Prince William & Kate will attend next week’s ‘No Time to Die’ world premiere

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attend the EE British Academy Film Awards ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall.

The latest James Bond movie, No Time To Die, saw its release delayed repeatedly. But it’s finally happening – the theatrical release is now October 8th, and they’ve scheduled a big, splashy world premiere in London at the Royal Albert Hall for September 28th. So there’s no backing down now. As for the London premiere, predictably it’s going to be a “royal premiere.” BAFTA president Prince William will attend with his keen wife, and Prince Charles and Camilla are also scheduled to attend:

The Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are to attend the glittering world premiere of the new Bond film No Time To Die next week. Charles, Camilla, William and Kate will step out on to the red carpet to meet 007 star Daniel Craig and other cast members including Rami Malek, Lea Seydoux and Lashana Lynch at the Royal Albert Hall in London on Tuesday September 28.

The royal foursome will also be introduced to screenwriters Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, and singer Billie Eilish and her musician brother Finneas O’Connell, who co-wrote the new Bond theme song. Charles, Camilla, William and Kate will also meet producers Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli and director Cary Joji Fukunaga.

A number of healthcare workers and members of the armed forces will join the royals in the auditorium to watch the movie as a thank you for their work during the Covid pandemic. The world premiere will benefit charities supporting serving and former members of the three intelligence agencies – the Secret Intelligence Service, the Security Service and GCHQ – as well as charities supporting past and present members of the UK Special Forces.

Heir to the throne Charles is patron of the British Film Institute, while his son William is president of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (Bafta).

[From The Evening Standard]

Wait for it, they’re going to bill them as “the New Fab Four.” Mark my words. Charles and Camilla will “replace” Harry and Meghan, as if two rotten old senior citizens could somehow capture the glamour of H&M. What other predictions do we have? Kate will wear something very eye-catching but ill-fitting. Something probably covered in buttons and chintz. She’ll try to flirt with Daniel Craig and William will ignore her. Charles is a James Bond fan though – he’s visited the sets of several Bond movies, and he knows the people behind-the-scenes pretty well. Anyway, something to look forward to.

RR, please tell me again these people are not but glorified celebrities,

    • Pao says:

Right? They want to diss meghan & harry labeling them “Hollywood”. Whats more Hollywood than attending a movie premiere and walking the red carpet?

Anyway im looking forward to seeing chemistry between william & kate (or rather lack of chemistry)

      • Melly says:

        This!!!!

Can you imagine if Megs and Harry attended a film premiere? we would never hear the end of it.

      • Kasalvy says:

@Melly They did: they went to the Lion King premiere with Beyonce and Jay-Z a few years back. The RR were out for blood that Harry was trying to get Meghan a job

  2. mae says:

Is she actually going to do any…substantial engagements any time soon? (I say she because William has done a few.)

    • MJM says:

No. Now that Meghan’s in CA she’ll do even less.

    • lizziebee says:

I was wondering exactly the same thing..One short engagment last week and nothing since then. Looks like all the European Royals are back at work and have been for the past few weeks..crikey even one or two of our Royals have been back at it, except for…Kate. Not so keen it would seem….

  3. Jan90067 says:

Premiers are just what those two live for. Funny, no one’s saying how “Hollywood” this is, or that they’re Royals, not “celebrities”. And no one is bringing up how this is one of the few times TOBB attends a BAFTA event willingly. The others, he can’t be bothered to attend, even when held in his OWN HOME, KP.

Kate, of course, will have a new dress and/or an old dress we’ve only seen once, and thousands of pounds of new jewelry. Cam will wear a shmata we’ve all seen a hundred times, and probably turn up a little tipsy lol

    • booboocita says:

I know Cam’s schmatta will be designer or at least high-priced. All the same, I’d KILL to see her roll up to some event in a cotton-poly blend muumuu or caftan, old slip-ons, and a ton of jewelry, three sheets to the wind. I can just see her yelling at Chucky and dressers: “Fck it, I’m old. I wanna be comfortable.”

  4. Nyro says:

I’m predicting a lovely grandmother-of-the bride ensemble from Unable, lots of weird “newly separated and seeing each other for the first time in three weeks” energy, and a tepid response from the crowd.

