Queen Elizabeth did her first virtual ‘event’ since last week’s hospitalization

Please let me dream that Queen Elizabeth popped up on the Zoom call with a jubilant “surprise, bitch!” QEII has been resting in Windsor Castle since her overnight hospitalization last week. Her staff culled her schedule down and the next big question mark is whether she’ll be well enough to travel to the climate conference in like five days. Apparently, the Queen is okay. Okay enough to sit through a video conference with the South Korean ambassador.

Her Majesty, wearing a bold yellow dress and a pearl necklace, held an online audience with a series of new ambassadors, including new South Korean Ambassador Gunn Kim, who wore the nation’s traditional dress of a tall “gat” hat and a gown.

Photographs of the meetings, showing a beaming queen, were distributed by Her Majesty’s office. Photos were provided of both ends of the meetups, with pictures of the queen talking to her screen at Windsor Castle and photos of her appearing on screen at Buckingham Palace. It was a clear attempt to draw a line under the uncertainty of the past few days.

[From The Daily Beast]

I’ve been wondering about a lot of the leaking against both the Queen and Charles in recent months. Who leaked the Queen’s hospitalization to the Sun? Who leaked all of that terrible sh-t about Charles’ foundation and all of his cash-for-access schemes? I would say that William is the despot behind the curtain, but I honestly don’t think William is smart enough to do all of this without leaving his fingerprints all over it. I think something else is going on… a quiet revolt in several royal offices, perhaps. In any case, I’m glad the Queen was well enough to put on a yellow dress and pose for photos. Maybe she really just needed to rest after all.

Meanwhile, it was also reported that the Queen is doing so poorly that she can’t even walk her dogs? Or she’s under doctor’s orders to not walk around the Windsor grounds. I still say that most of this is simply that the Queen is currently very unsteady on her feet, and perhaps she’s having balance issues.

The ambassadors are all standing while she’s sitting. Maybe she cannot even stand these days. A terrible fall will do that. I still think it could be COVID.

    • Becks1 says:

I think thats due to the position of the camera. I don’t think we have ever seen her standing during a zoom.

      • ThatsNotOkay says:

Granted, she IS the Queen, so her subjects must stand even when she is seated on her throne. But I do suspect she has standing issues. I’ve seen it with many elderly people. A collapse or fall, then just utter lower body weakness and an inability to walk again even with extensive PT. Of course, just speculating. I’m no Natalie Oliveri.

      • Becks1 says:

Oh she might have standing issues, but I wouldn’t base that speculation on this one zoom meeting when she is sitting. She’s been sitting in all of them since March 2020 for the most part.

    • Noki says:

i dont think anyone would expect her to stand on a zoom call.

    • Digital Unicorn says:

She always does Zoom calls sitting down – she’s done loads of these virtual events like this.

    • ThatsNotOkay says:

And now know the Queen’s not going to COP26.

  2. Snuffles says:

All signs point towards balance issues and probably a few scary falls.

  3. Layla says:

How pathetic does it look that the Queen a 90 something no year old woman who has just come from being hospitalised, is still “working” whilst her middle aged and active grandson and daughter in law (“SEnIoR rOyAlsSS!!!”)are off holidaying

    • Betsy says:

If they ever worked, no one would begrudge them a holiday, but we all know their pathetic numbers.

  4. Becks1 says:

If she needs a cane to walk in public (which I’m interpreting as meaning she REALLY needs that cane), then it makes sense she can’t walk her dogs anymore.

I know we’re all making fun of her drinking, but that also makes sense – if you have someone who isn’t walking well, and maybe has taken a few big falls or you’re worried about that, reducing or eliminating their alcohol intake is probably a really smart move. So if that story was true – about her no longer drinking – to me it makes more sense from a balance/walking POV than from a “her liver is in danger” POV. (I mean I’m sure it is, but at this point I don’t see that being enough to stop her.) But being worried about a big fall could stop her.

I said on the other post that this dress looks big on her, part of it is how she is sitting but in general she has been looking very thin lately.

