Cardi B complains of loose skin: ‘This stomach is giving tummy tuck’

Cardi B has gotten a lot of plastic surgery over the years. She’s always been very open about it, her breast implants, her liposuction, whatever she did to her ass. I remember she had work done after she gave birth to Kulture, and I think Cardi was surprised by how pregnancy changed her body and she hated all of it. Well, last September, Cardi gave birth to her second child, Wave. She’s still dealing with the post-pregnancy changes in her body, although I think she looks great. She’s not happy about a little loose skin in her mid-section and now she’s talking about getting a tummy tuck:

Cardi B is ready to go under the knife – telling fans that her post-baby body is not “giving” what she wants it to give. The “Bodak Yellow” rapper, 29, shared via her Instagram Stories Wednesday that she is planning to get a tummy tuck after initially getting liposuction in 2019.

“This stomach, is giving tummy tuck,” the Grammy winner said, while showing off her outfit to fans and pinching her stomach.

“Like, it’s not bad, but I just don’t like this extra little skin,” she explained. “I am a little heavier than usual, but I don’t like it, I want to get rid of it. I think Wavey like … did me wrong.”

The rapper was talking specifically about Wave, her second child with husband Offset, who was born in September 2021. The couple also shares daughter Kulture, 3. Cardi B is currently gearing up for the release of her second studio album, which is set to come out sometime this year. However, the New York City native made it clear that after she’s done with the press tour she plans to get rid of that “extra little skin.”

“I cannot wait to put out this song and do more things so I can get the f–k out and do my f–king surgery. I’m over it,” she continued. “Me and surgery goes [sic] together bad. We go together real bad.”

Cardi has previously defended getting multiple cosmetic procedures, saying it’s her body and she’s doing it to feel better about herself. She’s also said sh-t about how she works hard in the studio and she’s a major celebrity, which means she doesn’t have time to work out and diet. I mean… I think there’s some body dysmorphia happening here, but I also think it is her body and she’s going to do what she wants and no one can say sh-t. I do think she looks good right now – she’s not even that much “heavier” than she was before her second pregnancy, but she looks softer. She probably hates that.

I’ve been there. Our bodies change. We are mutants, even when we chose not to give birth. Our bodies change at least once a month. I wish we were educated to be women and to live with our bodies. It is a small minority of women who do not feel these changes and who do not sense their cycles in a myriad of ways. Giving birth augments that to an incredible level and it takes, for most women, at least a year to start recuperating. I mean, the uterus only gets a couple of times bigger than normal and takes three months to go back to its more or less initial shape.
This all makes me so sad, including the fact that I did not recognise her in the video. It’s her journey but I just wish she finds the best surgeons out there that don’t exploit her and put her in danger. For someone so smart she sure seems to make a lot of rushed decisions.

In my experience, it’s the second pregnancy that forever changes your body. She will probably have the surgery. It’s her body, and at least she is being honest.

I have heard that before, even from doctors who say during the second baby you end up tearing scar tissue and it doesn’t heal the same way. Carrying a baby is a big deal, congrats on your wee ones, worth every second of it.

Her body her choice obv, but it’s a slippery slope and way too easy to overdue – a la Lil Kim. I get it, especially the loose skin tho.

I get it. I hate my loose tummy skin. I wish I could love it as a part of me but I don’t. I suck my stomach in and it wrinkles all up like a shar pei.

She’s not asking, but it takes a while for the skin on your stomach to ‘snap’ back. I’m not saying it will go all the way back, but she may want to wait a little longer before she decides how much to tuck. If it works like that. My skin is still looser than before kids, but I think it was about a year and a half before stuff stopped changing after each kid.

I’d rather this than she pull a Kardashian and deny, deny, deny.

I agree! There’s something about how little f@cks she gives that actually makes her endearing. Her energy talking about it is so much more realistic than the Kardashian’s who get defensive and blatantly lie. We have eyeballs and can see that they look like completely different people!

My question on this is – what happens if you have the tummy tuck and then another pregnancy? No kids, but I did have some friends who had post baby procedures. They all decided to wait until they were done having kids. I remember some jokes about having tubes tied and tummy tuck in a single procedure, but I didn’t think it was appropriate to ask if this was seriously done. Does anyone here know?

The tubal ligation is done by an Obstetrician/gynecologist. They go in through a small periumbilical incision, about 1 inch. Hard to ever detect when healed. You can go home the same day, usually minor discomfort.
The “tummy tuck” is done by a plastic surgeon. It’s a huge scar that goes from hip to hip, they slice the droopy part out of you and stitch you back up. Like turning a full skirt into a pencil skirt. Major recovery, sometimes incisional drains are placed. You need the bigger pain meds.
Those two surgeons don’t typically work together. I’m sure in some place like L.A. they have a concierge type service where they coordinate surgeons, but they each have their own life, practice, training, and scheduling them in the same block of time would be a challenge.

I appreciate her honesty. I cannot stand celebs lying about obvious surgery.

She works with a surgical support concierge that’s on IG called surgeonmade_curves. The account highlights different celebrities’ and influencers’ procedures and doctors, it’s fascinating!

I think people can do what they want to do, yes. I don’t care for the broadcasting of it, neither do I respect people though who totally deny doing anything when they clearly have.
But her face, I had to look twice to even consider this being C.B.

Just had my tummy tuck for the same reason! I tried for years to love that part of myself, to just buy clothes I felt good in….nope! NOPE NOPE! I’m still in bed all wrapped up and not having that skin is worth every damn penny. They took off 9lbs of skin and for the first time in years I don’t have the pressure of my tummy on my thighs, I bought a romper for the very first time ever….find a good surgeon and do you. Good on her, I’m here for normalizing changing something that you don’t like!
