VP Kamala Harris delayed her flight to Hanoi after a case of ‘Havana Syndrome’

This morning, some of the political reporters noted that Vice President Kamala Harris’s flight from Singapore had been delayed for hours with no reason given at the time. VP Harris is on a diplomatic mission through several Asian countries, all allies of the US, and she was due to fly from Singapore to Hanoi today. The flight ended up being delayed for three and a half hours and no one on her staff gave a reason for it while they were in Singapore or while they were (finally) in the air. It was a big mystery. And now we know why: there was a likely case of “Havana Syndrome,” which VP Harris’s staff is calling a “possible anomalous health incident” in Hanoi.

Vice President Kamala Harris was delayed from traveling to Vietnam Tuesday after her office was made aware of a possible case of the so-called Havana Syndrome, a mysterious illness that has plagued U.S. diplomats across the world.

A statement released by the State Department said Harris’ office was made aware of “a report of a recent possible anomalous health incident,” in Vietnam’s capital city of Hanoi, referring to what the U.S. government has previously described as Havana Syndrome.

“After careful assessment, the decision was made to continue with the Vice President’s trip,” the statement said, without offering any further details.

Harris was wrapping up a three-day trip in Singapore, where she delivered a foreign policy speech accusing China of coercion and intimidation for its military provocations in the South China Sea. She also announced the U.S. is offering to host the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in 2023 as a sign of U.S. commitment to the region.

[From USA Today]

For what it’s worth, American diplomats and intelligence officers don’t refer to it as Havana Syndrome, that’s more of a media-created diagnosis/name for what’s happening. It basically started when America reopened our embassy in Havana – several people attached to the embassy began experiencing terrible headaches and even some brain damage, like someone would get from a traumatic brain injury. After the Havana incidents, there were internal CIA and State Dept. investigations into what was happening and no one has ever really confirmed what it is. They think it’s Russia experimenting with a new weapon, something like a targeted radio-frequency. If Harris delayed her flight, it was because there were security concerns that she and her staff were about to be targeted by some kind of unknown weapon.

Update: WTF.

I was just thinking this morning how some day’s I wake up and remember that Kamala Harris is our VP, and I smile. So much awful in the world right now, but I’m still giddy when I think about it.

Interesting. I assumed she was in town because I saw a Sikorsky landing at the Naval Observatory yesterday afternoon. (And yeah, it was kinda cool to think the helicopter transports a female exec, finally.)

Canadian researchers said the “Havana Syndrome” (specifically the Cuba incident) was likely over zealous use of pesticides, since fears of Zika are so common in the developing world. I think these subsequent incidents are psychosomatic. Much in the same way American cops think that they can overdose on fentanyl by being in the same room as it – mass panics and placebo effects are real.

The “weaponized microwave ray” technology that US intelligence officers have theorized also just simply don’t exist. Not only does it not exist, but the theory necessitates that this technology was then also “miniaturized”. Actual scientists who study microwave rays have called it science fiction.

I’d love to see cites on this. because it is a much less scary theory than people’s brains being microwaved!

I don’t think this is the Canadian government’s position… canadian diplomats and their families (including kids) have long term brain damage from this. Apparently some dips in Vienna were targeted recently too, so I doubt it’s just psychological. I just think no one can confirm what IT actually is.

There have been more than 130 US government officials hit by the Havana Syndrome, I hope the VP stays safe.

If this is someone using radio waves or something along those lines, I sure hope they’re figuring out a kind of radar system to locate and stop it.
