; it fits their MO, and it’s certainly causing some chaos, which furthers their aim of destabilizing the Western world. You know, death by a thousand cuts.
