Hannah Waddingham in Christian Siriano at the Emmys: pretty in pink?

One of my favorite things about Ted Lasso is seeing Hannah Waddingham enjoy everything about the show, the promotion and the awards. Hannah seems like maybe the coolest person in the world, and she was having the time of her life at last night’s Emmys. It helped that her category was first up, and that she won so early. She got to dance, party and cheer for everybody without any trace of angst for the rest of the night. No one was having more fun than her. And Ted Lasso kept winning: it picked up Emmys for Brett Goldstein (Roy Kent), Jason Sudeikis (Ted Lasso himself) and the show won for Best Comedy.

Hannah also has a bangin’ body, and she decided to showcase that bangin’ body in this pink Christian Siriano dress. Was it my favorite? Not really. Do I think she’s styled better on Lasso? Yes. It’s the Mad Men thing – all of those women looked better on the show, so it was kind of disappointing to see them styled for an awards show. Still, I’m happy for Hannah and she had a great night. Oh, and Seth Rogen mispronounced her name but oh well.

Here’s Juno Temple in Versace. Not my favorite look, but she looked cute and genuinely happy for Hannah.

Jason Sudeikis wore Tom Ford and he made sure everyone knew that it was a group effort.

I thought that was Pink in the thumbnail.

  2. Southern Fried says:

Her smile. It’s so brilliant. As always Hannah looks fabulous and deserved the win. I’m so in love with Ted Lasso.

I just started watching Ted Lasso last week… already caught up. Such a feel good show. And between this and the Great British Baking show….I’m even more obsessed with England.

And Hannah…I’m literally infatuated with what a gorgeous person she is…when she’s on the screen…I’m hypnotized!!!

    • minx says:

She has a dazzling smile! Ted Lasso is my favorite show and I’m happy for all of them, so well deserved.

      • BothSidesNow says:

It is well deserved all around!! As soon as I get my notice it’s available to watch, I’m on it!!

I love the entire cast, the writing and the actors. They certainly are a lovely group to watch and you never know what you will see each episode, as last weeks was kind of dark and depressing.

I think Hannah looks fabulous, even if it’s pink! She knows how to accentuate what she has and she has it!!

  3. Merricat says:

Hannah was fabulous last night, her obvious love for everyone she works with, especially Juno, and just her utter joy and support for everyone. I love her.

  4. Becks1 says:

Aw I’m so glad Ted Lasso won so many awards. It really is the best show. There’s so much emotion (happy and sad) in every scene.

  5. Harper says:

Loved Hannah and Brett Goldstein getting the wins. Goldstein’s Roy Kent is so deliciously grouchy in the show; it was a treat to briefly see/hear the real person behind the character.

    • smcollins says:

I’d never heard him speak outside of portraying Roy and was so surprised by his natural voice/accent! His win is well deserved, as well as Hannah’s, Jason’s and the show as a whole. I haven’t been this invested in a show since probably Game of Thrones, which coincidentally took me a couple of episodes to finally realize why Hannah looked so familiar but couldn’t quite put my finger on it (talk about being a versatile actress!).

Could have done without the droopy bow tie, but Jason’s suit is quite nice. It’s always refreshing when men take chances on the red carpet because if not there, then where? Perhaps it could have been fitted a bit better, especially the pants, but the color is so nice it almost makes up for it.

    • Erica says:

Yes! I wish more men would take chances like he did. I was honestly wondering if he would show up in jeans and a sweatshirt though LOL

      • terra says:

@Erica: Ooh, but how good would a sweatshirt and maybe matching sweatpants in this fabric have been, though? Could have been a look all it’s own, lol!

Juno Temple’s outfit looks like she’s ready for the VMAs circa 2001.

  8. PeacefulParsley says:

I’m glad to hear her plug West End actors; they really are a cut above in terms of discipline and talent. I love to watch British TV, and I’m no longer surprised to see theatre work in the resumes of actors I find impressive on screen.

    • Merricat says:

British actors have never seemed to have an ego about whatever medium they’re working in, which I love. I also love that so many British actors are real-looking, by which I mean they’re not all beauty-contest winners.

    • Stephanie says:

I loved that too – what a great shout out!

    • Natters5 says:

I feel that whilst British actors continually work on their craft American actors seem to concentrate more on their image and PR. So in the end they lose work to the Brits.