Haven’t posted here in a very long time but just wanted to chime in to say that QEII hasn’t looked well to me for a very long time. She has also lost a lot of weight. At first I thought “seniors, they don’t eat as much” but her weight loss is noticeable. Also, I have wondered if the drinking has increased. I can understand it if it has. She’s probably much more alone than she’s ever been. Like how many peers in her age group does 95+ old monarch really have that she can call up or kick it with? Added to the recent death of her husband (likely depression) and the added isolation of COVID, I get it if she’s bending the ole elbow a bit too much. I also wonder about dementia. She seems much looser, if you will, when she’s out and about. Less restrained. I’ve wondered if I’m seeing things or if it’s the drinking or the dementia. I don’t know.

I honestly think Andrew is both at Windsor to hide from the law and to perhaps help keep a watch over her. Can you imagine someone saying “the Queen is sauced; the Queen is sauced” in an old English type of dialogue.😂😂🤪

Anyway, I wish her well. She’s reigned too long to go out pickled and brined in gin or whatever her drink of choice is. I’ve forgotten. Her mom was a drinker too, tho. So🤷🏽‍♀️

I think the time has come for the Queen to curtail her duties to special events only. I think the Palace putting her out to work at her age is abusive.

  6. Lucy says:

Kaiser, the “Surprise, bitch!” Line made me laugh so hard, thank you for that 😂

Maybe she’s recovering from a UTI? My grandma had one and the big symptom was she suddenly lost the ability to walk and talk. Two days of antibiotics and she was miraculously improved.

She could’ve taken a tumble from something like that, or withdrawal, and now they’re having to rest her up for the summit. I do hope someone gets through to her that she could hand off more.

I am keeping the astrology prediction someone posted a few days ago in mind. It was something about Charles’ moon eclipses hers in April, so I’m watching that.

    • NCDancer says:

I think the UTI could be something. They are super common in older women. My mother is in her 80s and has them with some regularity. She is asymptomatic so they go from 0 – 60 pretty quick.

      • BothSidesNow says:

Tanya Robert’s died from an undiagnosed UTI which turned into sepsis. She was pretty young considering TQ’s age.
It’s extremely toxic for older women and it’s deadly if not treated.

  7. PaperclipNumber99 says:

Hoping Kaiser will give her full thoughts on the “quiet revolt” very soon. Her instincts are usually pretty damn spot-on and it sounds intriguing!!!

  8. Merricat says:

I suspect Sophie is the leak. She’s the only one smart enough to know how to do it without being too obvious.

    • Sunday says:

I think so too. Charles slapped them down with the Duke of Edinburgh title rebuke and all his skeletons suddenly started marching out of their closets.

    • Becks1 says:

Sophie would know about the queen’s hospitalization but I don’t think she would leak it because I’m not sure what she got from the leak. Like if she had been going around again saying things like “its what the queen wants” then we would know it was her, lol.

  9. Badgerette86 says:

Is that a large bruise on her right wrist?

    • Jaded says:

It appears to be. At that age even a light tap can cause extensive bruising, it happened to my mother. She might also be on a drug like Warfarin which is typically prescribed to treat or prevent blood clot issues such as deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism, and to prevent strokes.

    • Snrub says:

It could be from an IV too. I’m a hard stick and I’ve had IVs in that spot. They bruise like crazy.

  10. Jaded says:

NEWS FLASH: The Queen won’t be attending COP26 on the advice of her doctors, but will deliver a video message to the attendees. This is more serious than what’s being shared to the media.

    • BeanieBean says:

Well, good. This is all she should be doing at this stage in her life, and at this point in history.

  11. BothSidesNow says:

Good!! She need to slow down. I was quite pissed that they are declaring that other royals are “pitching in”, but er haven’t heard “bushes” from PWT!! Lazy welfare mooches…..

Also, the article mentioned her recent travels from the first 19 days of October.
“… The Queen traveled more than 1,000 kilometers (621 miles) from October 1 through to October 19.”

Who could match those miles? Not the Lambridges, as well as Suffering Sophie, though she would like to. TQ, Anne and Chaz are really the work horses of the bunch now. Looks like the slimmed down Monarchy is exactly what Chaz is getting, yet without any support from FFK and FFStalker either. They will continue to be insufferable for the rest of their lives living off of the backs of the taxpayers.
