Duchess Meghan did a Brightly Storytime YouTube video for ‘The Bench’

meghan storytime bench1

The Duchess of Sussex is still doing promotional and charitable stuff around her children’s book, The Bench. The latest is Meghan recording a special message for Brightly Storytime, a YouTube channel owned by Penguin Random House (publisher of The Bench and Harry’s upcoming memoir), and then doing a reading of The Bench as the watercolor illustrations appear. It appears as if Meghan recorded this in her backyard, and of course the Daily Mail noted that “she could be seen reclining on a seat in the garden of her $14 million mansion in Santa Barbara.” That’s important, you know. How dare children enjoy a video storytime with a duchess who reclines in a deck chair of her $14 million mansion! Children should also know that the children’s book author in question has no fewer than eighteen bathrooms in her mansion!!

She looks lovely and I enjoy the outdoor setting. Something I appreciate is that whenever Harry or Meghan record videos at their Montecito property, they use different rooms or outdoor spaces every time. I don’t think there’s been a repeat at all? We’ve gotten glimpses of Meghan’s office, the Montecito living room, the bench, the chicken coop, etc.

Guess what else the Daily Mail is mad about? Meghan’s jewelry, of course. How dare she wear jewelry which belongs to her? She’s wearing her Cartier “Love” bracelet, a diamond tennis bracelet, a pendant necklace, her engagement ring, her Cartier tank watch and all of that. The Mail keeps claiming that Meghan’s pinkie ring came from jewels gifted to her by an unknown Middle Eastern prince or something, but I think that’s just a dumbf–k slur that they’re throwing around these days.

Meanwhile, Meghan donated copies of The Bench to The Assistance League of Los Angeles. She donated the books through Archewell, and they went to the kids at the League’s Preschool Learning Center.

She has the most soothing voice!

    • Myra says:

Archie and Lili must sleep beautifully at night because she has one of the most soothing voices I’ve ever heard.

    • Amy Bee says:

      It’s a beautiful poem.

    • Lurker25 says:

Is she an alto? I’m always surprised by her voice – it’s not, like, deeeep, but it’s at a lower register and has this slightly husky timbre. Her regular speaking voice is so unassumingly confident. No upspeak, no vocal fry, no affectation or tics. Certainly no, um, mumbling…

      • BothSidesNow says:

Yes, Meghan has the voice of calm, soothing and well defined pattern of speech. I absolutely loved her reading of the book and the illustrations were beautifully done. The illustrations of fathers and sons were joyful, impactful and lovely!!

Moreover, Meghans poem was beautifully written and such a special gift for Harry on the birth of Archie. I am grateful that they chose to share it!!

    • Lorelei says:

I bought the audio version in addition to the actual book for that exact reason! I feel like listening to it would calm me down if needed, lol. I just wish it was longer…hopefully one day she’ll narrate her own memoir 🤞

  2. lanne says:

So the DM is mad that she wears her own stuff. Got it. Are the British people sick of this shit yet. She’s been gone longer than she was a royal by now. How long is it going to take for the tabloids to accept it? I imagine Harry going F y’all. F you f you f you. Maybe he really should ditch his titles completely. Yes, they are his birthright and his children’s, but maybe it’s time to break all ties with these toxic people. Then again, the ratchets would spend years blaming Meghan for it. I guess the only thing they can do is live their lives and ignore the noise.

    • blackfemmebot says:

The funny thing about the titles is that they can’t take Harry’s away because it is his birthright but if they take Meghan’s away then she officially becomes Princess Henry of Wales which would trigger the racists 10000000000x more. She’s glowing, she’s thriving, she’s raising her babies in peace, salt island can stay mad.

      • anotherlily says:

They can’t take Meghan’s titles away. She was never given the titles. She automatically assumed the titles as the wife of a titled man. Harry’s titles cannot be taken away because he is a born Prince and because his dukedom is now his property and is Archie’s legal right to inherit.

The odious Lady Colin Campbell was married to Lord Colin Campbell for less than a year but she has used her married title to promote herself and to profit financially ever since the divorce. There is nothing her ex husband or anyone else can do about it. Fergie has used her Duchess of York title in her various commercial enterprises following her divorce.

Meghan is the lawful wife of a titled man and she cannot be deprived of her married name.

      • GraceB says:

The OP wasn’t saying anyone should take them away. They were saying that H&M should ditch them, and I agree with them. The titles still tie them to the royals. They’re a symbol of that white supremacy and unearned privilege. Remove the titles and you have a couple who are actively showing the British media that they don’t want any part of what they stand for. What can the media do then? They can’t write stories about how they’ve used their titles for power, influence or money anymore (which is the motivation behind the examples @anotherlily mentioned). They can’t write articles suggesting their titles should be removed.

