Pete Davidson pulls out of the Blue Origin shuttle flight, he’s not going to ‘space’

One of the side-stories of the Kim Kardashian/Pete/Kanye drama has been the fact that Pete Davidson signed up for one of the Blue Origin shuttle flights. It was so random and I have to think Pete was like “sure, I guess that sounds cool” as he shrugged. It didn’t feel like it was something Pete was super-committed to, or something he had thought about too much. And now that the Blue Origin flight is coming up, Pete was like “nah.” He pulled out.

Pete Davidson will not be be blasting into space on one of Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin shuttles later this month, the aerospace company announced. The “Saturday Night Live” star “is no longer able to join the NS-20 crew on this mission,” Blue Origin tweeted Thursday night.

“We will announce the sixth crew member in the coming days,” the tweet said.

Davidson, 28, had been slated to depart for a low-Earth orbit on March 23 with investor Marty Allen, SpaceKids Global founder Sharon Hagle, her husband and Tricor International CEO Mark Hagle, entrepreneur Jim Kitchen and Commercial Space Technologies President George Nield. The Staten Island native would have been the latest big name to head to the final frontier on Blue Origin, after Michael Strahan, William Shatner and Bezos himself recently breached the atmosphere.

Earlier this month, Page Six was the first to report that Davidson had aspirations to head to space earlier this month. The comic and his girlfriend Kim Kardashian were spotted at Bezos’ Los Angeles compound in January.

“Pete is excited,” a Davidson source said at the time. “They haven’t signed a contract yet, but it looks like it’s going to happen.”

Davidson had been conspicuously absent from “SNL” the past three weeks as he filmed a movie.

I bet the excuse Pete used was “scheduling conflict” since he really is filming a movie right now. I also wonder if Jeff Bezos halfway proposed the flight to Pete and Pete thought it sounded cool… and then Bezos was like “but you have to pay for it, you know?” Bezos is charging people for those flights, very few of the people are getting on Blue Origin shuttles for free. Most celebrities are paying between $250,000 to $500,000 for a 15-minute ride. I can totally see Pete being like “wow, what a terrible waste of money.”

Unpopular Opinion: Pete is an attention wh0re just like Kim K & Kanye.

    • Luna17 says:

Starting to agree more and more. He seems like a mess but compared to Kanye is somewhat functioning but I think all these adults suck and are just about themselves.

    • ElleV says:

      lol I’d argue that’s a popular opinion

unpopular opinion: i kinda love attention wh0res… like marie kondo, i love mess!

    • Mimi says:

Idk what it is, I used to love Pete but since this Kim thing I’m kinda over him- he def loves chaos, drama and attention 🤷

Maybe he took a look at everything else going on in the world and decided that paying close to $500000 to shoot a quick load into space while elsewhere people are dying and forced to flee their homes with nothing is incredibly tacky.

    • Sudie says:

      @bears….Exactly 100% agreement.

      Hilarious, Bears.
He’s dating literally the most materialistic celeb from the most materialistic family who wastes millions and millions on things. They give their toddlers Birkins.

He probably didn’t pass the drug test you have to take in order to go. He’s been training for 3 months and there’s always an awareness it can be delayed a week or 2, so the scheduling excuse is bull.

Not sure why some of you cape so hard for this guy….

Pete’s unstable emotionally, but he doesn’t harm people. He’s handled himself well with all this Kanye harassment.

      • Julia K says:

Could be drugs but I tend to believe it was sticker shock when he was asked to cough up half a million bucks. That would hit the pause button for sure.
