Did Kaley Cuoco’s marriage fail because she worked with Pete Davidson?

Pete Davidson and Kaley Cuoco filming 'Meet Cute' in NYC

As we discussed, Kaley Cuoco is divorcing her husband of three years, Karl Cook. She filed for divorce last Friday, the same day she and Karl issued a joint statement to People Magazine about their split. Kaley’s publicist also arranged a lil’ story on People about how Karl and Kaley’s friends were “stunned” because K&K seemed so happy at the start of the summer. So what happened over the summer? Um… Kaley Cuoco started working with Pete Davidson on Meet Cute. They were filming in New York, and paparazzi got a lot of photos of them on-set looking chummy. So now people are making that story happen.

So far, there’s actually nothing concrete, and Perez Hilton seems to be the only one really saying that there’s something there. In mid-August, Pete broke up with Phoebe Dynevor, which would have been about six weeks after he started working with Kaley. The argument people are making is that Kaley is “in love with love” and she’s J.Lo-esque in her desire to never be alone. So I tend to believe that Kaley probably has a jump-off, and hell, it might even be Pete. If she dumped her husband FOR Pete though… well, that’s a bad move. Pete is all about the three-month relationship, basically. This will end in heartbreak for Kaley, if that’s what is happening.

HER BANGS…

Pete Davidson is apparently, in the words of John Mayer, “s*xual napalm.”

    I just don’t get it.

    • ML says:

      Yeah, same.

    • Noki says:

I actually think that its not Peter with the ’3 months relationship’ deal,i think he actually gets dumped everytime.

      • Ainsley7 says:

Yeah, I think he’s one of those who gets serious too quickly types. So, it’s fun in the beginning, but then he basically scares them off.

      • Concern Fae says:

Which means he’s one of those passive aggressive assholes who won’t break up with a woman’ just behaves badly enough that she’ll dump him. Such toxic effin’ behavior, but men get away with it and even end up getting sympathy.

      • Jennifer says:

Yeah, I also think he is most likely the dumped rather than the dumper.

I think they said it ended with Phoebe because of the long distance, which is legit, especially during Covid.

    • Truthiness says:

I never thought he was that funny until I saw Pete with John Mulaney doing True Confessions with Jimmy Fallon (see Youtube). Plus another time John Mulaney had kind of a moving fish-out-of-water story on the Fallon show about inviting Pete to a Steely Dan concert. When he’s amongst friends just vibing, he can be funny and well BDE speaks for itself. Do I think Meet Cute will be a good movie? Oh hell no.

      • The Recluse says:

Pete and Mulaney did this off the wall review of a Clint Eastwood movie on SNL that I still remember. It was so snarky.

    • OriginalLala says:

is “s*xual napalm” a compliment? I’ve never been sure since JM said it years ago..nothing about napalm seems like a compliment lol

      • Ainsley7 says:

Yeah, I’ve never really understood what he meant by that. Like he said it as if it was a good thing, but Napalm is not a good thing. Like I guess he was going for like really hot, on fire, explosive and such and wanted to really emphasize just how hot and fiery she was. He failed because it definitely sounds like an insult. Like, without any context, I would assume sexual napalm was an insult.

      • AEvaJohnson says:

In the context, Mayer used it, yes. It was meant to be a compliment.

      • Jennifer says:

I assumed it meant she was highly orgasmic or something along those lines.

      • Pat says:

Ariana Grande said he’s got a Big Penis and he doesn’t tire easily. The model with the last name Gerber supposedly said she got with Pete because of the size of his penis, (she was curious about rumors of it) She also said he is large. However Pete Davison has some issues with mental health. I think he’s got multiple personality disorder and seems like he’s mentioned some schizophrenia in his family line as well. He’s struggled according to the interview I read. He and his mom live together, maybe it helps both of them balance out.

    • Lwt00 says:

I was coming to say he’s his generation’s John Mayer but top comment beat me to it.

He’s not my idea of atractive but maybe he’s just genuinely sweet, and it’s a breath of fresh air for these beautiful actress types?

  2. ML says:

I honestly do not understand Pete Davidson’s appeal unless he has some stealth mega charismatic personality??
That said, I kind of feel it’s unfair to blame him (if he and Kaley are even an item) if Kaley’s marriage hit the rocks as he wasn’t the one married.

    • Tom says:

My theory is he turns his headlights full on from the get go. He does it so it feels really flattering, not creepy. It only works on people who feel lonely but it does work.

And then, 3 months of this full-on headlights gets to be too much, she breaks up with him.

