Gosselin drama inspires Law and Order episode

Here’s some Gosselin news you all probably won’t be tired of – they’re getting the Law & Order treatment. L&O is famous for using “ripped from the headlines” stories to inspire some of their own plotlines. The thing is, normally those stories are about crimes. Which neither Kate nor Jon Gosselin have committed, unless you count her haircut or his fashion sense. Sometimes the Law & Order stories follow the real versions fairly closely, and other times the real version is merely a jumping off point. That’s the case with the Gosselin version. L&O’s version is about a dad who’s raising ten adopted special needs children and gets a reality show after his wife is murdered.

Jon and Kate Gosselin’s public war of words has inspired an episode of Law & Order. The Oct. 16 episode – titled “Reality Bites” – centers around a reality show, Larry Plus 10, which documents the struggles of a single dad who’s raising 10 adopted special needs kids by himself — after his wife, Joy, is bludgeoned to death.

According to the New York Post, “Detectives Lupo and Bernard (Jeremy Sisto, Anthony Anderson) grow suspicious when it’s revealed that Joy Johnson wasn’t totally on board with doing the show — she feared for her kids’ privacy — and that Larry, a real estate developer deeply in debt, signed the lucrative Larry Plus 10 contract the day after his wife’s murder.”

Adding to the drama: Larry has a girlfriend — the young babysitter. There’s also a character named Belinda Alvarez (Nina Lisandrello) — who resembles octuplet mother Nadya Suleman — who has 10 kids (via in-vitro fertilization) and is competing with the Johnsons to get the show.

“I was hoping for Octuplets, but God decided to bestow that blessing on Nadya Suleman,” the character tells detectives. She says she wanted her show to be “like Jon & Kate, you know, only less depressing” — and is furious after losing out to the Johnsons, the Post reports.

Octomom! All the crazy multiples are in this one. I know there’s a lot of burnout over the ubiquitous Gosselins, but for those interested here’s a quick recap of other Gosselin news. We mentioned earlier this week that Kate has accused Jon of taking $230,000 out of one of their joint bank accounts. The hearing over the issue has been postponed because the judge’s wife passed away, so we’ll be hearing them bicker, fight, and argue over that one for a lot longer. The funny thing is that it’s a matter of facts. It’s not an issue of opinion – either Jon did or did not take it. Kate has clear proof that he did – a letter from the bank detailing the nine times Jon illegally withdrew money from their account at Susquehanna Bank. Yet he keeps saying “No no no” over and over again, as though he thinks if he says it enough, it’ll become true. Kate wants Jon held in contempt of court and have him forced to sell his luxury cars to pay back the money, which I would absolutely love. It would be so satisfying to see his early midlife crisis play toys getting towed away.

Jon has been foolishly making the rounds on the nightly entertainment shows, trying to plead his case. Problem is he doesn’t have a leg to stand on. Hey buddy here’s an idea: if you don’t like it that the public reviles you, don’t do contemptible things! Jon had his stones stuffed in a sack by Nancy Grace last night, and while I normally can’t stand her, I was yelling “right on, you go girl!” in my head. I would love to see Jon locked in a room with Nancy Grace for an hour and see what she’d do to him. For some reason Real Housewives of New York City’s Bethenny Frankel was there beating up on him as well, and while I don’t see how that was relevant, I still enjoyed it.

He also stopped by Entertainment Tonight to spread the lies further, claiming he only took out $22,000 from the joint bank account. Jon did take out $22,000 (you can see the legal papers here) on September 29th. But he also made eight other large withdrawals – totaling $230,000 – just like Kate Gosselin always said. If we’d been measuring how long Jon’s nose has grown in the last few weeks, I think we’d be somewhere near the Redwood by now. He also claimed only one of the eight kids is upset about the divorce. That might be true for now, because younger children tend to deal with divorce better than older children. There are different theories as to why, but I think they’re more adaptable at that age. But give them time Jon. Just keep being you, keep caring only about you and your luxury cars and European vacations, and I guarantee you they will be upset. Then act confused in twenty years when none of them will speak to you. But it’s worth it, because you thought your hair plugs looked so sexy in that fancy car, right?

Here’s Jon looking confused at the airport yesterday. There are probably numbers on that paper – they lead to frustration for Jon. Images thanks to Fame Pictures .