    • Layla says:

That hairstyle she’s trying to make as her own signature was actually the same style Meghan used on her wedding. She does this a lot. She copied so many things off Meghan but does them way to often so that people are made to believe they’re her signature looks. There’s nothing more narcissistic and insecure than that. You’ll defo see that hairstyle on this event. I also wouldn’t be surprised if we see some olive or something off-shoulder 🙄

      • Lorelei says:

@Layla do you happen to know when the engagement that she wore that light blue dress in the above pics is from? I can usually remember stuff like that, but I’m blanking this time.

Also lmao at the thought of her wearing olive green. That would be epically hilarious.

      • Becks1 says:

@Lorelei – it’s from either the Spectre or Skyfall premiere. Definitely a Bond premiere though and before Meghan came on the scene.

ETA just confirmed it was Spectre in 2015

      • Layla says:

@lorelei @becks1 I was referring to the hairstyle she’s done at the last two BAFTAs after Meghan came on the scene and at Charles party.
The light blue ones from the picture above were from before Meghan.

  5. myjobistoprincess says:

Kate will go extra extra on the dress i’m sure. She will not be compared to Camilla and will make the age difference evident. Camilla will already be drunk on arrival. The crowd will be dead with a cold reception at their entrance. Of course they think an event like this makes them look cool and young, when actually, because of their lack of actual serious work, it just seems lazy and lame. I love Albert Hall, it inspires stress and anxiety to some royals lol, it’s the place where they get laughed at and where there was cemetery silence when they walked in last time. lol

    • goofpuff says:

Which will be interesting to see if Kate can outdo Camilla since Kate likes dressing as a grandma however Camilla does that way better.

    • Lady D says:

Based on the glare on Kate’s face in the top picture when sitting, I think someone said something, and she didn’t like it.

      • SnoodleDumpling says:

That was 2019 BAFTAs, when Harry and Meghan had just left and a couple references to their exiting the royal industrial complex were dropped here and there by people accepting their awards.

I remember because that year they were asking people to recycle an outfit and be ecologically conscious with their dress choices, and while Kate did re-use a dress that had only had the sleeves changed a bit she did wear all new jewelry with it (or at least jewelry that the public had never seen her in before and with no provenance given we have to assume new), which would represent something like ten times more damage to the environment than a new dress…because heaven knows she won’t wear lab-made jewels.

  6. TIFFANY says:

I just can’t believe that a movie premiere for a big budget film is considered a job for these lazy bums.

    • Dee says:

IKR? Like this film needs more promotional “help” from the royals to succeed? How about giving a nod to young independent filmakers trying to get a break? How about throwing some money toward a workshop for film students? No, let’s bask in a big movie premiere. How “Hollywood” of them.

      • Nyro says:

I doubt any young director would want the Windsors at their film premiere. Unless they deliberately wanted it to flop for some reason.

      • Lorelei says:

Before that one event she did last week, the previous two last engagements she did were 1) attending a soccer match and 2) going to Wimbledon. In no way is any of that “work.” We would have to look up what her last engagement before Wimbledon was to see how long her “vacation” actually was.

It infuriates me that they can count fun little outings like Wimbledon, sporting events they would have gone to anyway, movie premieres, set visits, award shows packed with celebrities, etc. as engagements. Those are all things that normal people would kill to be able to do.

I waited on a line for about six hours to even get onto the grounds at Wimbledon. And people would pay to go to a movie premiere or the BAFTAs or behind the scenes on the sets of Downton Abbey, Harry Potter, Star Wars, etc.. It’s OBSCENE that things like this aren’t exempt from being counted in their “work” totals. 😒

    • MY3CENTS says:

It might even be considered two engagements, watching the movie one, meet and greet another. Yes this is why they have to take 2 months off, poor dears.

  7. Merricat says:

They’re all attending together because then each couple can attribute their frosty reception to the other pair.

    • Princess Peach says:

If the press were honest they would call them what they are the Drab Four.

    • Nyro says:

This. I was thinking Cain and Unable would probably want to enter separately from Charles and Camilla because they probably believe, wrongly of course, that they’d actually get a good reception. But Charles takes precedence and no way are they going to allow him and Camilla to walk on their own.

