Kim Kardashian got a ‘buzzcut’ & bad makeup for the CR Fashion Book editorial

Kim Kardashian covers the latest issue of CR Fashion Book, Carine Roitfeld’s little magazine. Kim has covered this magazine three other times, and she’s actually tight with Roitfeld, who interviewed Kim for the magazine. The editorial is… um… well, I’ll say something nice. I get tired of Kim doing basic-bitch editorial work where she just looks the same as she does on the reality show. It’s cool that she’s open to doing more avant-garde editorials. But the buzzcut and the harsh makeup… yikes. She looks like hell. Some highlights from Roitfeld’s interview with Kim:

Kim’s icons: “I’m not just saying this but you are one of my style icons. Elizabeth Taylor is my jewelry icon and I always admired her for her heart and activism to change the world. Marilyn is just an iconic strong woman to me. And most importantly, my sisters, my mom, and grandma.

What makes an icon: “An icon to me is someone who fights for what they want and goes after their dreams and makes them happen. Someone who is so unapologetically themselves but maintains the kindness and warmth I connect to.

When she feels most free: “When I make business choices that are from the soul and not a quick, easy decision. I’d rather take the longer route and go with the journey than an easy choice that seems expected.

Celebrity crushes: “I have one or two! We’ve talked about them butttttt you can never tell. But I would say my ultimate celebrity crush is JFK Jr.

Her work in criminal justice reform: “Our system unfortunately just doesn’t run properly. It’s heartbreaking to see that we don’t set up our incarcerated people to succeed after they are released. We should have resources to really help people grow and be better. But it needs to start in our communities. I just want to do anything I can to fight for people that others have given up on. So much change has to happen and I just feel compelled to help change the stigma around people who have been incarcerated.

Yeah, this wasn’t some deep, soul-searching interview, but I am curious about Kim’s “celebrity crushes” right now. She’s reportedly seeing Odell Beckham now? I wonder if she didn’t want to say his name. As for her point about “we don’t set up our incarcerated people to succeed after they are released” – it’s true. It’s a huge reason why America has a huge recidivism problem, because there’s not much support for the recently incarcerated, so they reoffend and end up back in prison.

I actually prefer this look to the usual, generic instagram-face aesthetic.

The brunette version of Kanye’s current wife’s styling.

I’m super curious what happens in 15-20 years when little Chicago grows up and looks stunning with Kim’s original face. What a mindfuk that must be.

I wish the best for all those KarJenner children, but I worry most about Chicago. Kim can be really jealous and vindictive when other people steal her spotlight.

I just find her so tiresome. Never liked her personal style.

There’s also not much support for many people before they get incarcerated. Imagine what communities might look like if there were easy to access recreational programs with coaching, meaningful vocational education, paths to university education and stable housing— that didn’t require searing debt. I agree that it would be wonderful and should be essential to have supports in place for the recently and not so recently incarcerated. It would be even more wonderful, though, IMO, if we had more supports and better pathways for all of us — especially our young people. Too bad that the US brand of capitalism is benefiting from the school to prison pipeline.

I mean I like that she’s experimenting with new looks, but I do think she looks absolutely terrible here.

Hey so Odell Beckham is listed on the wikipedia page of the Q-Anon bullsh*t movie Sound of Freedom as an endorsement. This is just what Kim needs for sure.

  8. Big Bertha says:

She’s giving Detox vibes (the drag queen).

Kim posted these two months ago, why are you covering it now?