They could write articles saying that Harry has turned his back on his royal roots, but he did that when they stepped down. They’re not working royals, they don’t even live in the UK, and they don’t receive any UK tax payer money. They’d look even more desperate than they do now.

      • Wiglet Watcher says:

        GraceB
        I disagree.
To give up the titles is to cave to your abusers. If they can bully them into that they will continue with worse. And they will never be distanced from the BRF. Harry is needed to distract from William. Meghan is belittled to prop up Kate. This will never change with or without titles. And to keep the titles is a power move. Their abusers can cry and scream, but they can do nothing about it.

    • Name keeps changing cos I delete my cookies says:

I was convinced the Oprah interview would end with them denouncing their titles. But I understimated how much the titles meant to them. They’re Harry’s birthright, a gift from the Queen, less constitutional weight than the bleepin’ HRH’s. I think of it as a fancy way of saying Mr and Mrs, and anyone who questions that (not you, just saying generally) usually doesn’t think Harry should be married to Meghan, and one can’t argue with those people.
And, let’s face it, Meghan and Harry could make being Mr and Mrs Mountbatten-Windos super sexy too, and we would still have the other side saying “why do they use the royal surname? they left the royal family!”

    • Edith says:

Blackfemmebot….i dont agree because if they give up their tittles the british press tabloids/royal reporters/Rota and their mandants /enablers (the british royal family/firm)will definitly change the narrative by accusing them of disrespected the Queen..

    • Becks1 says:

What makes me laugh about the cries of “they are using their titles!” (not from you @lanne, I get what you’re saying, but in general) is that…..okay, so she’s no longer the Duchess of Sussex. Then what? She’s Princess Henry of Wales. Is that better?? Or can you imagine her introducing herself as Meghan Mountbatten-Windsor and how she would be accused even THEN of “using the royal name!!!!! She’s cashing in on her royal connections!!!! SHES NOT A WINDSOR!!!”

They want her to leave Harry and just be Meghan Markle, but she’s never going to be “just” Meghan Markle again, and she’s not leaving Harry, soooo….haters gonna hate.

      • Edith says:

Becks,, i agree but don’t forget that sarah ferguson ( prince Andrew’s Ex..wife) is still the duchess of YORK, which she also use for all her business,No outrage from the british media or the royal dogs. …i agree anyway, meghan will never live him, they have gone through a lot that they have become ONE.

      • Becks1 says:

@Edith oh I know, and I am not one of those who think they should give up or stop using their titles for any reason.

But its still funny to me because…..even if they do stop with the titles, what next? Princess Henry? Will they like that better?

      • GraceB says:

@Becks1, I get what you’re saying, but why do that have to use Prince or Princess? It’s even more tied to being a royal than Duke and Duchess. A doctor doesn’t have to use their title, it’s a privilege that they’ve had to earn, but they can choose whether or not to apply it. So the titles are a birth/marriage right. If they’re against what the monarchy stands for (which I’m not 100% certain about), why use the titles?

I find the narrative confusing on this subject. How can the monarchy be a symbol of white supremacy, white privilege, colonialism and terrible atrocities, and yet titles that are directly related to them are a good thing, which need to be kept?

Perhaps it’s living in the UK that has swayed my feelings on this, but here, a lot of weight is given to being a Prince or Princess, a Duke or Duchess, a Lord or Lady. They’re very separatist titles, denoting peerage and rank. They represent a toxic system which benefits a few, to the detriment of many.

The US might have it’s flaws, but it’s a more even playfield in terms of people being able to create their own success. You might have the nepotism kids, who come up easily because their parents are celebs or politicians, but rarely do you see the grandchildren and great grandchildren benefitting from that same level of nepotism.

In the UK, you have titled families having an easier ride than the average person because their ancestors, potentially several hundred years ago, did something to gain a title.

I’m strongly anti monarchy, and I feel like H&M are missing a trick with this one.

      • notasugarhere says:

I don’t recall them ever saying they were against monarchy as an institution, nor have they turned on his beloved grandmother. The racists in the family, the staff briefing against them, the requirement to use the racist RRs – they’re against all of that. They are not taking on the monarchy because to them, the monarchy form of government isn’t the problem. It is certain individuals and staff within that Firm that are the problem. It isn’t difficult to understand if you choose to.

      • ABritGuest says:

They never said they were republicans so that shouldn’t be projected on them.

The only reason people are obsessed with them giving up peerage (not royal) title is because they don’t want mixed heritage Archie to inherit the Duke of Sussex title one day- same reason why the firm was/is discussing changing the rule so archie won’t become a Prince when his grandfather is king. Why should they give in to racists who will just be emboldened& go on to their next demands? Their real problem is that Harry& Meghan married & their kids exist so unlikely they will stop harassment whilst that’s a reality.

