Aaron & Sam Taylor Johnson stepped out for the Locarno Film Festival

During the promotion for Bullet Train, Aaron Taylor Johnson went solo to most of the premieres, and he would pair up with his costars for photos. Considering there are always rumors about Aaron’s marriage to Sam Taylor Johnson, I thought it was interesting. Usually, they do a lot of their red carpets together, and I wondered if Sam was just busy or if Aaron just didn’t want to bug her while he was doing promo. Looking at Sam’s IG, I see that she was around for one stop of the European promotion, although there weren’t any photos of her at the major photo agencies. It does look like she turned up at the Paris premiere.

In any case, Aaron turned up at the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland this week, and Sam was with him. Aaron received the festival’s Davide Campari Excellence Award, so Sam walked the carpet with him to support him, then Aaron made a nice (and long) speech about his career. Brad Pitt even sent in a video congratulating Aaron and marking the 75th anniversary of the film festival.

During his speech, Aaron described himself as a part-time actor, saying: “I genuinely don’t follow my career outside my world view. I’m in my own little bubble with my wife and daughters. In fact, sometimes people ask me what I do, and I say I’m a dad and I do acting on the side, part-time.” This is just in case anyone wondered if Sam and Aaron are okay. They’re okay. They’re fine. They just did a vow renewal in June. So they’re okay.

Time to start the post-vow renewal countdown….

Nah, I can’t with these two. We just had a spirited discussion yesterday about dane cook being disgusting, I think STJ is pretty disgusting too.

Gag, “I’m in my own little bubble with my wife” (from a dude who was groomed as a teenager by his decades-older wife and former boss) reeks of a control dynamic.

This. There is nothing romantic or endearing about this relationship.

She’s a predatory sleaze. I feel sorry for him.

What is this, MacBeth?? Predatory sleaze? Did I miss something? I thought he was an adult when they got together.

Sometime people renew their vows because they are actually still in love and want to celebrate. I think they are adorable and I wish them the best!

She started grooming and dating him while directing his teenage self in one of her movies.
It’s gross. Less gross maybe than Dane but still solidly into the gross predator spectrum.

To this day, my favorite Aaron movie continues to be Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging. I don’t care what anyone, including him, says. I! Love! That! Movie!!

Don’t want to get to caught up in semantics but I don’t think the term “grooming” is appropriate here.

Aaron was 18 when they met and started dating. Very young but he was not a minor. This matches the production timeline for the film “Nowhere Boy”.

Unless they are lying about when they met, Sam’s actions don’t meet the definition of grooming because Aaron wasn’t a minor.

    • Malificent says:

He wasn’t legally a minor, but it’s still inappropriate conduct. She was his boss. Age gaps matter less when both partners are older, but I don’t believe that it’s possible for any teenager to have a healthy relationship dynamic with someone who is 20+ years their senior.

      • Lolo86lf says:

You brought up a very important point. Aaron back then was a very attractive young man with lots of money and fans his age who would have tripped all over themselves to date him. Why on Earth would he choose a woman 23 years his senior? What did she say or do to him that a 18 year old girl didn’t? Was it her maturity? I am at a loss here.

  6. Lolo86lf says:

I think this case is a bit more suspicious than Cook and Kelsi. They met when he was 18 and she was 42. And they got married 3 years later when he was 21. I would say she took advantage of his youth. Males mature at a much slower rate than females. At 18, his maturity level was probably of a 16 year old or so I guess I am not a psychologist. So yes, 16 year old men can be groomed a whole lot easier can’t they? However look at them now. They have lasted in marriage a whole lot longer than couples who are the same age. Good for them.

Aaron and Taylor Kitsh were jerks when they were filming Salvajes with the then beginner Sandra Echeverría. It was her first film and she kept quiet at the time, but even though Aaron later acknowledged his mistake and apologized, she has not been able to forget how bad it was and the blows she suffered because of them.

A suspicious amount of comments about their ages being ok here….
