Adele released a very short clip ahead of her new album release

Even when I know what’s coming, even when I know that Adele is about to drop heartache and tears and longing on us, I still get goosebumps. The last time Adele released an album, she was married with a young child. Five years later, she’s divorced, her son Angelo is about to turn nine years old, and she’s living full time in California (I think). Adele has obviously foreshadowed her return – the strategic leaks to radio stations, Taylor Swift changing the release date of her album (Red), the light projections in major cities around the world. So we knew this album was coming, and we anticipated that it would happen this week. But this is all we’re getting today:

I’m telling you, I genuinely got goosebumps. She hasn’t even opened her mouth yet! But the clip is so evocative… she’s leaving, she’s packed up her things and she’s said goodbye to some man. She still has a cassette player in her beat-up junker car. The piano. Black-and-white. The sheet music going out the window. We’re gonna cry a lot.

Meanwhile, Vulture’s sources are telling them that Adele’s people have approached multiple networks and streaming services about some kind of TV special she wants to stage to promote the album. She’s apparently talked to NBC (who aired her special the last time around), CBS, Netflix, Amazon, Disney/ABC, etc. She’s apparently still figuring out what she wants, but some are saying an outdoor concert filmed into a special. Adele: Live at the Hollywood Bowl, something like that? So far, the deal has not been finalized anywhere, so we’ll see.

Adele not only changed up her social media images, she also tweeted for the first time in nine months. Adele probably caused Facebook and Instagram to break down for hours!

A clip of her not singing…how nice of her. Come on Adele !

  2. Lawcatb says:

Meh. I’m a fan, but if I’m being honest, I don’t listen to her albums years later the way I do with other artists.

    • Bren says:

I still listen to ’21’ a few times a year but ’25’ puts me to sleep.

    • AlpineWitch says:

      This!

    • Nicole says:

21 and 19 were really good. I had no use for 25. You could tell that she collaborated with other writers. I didn’t like her sound.

I didn’t even realize this until you said it, but that’s it exactly. I like her a lot, a like her music when it comes out, but it doesn’t stay in my heart. Interesting.

    • Case says:

I completely agree. Her talent is undeniably immense and her success is well deserved, but I honestly find her music quite boring for the most part.

Saw a great tweet: “Now we know why it’s taken so long for the CD: the music flew out of the car!” 😄 😄

I remember the last tease: Just Adele, in b/w singing “Hello…”

Wouldn’t it be great if besides the televised concert she hosts SNL again to promote it?

    • Eve says:

      @Jan90067:

I swear that every f*cking time I (unfortunatelly) happen to listen to her “Hello?” I keep waiting for — the much much much better — “Is it me you’re looking for?”.

    • Dierski says:

@Jan90067 – I would love if she hosted SNL again, she was a great host last year! Super funny and I liked being able to see her big personality shine.

  4. Sofia says:

I absolutely cannot wait! I still listen to “Make you feel my love” from her 19 album (which was her first) and all her other albums too.

    • Jan90067 says:

Her cover of this song is so much better than the original and GB’s versions. Can’t believe it’s actually a Bob Dylan song! It always makes me a little choked up hearing it (and it’s on all my Adele playlists on my phone to listen to in the car).

Listening to her sing it live, at her concert (saw her at Staples Center), just gave me goosebumps!

The weight loss surgery has made her look…different. She’s still pretty but she looks shrunken & not as beautiful. Sad, that’s what gastric does. Always better to do health the natural way. You’re not supposed to drink alcohol or coffee ever again after you have the surgery. Guarantee for her that never happened.

    • Snuffles says:

I don’t think she got gastric surgery. She’s been slowly and steadily losing weight for years. She’s definitely had work done on her face though.

    • Eleonora says:

If someone had not told me this was Adele, I wouldn’t have recognized her.

      • Eleonor says:

        I have to agree.
I don’t like this makeup trend that makes all women look like a Bratz doll.

    • AnnaC says:

While I disagree with much of your statement….i do think both Adele and Rebel Wilson had baristric surgery, the vertical sleeve if I had to guess, as both lost a lot of weight pretty quickly but more importantly seemed to have kept it off for a year plus.

Re the other thoughts on gastric surgery and results….not everyone can do it the natural way. I had gastric surgery and I’m not gaunt, shrunken and most people have said I look better and younger vs aged and worse than before. Also, coffee is fine. I was allowed to have it immediately post op as was pretty much everyone I know who has had the surgery. And while you are correct in that most bariatric programs/doctors discourage alcohol, especially the first year out, it’s because it metabolizes faster so you get drunk quickly and because there is a concern patients may trade a food addiction for an alcohol one.

All I see with that dress from the header is Ali Larter’s whipped cream bikini in Varsity Blues.

Take my money! I love her so much.

The funny part to Adele’s tweet was Twitters response “ahdfljhadsjdlash ADELE?!?!”