    • Amy Bee says:

@lanne: Edward VIII was given new a title when he abdicated so why should Harry give up his? We all know the real reason why people want Harry stripped of his title, it’s because he married a black woman. Giving up the title would be giving into the racists who want Meghan eliminated from the family. Plus, at this point, Harry’s best known by Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, it’s a good branding decision to keep using it.

      • lanne says:

I honestly don’t think they should give up their titles–it’s a knee-jerk reaction I have sometimes when I think, “this harrassment is never.going.to.end.” Fifty years from now, the DM will be braying about Meghan’s jewelry, the cost of her cane, the fact that her grandchildren live in a mansion, etc. But they seem to be really good at shutting it out and just living their lives.

The royal ratchets are going to spend the rest of their miserable lives complaining about the Sussexes. The royals are going to spend the rest of their miserable lives slandering the Sussexes behind closed doors. Ironically, the only royals who can actually be happy are…Harry and Meghan. Cain and Unable will spend the rest of their lives scheming and whining about Harry and Meghan, and they will likely poison their children with their animus as well.

Hatred’s one hell of a drug. The best thing Harry and Meghan ever did was escape that vile institution.

      • Maria says:

Giving up their titles wouldn’t mean anything to these people, as we can all see. They are masters at moving the goalposts. It’s sick but I continue to be happy to see how Harry and Meghan ignore it.

    • STRIPE says:

I used to have this view as well, that they should just ditch their titles to officially end their connection to the family. It would give them some symbolic distance and give places like the Mail one less thing to complain about. But the reality is, as long as Harry it married to Meghan, there is something to complain about in their eyes. Titles or not, jewelry or not..they will find reasons to hate her.

      • ABritGuest says:

Exactly they will just move the goal post. The Sun said if Harry wants to be left alone by them he should stop taking public money & become a private citizen. They did that. Then there was the demand to pay back Frogmore & to cover their own security. They did all these things yet the press won’t leave them alone.

Apparently a reporter said to an intl reporter that they can’t leave Harry alone. They feel ownership over him & they don’t like being sued and ignored. Harry’s friend said the editors would make his life miserable & they hold grudges.

If he gave back titles & renounced place in line of succession they would then ask him to repay everything that’s ever been spent on him. Ultimately I think the end game they have in mind is quite tragic as Harry himself said so think that’s why things like giving back titles etc isn’t gonna make a difference.

Anyway onto nicer things and the video- Meghan is glowing and the little glimpse of their estate looks lovely as always. Her voice is soo soothing no wonder Archie loves being read to.

    • Louise177 says:

I don’t understand why they keep detailing Meghan’s jewelry. She always wears the same pieces but the DM always makes it sound like breaking news. Always talking about the house value is also bizarre considering they they own. Meanwhile TRF has dozens of properties worth a lot more and upkeep mostly paid by taxpayers that would make $14 million look like chump change.

    • Lorelei says:

@Lanne it’s amazing to me that they haven’t let up even after Harry’s memoir — which they are clearly terrified of — was announced. He might have been more generous in a first draft, especially if they were written a while ago, but they’ve continued to poke at him and piss him off…they are the stupidest people.

Re: the titles, I’m torn— I feel like there are good arguments to be made on both sides, most of them articulated right in this thread.
@Edith, the one thing I am sure about is that they should absolutely NOT take into account the fact that the press will claim they’re “disrespecting the Queen.” The British media will (and already do!) say that anyway. Harry and Meghan need to do what’s right for them, and I doubt they give one single shit what the royal reporters think about it.

On the birth certificates, is Meghan referred to as “a Princess of the United Kingdom” like Kate was? That would REALLY piss people off, to the point that a few might stroke out and we’d be rid of them. Meghan would never, because she’s not as petty as I am, but it would be funny.

  3. Name keeps changing cos I delete my cookies says:

She’s so pretty, smart and steadfast. She was born for this, and more.

  4. Marysia says:

Okay, but how much does the chair cost? That’s what everyone needs to know! 😀

  5. Eurydice says:

Very sweet. The DM must employ special magicians to be able to turn a chair in front of some trees into a screed about wealth.

    • L84Tea says:

I think even she sat perched on a rock on the side of the road to read this book they’d simply accuse her of disrespecting nature. Or something. Anything.

      • Dee says:

I’m sure a picture of Kate sitting on a rock once would be dragged out, because she must be copying her. . .

