Princess Charlene posted the Instagram, above, over the weekend. She looks worlds better in this photo. In many of the IGs she’s posted from South Africa – where she’s been since March/April – she’s looked quite sick. And she has been quite sick, if the stories are to be believed. She was battling a severe ENT infection which has required multiple surgeries and hospitalizations. Charlene said last month that her aim was to return to Monaco in late October. Prince Albert said words about how he hopes it will be sooner than that, but who knows. She looks well enough to travel to me, which begs the question… why hasn’t she returned? Why is she posting photos of herself in South Africa with rosary beads and what is presumably a Bible?
Last week, just after the big No Time To Die premiere in London, producers brought the film to Monaco for a smaller premiere. None of the stars were in Monte Carlo, but Cary Joji Fukunaga (the director) happily posed with Albert. The Prince’s Palace also invited a glamorous blonde to attend the premiere and do some photos on Albert’s arm: Sharon Stone. Sharon Stone loves to get dressed up, so here we are. She looked pretty happy to be in Monaco! I’m not trying to side-eye anything here. I suspect that Charlene probably feels like “if Sharon wants him, she can have him.”

She looks still terribly ill to me and like she’s lost a lot of weight.

Yes she looks terribly thin, which is making her face even more concerning because the fillers are still there. She just does not look healthy or happy. It’s sad and disturbing and I hope she is ok.
It’s weird but since 2:50 CST, I have been unable to view her picture OR access IG, weird.

She still looks gaunt. However her color is worlds better and her smile is less strained – hopefully that is because she feels better and not just because her boorish husband is miles away.
You know we people asked Albert about racism in regards to Meghan and he said it is indeed very difficult to be biracial in a royal court, but also said these issues should be spoken in private?
I guess that is why we have only hard about his princess putting his son in the servants quarters now from the mouth of his mother…
anyway, it is pretty clear that 1) Charlene is SICk and 2) her marriage is a mess. I have no idea why people keep speculating she is not sick. She is obviously very ill. Even in this pic, she looks very sick to me.
I’ve thought a lot about this whole escandaloso of the move to servants quarters thing.
1. The child’s race seems less of an issue than Charlene being treated of no account and like dirt in her own house. If my husband moved a kid from an affair into our home, and it was a marriage I had been forced into, couldn’t leave and I was being treated less like a wife and more like a prisoner, I’d react badly. I’d already be in a bad place.
2. The quote from the mistress (affair) equating herself with Charlene (wife/detainee) should tell you a great deal of the spirit in which this damning story was recounted. And painting Albert as a great guy.
3. These days, if you want to instantly damn someone as terrible human, recounting a story of racism is a quick way to speed people to instant rage and evaporate sympathy. If there were ever a set of circumstances that make a call of straight up racist decision making not appropriate, this is it.
4. I remain sickened and stunned that Albert continues to make these public appearances in light of his wife’s extreme illness. It’s indecorous, cruel in the extreme, and all the Eurotrashy things people say about Monaco’s royalty. The palace is failing badly to see how awful this is.
Fellow Celebitches, I feel like we’re watching someone die slowly on camera right in front of us.
I hope she recovers, but whatever ails her, is very real and very serious. She has two children to look after so I want her to be able to return to Monaco and resume her life as long as she is able to ..for the pics, she is clearly not, which is very sad.

She does not look well at all. Terribly thin and eyes area discolored and puffy. She has aged ten years in one year. I hope she recovers her health soon.
Also wtf Albert?! Your wife seems deathly ill, meanwhile you are pictured copping a feel of a glamorous actress, yuck, talk about lacking in sensitivity.

I hope whatever Charlene is experiencing, she is getting proper care. And that runs the gamut of mental or physical. Us “old timers” can try to ID what the book may be. I too think that is a Bible. I thought it strange to post a pic with a Bible and thought maybe a dictionary???? But Bibles typically have the place marker in ribbon form.
Albert would not be able to handle Sharon, at least that is MHO. And I also think this display, while his wife has been MIA for so long AND looks so gravely ill is not only tasteless but lacking in empathy for what his wife is going through.
Seraphina, those marks look like tabs to me; it looks like a dictionary. How funny. I’ll bet she has it turned to the section that includes “philanderer.”
I too think dictionary – reminds me of the ones we used to use in grade school (damn I feel old) but look at the pages – it looks like it’s two columns on each page – very much like a Bible.
Edit: wait, I am incorrect. I recall my home dictionary was laid out like that on the pages too.
My dad’s Bible had those place markers/tabs. So I immediately thought it was a Bible considering the caption.
She’s wearing rosary beads around her neck so you’re right, it’s probably a bible. It seems she’s choosing to spend this difficult time of ill health close to her South African family and praying.
Catholics are not supposed to wear rosary beads as a necklace, so this is actually very strange to me.
@Vee that’s what I wondered, I know very little about the ins and outs of religions but I didn’t think rosary beads were something that you wore like that. Aren’t they to have in your hand and you pray as you count them or something..?
I don’t think there’s any specific prohibition against wearing a rosary per se, only against treating it with disrespect or desacralizing it. You could argue maybe Charlene’s illness has led her to deep spiritual devotion and she wants the rosary always close by her because it gives her peace to pray it.
I actually don’t think there’s anything strange about Albert inviting Sharon to the film premiere. It’s very Monaco of the 1990s. There’d always be a big event and Albert would always have a famous model, actress, singer as his guest. I dunno: I don’t think it’s “Oooh, he’s cheating,” but that’s me. As for ChaCha: hope she’s getting better.
Plus she was just in Zurich for the Zurich Film Festival, so it wasn’t too far of a jump to go to Monaco right after!
In that first picture with Albert, what is he doing with his hand?
I think we can tell by Sharon’s expression. I’ll bet she leaned over after that photo and said,”Don’t touch my ass again, you dime-store prince.”
I went back to look at the pic and YES! Stone looks like she she wants to Stone Cold his royal ass.

