Cardi B works out for two hours and then stretches for an hour a day

Cardi B made a TikTok showing fans “a regular day as Belcalis and not Cardi B.” I love stuff like this, though I’m pretty sure that amazing closet is part of the Cardi B stuff. In addition to things like getting ready and cooking and shopping and taking care of her kids, Belcalis/Cardi showed clips of herself with at least two trainers in the gym. She shared that she works out for two hours a day and then stretches for one hour. Most regular people do not have that much time!

Cardi B is sharing her workout routine.

During a TikTok giving a glimpse into her day-to-day life “as Belcalis [Almanzar]” on Tuesday, the 30-year-old rapper revealed that she is currently stretching for an hour a day because she wants to be “as flexible as when I was a stripper.”

“I’ve been working out lately for two hours a day, and then I stretch for an hour,” she said during the video, where she also revealed that she takes daughter Kulture, 4½, to the gym with her.

She continued alongside clips of her doing the splits and various stretches, “I want to be able to be as flexible as I was before I had my son [Wave, 19 months], but my real goal is to be as stretchable and flexible as I was when I was a stripper.”

“But whew, you can’t build Rome in a day. But can you?” Cardi, who started stripping when she was 19, added with a laugh.

Before her stretching routine, Cardi worked out with a personal trainer in the gym, with her regimen including squats, battle rope exercises, weights, pull-ups and exercises with a medicine ball.

Discussing why she works out, the “I Like It” hitmaker said, “A lot of people are so ignorant like why are you working out, you have lipo, but there is this thing called visceral fat.”

“Visceral fat is that fat that surrounds your organs that you cannot lipo, and that’s why sometimes girls with lipo might have a snatched waist with a gut, and that’s because they’re not working out their visceral fat — they just keep eating and eating and their waist is small, but they still got a belly,” she continued. “That’s why you gotta work it out.”

“And I want toned thighs, and you can’t buy toned thighs,” Cardi added.

According to Mayo Clinic, visceral fat is “belly fat that accumulates in your abdomen in the spaces between your organs. Too much visceral fat is strongly linked with a greater risk of serious health problems.”

Two hours of working out is a lot; one hour of stretching is a lot; and three hours total is a lot. It’s a lot of time in the gym. I average 70-90 minutes a day and I find that exhausting. And as someone who has copped to her various surgeries, I like that Cardi is being transparent about how and why she works out. Cardi works out to decrease her visceral fat, which cannot be lipo-ed away, and because she wants toned thighs. I also want toned thighs and wish they could be bought, but alas. Also, how do she (and her trainer) look so pretty with their hair down and did. I’m so sweaty and frizzy when I work out. Cardi says she stretches for a full hour each day because she wants to be as flexible as when she was a stripper. I would like to be as flexible as when I was a cheerleader, but I find stretching so boring and only have the patience for the bare minimum so I don’t hurt myself running. Sometimes I think about how Taylor Swift once said she stretched every day for a year until she could do a split, and now learning about Cardi’s hour per day, maybe I can at least muster up the motivation to stretch for a little bit longer each day.

Don’t know too much about her but what i do know i really like. She seems like a perfect embodiement of third wave feminism: smart, honest, political, savvy.

She’s actually pretty horrible. She pled guilty last year to hiring men to beat up two women that were sleeping with her husband. She’s also referred to dark skin women as roaches. She admitted to drugging and robbing men back in her stripper days. I wouldn’t call her a feminist.

This is the reality of being a public figure – especially one like Cardi-B who needs to maintain a certain ‘stacked in the right places’ look.

I wish more female stars would be honest about how much goes into the ‘product’ they become for career purposes.

Just a note from painful experience…stretching/mobility/Pilates…whatever you choose is worth the time. It can help prevent injuries and will help you recover from injuries. I have worked out religiously since 16 and now at 50 I am grateful for the flexibility I do have. Be careful, go slow etc. So worth it

Stretching may be boring but it’s really important to maintain flexibility. Working out first and then stretching is the way to go. You want to warm up, work out, then stretch. Flexibility without strength or strength without flexibility lead to injury. She’s lucky that she enjoys it and has the resources.

I really like her. Reading this, gives me the motivation to work out tonight.

Unrelated and on a very superficial note: her kids are so beautiful and cute!

  6. Busybody says:

I like her too and appreciate her honesty about what it takes to obtain/maintain her figure. I’ve always wondered about celebrities’ “maintenance routines”—I can imagine that she had to bust her butt working long hours and was under a lot of stress until she made it, but now? Do they all have hours for the gym? I can barely get my 30-minute run in around work, kids, household chores, the dog and sleep.

Working out is part of their job. They don’t have to go into an office for 8 hours a day. And they have maids, assistants, nannies, etc. that take care of all the day to day things that take up so much of non-famous people’s time. So please don’t feel bad. The rich and famous are NOT just like us!

    • Fabiola says:

Before she was complaining how as a celebrity she doesn’t have time to go the gym like a regular person so she has to get surgery. Pick a lane.

  7. C says:

Couldn’t be me but good for her!
And yeah, celebs have the time for this because they have to basically.

  8. Alarmjaguar says:

Stretching after a workout is my favorite part! But three hours, phew.

  9. Snuffles says:

I really like Cardi too (but I don’t like Offset!). That’s a lot of work out time but have you seen how much she eats? She frequently posts her meals and she eats a LOT!

  10. Katie Beanstalk says:

This reminds me of Britney Spears doing 1000 situps a day. I guess if you’re being some kind of sex symbol it’s important…

I workout for about 3 hours a day (not every single day but almost regularly). I have a full time desk job but I still make the time and I admit, it’s time consuming. I do it to help with depression/anxiety and obviously to stay the pants size I am. Also helps with an autoinflammatory disorder. It’s doable if it’s something you want to obtain but definitely difficult.

  12. lucy2 says:

I sometimes struggle to find 20-30 minutes a day, it’s a luxury to have 2 hours, but I also wouldn’t want to HAVE to work out like that!
    Her kids are super cute.
The artist in me is always puzzled by people who have large blank walls with nothing on them, like over her bed.

I just read this article about all the work plastic surgeons do to fix “ozempic body”. The weight comes off but the skin becomes flabby (especially around the stomach) so they remove the excess with surgery and add fillers to smooth. Just goes to show you that there is no substitution for working out and eating healthy. Cardi is smart and now I’m going to do some googling on visceral fat.

I’ve ALWAYS liked Cardi and she looks fantastic. So much positive energy from her. And very talented at what she does. Love it.