      • Lorelei says:

@Dee, can you IMAGINE what the reaction would have been if it was Meghan instead of Kate pictured swinging on a wrecking ball like Kate was in that garden? The outrage would be…I can’t even think of a word for it. There would have been side-by-side comparisons of Meghan and Miley Cyrus, and countless slurs which I won’t even type here but you all know what they would be.

Meghan could wear a brown paper bag and they’d find a way to criticize it. I think she is at peace with the fact that this is just how the British tabloids are and this is how it’s going to be, and she ignores them to the best of her ability. I’m sure she still has her moments when the cruelty gets to her, she’s only human — but it seems like she worked her way through the worst of it.
Harry must feel so guilty, even though he obviously shouldn’t. I know I would in his position. It’s irrational, but he must just *lose it* sometimes over what they did to the woman he loves simply for marrying him.

  6. Amy Bee says:

I just love that Harry and Meghan go about their business with no fear of what anyone thinks about them. They’re living the life they’ve always wanted and I couldn’t be more happy for them. I also look forward to the Daily Mail tallying the cost of Kate’s jewelry the next time she makes an appearance. And there wouldn’t be a $14 million mansion to complain about if the press and the Royal Family hadn’t drove Harry and Meghan out of the UK. But I guess we would be hearing about the £2.4 million for Frogmore Cottage instead. What I don’t get is Harry and Meghan did what the press and Royal Family wanted which was to leave so why are they still angry about it.

    • norah says:

they just whine because thats all they can do.

    • Name keeps changing cos I delete my cookies says:

It’s just wild cos W&K have two homes and counting. Plus a helicopter. Not a peep out of anyone.
They should include price of Diana’s ring in Kate’s outfits if they have the courage of their convictions.

      • Sure says:

I wish the tabloids would record the cost of renovations on the C’s two homes in every article about W&K as taxpayers largely funded those renovations. The public should be reminded of what little return they’ve received on their investment.

      • NiqGee says:

Technically 3 because they have a house on the Balmoral Estate as well, where they stay when they visit the Queen there.

    • Brit says:

I think they were promised by members of that family that Harry and Meghan would return. Them buying a house, signing deals, starting a successful charitable foundation, Oprah interview and the other jobs and successes they’re doing wasn’t supposed to happen. They’ve tried everything to disrupt and abuse this couple to play the game and nothing has worked. They’re stumped and traumatized because they’re used to people bending like other celebs and royals. Thats why they’re trying to use the Thomas Markle reconciliation angle because he can leak information. These people are desperate and broke.

      • Becks1 says:

I think you are pretty on the mark here. The press (and the BRF) loved it when they were “couch surfing” and staying in houses that weren’t theirs (I mean they didnt like that it was Tyler Perry’s, they didn’t like the idea of a rich black man having a house like that with security etc that he wasnt even USING) – when they bought the house in Montecito, announced the netflix and spotify deals – it was a a blow to the british media and the royal family. H&M were suppose to come back with their tails between their legs and I think that’s what the royal family ASSURED the press would happen – “just give them a year to run off and pretend and when they come back they’ll be grateful to you for your coverage and we’ll all move on and pretend this didn’t happen and you can keep abusing them and we can keep abusing them and everyone is happy.” (everyone except H&M, but that was never important to the royals.)

Their independence and wealth was never supposed to actually happen, and now the BRF and the press can’t figure out how to deal with it.

      • Christine says:

Karma really has been extra specific with regards to the royal family on Salty Isle. I can’t recall ever seeing anything on this scale, it’s fascinating.

      • Lorelei says:

@Christine, ITA with you (and all of the comments in this thread), and am also grateful for the fact that their timing was *impeccable*, even though they couldn’t have predicted that in 2018. If they hadn’t left the UK before the pandemic, things might be very different right now. They got out just in time, at exactly the right moment.

    • Indiesr says:

Have you ever heard the saying “Be careful what you wish for”? Well, Harry and Megan success after leaving (being forced out) is not what was expected when they started the smear campaign against them. I think they are all still flabbergasted and have yet to come to grips with the result of their wishes to get rid of them.
Harry and Meghan will continue to strive because what they do comes from their hearts, and has nothing to do with sallow expectations.

    • Edith says:

Amy Bee..Exactly, that is why i keep on saying that Harry and meghan should keep and continue using their tittles, because If they drop their tittles they will find another thing to complain about .
*They told them to leave and they left.
*They told them to pay back the frogmore cottage, they payed back..they are still not satisfied.

      • BothSidesNow says:

@ Edith, @ Amy Bee, @ Indiesr, @ Becks 1, all of you are certainly spot on in regards to all of the factors that have driven the royal ratchets into a state of complete meltdown and utter desperation. They were certain and assured that H&M would return, yet they did get what they wished for to drive them out of the country. The only problem was that they recovered, grew closer together, their marriage strengthened and their unconditional love was cemented!!