Also, the kind of people who’d line up to watch the red carpet tend to be stan types. No one is going there to see the Windsors. I look forward to the basic reception from the crowd.

    • Lorelei says:

      This is it, Merricat!

  8. Maria says:

The press tried to frame the Cambridges and Charles and Camilla as the Fab Four before and it was pathetic then and will be pathetic now, LOL.
The dialogue from Kate stans in response to the Time cover has been unhinged. They’re posting her RAF visit and saying things like she is the REAL selfless Duchess who does good work. If you like her then fine but truly nobody with eyes can say she actually is doing good work?? Even knowing what to expect from them, it boggles my mind…

    • Nic919 says:

Someone posted excepts of the stupid questions she asked while on the visit and she really seems dim. The derangers are desperate because they know how shallow Kate has been her entire life but they can’t admit it. That photo op to the RAF was meaningless. It’s not like the RAF needed promotion and her dumb words weren’t exactly comforting.

      • Harper says:

Those excerpts gave me a good laugh all weekend. Even Duchess Keen couldn’t keep a straight face listening to her own word salad. She knows how stupid she sounds. “You are busy and active going through the time period” is how she described the evacuation to them.

      • Seraphina says:

@Nic919, I would love to read those excerpts. I could use a laugh.

      • Lorelei says:

@Harper, “You are busy and active going through the time period”

She really said that? Seriously? What does that even mean!? Oh good lord.

      • Roo says:

        Where can we read those?

      • Jais says:

Go to ITV’s coverage of Kate’s visit for all the questions. It’s truly something, the way she words her questions and comments. The best part is that ITV literally paraphrases everything she says to make it more clear for the audience.

      • Courtney B says:

@lorelai it was in the context of they’re occupied and busy during the actual period but does it all catch up when they’re not busy in relation to what they saw. It actually was a decent question but she worded it so badly as could be expected. I had to read it twice.

  9. Sofia says:

Ah so a fun engagement where they get to watch a movie and Kate gets to wear a nice dress. That brings her grand total of engagements done in September to a whopping 2. Although there’s still around 10 days left so there may be a few engagements that will be done.

    • BothSidesNow says:

No Sofia, she will be exhausted after the movie premiere. Keen will be splashed across the papers drooling over Craig as Unable ignores her as he smiles and takes the hand of a female cast member and holds onto it, as he places his other hand over hers. Keen has been working to spy on Unable when he is not in her presence. Otherwise, she would squeeze out one more activity. She also had to make certain that her injections are at their optimum when she is in public as well.

  10. Noki says:

I wonder at premieres do royals or the actors(whom im assuming have watched the movie a couple of times already) sit for the whole screeningor is there a cocktail area in the back ? 🤣

  11. LadyHanbury says:

Yikes. It reminds me of the time when Keensington Palace said Baldy, supposedly, “went on spy/counter-terrorism training” with the MI6. It turned out the picture that the Keensington Palace posted was a stock photo of Somalia.

  12. Heat says:

I’m a bit surprised that the Queen isn’t attending. James Bond films are her absolute favourite, historically, and she has always attended an advanced Royal screening of the films.

  13. The Duchess says:

The fact this will be Kate’s 2nd engagement of the month. The UK really got what they bargained for…

    • Flying Fish says:

      Exactly.

    • ABritGuest says:

Exactly- this is the hard work that the magnificent seven were going to pick up slack for in H&M’s absence? Anyway I can’t wait for this movie.

I’m curious on why this is a foursome outing though. Was it meant to be one pair & another pair jumped on it in need of positive press (eg Chuck with the cash for access scandal) or was it going to be Chuck&Cam all along & Bill & Kate wanted in for a glamour event or is this to get more fab 4 buzz for the royals?

I look forward to the ‘we’re having the best time ever’ photos as well as them being photographed being suitably enamoured with all the black/ mixed race cast members. Also Looking forward to Naomi Harris’ outfit

  14. Becks1 says:

Of course they’re going. That’s Kate’s dream engagement – she gets a new fancy dress, gets to wear serious bling, and gets to mingle with movie stars , AND it counts as work!

