America Ferrera admits her guilty pleasure is ‘not showering for a few days’

It’s hard out here on the Dirty Ass beat, but this one isn’t so bad. The ladies of Barbie sat down and recorded a cute video with Vanity Fair (before the strike). The video is “how well do you know your costars,” it features Greta Gerwig, Margot Robbie, Issa Rae, Kate McKinnon and America Ferrera. America’s part is getting a lot of headlines – she asked the women to name her biggest guilty pleasure. Their answers ranged from self-care stuff, eating cookie dough or looking on Redfin and dreaming about real estate. America says no, she doesn’t feel guilty about any of that, then admits: “I’m going to really regret saying this… It’s not showering for a few days.” You should feel guilty about that!! Here’s the video:

I love the way the other women were kind of grossed out. They were really surprised. America has two kids, btw – a son and daughter, both under the age of five. I can’t imagine not showering for a few days, but maybe she simply doesn’t have time.

Issa’s “America, no” was also very, very funny.

Saw the movie yesterday. The cast, costumes, sets, and soundtrack are delightful. The script is so heavy handed it gave us black eyes.

Heavy handed huh. I just realized that I’ve read through the Oppenheimer reviews and just saw stars for Barbie and said good reviews I’m going. Probably cause I’m going to watch Barbie anyhow. I will watch Oppenheimer, but not necessarily at the movies. Yeah, I know it will be better in the theaters, but I probably won’t go. Barbie yes. America, you looked great in that red dress. I find a bath relaxing and a shower invigorating. Don’t know why celebrities keep saying they don’t like to bathe for a couple of days or until the funk sets in. Why not keep it to yourself? They must don’t mind the comments. Oh well to each his own. I’m happy I don’t have to smell you. Too much information.

Oh man, judging by the last thread about showers, this is gonna get UGLY. I say let the woman stink if she wants to FFS.

  3. Ameerah M says:

She should have lied and made something up. I really want celebs to stop talking about their hygiene habits. She looks amazing in that red dress in the last photo. I hope she showered before putting it on since it is mostly likely a loaner

I stand with Issa on this one.

Well, on pretty much everything, but especially on this.

I wish people would stop already with the bathing thing, also the “what they should be eating” thing, what they should be drinking. All the things people do in private in their own homes. Everything’s pick, pick, pick, in the global world of judgemental nannies.

The only thing, and I mean, the only thing, OK, that these celebrities accomplish with these admissions, is make people involuntarily imagine their stench every time we look at a photo of said celebrity. Kristen, Dax, Ashton, Mila, America, this is not good for your PR that all I think of now when I see photos of you is, you stiiiiiiiink. Reader, I gag.

  7. Val says:

The only valid excuse for not showering for more than a day is depression. Period, full stop.