Harry and Meghan will never be free from prosecution, insults and the continued attacks. But Harry and Meghan don’t allow these words to enter their inner circle of happiness and pure joy of living their lives!! No, they don’t give them one ounce of thought or discussion.

In the end, Harry and Meghan will live a life free from ratchets/BRF attacks, criticism and attempts of destruction.
No, Harry and Meghan will have a wonderful life with their children, their work and their beautiful marriage and their unending love for each other. Everyone else will end up miserable, angry, and bitter. Unhappy for the rest of their lives. They will die on their hill of hatred, having nothing to show but a life of destruction played against two people.

      • Chaz says:

Great imagery of dying on the hill of hatred. The last stand of the foaming few. The stupid shall be punished.

    • Merricat says:

Isn’t 14 million the average energy cost to the taxpayers just to heat BP? Lol

      • JT says:

I think it was Richard Palmer who tweeted that the press was assured that H&M would be coming back to Frogmore and H&M would return. Then Harry paid all of the money back and followed by Eugenie living there. I definitely believe the royals were giving assurances to the rota.

    • Cessily says:

I like the idea of her sitting under a tree with her everyday jewelry.. really drives them crazy. (They act like she is wearing a tiara and robes 🙄)

  7. Brit says:

The DM and tabloids are never going to change and this is why Harry and Meghan ignore them and their antics. They’re not penetrating their world anymore, they have no power over her anymore which is why they keep trying to use her family against her because they have nothing else, to add that isn’t even working. Everytime she glows, smiles and is clearly successful, they’re reminded of how they screwed up. No one told them to pick sides and play themselves to support people who aren’t making them money. They have no access, leaks, and the money is drying up. Never seen people fumble the bag and get mad because the people they abused for profit and in effort to blackmail aren’t giving them the attention they clearly want. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Both the RF and BM are learning that the hard way when it comes to the Sussexes.

  8. Becks1 says:

I thought this was so sweet and soothing, I love her voice. She looks relaxed and happy.

  9. Tanya Nguyen says:

The YouTube channel was smart and closed comments to this video. I think all charities and corporations are realizing that when they post anything about H&M, it is wise to close comments to avoid disparaging and disrespectful comments from angry people.

    • ModeratelyWealthy says:

Yep, I noticed this too. They should also turn off the like/dislike tbh. The ratio is absurd- IT IS A CHILDREN´S BOOK!

      • Nina says:

On the other hand, even dislikes are a signal to YouTube that this is a video worth watching so by hitting dislikes, people are still expanding the video’s reach

      • Nemo says:

        5.1k likes
        6.5k dislikes

That is beyond petty, it’s just pure evil 😈

      • Amy Bee says:

Dislikes are in engagement. It would be better if the haters didn’t click on the video at all but we all know the haters are really some of Meghan’s biggest fans. They’re the ones who complain the podcast hasn’t come out yet.

      • Nic919 says:

I saw a video pointing out that the dislikes and likes don’t match the amount of total views and that there are bots affecting the numbers, In that the dislikes increase much quicker and the views in the same time period don’t justify it.

      • Christine says:

The number of dislikes is so accurately proving the report that came out yesterday, I’m not sure how anyone can look at those numbers and not acknowledge the fact that Meghan is being targeted by a ruthless campaign, driven by racists.

    • Merricat says:

Well, now everyone knows there is a paid-for cadre of internet terrorists who search for Meghan online for the express purpose of posting hate-filled remarks.

      • Lorelei says:

@Christine, MTE. People like us have known for so long that these numbers are manipulated and meaningless, but now *everyone* knows it.

  10. MY3CENTS says:

Next time the Queen records her Christmas message I’d like for them to note the cost of her million dollar home (s) and maybe add the cost of that gold plated piano just for fun.

    • Becks1 says:

You notice we never hear how much it costs to maintain Sandringham, a mansion with who knows how many bathrooms that the queen uses for one month a year.

(and yes I know Sandringham is private, but so is Palace Montecito.)

    • TeamMeg says:

      Hahaha totally!!

    • SnoodleDumpling says:

It’d be hard to estimate the value of the gilded piano, since it was a one-off make by a luxury piano maker specifically made to show off how fancy-dancy they could get, and gifted to Queen Victoria and Prince Albert by said makers for the sake of advertising.

I’d call it merching, but it exists in that traditional ‘support British industry and the British economy’ area that the BRF have considered their duty for centuries. Traditional model of merching, versus modern merching, I guess? Who knows.

  11. Red Weather Tiger says:

Hearing her read that book makes me tear up. I don’t even know why. Her voice is so powerful in its gentleness.

