Blind item update: who left a bag of cocaine near the White House situation room??

On Sunday, the White House was briefly evacuated when security found a mysterious bag of white powder. They were following the protocols in place for a possible biological agent, except that as soon as the Secret Service conducted a preliminary test on the white powder, it was clear that it was just cocaine, not anthrax. Which led me to making the incident into a blind item: who left their bag of coke in the White House?

As many commenters noted, most cokeheads – or even casual cocaine users – always know the location of their cocaine, at all times. They keep track of it. These are not potheads who lose track of their stash. Which begs the question, why would someone bring cocaine into the White House, only to then lose track of it and leave it somewhere? It’s incredibly curious, and the fact that GOP operatives are now crying 24-7 about a big cocaine conspiracy in the White House, makes me believe that this could have been a set-up. Well, get this: the cocaine was actually not found in an area accessible to tourists, as previously reported.

Multiple officials involved in the White House cocaine inquiry now say the bag of powder was found in a cubby near the White House’s West Executive entrance, not the formal West Wing lobby, as was previously reported. Investigators expect to be done with the investigation by Monday, said two sources familiar with the investigation. The inquiry had previously been expected to take a couple of weeks.

In updating where the cocaine was found, officials said that area was also heavily trafficked. The cocaine was found in an entrance area between the foyer and a lower-level lobby, the sources said. The entrance is near where some vehicles, like the vice president’s limo or SUV, park. It is one floor below the main West Wing offices and on the same floor as the Situation Room and a dining area.

Forensic work on the cocaine bag continued Thursday, though officials are setting low expectations that they will be able to identify who left it.

Press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre declined to answer when she was asked at Wednesday’s briefing which of the two West Wing entrances was involved, saying she would let the Secret Service address that.

The sources maintain that the area is highly trafficked, in keeping with Jean-Pierre’s characterization Wednesday. The area is transited by VIPs, visitors, tourists, staff members, military officials and facilities operations employees.

“What I wanted to be very clear is that this is a heavily, heavily trafficked, heavily traveled, to be more accurate, area of the campus of the White House,” Jean-Pierre told reporters Wednesday. “It is where visitors to the West Wing come through.”

[From NBC News]

Yeah, I get it – the coke was not found in an area frequented by casual visitors on a tour of the White House. It was found in a cubby (!!!) in an area where people are checked in to visit someone specific working in the White House. As in, you would go through this area if you had a meeting with the White House Chief of Staff, or you had a meeting with Biden staffers in the Roosevelt Room. If you were a Republican congressman about to chat with Biden officials about policy, you would probably go through this area and have access to this cubby. Which, again, begs the question: why would you go out of your way to bring cocaine into the White House, only to leave it in a well-trafficked area? It really does feel like a conspiracy, but not the one the MAGAts think.

Sooo not his son. Ok, next! I’m so sick and tired of these people constantly shitting on HB doing everything to push him to relapse, it’s so disgusting to witness.

    • Erin says:

I’m also so sick and tired of hearing about HB, HE’S NOT THE PRESIDENT! And the fact that we are really going to act like the previous presidents kids were huge POSs and in some cases suspected drug users as well. It’s always projection with them and this was definitely a secret service leak. Plus the clutching of pearls from the right who are bought and paid for by Wall Street trying to act like coke is used everyday by any of those people. And yes this is a SS leak for sure.

      • Erin says:

Lots of autocorrect mistakes in my comment.
        The previous president’s kids *weren’t.
Trying to act like coke *isn’t used

    • Lightpurplek says:

It really shows how immoral and unethical they are. They truly want to push a relapse, no matter how much harm it would do to his family & possibly claim his life, just because they think the emotional toll would push his father to resign

  2. Amie says:

Definitely feels like a plant. Maybe a SSA?

    • Ash says:

Tbh it could be a plant. It’s already been verified that many past and current secret service agents are MAGA, one of them was charged with aiding Trump in stealing documents from the White House. Several of them were involved in the 1/6 terrorist attack and deleted text messages, I remember when the news came out people said Major Biden was biting certain agents for a reason and I 100% believe it.