    • The Duchess says:

I’m quite surprised that she’s going. If anything, this engagement is usually where C&C like to loiter around, so the fact that W&K have leeched on is so on-brand. They need the ‘fab four’ continuity act to live on, but we all know it will flop miserably.

  15. Bettyrose says:

    The drab four.

  16. Lizzie says:

They disappear for two months and now they need C&C as chaperones? Someone is dialing them back. Is it just Charles wanting all of the focus or were they such a disappointing failure when they were pushed out front when the hot INFLUENTIAL couple left or maybe both?

    • Persephone says:

      I thought the same thing.

    • Nic919 says:

I don’t think it’s a dial back as much as C and C are a buffer for them to do an event together. I mean the last one was the euro cup final and poor George was between them.

  17. Nyro says:

I don’t. I don’t want them doing anything that the others are doing. It’s Cain and Unable who are the followers. If we see the Sussexes on a red carpet, I suspect it will be for Elton John’s legendary Oscar party. That’s if they chose to walk it.

    • Jan90067 says:

I doubt they would. They want to be taken as serious and substantial. They might go, but I seriously doubt they’d walk the carpet.

    • booboocita says:

Given Harry’s job and H&M’s association with tech types, I can’t see them walking a red carpet anywhere unless it’s at the White House at Joe and Jill Biden’s invitation. Harry has already done one event with Dr Jill, if only a remote event, and Dr Jill has a keen (and actual) interest in women’s empowerment. I can see H&M being invited as the heads of Archewell, or as reps for Invictus. And while I’m not sorry that H&M are maintaining their shields, so to speak, I’m sorry we won’t have more opportunities to see Meghan make gala entrances. I’m still swooning over the red dress with cape that she wore to their last engagement with the Royal Marines.

    • Courtney B says:

I hope we see it eventually but I can understand why they aren’t now. Establishing themselves as more than ‘just’ royals (✔️ if the Time cover is any indication), busy being new patents, not wanting to feed the BM beast. But I hope they will eventually if it’s something they care to do. Meghan *was* part of the acting scene and Harry’s no stranger to premieres. It can be fun and no-stress and a glam night out.

  18. Harper says:

Four royals at a movie premiere? Is Delta not a thing anymore in London? Just wondering.

    • Stephanie Hawkins says:

Considering it’s not a thing in us football stadiums and the Emmy then yes

      • AnnE says:

        Apples & Oranges.

I think Harper’s point may be that during a pandemic, where Delta is raging and so easily transmitted regardless of vaccination you have the first AND second in line to the throne attending the same event. An event that is more personal pleasure than work or value to their subjects/country. Also keep in mind at both of those 2 already had covid, pre vaccine.

      • STEPHANIE says:

James Bond is a movie that receives millions in uk film subsides aka tax payer money. It’s representing the film sector of the uk economy. Much like supporting west end it’s helping the British as a whole to not have it fail. Not exactly just pleasure

  19. Mimi says:

I have no respect for any celebrities that meet with these ghouls. It’s no different than entertaining Kim Jong Un or Vladimir Putin. These four were complicit in racist abuse and harassment that led to a pregnant member of their family contemplating suicide.

  20. Marivic says:

    They are the Flop Four.

  21. mariahlee says:

W&K need this after their respective flops last week. The only time they’re even marginally interesting is when Kate gets to be full glam and blinged out. Will should consider wearing a hat if he wants to avoid being cropped out of all her shots.

  22. Lady Esther says:

    The Drab Four! LOL.

Kate knows her place, so won’t try to outshine Camilla, which is actually a bit tricky because it doesn’t leave her a lot of options. I don’t think she’ll do a re-wear as the press is gagging for some old-school Royal glamour at this point, having been deprived of the annual diplomatic party since the pandemic. I hope both ladies bring it tbh!

