Paris Hilton on how she reads the culture so well: ‘Maybe it’s being an Aquarius’

Paris Hilton covers the latest issue of Us Weekly, seemingly to promote all of her reality shows, projects, perfumes and everything else. I honestly get a kick out of seeing Paris in those Hilton commercials – while her family no longer owns the Hilton hotel chain, it’s an amazing wink to the consumer and a real full-circle moment for Paris and her family. At this point, I’m not really mad at Paris anymore – she was a pill in her 20s, but she’s matured a lot and I even admire her for the way she’s built her brand and remained somewhat relevant. She’s also a mom now – she and Carter Reum welcomed baby Phoenix in January. Some highlights from this interview:

Whether she thought she would be a media mogul when she was a kid: “When I was a little girl, I dreamed about becoming a veterinarian. As I grew up, my dreams evolved, and I became more interested in fashion and music, and later business. But my love of animals always stayed with me. That’s why I have so many doggies.

She’s one the top-earning DJs in the world: “I’ve always been about pushing boundaries and exploring different sides of myself. Music has just been so healing for me and one of the best ways for me to express who I am. I just focused on doing what I love and being on stage. [I recently played] at Tomorrowland in front of hundreds of thousands of people, and seeing the happiness in their eyes and the way that the music makes them feel is just such an indescribable experience. It makes me so proud to really have proved everyone wrong and become such a success in this world.

How she has managed to read the culture so well for years: “I can see into the future! [Laughs.] I’ve always been ahead of my time, whether it’s been reality TV, social media, fashion, music. Maybe it’s being an Aquarius — I don’t know! It’s just part of my superpower.

Her show, Paris in Love, was renewed for a second season. “It’s launching later this year on Peacock! Season 1 was all about the wedding, and now it’s just [more] about this next phase in my life — being a new mom and Phoenix coming into this world. I’m really excited.”

A working mom: “It’s definitely a lot to balance it all. I love what I do so much, but my baby is my top priority. All of my priorities have shifted. I am saying no to so many things because I want to be able to spend as much time with [my son] as possible. He’s just my little angel.

She also told Us Weekly that she can’t wait to have a daughter. Which surprised me, because I kind of thought that she would want all daughters, really – especially since she became a mother through gestational carrier. As for Paris’s Big Aquarius Energy… there might be something to it, you never know. You have to admit – she really has read the cultural moments a lot better than most professionals.

I know it’s a snooze to always comment on photoshopped cover photos, but really, I don’t get it. Why put Paris Hilton on the cover of your magazine and then alter her into, I dunno, Holly Madison? FFS.

    • Erin says:

LMAO! That’s actually exactly what I was going to comment on since the quotes are actually pretty boring to me. I know it’s us weekly but come on, I’m tired of seeing covers that look AI generated they’re so photoshopped.

  2. Dee Dee says:

She isn’t wearing blue contact lenses in that cover shot. Interesting.

  3. Maida says:

She posed with Linda Yaccarino for a post on “X” a couple of weeks ago, with Linda Yaccarino captioning it “We sliv. We X,” picking up Hilton’s “sliving” (slaying + living).

Like “fetch,” I don’t think “sliving” is going to happen.

Paris has always said she wanted twins – a boy and a girl. So she might have decided not to try, since having a gestational carrier is already challenging. Or she might have tried and had it not work out. My last round of IVF they used two embryos, one had a really small chance of making it. Twins would have been really hard, but I was still sad not to have them both make it. And grateful one did. I hope being a mom is healing for her after all she went through.

Yeah…no. I actually haven’t been able to forget how much of a racist, homophobic piece of trash she is and has always been. She used to use the N word with no repercussions and would use nasty slurs about gay people saying they’re “disgusting and all die of AIDS” It’s because of articles like this one that everyone just keeps forgiving her, but it’s a no for me. Just a few years ago she was an open Trump supporter! Wtf even is this garbage

@DulceTx…THAT PART! Like GURL…the ONLY culture you reading/pushing is rich MAGA culture!!! It REALLY is SAD to me…to have ALL that $$$ and GORGEOUS hotels/resorts/connections…ALL OVER THE 🌎…they’re ALL so homogenized & bland AF!

So much this and I side eye the people who make comments like “I’ve all like Paris” because your telling me exactly who you are.

    • Normades says:

She was a total mean girl and liar. I have no soft spot for her whatsoever.
Also she’s not that much of voyante. She’s making a bit of a comeback but was pretty C list this last decade. Her assistant Kim K surpassed her by every mark.

    • Lucy2 says:

Thank you! She is not a good person and doesn’t deserve any redemption or attention.

  6. Erica says:

Has she though? She has a long history of using the n word, saying terrible things about Jews, and of course racism.
I appreciate that she hustles, but it seems like she mostly stumbled her way into her first job on reality TV. Nicole Richie carried that show.

  7. Lisa says:

she hosted a pride event where she was the DJ and the drag queens invited to perform were not treated well. she’s the same as she always was.

  8. girl_ninja says:

It seems as though some are willing to forget her racist, homophobic past because of the abuse she suffered from that boarding-camp. I just still think she sucks to be honest.

  9. olliesmom says:

I don’t know who that is on the cover of US magazine, but I don’t think that it is Paris Hilton.

She’s one the top-earning DJs in the world……. I’m still trying to wrap my head around this.

Culture doesn’t include fashion then? For a very long while she was still dressing like it was 2005. She still doesn’t seem very deep and rode a sex-tape wave and is still selling herself as a savvy business woman. The truth is, in LA if you get mildly famous, a ton of suits with business savvy will descend on you and tell you how to get rich. She got with the right people who could monetise her infamy.