    • Notsusan says:

It’s something about the size of his penis, I believe. Per Kate Beckinsale.

      • Sally says:

It’s the size of the penis, not because of the actual thing but the confidence that comes with it. Davidson seems very confident but in a vulnerable and open manner, which isn’t that common in men. He seems like a fun stoner friend, who’ll approach you without any pretence or false shame, listen to your problems and understand them too because he’s been there. That’s like catnip to some people and while I personally don’t find him attractive, I can absolutely see why those successful women do.

  3. Noki says:

The only thing that surprised me from this write up is that perez hilton still exists,i thought he wasin some gossip graveyard.

    • Mary Mae says:

I think he sold the site years ago. It’s been years, but the last I checked in was after the sale because I was reminded of the site and was shocked it still existed.

That’s a time in gossip that I don’t want to remember. It was awful and I feel terrible I consumed anything from that site, since he made it very hard not to look because he knew exactly what he was doing to get eyeballs on his content.

    • LovesitinNM says:

      Right?

    • AmelieOriginal says:

I knew it was still around but I was under the impression Perez was no longer updating the site himself and had hired people to do the posting for himself. I didn’t even know he sold the site. I spent countless hours on his website in college (this was over 10 years ago) when the website was at its peak when I was procrastinating. I also am embarrassed at all the time I spent on it given how cruel and how much Perez bullied celebrities. I stopped checking it out around the time he had his “revelation” to be nicer and to stop outing celebrities. It just didn’t feel sincere and I think it was around the time I maybe discovered Celebitchy and I haven’t looked back since!

      • Meg says:

Wow i could’ve written that myself, i went through the exact same thing. I veered away from tmz because they were so clearly written by toxic males. Their tv show surprised me as it seemed less so for some reason though?

    • girl_ninja says:

He’s still out here being horrible even though he’s trying to pretend he’s not being horrible.

      • molly says:

I truly hope that man rots in hell.

      • Otaku fairy says:

Yep. In addition to outing people, he has displayed and continues to display some misogynistic, boundary-crossing behaviors toward teenage girls. Gross shit. He’s just toned it down a little. Britney was definitely aware of and hurt by his behavior too.

  4. mil says:

i know people in the riding world. Her husband cheated on her….. a lot. Don’t know if kaley & Pete got involved (seriously how does he get so many women?), but her husband was unfaithful for a long time.

The Jlo…stick with the cheating jerk until you find someone new, doesn’t seem far off.

for what its worth, shes supposedly very sweet.

    • Kiera says:

MIL I love riding world gossip! There was some great gossip a few years ago about Charlotte Casiraghi’s husband/baby daddy. Did you ever hear much about that?

      • AmelieOriginal says:

If you’re talking about Gad Elmaleh (her first baby daddy), not sure what gossip there is to tell. He was way older than her and never going to marry her and we all knew it was never going to last. He already had a huge following in France so he didn’t need Charlotte to boost his popularity. But I’m guessing you mean the guy she ended up marrying, he’s a French film producer and the son of a very famous French actress (Carole Bouquet) and a deceased French film producer (his father ODed when he was really young). Don’t know much about him otherwise.

      • snappyfish says:

I still the think the best circuit gossip was Athina & Doda. He openly cheated on her and she was fine until she walked in on him in her house. Then she finally kicked him to the curb. As for Charlotte and Gad was rumored to be something to upset her mother. The man is a French stand up comedian/sometime actor and really was never a part of the equestrian world. which is extremely small. Your ability to move in it is about access and then of course it comes down to money. Many attempt to buy their way in and it never really works. Most everyone is either of money or their ability is such they are sponsored by money, or they were born into it. Mots everyone thought Charlotte and Gad were “a thing” to get back at her family. She and Dimitri are really sweet together and it seems like a nice pairing. I did see Carole Bouquet at an event recently and she is really really gorgeous.

As for Cook. He cheats a lot up until their marriage which is why they “all of a sudden” got married. I never heard any rumors about his cheating while they were married but he is a big flirt & somewhat shady. He walks around the circuit (he is a really accomplished rider) with great confidence in his ability and that he is a known billionaire’s son. It seems she promised not to act for awhile after TBBT and then she agreed to do the Flight Attendant. He wanted they to tour the circuit without any disruptions and she wanted to work. She is also a really good rider but she wants to act. So it seems they went into marriage with different ideals.