  3. C says:

Republicans: “Please everyone! Stop getting upset our judges gutted Biden’s loan forgiveness program because there was a BAG of COCAINE that NOBODY can attribute to anyone in some drawer!”
    Ok. Lol.

  4. Lily says:

Too many rogue far right agents in the Secret Service. It was planted.

  5. Southern Fried says:

A set up by a rethug. No doubt at all. Whether a legislator or SS or fox press it’s definitely the work of a rethug.

    • Libra says:

New word for me. Looked up rethug; an unrepentant school bully.

    • Jan90067 says:

Word I made up to use about them is republiTHUGS (small r- they don’t deserve the respect of a capital R).

And yes, def a SS plant. Still too many MAGAt/trumpet supporters in there.

  6. ML says:

This absolutely feels as though it was done on purpose. I’m upset that they might not catch the person responsible: they have to tighten security. I’m glad this wasn’t dangerous, but they need to be able to find anyone who leaves unknown and potentially dangerous substances in the WH. I’m glad everyone is okay, but this situation sucks.

  7. MsIam says:

Seems like the White House would be one place with cameras everywhere, especially at entrances. Will it be that hard to identify the person? If it is then it sounds like a security lapse.

    • Ace says:

This is what I’ve been thinking since it was first reported. Are there really no cameras in the West Wing? Or at least in the corridors or whatever bullpen situation they have going on for low level staffers. Because wtf if there really are non cameras.

      • Jan90067 says:

Cameras supplied by the same company whose cameras mysteriously weren’t working the night Epstein Epsteined *himself*??

  8. theRobinsons says:

The question should not be “Who”, but “Why”… there are cameras and surveillance in the corridors of the WH. So it’s already known who, and it was not Biden’s son. Which is a tired troupe of insanity by the delusional gop.

  9. TQ says:

Again, could be a set up. Could also be someone partying too hard the night before (and forgot it was in their pocket?) or otherwise came in for a meeting and didn’t realize they might get checked? Dropped it in the cubby to avoid detection? Like a panic drop? So not losing track of the stash because too high as I alluded to in the other post, but rather not wanting to get caught red handed?

  10. Ameerah M says:

The West Wing has two entrances. One is more secure while the other is more open. Journalists, tour groups, delivery trucks etc can in fact access it. So to say it was the West Wing doesn’t actually make it less accessible. And in fact that actually makes it MORE possible it was planted IMO. Because if you can use the second West Wing entrance to plant the coke – it would make it more suspicious looking. AND you can leave out of the entrance pretty much undetected

  11. BeanieBean says:

Wasn’t crazy about their bringing up the VP when talking about random cars pulling up. If it could be anyone’s vehicle, why name her?

    • Vernie says:

I noticed that too, Beanie Bean. Like, what gives? Why are they calling out the WOC here?

  12. BQM says:

There are apparently fingerprints and dna on the bag so it should get interesting. WH and congressional Employees are fingerprinted so it wouldn’t be hard to match. I’m going to laugh if it comes back to a gop operative of some kind.

  13. tealily says:

Please. You know Don Jr. was dropping cocaine all over the West Wing when his dad was in office.

  14. ElleE says:

I am getting the insurrection heebie-jeebies, testing our nation’s security & weak spots.
We basically agreed to constant , extra judicial surveillance after September 11 that should include the White House as well.

  15. Sweeper says:

This is awfully close to what Jimmy and Kim do to Howard Hamlin on BCS (planting coke in Howard’s gym locker.) it’s easy to imagine a delusional vicious idiot watching this and copying their actions, substituting a cubby for the gym locker.

  16. Jeanette says:

I thought set up too..but now I am wondering why the Bidens dont deny it?

    • Saucy&Sassy says:

Why would the Bidens deny it? There’s an investigation and the culprit will be caught. I don’t know if the Bidens would comment then. It sounds to me like the Secret Service needs to do a better job in making sure powder substances can’t enter or be left in the WH. IMO, that’s the bigger issue. That’s what should be talked about.