    • Myra says:

I know what you mean. Hearing her read it made me realise that this story is even more emotional than I’d originally understood it to be. She should do more voiceover works for Disney.

    • lanne says:

It’s also a reminder that she still has a voice that she’s willing to use, as much as the royals tried to silence her. Still, she persisted.

      • Petra says:

Same here, but full blown ugly face crying. For me is because no person or thing deserve this amount of hatred.

    • NotSoSocialButterfly says:

I had the same response and impression. There’s just so much love and kindness there.

    • TeamMeg says:

Same. Especially because this book reading was released on the heels of us learning (as if we didn’t already know) about the gigantic, organized crime-level social media hate campaign aimed against the Duchess of Sussex. And here she is in her garden, “calm under a tree”, reading a book she wrote in a soothing voice full of love and kindness. We love you, Meghan. ❥

    • Leah says:

Same here…and I had just done my eye makeup *ugh* Her voice!!!! so beautiful and soothing.

  12. Noki says:

I dont understand the logic of being mad at someone for living in a home that they are paying for and constantly mentioning it. However the royal family has built their empires on ill gotten gains AND still get tax payers money. Housing in the UK is stretched to the limit and these people live in castles and palaces and its Meghan who is the dodgy one ?

    • Haylie says:

White supremacist rage is never rational. And that’s what this is all about.

    • Sean says:

I casually know an older “royalist” who thinks the queen should abolish parliament and rule “as intended” while Americans are “weird” because we place so much importance on the president. This person believes Will and Kate is one of the great love stories of the royal family’s history. He also sees Meghan as some “golddigging Hollywood bimbo” with a chip on her shoulder that was able to talk the “weakest” royal into “abandoning” his family. Lastly, he hates that so many Muslim immigrants are “invading” his country

*Shrug*. I chalk it up to kool-aid drinking and racism.

      • MsIam says:

So your “friend” feels people shouldn’t have the right to vote, lol? I guess his “good old days” are the middle ages.

      • lanne says:

As in, divine right of kings? He wants a 95 year old in mental decline to be a dictator, and then he wants a guy who wished to be his mistress’s tampon to be his dictator after that? Really? You could have fun with that royalist. What if he got in the Queen’s way and she said, “Off with his head?” Would he dance his way up to the Tower of London and lay his head on a block, “anything you say, my Queen?”

      • Nic919 says:

I think the royalists are cultists in the same way as the MAGAs who still like mango Mussolini. There are sadly weak minded people attracted to strongmen and don’t mind being told what to do and not thinking for themselves.

  13. Scout says:

You know. I think a tipping point will occur where it does more damage to the RF to attack them than to just leave them alone. I’m just not sure if we are near it or not. I feel like we are…but folks can give a lot of hate.

    • Nina says:

I feel like we’re nearing that point as well

    • blackfemmebot says:

Apparently, Toxic Tom’s appearance got a lot of complaints to Ofcom from UK viewers and Twitter ripped his ass to SHREDS for still publicly emotionally abusing Meghan. I don’t think we’re close to the tipping point but it is beginning to come a little clear that even if people hate Meghan they’re still getting really tired of the BM ranting about her. These tabloids and shows will soon realise that bashing Meghan is no longer profitable and to keep the lights on they might just have to spill the dirt on the royals.

    • Southern Fried says:

They have so many reputable people standing with them. Chef Andre of WCK for starters, he’s as good as it gets imo. Then all the people making deals with them, requests to speak for their organizations and causes, supporting, joining and praising them. It’s tipped I think in their favor so all that’s left are the unhinged, Cambridge House, Clarence House along with British media scum.

      • Southern Fried says:

To finish my thoughts, I’m saying the haters are all nobodies that don’t matter much at all. Below troll status whatever that’s called.

    • Becks1 says:

I think we’re getting there. Even if you hate them, do you want to hear about them every morning on your morning news show, or listen to Meghan’s father rant when he has nothing new to say? They aren’t really doing anything at the moment, oh no, Meghan wrote a letter about paid family leave, THE HORROR …..and I know US news networks are starting to call out the british media (NBC News had a funny headline about the BM response to her paid family leave letter.)

    • MsIam says:

That’s why I think that Bot Sentinel report was so important, even if it was just scratching the surface. The more people see this is manufactured hate, the more they will start to ask “by whom”? I hope people keep calling out the media and the RF.

  14. Mina_Esq says:

Kids think princes and princesses live in castles, and $14 million is a pretty good deal for a castle 🙂

  15. Cg2495 says:

She is so beautiful and her voice is so soothing. I love it 😍

  16. Cece says:

Watching this video of Meghan reminds me that the best response to hate is to succeed!!No other words can quite convey a victory over hate than “I’m loving my life what about you?” Bravo!

