Fungi. She wore a fungi dress. The dress is covered with fungi.

Seems right on brand to me. I’d probably dislike it on anyone else, to be honest. But not on her.

    • Malificent says:

I love fungi — on my dinner table and in my artwork. But that is one ugly pattern.

I used to have a stuffed-animal-style plush mushroom when I was a kid that was called Ferguson. I loved him, but hated really mushrooms in my food!

    • SnoodleDumpling says:

I didn’t even notice until you pointed it out, but honestly, why not? Pretty, colorful blobs are pretty, colorful blobs.

What a charming, fun dress! I really like it.

Did I miss a post with Princess Bea’s kid’s name? Because I imagine there are some THOUGHTS about it.

  4. Lenny says:

I love Lorde’s mushroom dress. I love the name Cosmo for ScarJo and that dude’s baby.

    • Lady D says:

I like Cosmo, too. Colin’s mom on learning the name, ‘is that decision final?’

      • Anne Call says:

Haha, when our kids told us the name of our newly born grandson (Wilder) we were like “come again?” It’s grown on me but it took a while to warm up to the name!

      • Lucy2 says:

Me too, I’m of the same mind as Jost’s mom.

  5. StellainNH says:

Jost and Johannson named their boy Cosmo.

Now Cosmo will be forever yearning for his Wanda.

There is more and more scientific work out there about the work that mushrooms do in world. — how they communicate in nature, their healing properties, nutritional values, mind expanding capacities, etc. I’m reading Lorde’s beautiful dress as a subtle political ecology statement!

      • Vivian says:

I just read that the magical mushroom fabric was hand painted by their mother, an artist, and is an homage to their father, a botanist specialising in mushrooms! It is meant to be a tribute to the beauty of nature and to their parents.

      • Jules says:

Lol that’s really sweet! Psychedelic mushrooms are the only mushrooms I eat. And yes there is a ton of research going on with psychedelics right now, helping with PTSD, depression and eating disorders.

  6. Truthiness says:

I am really disappointed Nas’s romance went south, he had sounded like he was really in love. Hope he is in a good place.

  7. Stacy Dresden says:

Rodarte is so ugly. Exhibit A: Natalie Portman’s wedding dress

  8. LoTTa says:

nice dress with pattern overkill, cape should have at least been solid color or something less pajama style. They also did no favors to Anna Taylor Joy with Venice ensemble. Patterns are just ruining it for me. Nice shade on Lorde, but she is young and quirky and can pull almost anything with her presence.

  9. Monica says:

A print like that, with recognizable objects in it, is called a “conversational.” Probably because it provokes conversation. 😁

  10. Barbie1 says:

Not a fan of Lorde’s dress. Looks like what a middle aged lady in the 1960’s would wear.