  9. Jane Q. Doe says:

I thought she looked AMAZING. It’s a pretty dress and she wears it smokingly. Probably helps she’s 6 feet tall, proportions work better/are easier.
But no one had more fun and was more supportive last night than her and the Ted Lasso crew – made my viewing evening even better!

I don’t always get Juno’s style, but this outfit was my favorite of all she’s worn during awards season for sure. The love and affection between she & Hannah is a total delight.

  10. Twin falls says:

I love love love this show and Rebecca and Roy are my favorite characters. So happy for their wins! I think Hannah is just gorgeous. Her smile is perfection. Whatever It is, she has it.

  11. lucy2 says:

I love Hannah and am glad she won! Brett too. I’m a few episodes behind still, but I love the show.
I love the draping of Hannah’s, but not the bodice. Don’t care for Juno’s look.

  12. 123Qwerty says:

I know it Tom Ford, but the Blue Boy is going to regret that suit and tie.

  13. Jenn says:

Ms Waddingham is a confection. Side-by-side the entire cast looks terrific. Makes me really happy for all of them.

  14. CoffeChamp says:

Hannah is and looked amazing. I wish Juno’s styling was … something other but they are great on Ted Lasso.

  15. kimmy says:

I thought Jason Sudeikis looked really handsome last night. I enjoyed the suit and his floppy hair. I’ve never once found him attractive and now, I for sure would….

  16. Meee says:

I must be the only person who thinks Ted Lasso is meh. Yes, it’s feel good but sheesh it’s predictable. I can guess the next lines out of the actors mouth. And I like laugh out loud comedies….which I haven’t done whilst watching it. Oh well. Kudos to them.

    • Becks1 says:

The second season is a lot less predictable IMO and a lot better than the first. For me, the surprise of the first season wasn’t the plot itself so much as the fact that a show got made about a nice man just being nice and doing the best he can and having a positive effect on the people around him. The second season has more twists.

      • Merricat says:

They planned for it to be three seasons, so the character arcs have been carefully structured to follow their trajectories over that time.

      • amilou says:

Oh, see I completely disagree, @Becks1. I thought the first season could be a perfect little capsule show, and I’m struggling a bit with season 2.

  17. iconoclast59 says:

The only thing I didn’t like about Hannah’s dress is the visible underwire; otherwise, the color and fit are great. I love her hair and makeup.

  18. Meg says:

I didn’t even recognize juno! wow her face shape is completely different!

  19. Natters5 says:

I have had such a great time watching her interviews on the award circuit (and Roy’s too who is a very smiley person in real life) and expound her love for the cast and their love for each other. I came to the show late but I love it because it is a show about being kind to your fellow man. Also Jason Sudeikis proves living well is the best revenge. Olivia left a man for a boy.

  20. Lilly (with the double-L) says:

I didn’t know who she was (one streaming channel/app I don’t have), but I thought she was lovely and fun. So I clicked on this story. But, I really only watched the Emmys for Devery Jacobs, D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Lane Factor, Paulina Alexis and Sterling Harjo, from Reservation Dogs. Their presence touched me so much. Plus it’s an amazing show. Their red carpet, and show, looks were wonderful. I’m going to check out the gofugyourself site and see if they have coverage. Rutherford Falls is great too. Not that anyone asked me. 🙂

  21. MGBush504 says:

I loved it. It wasn’t my favorite cut, but with a body like her’s, she pulled it off. Also, I’m so glad they won the categories they did. Jason is brilliant, and I have never identified with a character/actor life Roy Kent/Brett Goldstein. A potty mouth with a heart of gold who has no problem intimidating kids when necessary.

  22. Jen says:

I remember Juno from her earlier films, such as Atonement and Wild Child. Haven’t seen her in much since then but she has lost a huge amount of weight. She used to have such a glowing face, I realise she’s also older but she looks like a completely different person. Personally I don’t think it suits her.

    • Natters says:

Yes, she looks totally different than she did in Vinyl and that’s because she’s so skinny now her face is now very angular. She’s still a great actress though.

  23. Grant says:

I am so happy for Hannah. She is divine on Ted Lasso. I hope Juno wins next year because she’s also great. I love the Rebecca/Keeley friendship, it’s one of my favorite relationships on the show.