Love that pic! Stay classy Jon.

One of the other sites has him spouting off e-mails from his blackberry that Kate had just written him. Pretty funny.

  2. dawn says:

Finally a web site that just stated the facts. Why hasn’t Insider shown him to be the liar he is and pulled out the proof

  3. oh my says:

I’m not sure if the story is actually based on Gosselins. I think it’s based on the couple in Florida that adopted a bunch of special needs kids and were murdered this Summer

  4. Lynnie says:

I can’t stand Nancy Grace, either, but that video of her giving him hell is classic!

  5. samantha says:

He must have pissed somebody off in a former life, because he’s seriously one of the ugliest people I have seen on television in quit some time. Both inside and out, he’s hideous, not to mention, dumb as a box of rocks.

If it wasn’t for Kate, he’d be pissing in the sink. I doubt he’s even house broken.

  6. The Domestic Goddess says:

Wow … holy hatred. Just because you don’t like the way he looks doesn’t an a-hole make. As for all the expensive things he’s purchased um, perhaps one needs to be adding up Kate’s maintenance bills for her hair, makeup, nails, spa days, breast implants (or lift) hired cars, security, lawyers, (3 different firms)… Jon may be a bit slow, a bit naive but that doesn’t make him an a-hole. Kate has been slandering him all over god’s green acres, and he’s just not going to sit back and take it. Like it or not, he is the father and he does have his rights. It’s most unfortunate that he feels he needs to go to the public to get someone to hear him. There is no smoke without fire … Kate has it coming big time.

  7. The Domestic Goddess says:

One European vacation. One apartment. All this Jon- bashing is sickening. Kate created all of this muck. She couldn’t accept not having kids naturally, she badgered Jon into the “third” kid and he has had to live with all of it. Which he did. It wasn’t until Kate said she didn’t want him anymore, that he finally said fine, I’m gone. She can’t stand the loss of control, and she is behaving just as she has with every single person who has stood up to her. According to Kate, there is substantial funds for the kids’ futures, so really it’s about Jon and Kate. Jon isn’t her child. She wants the “old Jon” back … no she wants her patsy back – and he ain’t having it.

  8. mandajamin says:

can we stop talking about this douche i really dont care

  9. Beth says:

I was thinking that it may have the Florida case too. They may have combined both stories. The sextuplets are only five so they probably don’t understand what a divorce is. The twins are at an age where they know a lot more about their parents problems so they will probably be happy with a divorce.

  10. birdie says:

Wasn’t he whining about how they earned $500,000 last year and the $230,000 withdrawn being his paycheck… It’s clear Kate did the math in his marriage because the cost of 2 fancy sports cars – there goes Jon’s alleged “paycheck” I guess he feels entitled to all of his family’s money.

  11. Eileen Yover says:

My dislike isn’t one-sided whatsoever. Whether I see a picture of him or his ratty reverse mullet fried hair counterpart, I want to donkeypunch them equally….well him maybe more since 90% of the time he wears Gucci tennis shoes, that’s just wrong.

  12. gg says:

Why is every single personal issue of theirs played out every single week?? This stuff should be kept to the courtroom, not bashed back and forth through tons of other people and shows. The judge needs to put gags on both of them.

  13. liv says:

There is so much wrong with this situation. When did it become acceptable for people to have litters in order to acquire a lot of freebies, get a TV show and in general make a living- a rather nice living? There is nothing wrong with a person going to a fertility specialist in order to get pregnant, but if you can’t afford 8 kids, then don’t have them. These children are not a miracle of God- they are an act of science. Octomom is a copycat and lord knows how many other couples are going to jump on the band wagon in order to get rich (maybe?), get tons of freebies and oh yeah, get their 15 min of fame?
When Jon and Kate had all these kids they (reportedly) were accepting state assistance ( at least until TLC stepped in)! Where is the ethics of these docs that impregnate women with multiple fetuses without any concern of how that many children will be afforded? So when J@K lose their show (which ultimately they will), who’s going to pay the bills when they can’t afford their $1K plus house (what were they thinking in buying such an expensive home?) They’ll be forced to sell everything and come back down to earth in their life style. Ultimately, the state of Pennsylvania will be picking up part of the tab in raising those children. WAY TO GO Jon and Kate…..
P.S.- All parents of multiples are offered selective reduction when multiple fetuses implant. Most parents selectively reduce down to twins for the safety of the mother and for the best outcome for a healthy pregnancy. Why do you think sooo many over-40 Hollywood personalities are on the “twin” bandwagon these days? An act of God— NO! It’s called “selective reduction” and I guarantee Kate and Octo-idiot were offered the procedure. All women are counselled on this BEFORE they are implanted– so they can really give some thought to “what am I gonna do if all these fetuses implant?” So if they decide to go through with such a large amount of fetuses, theoretically they have a plan on how they will afford so many children. Hmmm, I wonder what Kate and Octomoms plan was???????