ETA: I think Kate looks best in column dresses, so I’d love to see this one again – very modern and the jewel tones suit her better than the pastels, which wash her out (Roland Mouret is also a great designer for her)
    https://whatkatewore.com/2016/06/09/kate-dazzles-in-diamond-earrings-for-sportsaid-gala-at-kensington-palace/

Or the column black velvet from her previous diplomatic soiree (the one from the movie premiere just after her wedding is too juvenile for her now IMO). Much more staid if she wants to go that way.
    https://whatkatewore.com/2019/12/11/the-duchess-in-diamonds-and-alexander-mcqueen-for-diplomatic-reception/

    • Becks1 says:

The blue Roland Mouret was one of her best looks, which is why we haven’t seen it again. Same with the velvet McQueen from the military awards shortly after they were married. It’s like she hits it out of the park once in a great while but then refuses to repeat that dress, so her best dresses are ones that we have only seen once or so.

      • Lady Esther says:

Usually Kate wears such twee garbage for her evening gowns, but one of my favourite gowns on Kate was the pink glittery Jenny Packham (I can’t stand her designs usually) that she wore on her first tour and at the infamous benefit at Houghton Hall with William and Rose. Glorious dress and it looked wonderful on her, but as we can safely assume that was burned on the top of a heap in front of Anmer Hall I guess I won’t be seeing it again!

      • Jais says:

I can’t remember @becks1 but has she done two diff black velvet dresses? I think I liked them both and one was great. I might just have a thing for velvet though. She should redo one of those IMO.

      • Becks1 says:

@Jais the only two that come to my mind are the “new” one from 2019 that LadyEsther linked and the one from the military awards in 2011 – strapless black velvet with a significant ruby necklace.

@LadyEsther – lol, I bet we NEVER see that dress again! To me that is actually an example of Kate’s poor styling, I really didn’t like that pink dress the first time she wore it, but I liked it so much better at the EACH benefit with her hair up to show the detail of the shoulders etc.

      • L84Tea says:

@Jais and @Becks1, the black velvet gown with the big ruby necklace is one of my all time favorite looks on Kate. That was back when she had a few more great curves and actually dressed somewhat sexy. THAT was a Kate that I could stan.

      • Jais says:

Ok I had to look up the black velvet dresses and it is just the one. In some pictures, her hair is down in front and I though it was a strapped velvet dress when actually it’s just the same strapless dress. And yeah this is still my favorite look. She looks really good here. Agree becks1 and L84TEA.

    • Haylie says:

If Kate “knew her place,” she wouldn’t have shown up to Phil’s funeral looking like a wannabe Alexis Carrington. Nor would she have been thirst trapping for an invite to the Diana statue reveal. Or worn off-white to someone else’s wedding.

Thirsty Kate will go out of her way to make Camilla look like and old rag. Not that it’s hard.

      • Lady Esther says:

It’s true, she was a bit OTT at Philip’s funeral.

      • L4Frimaire says:

So true! Alexis Carrington for real. They better be giving those lewks for the Rota because they are thirsty and need some money shots.

      • BothSidesNow says:

@ Haylie, yes, she is Alexis Carrington!! This is the perfect description of Keen!! Along with that awful velvet headband..🤢

      • Tessa says:

And Kate stans have pictures of her funeral wardrobe to show how “fashionable” she is. Something very wrong with her showing up posing in that get up.

    • Tessa says:

They have to pretend they like each other. I don’t think Camilla cares much for Kate and vice versa. I think Charles and William use each other but the “good relationship” won’t last given Charles and William’s respective temperaments, IMO.

  23. Eurydice says:

Oh *yawn* – patron of this, president of that, blah, blah, blah. The whole thing is so 19th century.

  24. ElleE says:

The way the background detail onC. and “his son”is provided, the context at the end, it comes across as… shade? If I were to write for the ES,I would have used these descriptive terms when both of these men were first mentioned. That is good form.

What a win for Billie Eilish. Her whole range is “mood” yet she stays at the top of the charts and now she gets the Bond theme. Can’t wait to hear her crooning whilst watching the opening animation and really getting into the movie 🙃

  25. Esmerelda says:

Big Diana cosplay opportunity for Kate (she went to a lot of Bond premieres, if I remember correctly), mega bling for Camilla, Prince Charles pointing at things and people, William looking bored. These are my predictions, who’s taking bets?
(Also,Craig looking like he wants to be literally anywhere else, but that’s a given)

    • Marivic says:

Yes, Kate will have lots of gurning flashing her huge pearly whites, lots of unreciprocated gooey eye look at William, and lots of pretend interest by exaggerated nodding of the head and huge hand movements.

