Olivia Jade Giannulli will probably be a contestant on Dancing with the Stars. Pretty loose definition of “star,” as always. [Dlisted]

Why are non-Americans jealous of Americans? Because of our “I Voted” stickers and our seasonal Halloween shops, apparently. [Buzzfeed]

    Lol…of course she will.

In the picture on the gondola, Jake looks like he smells bad.

  3. Eurydice says:

Lay’s plain potato chips, Heinz ketchup, Hellman’s mayo, Grey Poupon mustard, Kiehl’s 133 conditioner (for detangling) – other than those, I’m pretty much Market Basket brand or whatever is on sale. There are other products that I prefer, like Chanel lipstick and nail polish, but that doesn’t mean I won’t buy something else that’s more affordable.

And oddly, I’ve never heard of Spirit Halloween, but there seem to be several in towns around me. Huh, I pretty much just wear my Star Trek uniform every year.

    • Maria says:

I’m always disappointed in Chanel nail polishes and don’t know if I’m doing something wrong, lol, I have Ballerina, Organdi and Blanc White and they always chip (even with base coat, top coat, and removing all oils from my nails beforehand!) and get goopy so quickly. Beautiful colors though! I love Chanel makeup so it makes me sad!

      • Eurydice says:

Huh, maybe they’ve changed the formula? I treat myself on my birthday and have colors that I bought years ago – they’re still fine and I’ve never had a problem with chipping. But, yes, the colors are amazing.

    • Wiglet Watcher says:

      Tampax
Has to be that brand even if others are equal for less.
      And a few clothing brands…
Sperry for shoes. American eagle or express for jeans. Banana republic even though the same items appear in their sister store old navy for waaayyy less.

  4. Tiffany says:

    Doritos.

I will never settle for anything else and get pissed when I place my online order and I get a call saying they are sold out.

And Gatorade Fruit Punch. Same feeling.

And Non Americans should not be jealous of those I voted stickers, it just shows how difficult it was for us to register and how long we had to wait in line to do it. Almost every nation automatically register you and make voting easier and for that, I am very jealous.

  5. toodle says:

And THAT is why gammy norris (jada pinkett-smth’s mom) said this girl will be ok and there’s no need for the sympathy platform of red table talk.

  6. mellie says:

We don’t have Spirit Halloween, but at least 2-3 generic Halloween stores pop up in our town every year, yet we can’t keep a Macy’s open and our only Bed Bath and Beyond looked to me when I was in there last week like it was getting ready to close. (and I love Halloween, but damn…)

  7. Mireille says:

Laughing at the non-Americans jealous of Americans because of Spirit of Halloween and Trader Joe’s (a Canadian made this comment). Yes, we love our Halloween and our Trader Joe’s. As a New Yorker, I love our parades. In NYC, the best parades are the Halloween, Gay Pride, Immigrant, and Mermaid Parade. We get decked out full on costume with humor and pride. I miss those parades…damn Covid.

Not a Trader Joe’s fan though. Maybe it’s because my sister made me wait in a long, long, long line at Trader Joe’s once just so she can buy 2 boxes of their peppermint cream Oreo-like sandwich cookies. Seriously. Cookies.

    • FHMom says:

Their chocolate covered peppermint Oreo type cookies that come out for Christmas are the best. Totally worth standing in line for.

  8. Mabs A'Mabbin says:

    How much did THAT cost?

  9. bettyrose says:

Why wouldn’t non-Americans be jealous? We have freedom. FREEDOM! I don’t know what all the rest of you call the restrictive lives you have, forced into national health care schemes, government pensions, parental leave, guaranteed sick days – why wouldn’t you want a life where none of those things is forced upon you? Also, Texas. None y’all have Texas, jealous much?

  10. kelleybelle says:

Bless her tiny little, way oversurgeried nose. It may just disappear soon. Without her parents’ fame and money she’d go nowhere as there is very little between that girl’s ears.