  14. bella mama says:

FYI – kate wasn’t “implanted”. she was going to have another drug assisted IUI but they called a stop to the cycle because she over stimulated and she got pregnant via intercourse.

  15. Shari Brock says:

Do not get me started on Octo-mom or Jon and Kate. If you cannot afford that many children or are not sure about being capable of parenting that many, then for god’s sake don’t!

  16. liv says:

Girl friend was offered selective reduction (do some research on the subject)- for whatever reason, the pregnancy was continued and look at the result (the kids are beautiful but look at the mess…….) And by the way, who paid for the NICU care?- The Gosslins or the state of Penn.? And if the state did pay for the NICU care then the state should be suing the parents for the money back, as they have a tad bit of cash in the bank now!!!

  17. Ana says:

“That might be true for now, because younger children tend to deal with divorce better than older children.”

I think it is because as young children they don’t really understand what’s going on. They’re also probably pretty used to being away from both parents. They don’t understand things in a long term basis. But that’s my theory I guess.

  18. Ana says:

“Why do you think sooo many over-40 Hollywood personalities are on the “twin” bandwagon these days? An act of God— NO! It’s called “selective reduction”

I actually believe that most of them use fertility drugs rather than being implanted with so many embryos. Again, my theory.

  19. Felicia says:

Ha, ha. That chica in the background has a hole in her sock.

  20. liv says:

Your right Ana- fertility drugs may have caused the ‘Hollywoods” to get pregnant (rather than implantation) but as far as I’m concerned, it’s semantics. If it wasn’t for the advancements in medical science, none of these people would be pregnant. I guess I am a bit touchy because I am adopted– a “biological” parent does not make a parent. I just hope a judge has intervened so that each child in Jon and Kate’s case are allocated money in a trust- the parents, as their “managers”, should get no more than what is customary – I think what they get now is probably- what could be considered- “usery”! My opinion.

  21. The Domestic Goddess says:

lol … ok so now it’s Kate on Jay Leno doing a skit? um … ok yep … you’re stressed out, left your children in the care of I would suppose your nanny, and sorry? if I was as stressed out as Kate stated she was, has time to try and prevent Jon from having his time with the twins which had been agreed to, um … huh? Aren’t the twins having a birthday party tomorrow? So I guess the “staff” is looking after all that while Kate is yet again putting herself out there? Hold on though, wasn’t it TLC crew that were helping with party for the six? And since you’re allegedly broke (as in not “liquid” ) how are you paying your staff? I wish they would both just shut the …. up, and get on with repairing the damage they’ve both created. And TLC has alot to answer for as well. I think they’ve had alot to do with all of this, and Kate knew about every detail. All against Jon who stood up to her. I don’t care about his sports car. She was driving a Mercedes SUV. What’s the difference folks? She’s as bad.

  22. The Domestic Goddess says:

And yes, I do think there is something wrong with people going against nature to feed their egos, bringing children onto this planet, and using them. And according to the show, and Kate’s own words, she did not conceive naturally.
These people need to take psychiatric exams before being permitted to proceed with invitro or any other procedure that will allow a woman to become pregnant. Kate engineered all that has come to pass, it just hasn’t turned out like she thought it would. She doesn’t have control anymore. She will eventually implode.

  23. d says:

the woman behind him has a hole in her sock. hate it when that happens…

  24. Guest says:

    kate’s skit on leno…kinda funny.