      • Nyro says:

Re: the unreciprocated gooey eyes, this is their first red carpet without Prince Harry, isn’t it? Oh, yeah. It’s going to be a dud for sure. Poor Unable won’t know what to do with herself.

      • Esmerelda says:

In some very pathetic way, looking at pics of Diana and Charles at old premieres, Charles was way better at not showing his disinterest in his spouse.
William and Kate are just baaaaad at being in public together.

      • Tessa says:

There was a picture of Kate simpering around Charles with that exaggerated gurning grin. I wonder what Charles really thinks of that.

    • Dee says:

Just did a search for Diana’s dresses for Bond premieres. Kate’s copied so many already! There’s a red one she hasn’t copied yet, so anyone want to place a bet?

    • thick.as.thieves says:

Agreed, I bet Kate will wear a red dress similar to Diana’s dress worn to ‘For Your Eyes Only’. But part of me thinks she’ll wear a short black cocktail number with lots of leg – which the press will dub ‘Kates’ Revenge Dress’… and ‘Take that Meg!’ etc. etc.

      • BothSidesNow says:

@ thick.as.thieves, does she not have one, small, speckle of her actual true self? Imagine being close to 40 and living your life coping everyone else or behaving as every one else due to your desperation to appear greater than you actually are. How pathetic do you have to be to copy someone who has character when you have none? Keen is pathetic but she certainly finds her self when it comes to smearing someone and habitually lying about her own abhorrent behaviour!
Keen is such an awful person. TOB is no prize either though.

      • Haylie says:

I don’t think Princess Beaver is allowed to show leg anymore after flashing her muffin so many times.

    • Courtney B says:

Daniel Craig looked very chipper during Knives Out promos and that’s about it. Lol

  26. tamsin says:

I think on the whole, Kate’s clothes are well-tailored and well-fitted, although many of them make her figure look like a pencil. I think Camilla always looks good on formal occasions because she has chosen a style and sticks to it. Also, she wears major bling really well, and does them justice. Important and big pieces of jewellery often seem to overwhelm the Queen especially, and sometimes Kate. Being “glamourous” and showing up for events such as a premiere is what the British public want from the royals. To actually do impactful work for people is a disruptive notion started by Harry and Meghan to rock the royal yacht. How else do you explain the fact that the Queen, Prince Phillip, and Charles are patron of hundreds of charities and organizations. They’re not expected to do anything other than provide publicity. I notice that engagements are often described as royals going to places to “learn” about things, not to help. In Kates’s case, it strikes me that she has lived a very limited life, and does not seem capable either by experience or natural instinct to imagine herself in others’ shoes. That is why she doesn’t seem to ask significant questions when she meets people like the airmen and women who evacuated Afghanis from their country. Kate does seem to have some artistic talents, and I wonder why she has never tried to use them to benefit some of her charities, especially those involving art and children. If she really cared about early years, she might wonder about the effect of the pandemic on pre-schoolers and tried to do something to help. The palace said that the Duchess was going to put aside her other work to focus on the pandemic. It seems to me that it would have been an opportune time for her to focus on early years. Her pandemic work seemed to consist of giving “huge thanks” to everyone, but moral support in terms of specific help would have been good too. But then, I don’t think they did anything more than what was expected of them by tradition.

    • Lili says:

Having a Royal as your patron, is supposed to bring more exposure to your Charity. Kate’s Art for childrens charity closed down over a year ago due to lack of funding. What Meghan and Harry did was to find ways for their charites to be sustainable and fund themselves.

      • tamsin says:

I notice that before Harry left The Royal Foundation, he established foundations for the charities he had created or did things to ensure their future viability.

    • Tessa says:

I don’t think Kate and Camilla are the best of dressers. Kate usually wears those dull dresses and makes some faux pas like making a “fashion statement” at Philip’s funeral. Camilla has those outfits designed for her exclusively to suit her figure. I don’t see Kate as having artistic talent, she photo shops a lot. She never really used her art history major. Kate is not qualified to talk about “early years” there are experts in the field out there who know what they are doing and talking about–some have written books and articles of great significance to the field. Kate just dabbles. It does look bad for the Cambridges that Camilla at her age does more than Kate.

