Big Sean and Jhené Aiko have both been around and popular for the past 10 years or so. They have a collab on a breakup banger, “Beware,” from 2013 and they’ve been on/off as a couple since 2016-ish. They’ve been solidly “on” for the past few years. And happy news — now they’re expecting their first baby together! The couple was spotted out and about with Jhené’s baby bump in LA over the weekend, then Sean posted the news on his Instagram, and Jhené’s rep later confirmed to People.
Congratulations are in order for Big Sean and Jhené Aiko. The hip-hop power couple is expecting their first child together.
Sean confirmed the exciting news on social media over the weekend.
“Whole new motivation forreal!” the rapper wrote Sunday (July 3) on his Instagram Story, “Very grateful God continues to bless us, thank you.”
“Can’t wait to be a Dad,” he added alongside a black heart emoji.
Sean and Aiko, both 34, were photographed walking alongside each other in Los Angeles on Saturday, where the singer-songwriter was seen with a baby bump.
“The couple is overjoyed and looks forward to this next chapter,” a representative for Aiko told People.
The songstress also subtly acknowledged her pregnancy on Instagram by posting a childhood photo of herself holding her belly. See the adorable post here.
Aiko already shares a 13-year-old daughter, Namiko Love, with singer O’Ryan. This will be Big Sean’s first child.
Sean and Aiko have had an on-again, off-again relationship since 2016. Their friendship began in 2013 while working together on the rapper’s song “Beware” and “I’m Gonna Be.”
The pair also collaborated on their Twenty88 project in 2016. The self-titled album hit No. 1 on Billboard‘s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200.
This baby will probably be so cute because Sean and Jhené are both really cute (and petite). Allegedly, Sean’s stage name does not refer to his height. Anyway, they seem like a good couple. They’re both 34 and seemed to have chilled out from whatever drama led to their few breakups and makeups in earlier years. Sean’s definitely calmed down from his love triangles. I guess most people are a little dramatic with relationships in their 20s. This is the first child for Sean and the second child for Jhené, who has a 13-year-old daughter with O’Ryan (Omarion’s younger brother). In a song he released in 2020, Sean alluded to a previous miscarriage they experienced, so this is likely especially happy news for him and Jhené. This is really exciting for them! Can’t wait to see the eventual photos and hear about the name.
