So many people were at the Top Gun: Maverick premiere at Cannes yesterday! Kaiser covered Tom Cruise and mentioned that this film is of course out of contention, but that Tom got an honorary Palme D’Or and a standing ovation. That’s unfortunate, but he has had decades of work getting butts in seats and I doubt he’ll ever win an Oscar. Speaking of Oscar winners, here is Viola Davis, resplendent in an off the shoulder yellow McQueen gown with a draped neckline. She looks incredible. You can see a video of her on the red carpet here. I love how she steps to the side and her husband knows to step away! Plus check out her smile at the end.

Kaiser reminded me that Viola is likely at Cannes as part of her L’oreal contract, as L’oreal sends their spokespeople every year. Viola’s commercials make me want to buy more of their makeup, I’m already loyal to their mascara. (Voluminous Million Lashes.)

Maverick star Miles Teller was there with his wife, Keleigh Sperry. Her baby blue gown is Celine. It would stress me out to wear a dress that wrinkled and bunched up in the midsection like that.

Katherine Langford was in Valentino and this would have matched well with Sebastian Stan and Glenn Close’s Valentino looks at the Met Gala. It’s perfect for Cannes. Drama!

German actress Emilia Schüle was in a Gucci lace ruffled mess. This is a mad libs dress with a contemporary white crop top and a fussy sheer lace skirt. The ruffle at the bottom is ridiculous. The top would look amazing with a full white skirt in the same material though.

Model Toni Garrn was in a pale pink Philosophy Di Lorenzo Serafini dress with feather shoulders and cutout sides. The material makes this look cheap and it doesn’t need the cutouts. I love her hair though.