      • Nic919 says:

Kate was also doing less than 90 something Philip until he finally retired. Even when she counts her meetings with Jason she has only cracked 100 engagements a few times in her 10 years as duchess.

Camilla has many faults but when she does engagements she shows interest in the people she’s speaking with and she can do enough small talk that she doesn’t sound like a total idiot as Kate did at the recent RAF engagement. She is an embarrassment and the older she gets the fewer breaks she will get.

  27. Roo says:

To follow on Tamsin’s comments, how hard would it have been for her to show up with donated new clothes, shoes, stuffed animals, coats and /or blankets for these families? And donated gift certificates for all the workers? Surely the FFQ would have enough contacts for that! 🙄

  28. Robin Samuels says:

Is this a PR attempt to convince the public that the relationship between Charles and William is strong? Two damaged heirs are performing for the crowd once again. The UK media was itching for the US royals to attend the Emmys so they could blast them for being “to Hollywood.” Another glitz and glamour engagement with no benefits for the taxpayer. If only a few brave Brits could stand outside with protest signs: (1) STOP PERFORMING, START DOING; (2) APOLOGIZE TO THE DUCHESS; (3) PAY TO PLAY IS A SCAM. Just dreaming, I know the freedom of speech doesn’t pertain to the Royals.

  29. Lady Esther says:

Please Kate, just don’t wear one of your thousand and one black lace or Elsa cosplay ice blue lace/bejazzled dresses…I’ll die of boredom!

  30. 2cents says:

I wonder if Charles demanded W&K to show a united front as his ‘cash-for-honour’ scandal increases with fresh allegations. He knows that certain sources would rather see William become the next king….Better keep your enemies close. The chemistry will be interesting.

  31. HeatherC says:

Watch them hover over any cast members of color. Esp Rami Malek. “You know,” Elegant Bill says, “I know you played Freddie Mercury in a move, I’m sure you did a fine job. Did you know my mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, met Freddie Mercury and they were friends? My mother, Diana, enjoyed his music.”

  32. L4Frimaire says:

Premiers and red carpet events with celebrities are the type of work the Cambridge’s love doing. You know, this is their job and this is what their people like to see. Gowns, jewels and smiles. They’re supposed to be visible and supporting their patronages and healthcare/ military workers. Hopefully press can cover it without mentioning Meghan and Harry, lol

  33. Well Wisher says:

The BTM giveth, TOB offered up ‘Papa’ on a platter, after scandal and slander, the dysfunctional union so necessary to distract from the regression of the state, must seem to be perfect.
What better way to attend a prestigous British film together?
This ‘perfect father/son’ relationship will resonate with those who have no memory and/or easily triggered, a new necessary component in the BTM and others to maintain control and influence.
But there is this problem of consent in a ‘democracy’, to fix it get 1667 people to answer a you.gov poll as to whom is more popular of the royals. The results include 1300 or 78% in favour of TOB and 900 his father.
Nevermind that the sample of 1667 is .0025% of the population. This was enough to keep Bill and Kate satisfied and happy.
They were happy enough to give an exclusive to People Mag. and be celebrated as famous ‘royals’ who will be future monarch and queen consort
Since Time Magazine bestowed the honour as icon to the Sussexes in its 100 in 2021; that created an extra and urgent need to keep the future monarch(s)/employees happy hence the ridiculous tooting of this Bond film premiere?
On a serious note, Brexit and the handling has exposed the incompentcy of present government with their own scandals of sale of peerages. Meanwhile Murdoch of the Sunday Times is flexing with the help of TOB who failed to sellout his brother but succeeded with his fearful father.
    O Happy Day!! (note sarcasm).