    • Lorelei says:

Harry and Meghan are the embodiment of that expression “living well is the best revenge.”

    • Agreatreckoning says:

Yes. And when hate is loud, love must not be silent.

She looks happy and peaceful reading in a gentle voice a book she wrote with love.

  17. Over it says:

Didn’t Meghan get the memo from the racist that she shouldn’t know how to read? I mean hello you are black, your role is to dust the masters book, not know how to read them. And what right do you have actually writing? Your black. Get in line now. No jewelry, no books, no furniture,no house. It’s back to the hut on the plantation for you .
This is exactly these people problem with Meghan, she is intelligent, and articulate. She doesn’t need to mumble her words like someone else we know. And it kills the, because duchess mcmumbles could never ever do this.
I am so happy to see Meghan look so happy and beautiful and relax in her garden on her Chair that she laid for with her money.

    • Over it says:

Sorry paid for not laid for, type O as usual

    • lanne says:

Having her own money means having power. That’s what they can’t stand. She was supposed to be under the power of the royals, and living in fear of them revoking their favor from her. They have nothing to hold over her, no power over her. they have nothing she wants or needs. It’s beautiful to see her shine.

  18. Scorpion says:

The best revenge is living well and your paper. So keep doing what you are doing….

  19. superashes4 says:

I just love her. The Duchess can have ALL the bathrooms and ALL the gardens as far as I’m concerned.

  20. Merricat says:

The Daily Mail should just come out and rename itself The Daily Racist.

  21. Jais says:

I love that this sweet reading of her children’s book came out right after the hate campaign article. It really illustrates how ridiculous this hate campaign is and they will try and go after her for anything, even reading a sweet book.

  22. Petra says:

I was in my emotions after what we had known was confirmed on Oct 26. I cried from start to finish of the video. Everyone who is able to vote this video up on YouTube please do so, the haters are there down voting. Good news is the comments is turned off.

  23. Lory says:

They go on and on about the non story of Meghan jewelry and her allegedly receiving a gift of conflict diamonds.

Remind me where all the Queen’s jewels come from?

    • lanne says:

Amen–they can start with giving the Koh-I-Noor back to India for starters…And when Kate wears Diana’s sapphires, remember that they come from Saudi Arabia.

      • SnoodleDumpling says:

Here’s the fun thing, as far as we know Kate has only ever worn one of Diana’s sapphires, Le Gobstopper. Other Diana jewelry she’s worn: one pearl bracelet, like, twice, two or three pairs of earrings that MIGHT have been Diana’s, one pair of earrings that definitely was Diana’s but the original and very expensive natural pearls were replaced with significantly cheaper cultured ones.

It’s almost like somebody there doesn’t want Kate wearing too much of Diana’s stuff.

    • MsIam says:

I thought any jewelry that Meghan received while she was a working royal remained the property of the crown, like those Saudi earrings? Unless it was a gift from Harry or a personal gift from someone. The Fail is full of crap.

      • Becks1 says:

I think it depends how it was gifted to her. If it was given to her personally I think its hers, if it was given to her as a representative of the royal family or something its part of the crown – so the Saudi earrings were a gift from the Saudi government to her for her wedding, so I think they were more of an “official” gift, that’s why there was a record of them somewhere.

Diana had a lot of “personal jewelry” and it wasn’t all given to her after she divorced.

So if MbS sent Meghan a gift for her bday and said “happy birthday!” that would be hers, but the earrings were more of a government to government gift to mark the wedding.

  24. STRIPE says:

I just googled the value of Diana/Kate’s engagement ring. Waiting for the Mail’s article screeching about Kate wearing $390k worth of jewelry (!!!!!!!!!!!!) next time she wears it. Eye roll.

    • L4frimaire says:

This is the same jewelry Meghan wears regularly. She’s had that Cartier bracelet since before she was married, and she also has her own Cartier watch. Anyway, I would love to see her show up in a statement piece from Bulgari or Graff just to completely mess with them.

      • SnoodleDumpling says:

Eh, Bulgari and Graff seem a little too over-complicated for her style preferences. She’d probably go for more Cartier, or some Black, Starr, & Frost piece.

I could DREAM of her wearing a piece by one of the Holmstroms or Alma Pihl, but they worked for Faberge and if Meghan wore ANYTHING Faberge or even by an artisan that used to work for Faberge heads would start popping in England out of sheer rage.

      • Lorelei says:

Out of everything they print about her, every cruel lie, for some reason, one of the petty little things that drives me the most insane is when they count items that she bought and paid for with her own money before she ever even met Harry.