  25. cara says:

I am in total agreement about his Nancy Grace slapdown!!! I concur totally. I am usually not so into her, but she was dead on! I especially loved when she made the comment about his earings and he thought he actually won one, because for once he was being honest (they’re not diamonds) and her reply was priceless. I tried calling into her show because I want her opinion as to why women are bashing Kate so much. Talk about black on black violence, women hate on women is just as bad if not worse.

  26. domestic goddess says:

Wow … now there’s a live stream (courtesy of ET)watching the house … omg. Jon is afraid of Kate (and I don’t blame him) is all I can think of and he feels that by having witnesses he’s going to be safe. To be fair, Kate was the one who went on national TV saying that he “stole” the money. Where was that “high road” she is constantly shoving down our throats? Why didn’t she just contact her lawyers, have it dealt with privately and be done? Like most people would. But no – she has to prove what a great mommy she is and what an honest upstanding person she is versus Jon. Oh pullleeaazzeeeee. As for the JL skit, sure I saw the humour … however again, what happened to her being with the kids ALL the time she isn’t working? Being on JL isn’t work as far I can see, so just another attention getter. I am surprised that no legal action has been taken to stop these two from appearing in public at all! Maybe we need to file a class action suit against TLC for this mess. Kate needs to learn to live without all the “opportunities” as she calls them. I’d far rather see TLC giving these “opportunities” to families who are seriously struggling to make ends meet, and who have children who have special needs. How come Kate, who is “all about the children” isn’t donating some of these trips to those less fortunate? Given that she claims that there are safe funds for all of her children, time to share the wealth. Oh, and sorry but no one I know including myself, who struggles every month to make their fiscal committments, wouldn’t on air, state that they were going to buy an 8 diamond “with a pearl” in the middle ring! UM, what about those bills in your purse that you can’t mail Kate?

  27. domestic goddess says:

    d23: lolololol … love that!

  28. domestic goddess says:

Cara: True that women are the most abusive to other women. In this case, IMO, Kate does not represent the type of woman that I would want as a friend. She is verbally abusive, has said many an unkind/negative remark about one or more of her children on national tv where they will see that in the future, especially Mady. She is abusive in the way she puts down Jon in front of and to her children. From all accounts, she is a user, and has left a trail of very good people who helped her along the path to her “fame”. She abused her husband, and is now freaking out that she can’t control him. There are many reasons why this woman deserves the negative press that she receives. She has done this to herself. And her “victim” routine is just old. She claims to be all about “the children” … yet nannies seem to be the order of the day for her. I don’t believe a word of what she says about how she tells the children what is happening. She is a spinner, calculating and conniving. So … she is the worst of what women can be. IMO.

  29. domestic goddess says:

As for Nancy Grace, she is another parasite. Sticking her nose in where it doesn’t belong and making a pretty penny for it. Jon isn’t the sharpest tool on the block for allowing himself to be raked over the coals by NG, but there again, he lived with his abusive soon to be ex wife for 10 years, so I doubt whatever NG said will have any lasting impact on him.
I just feel p…ed off that after several years of being a loyal fan, that TLC has caused alot of trouble and is continuing to cause trouble. They are all about the profit margin. If Kate truly believes they “like” her, she needs to give her head a shake. She’s just another notch in their profit belt. Unfortunately, so are the kids :(.

  30. cara says:

@ domestic goddess…well maybe I’m a strange fruit then because I have three kids and I dream of year-round boarding school. Yes I love all my kids, but I am their toughest critic. And after watching kids of their generation, I am so thankful that I am a bitch towards them. As for Mady, even my eight year old has said, watching the show ( btw she LOVES it) that “she needs a smack and a half!”
By not bringing “the smack down” on our kid’s asses, we are doing them a major disservice.

And, well, I think everyone knows my position on Jon. I def don’t consider Kate’s behavior towards him as abuse. He’s a fat, lazy pig of a human who needs to be spoken to in such a way for it to get through to his thick skull. If you call that abuse, I don’t know what to say.

I do agree though that I would LOVE to see a show of a single mom from from – let’s just say a far different tax bracket, with multiple kids, trying to make it. THAT would certainly be Learning! Ahem , TLC.

  31. Judy says:

Domestic Goddess, I read your posts and think I wrote them myself. I totally agree with you on every point.