It miiight be unfortunate timing for the photo. Could have been moving his hand towards or away from her and the photo was snapped mid movement. Or he could have his hand on her butt. Who knows.
If he is coming on to Sharon Stone, at least he’s trying it on with an age-appropriate woman. She’s the same age as him and about 20 older than Charlene.

Get better soon Charlene. She does not look well and being apart from her children, I don’t know how she does it. I would probably be going through a mental breakdown.
Meanwhile back at the palace, the Prince is keeping calm and carrying on with his occasional dalliances.
That looks like one of the devotional type books to me, bible verses on one side, a devotional on the other, pertaining to said verse,. My friend posts from one a lot, which is why it looks so familiar.
Hope Charlene is ok and will be ok, I have seen that look before, sadly am sure many of us have , it does not look well at all, whatever she is fighting, I hope she finds the strength to beat it.

I sincerely hope she is getting better- she looks as though she has a way to go yet. Hope she is getting all the care and support she needs with people who love her. Yes, it’s a bible- the tabs are so you don’t wreck the pages flipping through for the book you want and it’s easier to find them. I hope she is finding comfort there. God bless, Charlene.
I do not see improvement in the way she looks. I don’t know if this was a severe sinus infection but she looks really sick. Coloring off (definitely a lot of foundation to fix it, it appears), her smile and teeth look off because of the weight she’s lost. This is not a well person, imo.
I didn’t really believe her ENT infection excuse at first, but in looking at her, she’s obviously having some medical issues. She has obviously lost a ton of weight, yet her face looks fairly puffy in this new photo.
Can she not fly because of the air pressure change while flying? I flew with a sinus infection once, and while the take off wasn’t bad, when landing the pressure in my ears was awful. I was pretty much deaf for a few hours for my connecting flight to Hawaii. Luckily by the time I had to fly home, the sinus infection was gone.
She looks awful and the Bible and rosary beads in this picture are bizarre. I hope she’s getting good care for whatever she’s got-because she is definitely not well.
She looks really ill. They said it’s an infection but her look screams something worse to me, like even cancer. Why treat infection in SA? I wouldn’t be surprised if she was getting an oncological treatment there, South African scientists have a long history of advanced medical research.
I hate to speculate, but yes she looks like many cancer patients. She is clearly not well. I hope she recovers, right now she looks so frail.
That’s how she looks to me, too. She looks more frail here than in the recent pics with her family.
I agree with you. “severe ENT infection” is a BS cover story. Some sort of tumor is indeed more likely, but the longer this goes on, the flimsier the cover story looks. Especially since there are lots of places with more experience and expertise in treating malignancies in Switzerland, Italy, USA, among others
She doesn’t look that great here either, she looks tired and fragile. She is again seen sitting, which in the pics of her and Albert together, it looked like she was leaning on him for support like she couldn’t stand without help. I really hope she is feeling better, this whole story has been so strange.
If you had just posted the picture and said who is this, Charlene would not have been my guess.

Sometimes medical issues aren’t super visible? I’ve been told by multiple people that I don’t “look” like I’m pre-diabetic, but I can’t eat a bagel without my blood glucose going to 200.
My ex had a sinus cavity rupture on a flight.. believe me it was not pretty. I will spare you the gory details and recovery. If she has serious sinus issues she should follow dr’s orders. Sad she is posted in front of what looks like a bible wearing a rosary while PA hand seems very familiar with Sharon Stones bum.

It doesn’t need to be a physical illness. Depression can also take its toll on the body and make one look exhausted.

In every picture Sharon Stone is as far away as she can get from the ‘Prince’. In one she’s even leaning away. And yet this guy still can’t keep his hands to himself. He needs a lesson in ‘manner hands’. So disrespectful to both Sharon and his wife.
She looks like she is getting cancer treatments, she does not look well at all. She has lost an alarming amount of weight and looks very fragile.
