Megan Thee Stallion wore gilded Moschino to the Met Gala: stunning?

It feels like all of the ladies who heard “gilded glamour” and thought “okay, gold” had the easiest f–king time of it. It really was that easy!! Like, we should have seen so many gold looks on the Met Gala carpet. We didn’t though, save for a handful of truly great looks, like Megan Thee Stallion in Moschino. She looks spectacular, I have no notes. Okay, one quibble – I feel like Meg is too into slitted skirts. This dress would have looked amazing without the slit. I love her styling though, she looks perfect.

Vanessa Hudgens also wore Moschino and she got a lot of attention because she arrived first and she hosted one of the red carpet specials. I mean… it’s sheer and black and it’s what I would have expected from her. It’s fine. Her body looks amazing.

Ariana DeBose in Moschino. I absolutely get the thought behind this, but the execution was so cheap-looking! Poor Ariana.

Nicola Coughlan in Moschino. I adore this. It’s perfect. The pink-and-black combination, the feathers, the train, the structure throughout the bust and waist. All of that and it manages to not look costume-y at all.

MJ Rodriguez in Moschino. Love this. This also would have looked amazing on Thee Stallion, right? I wonder if there was talk of maybe giving it to Meg.

Madelaine Petsch in Moschino. Messy, fun. An interesting interpretation of the theme.

Agreed, Megan looked great and spot on. It would be much better, visually, for a lower slit so we could see more of the dress.
Ariana’s dress did not impress me. I get it – theme wise but yes, execution was off.
Side note – Kate Middleton would have fit right in with her gold James Bond dress. Sorry, could not resist.

I am such a huge fan of Vanessa’s “merry widow” interpretation of the theme. Her husband’s body is barely cold but she’s already trying to catch a new man!

Madelaine Petsch’s hair looks like she just finished working out, but the dress is a fun take on the era’s fashion. Anne Shirley would absolutely DIE over those sleeves! And the “I may or may not have TB” complexion is very on theme, as well (I have shaking my head in disappointment at the fake tans. This was one night when glowing in the dark would’ve been fashionable again! I’ve been waiting for a night like that my entire life!).

Speaking of Megan thee Stallion, yesterday was declared Megan thee Stallion day in Houston to honor her philanthropic efforts. Misogynists clutched their pearls about her being recognized because “her good deeds don’t erase what she represents” (they seem to always be violently shitting their pants about what women like her represent, while simultaneously telling young women in different ways that they’re delusional and uppity when they point that out). They want to take that from her. But there was pushback against the prudes from people who benefited from Meg’s generosity.

It’s always comforting to see people pushing back against things like that, and see reminders that a woman can do what she wants with her body and still do good. Especially with all the anti-woman and anti-lgbt crap going on right now. Being a decent or good person really has nothing to do with how a woman dresses, poses, or dances, how much she’s getting laid, or how calmly and submissively she accepts others’ disrespect and desire to control female bodies.

what she really represents is women’s empowerment. of course they mad!

Why is Vanessa Hudgens suddenly everywhere? The only thing I know that she’s done recently are those awful Netflix Christmas movies. Have we already forgotten her “people are going to die anyway so I should be allowed to go to a concert!!!” comments already?

The pic of Meghan from head to bust–exquisite. Her make-up and hair are spot-on. She looks like a queen.

Michaela looks amazing! I always love seeing her on a red carpet, because she werks it!

Otaku fairy, I hear you. I think Meghan is becoming an icon and I’m here for it. She’ll be in Season 3 of Legendary, which I’m happy to say is on May 19th. You can tell what a good, kind person she is from all her comments and her fashion is to die for. She also occasionally sings with the dancers who have competed in the show as her back-up dancers and it’s always a treat. I just love her and she has so much talent and such a beautiful attitude. The competitors are gay, straight and transgender and her support and love are so unbelievably touching. I wish only the best for her and I hope she frigging conquers the world.