  11. Rapunzel says:

Clinique! Love their makeup and skincare. Kiehls Creme de Corps body lotion/cream
    Mountain Mike’s for pizza.
    Necessaire for body wash/scrub

  12. Juliette says:

My biggest brand loyalties are Hawkins Cheezies, Canada Dry Ginger Ale and Chapman’s Ice Cream. It’s not a real cheezy if it’s not a Hawkins! I’ve tried others and none taste as good as good old Hawkins.

Canada Dry is the only one for me, Schwepp’s just doesn’t taste the same. Chapman’s is Canadian, real ice cream, the best!

    • Anners says:

Chapman’s fudgesicles are hands down the best! Kawartha Dairy for ice cream, though.

My brand loyalties are Coke, French’s mustard, and bath and body works hand soap. I’ve tried to use others and I always come back to these.

    • Golly Gee says:

Speaking of excellent Canadian products, I love Que Pasa tortilla chips. They always sell out at my neighborhood grocery store.

  13. AnnaC says:

Cain’s mayonnaise; it’s regional and when I lived in the south I’d have family ship it to me. I know people down south love their Duke’s Mayo but it just didn’t cut it for me.

The only other irrational loyalty I have is for Fig Newtons. The package and cookie size has gotten smaller over the years, while the price has gone higher, but they have to be the original, brand name, no substitutions will suffice. Graham crackers to a lesser extent too, they have to be Nabisco in the blue box.

Hair, makeup, etc. I’m pretty low maintenance and no holy grails.

  14. canichangemyname? says:

Good God, talk about “failing up.” I can’t LOL DWTS will basically take just about anyone.

    • Debbie says:

Now that’s unfair. I mean, DWTS didn’t take Trump’s first Press Secretary who was mainly known for lying. Oh, wait… No, you’re right. They WILL take just about anyone.

  15. Lizzie says:

I assume dwts will have an audience and she will be boo’ed off the stage. How exactly will they introduce her, semi-cute spoiled brat who cried for herself because her parents got caught breaking the law for her while she got off Scott free? D list adjacent? Girl who will spend her life asking Don’t you know who I am?

  16. psl says:

Ugh, we aren’t done with her?

  17. The Recluse says:

Well, at least there remains a few things that outsiders like/covet. Halloween is my FAVORITE season/holiday. From the great classic films on TCM and other schedules, to the stuff everywhere, I love it.

  18. faithmobile says:

Trader Joe’s, Heinz ketchup, hellman’s mayo, Juanita’s tortilla chips, Voodoo potato chips, synergy kombucha, cypress grove goat cheese…basically I could care less about non food related brands. Totally don’t understand the Spirit Halloween jealousy, ugh! halloween is my least favorite holiday, Dressing in costumes is so embarrassing as an adult and scary movies are the absolute worst! I’ll take a harvest festival, warm apple pie and a rainy leaf strewn walk followed with tea by the fire.

  19. Ann says:

I love Halloween but I don’t go to the Halloween Store. I buy stuff at Home Goods and Ross and sometimes on line to decorate my house, especially the outside. I grew up when we just did jack-lanterns so I was hesitant to go the giant inflatable route, but one year I got a giant light-up pumpkin ghost head thing and the kids loved it. I like getting trick-or-treaters and I go all out with the candy and little toys.

I live in Houston, by the way. There has been a giant mushroom cloud of rage over my head since yesterday. It’s not true that Texas is a “deep red” state. It isn’t Mississippi or Alabama; we only voted for Trump by about 5% and ALL the cities vote blue.

But yes, our state government SUCKS.

  20. Madpoe says:

    Bday boy Keanu Reeves ❤️

  21. Shanaynay says:

Wow! DWTS has sunk to a new low by having OJG on the show. This show is just a sad shell of its former self. It used to be good, that is until it started scraping the bottom of the barrel for some of their contestants like OJG. Even worse was when Bristol Palin was on.