There are photos of her from, like, 2012–2015 wearing certain pieces — photographic evidence!! — yet they still tally it up like it came right out of the British taxpayers’ ££ yesterday.
It’s a relatively minor complaint in the overall scheme of things, but it *infuriates* me every single time.

      • Deering24 says:

“… if Meghan wore ANYTHING Faberge or even by an artisan that used to work for Faberge heads would start popping in England out of sheer rage.”

Why? Is Faberge regarded as strictly for royals? Given how nuts these people are, that would make sense…

  25. one of the marys says:

She’s such a fantastic networker and forward thinker. I love this about so many of her projects. She wrote this book and now it facilitates other charitable ventures like this literacy organization or visits to the LA nursery school. Remember when she brought her cook book to South Africa, iirc, and gave it to the chef at one of their stops. She’s a very dynamic thinker and I’m really enjoying her post royal success

    • lanne says:

And honestly, if Kate had done everything that meghan did, she’d be hailed all over the world. They hate Meghan because Meghan showed Kate up. Is still showing her up. It’s the 11th commandment in the Racist Bible: No black woman shall ever show up a white woman. Ever.

  26. MsIam says:

So proud of what Meghan and Harry, but especially Meghan have accomplished. You literally have the establishment of a country working against you and you still succeed and thrive. Amazing.

  27. Steph says:

Am iva terrible person for looking forward to the Cambridge fail at trying to compete with this? We’ll see one of them visit a predominantly Black school and try to look like they care about the kids.

  28. AmelieOriginal says:

I loved her reading of the book, it made me weirdly emotional the way she read it in her calm yet loving tone. I also was happy to finally see all the illustrations as well. I love Meghan but I was never going to buy her book as I don’t have any kids and I am not close with any young kids that I would gift the book to. So this way we all get to enjoy it! And I was so glad when I saw they had turned off the comments (though apparently the likes on the video are skewed). And all those kids look so excited with their new books!

    • BB says:

If you are able, buy the book and gift it to a school, library or literacy project. There are so many kids who would love to receive a book of their very own.

  29. GrnieWnie says:

I bought this book just bc the Daily Fail hated on it so much.

    • L4frimaire says:

I downloaded it and bought a hard copy. My kids are too old for it so will donate it at some point.

      • Lorelei says:

@L4Frimaire, me too— my son is too old for it, but there was no way I wasn’t going to buy a copy. Same with the cookbook; I’m a disaster in the kitchen and can barely scramble an egg, but I bought the cookbook just to support her. It’s purely decorative but I love having it in my kitchen, lol.

    • Joan says:

Me, too! And the Spanish version. I will donate, but also brought because of all the hate!

  30. Stacy Dresden says:

    Meghan we love you!

    • Lorelei says:

I hope that if she reads *anything* about herself online, that she also reads the comments on this site.

  31. Sunnee says:

I love her voice. So soothing

  32. L4frimaire says:

It was so cute to see all those adorable little kids with their own copy of the Bench. That video of her reading the Bench was a welcome change to the timeline after wading in the muck of the trolls from the BotSentinal report. She looks amazing, has a beautiful speaking voice, and her backyard is beautiful. The haters, who are still bruised from the BotSentinal exposé, decided to swarm the page to down like the reading, which has contributed to over 100k views. Luckily no comments because YT turns those off for children’s content. There is also an excerpt out there of her reading the Bench in Spanish and she sounds great on that too. So fun.

  33. Janice Hill says:

I’ve never actually read the book. It’s so lovely, it made me tear up. As to the pendant necklace supposedly given by a Middle Eastern potentate (read: bad), I doubt it as it’s missing a few hundred diamonds to be worthy of a gift from someone of that status. Giving something that small could easily be read as a slight on the part of the giver, something that would never be done to a member of the British royal family.

  34. Rise & Shine says:

Love her, think the book was wonderful and am so happy that she shared for all to see. As for the DM, darlins, I spent a few painful years on there, still drop in occasionally. ONLY because it used to be more fun and lighter gossipy type stuff, and because even though it was so far more right wing than I am, I did manage to get through to some people about important things and even convince a few hundred Trump supporters to vote blue, and get through to the ones that you could/can. Again, it was painful and I even got threats, but hey least it helped us a little. NOW though, it is mostly Q Anon loons, still hanging in there a tiny bit, but yeah it has gotten even worse. Can’t believe certain celebs like Kardashians and Gwyenth still advertise there. I do still send in a comment, but my faith that it will change the minds of anyone there is diminishing. And they will never accept Meghan, face it. What they did and do to her is sickening.

  35. Un - Fazed says:

I love her voice and I’m so happy for her success!!