    • Well Wisher says:

      Clarification.
      * the handling of the COVID pandemic
*Murdoch continues to flex, instead of ‘is flexing’.
      * replace succeeded with ‘ closed the deal’

  34. aquarius64 says:

All FOUR attending a movie premiere? Even with Baldy as pres preeminence will rule. No way Charles will let Willie walk in front of him. And the thank you is to treat first responders and health care workers is a night at the movies and donations to charities? How about taking the lead with initiatives to make things better for them after the movie is over? This is a response to the Sussexes’ TIME cover. The “real” royals want to be seen as influencers. I hope the Sussexes go to the Hollywood premiere and Doria goes with them and the cause could be Invictus or another cause. The slagging and dragging they would inevitably get for going only gets publicity for the cause. The TIME’s cover meltdown lasted about 3 days but it helped sell out the issue.

  35. MMadison says:

Hmmmm…..I will be deciding on the shade of white to color my kitchen that day….much more interesting than the “Fab Four”

    • ChattyCath says:

I read that as ‘knickers’ not kitchen thinking how shocked I was at the bum flash . Now she’s perfect. All this Royal Drama is to deflect interest in Brexit and what a truly horrible inept Government we have in the UK.

      • MMadison says:

@ChattyCath: That’s an interesting take on this event. I was thinking it was Charles and William in desperate need of any type of good PR…..and I mean ANY type of good PR

  36. iconoclast59 says:

The only time I can see H&M walking the red carpet for a movie premiere is if it’s for a serious documentary for which they were EPs. Even then, they’d probably downplay their wardrobe and walk in with the filmmaker, writer, or, if a biopic, the subject so as to call attention to the REAL important people on the project.

    • Nic919 says:

I agree. I don’t think we will see them at any red carpets anytime soon and it will be for their own work if they go.

    • L4Frimaire says:

Agree. They don’t seem like that’s their thing anymore and anything they do will be in support or causes and organizations near and dear to them.

  37. dido says:

FOUR senior royals at a movie premier? Are there no other worthy causes or events happening in all of the UK that same night? The fact that W+K being there is not enough, they need to bring Charles and Camilla to oompf up the ‘star power.’

  38. Amy Bee says:

They were dubbed the new fab four when they did that joint engagement at a military rehabilitation centre just after Harry and Meghan left. But I’m sure the moniker will come up again. The Royal rota was very excited about this announcement.

  39. Lilly (with the double-L) says:

They’ve sure ensured the audience is one that will probably clap loudly for them and won’t post pictures (probably) on their social media from the red carpet that aren’t swooning. I’m certain the unfab 4 are providing buffers for each other too. That first photo makes me laugh and the audience, daddy and step-mommy can try and ensure W&K’s egos are safeguarded.

  40. Athena says:

How much longer can they drag out thanking first responders. These people have milked every drop out of this pandemic.

    • BothSidesNow says:

Yes they have, and not a cent or pound more for them either. They want donations when they are in the power to give the HHS better wages and benefits. But no, no personal donation and no inner working for the government to help them out. But no. They are invited to the movies, yippee!! That will go far in paying for their childcare as they work 16 hour days….

  41. Tessa says:

Trying to play happy families. Camilla must have noticed the comments from Uncle Gary that Kate should be next Queen.

  42. Matthew says:

they’re like celebrities except dumpy and old with bad hair? and they’re forever?

    no thank you ma’am

  43. Dee Kay says:

This is fitting in a way because 1) cinema is almost over (in terms of going to the movies in-person), 2) Bond is basically over (this is Daniel Craig’s last, and the last two Bond films have been terrible, what makes anyone think this one will be better?), 3) the Royal Family is almost over. William will be the last King of England. It’s like a 3-for-1 grand finale.

  44. LesRob says:

If you are right about the new fab 4, I’d say it does a couple of things for Charles. Charles shuts down the Wessexes effort to be central to the sr royals. Charles is seeking some positive shine to counter the lashing he is getting for the cash for access revelations. Whatever. They all have jobs to do. I could care less what they do unless I need to defend the Sussex family from shenanigans.

  45. Noor says:

It was reported that the makers of the film “No Time To Die’ plan to hold the World’s Largest Premiere Ever With A $10 Million Budget.

Shame on the royals for attending such a wasteful extravaganza in covid 19 pandemic times. Surely the $10 million could be better utilised in fighting or supporting those affected by the pandemic.
