The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge meet staff and pupils from Holy Trinity Church of England First School in Berwick-Upon-Tweed. Their Royal Highnesses’ visit recognised the work of teachers over the past year, including their efforts to keep schools open for vulnerable children and the children of key workers. During the visit, The Duke and Duchess met some of the school’s teachers to hear how they adapted their operations to provide online learning and support to their students during the lockdown, and the measures that were subsequently put in place to allow pupils to safely return to school.
