I’ll admit that I didn’t think Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez would make it past the summer, so Autumnal Bennifer is something really unexpected and joyful for me. I’m torn between “looking forward to a messy and scandalous breakup” versus “enjoying Bennifer as they are.” The most annoying thing about Bennifer? The people screaming about how everything is fake between them and that Ben is super-annoyed with J.Lo and she’s “forcing” him to be with her or whatever. Come on. If Ben didn’t want to be loved up with J.Lo, he would leave. It’s that simple. Yes, he self-sabotages, but he telegraphs every self-defeating move. And his whole energy – right now – is that he adores J.Lo and that they’re like two kids in love. But allow Ben to tell you how happy he is:
The actor recently reunited romantically with Jennifer Lopez, and is starring in not one but two new movies: “The Tender Bar” and “The Last Duel.” Ben told “Extra’s” Jenn Lahmers, “I’m very happy. It is a very happy time in my life. Life is good. I love this movie, and ‘The Last Duel,’ October 15, which I am really proud of.”
George Clooney directed “The Tender Bar,” and Ben said, “Working for George was a real treat, so it’s a time in my career that is surprisingly kind of fruitful… I kind of lucked into this… Very grateful, so yes, I am happy.”
“The Tender Bar,” based on a book by J.R. Moehringer, follows a boy who seeks father figures among the patrons at the bar run by his uncle, played by Ben.
Daniel Ranieri plays the boy in his younger years, and Ben said he connected with the actor. “He’s spectacular… My son is 9 years old. The hardest thing about doing this job… a lot of stuff is out of town… I really miss my time. Daniel reminded me of my son and being with my son… He’s a wonderful guy… George created this really safe environment, made him comfortable, and he could just be himself… It was a real pleasure.”
“I’m very happy. It is a very happy time in my life. Life is good…” He seems to mean it. There’s no gun to his head, no J.Lo looking up at him expectantly. I think he is genuinely happy right now and everything is turning up Affleck. He’s back with the one who got away, his career is picking up in a major way, he’ll probably be part of an Oscar campaign for The Tender Bar or The Last Duel or both. So… will Autumnal Bennifer turn into Married Bennifer in the winter or spring?

I love it so much too Emily! As a former New Yorker I’m so glad I don’t have to tolerate A-Rod anymore. A lot of people find JLo’s taste tedious, but it’s no worse than a lot of my friends and I wish they were this glowing and blissful right now.
I hear you Emily. I thought they were cute the first go around and I think they are cute now. The most telling for me are the little vids and photos of them when you can tell that they don’t know they are being filmed/ photographed. They just come across as being really happy. I hope it works out for them long term. I like seeing people be happy.
To be honest I thought they were stunting at the beginning. That’s obviously not what this is and I love it.
Minx, being stunt doesn’t mean they aren’t in love, for example, that New York pap is very obvious. They want to be seen. But I have been having a nagging feeling that what Ben and Jen are doing right now is playing a character, despite being in love. I have a conspiracy theory that I think shall unfold the next couple months. This theory is right now too ridiculous to share. But maybe he is doing a redemption tour and someone from his hidden past will be part of the redemption, and will form part of his being honest narrative he said in the NYT profile story in 2020.
Does she ever just go out in a tshirt and jeans and athletic shoes? My god the maintenance behind her looks must be exhausting.
I hope they are for real. He looks SUPER good. I hope he can sustain this happiness since he clearly has his demons. I hope he doesn’t drag JLo down if things go south for him happiness-wise.
I’ll never forget Ben telling the story of how Adam Driver helped him out with his son’s birthday party. He was almost in tears he was so appreciative of Adam helped him impress Samuel.
Ben is messy af, but I do believe when sober he tries his best to be a decent guy. I hope JLo helps with this, whether they last or not.

We can tell he is doing well. I mean he is not bloated anymore. In my book that is a win.
There’s always been a weird group of people who want to blame the women in Ben’s life—Jennifer Garner “made” him into a suburban dad, Ava de Armas “made” him do pap strolls, and now Jennifer Lopez “makes” him performatively be with her.
Ben does what he wants. Right now, he wants this. I still think he’s going to f*ck it up, because that’s what he does, but I get tired of some people wanting to infantilize him.
Ben look healthy I just hope they stay content. Hoping the kids are happy with this whole thing. Wishing them the best.
I mean clearly they seem to know how to play with the press and the medias but I don’t understand all the PR relationship talks. They have history together, they are cute and in love. Is it going to last? I don’t know but they made the gossips fun this summer with their shenanigans lol I wish them nothing but the best

In the pic before clicking on the story, I could swear Ben had some pretty major tweaking going on with his face. His eye area is totally different. Any comments on what he may have done? I’m not criticizing. I’m just super-interested. Usually it’s the woman who feels she must upgrade.