I am interested, and have said this before, what the horse world fallout will be as it is very small and people will take sides quickly

      • snappyfish says:

Athina walked in on Doda. he didn’t know she was coming for a few more days and she wanted to surprise him…surprise. Her Security told her many times that he wasn’t to be trusted but she was “in love”. He was AWFUL to her. Told her in public her legs were too fat and she would run off and have lips. I am really happy, considering her family history, that she finally is free of him.

      • Naomi says:

It’s almost like handsome guys who travel a lot don’t make good husbands.

      • Q says:

Why would Charlotte want to ‘get back at her family’?

      • Snappyfish says:

@Q. It was the typical dating who your family disapproves of. Caroline, oddly enough considering her 1st choice of husband, was quite controlling around the time Charlotte stared up w/Gad

    • Digital Unicorn says:

Doesn’t surprise me – look at what happened to Athina Onassis and her ex who also constantly cheated on her.

      • Galisteo says:

Yes, the Athina story was very surprising, wasn’t it her security detail that told her? They saw what he was up to in the house while she was away.

mil – your info makes me have a lot of empathy for Kaley now. Do you know why they didn’t move in together after first married?

      • snappyfish says:

sorry I posted higher up. Athina walked in on Doda. He hadn’t expected her for a few more days. Her security told her he was shady but she wouldn’t listen. She did toss him out on his arse .Considering her family history I am really glad she got rid of him.

  5. Nina says:

Pete seems goofy and funny, also he love bombs. I can see how after dealing with guys who are cheating on you, playing games, making it all about them, Pete’s approach might seem like a balm. I’m not saying it’s healthy. But I imagine that’s what happens

    • Monica says:

He just looks so scuzzy. Maybe he just takes a bad picture. He’s apparently got… something… though.

      • Jennifer says:

His fashion sense is terrible (though I applaud him getting rid of a lot of his tats) but he always seems pretty nice, and he’s really open about his shit going on with him. I find that refreshing.

I’m not saying I’d date him per se or that he would date me, but I’ve always kinda had a soft spot for him and root for him.

  6. Twin falls says:

I’ve liked her since TBBT. If her husband was a long time cheat and hanging out with Pete cheered her up, good. I hope there is a solid pre-nup and it’s a clean break. Divorce sucks.

  7. Case says:

Kaley and Karl always seemed weird to me. He made fun of her on social media a lot — posting embarrassing pictures and stuff like that — which could’ve just been their humor, but it raised a red flag for me. He seemed to really enjoy laughing at her.

    • Normades says:

He might be one of those jerks who likes to put down their partner so they don’t feel “too comfortable” in the relationship. Insecure men do that all the time.

    • Galisteo says:

You mean like what Russell Brand did towards Katy Perry?

    • Fleur says:

It was a red flag to me the way he seemingly enjoyed embarrassing her on social media consistently too. The same way that Russell Brand posted that terrible makeup free pic of Katy in the middle of the night , Carl would post that stuff consistently. He said it was to show the world she’s human like the rest of us , but it felt degrading. Also they didn’t live together for some time post marriage, which confuses me .

Breakups suck, and I wish kaley well

      • Meg says:

To show the world shes like the rest of us? kaley is seen natural frequently leaving a workout class, horse back riding etc she doesnt look all dolled up constantly like jlo or something so that reasoning for Karl doesnt make sense to me.
After their wedding i remember him posting a video of her snoring after a medical procedure she had and was out on pain meds, id hate if my husband did that but thought maybe it was her sense of humor? Nice to k ow i wasnt the only one rubbed the wrong way by that though

  8. Size Does Matter says:

Geez Pete needs to shave. He looks like a 14yo trying to pass for 21.

  9. Red Dog says:

    One word: Showjumpers.

  10. molly says:

Kaley NO. Pete is absolutely no good. Go be rich and pretty and successful without that one.

  11. SusanRagain says:

I am guessing here but, if the Hubby was a cheater that is reason enough to divorce him.
Why put up with cheating. Ever?
Rachel Greens’ Mom was correct. “Once a cheater always a cheater.”

I’ve heard iron clad pre-nups were in place = good.

I find Pete Davidson neither funny or attractive. I will give him points for height. lol

    • Normades says:

Yup. My theory is Pete is not the reason for her divorce but that doesn’t rule out he could be rebound material. BDE, funny, probably a good shoulder to cry on…

    • Lady D says:

I’m glad she has a pre-nup, she’s smart that way. For what it’s worth he has twice what she has, and daddy is a billionaire.

    • lucy2 says:

LOL I always hear that “once a cheater” quote in my head every time cheating is discussed.
      I don’t get Pete’s appeal either.

  12. LidiaJara says:

As someone who liked Pete before he dated Ariana Grande and blew up I get bummed at the POS narrative. I feel like most people have never watched an interview with him and assume his adolescent humor is the sum of his personality.

He’s actually a super thoughtful and kind person. And he definitely love bombs, is clingy, and has a really hard time maintaining an even keel. He talks about this a lot. My sister has BPD and PTSD, like Pete, and those diagnoses are A LOT. Pete takes ownership of his failings, takes his meds, goes to therapy twice a week, and holds down a job. He also self-medicates and sometimes crashes in a big way. He knows he’s hard to date. He knows he should do better. He knows his dream of getting married and having babies will be harder for him than for people who don’t have BPD.

He talks a lot in interviews about the different behavioral techniques he studies in therapy and the progress he’s made. It’s been a positive touchstone for a lot of other people going through similar challenges.

He’s doing a lot better than my sister and honestly it kind of sucks that people write him off as a douche.

    • CourtneyB says:

I get the same. He’s probably not a great boyfriend, at least for the long term, but he doesn’t seem like an asshole to me. I like that he and Chris Evans and other male celebs talk openly about anxiety and mental illness.

      • ME says:

I do feel bad for him though. This time of year is probably very hard for him as he lost his father on 9/11 2001. I am sure this has a lot to do with his emotional issues and attachment issues. He actually does seem like a nice guy. He seems like the type of guy who will make you his world and make you feel super special. I am sure many girls like that but then the lure of it all runs out and boom he’s single again. I just watched his movie “The King of Staten Island” and I really enjoyed it.

    • Lizzie says:

I don’t know that much about him but I do remember Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber papped hanging outside his building and apparently their daughter was seeing him and there was a big problem. Working theory at the time was he was threatening suicide and she freaked out and called her parents. Sorry if it was true and also sorry if it was only rumor.

    • Cat C says:

Agreed. I like him. I don’t ALWAYS think he’s funny but he has a certain charm. I like funny and a great smile, though. I think he’s been dealt an incredibly tough hand and he’s gotten better in taking ownership for his actions. You can tell he still struggles though but has a good heart. I’d wonder if the breakdown of his relationships aren’t more, he realizes he needs to put focus on himself or that the girlfriend at the moment realizes he’s more complex than what they are able to support.

I think of Robin Williams & his wives a lot when I think of Pete.

    • Jennifer says:

Seconded! I wish him all the best, but life’s hard for him.

  13. M says:

I don’t get the attraction to a man who always looks like he just came down off some bad sh*t. Not to mention he looks like he smells.

  14. SusanRagain says:

    M says,
I gotta laugh at your comment because I am an old lady and most of the current male celebs strike me as “needs a bath, haircut, shave” kinda guys.

Wealthy celebs who look like they slept on a park bench = no good.

  15. Otaku fairy says:

He’ll be fine regardless of what did or didn’t go down. I don’t think he’s the reason for their split though.

  16. Rea says:

I am glad we are at a time when divorce is not taboo. I hope KC finds someone but Pete is not it. He reminds me of a broken project that people want to fix. I also get vibes that he can’t be a lone while people on this site may be saying JLO nope Pete wins this one by a mile. I always thought Pete was scared to be alone due to his past so he seeks people to offset that & become someone else for a brief moment. His carefree persona just masks his low self esteem and inability to know who he really is. He won’t be in a long-term relationship until he works on himself first.

  17. Jenn says:

She is precious, and so, so talented. Although I don’t really know anything about any of her previous LTRs, I admit I’ve been kind of suspicious of all of them. Like… they maybe don’t have her best interest at heart. Anyway. If it takes a lil’ crush to get out of a bad situation, I’m all for it. (I do wish all parties would do some intensive therapy and heal up, but ugh I get it — work calls.)

  18. AnnaC says:

I looked at his IG yesterday, he did one of his walking and talking videos about various competition rounds. Have to say, IMO, he came across as still a bit stunned and sad at the turn of events. While he simply addressed the elephant in the video by saying he wasn’t going to address it, very much sounded like a very quick, sudden split. Agree with others surmising cheating, though no idea on which side, could see either (though I also don’t get the Pete Davidson appeal). Notice the split statement said nothing about remaining friends, etc. Guess make a clean break of it. Financially they will both be just fine, and based on their IG’s doubt there will be any issue with the dogs either. Horses/stables never combined anyway.
