The ‘Beyonce: Renaissance World Tour’ film will be released on December 1st

Beyonce’s Renaissance Tour was a global spectacle which dominated headlines and social media buzz for months. The Beyhive was flying all around the world to catch the concerts and between this tour and Taylor Swift’s Eras tour, we likely saw the two largest-grossing tours by female artists of all time. Taylor put together an Eras Tour concert film which will probably gross eleventy billion dollars too. Now it looks like Beyonce directed herself in a Renaissance tour film!!

Capitalizing on the anticipated big screen fever of Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, we are hearing heavy buzz this morning that AMC’s next big concert film is Beyonce: Renaissance World Tour, which has been another hard-to-get-live event ticket this past year in addition to Swift. There’s been reports that Beyonce shot Renaissance World Tour in her hometown of Houston, TX back in late September for two days.

Deadline has learned exclusively that the theatrical release date for Beyonce Renaissance World Tour is looking like Dec. 1, the post Thanksgiving/Black Friday weekend frame which is typically a dead zone at the box office. AMC didn’t respond to request for comment. Interesting that AMC is looking to hit a grand slam in 2023 since the 2024 theatrical release calendar will greatly be shaken up by films pushing due to actors strike.

[From Deadline]

Yeah, Beyonce announced the Beyonce: Renaissance World Tour film this morning and she released the trailer too. I will… actually go to the theater to watch this? It looks like so much fun. It actually gave me goosebumps. It’s a great option for all the Beyhive members who couldn’t afford tickets. The only thing which made me chuckle is Beyonce’s little speech about how she wanted to create a tour where everyone would feel accepted and loved. While she did do that, she also invented the Mute Challenge, and I know some of those people screaming out in the middle of “look around, everybody on mute” got JUMPED during or after the show.

That eyesore get-up with the laces is tragic. I think we all knew a tour film was coming and it will be great. Share that magic!

I’m not a part of the Beyhive, but even I know that Beyonce has been filming her Renaissance tour since the beginning for the purpose of putting out a film. Dateline has the wrong information, and she is not capitalizing off of Taylor.

This has been the whole point of the mute challenge that’s been going on for months.

    • Concern Fae says:

My suspicion is that she was filming it for future streaming, but when she saw Taylor’s deal, she made the call to AMC to get the same one.

My curiosity is whether she’ll be as merch heavy as Taylor. I’ve got the Swifties in my timeline posting all the popcorn buckets and drinks cups that are being announced. Will we have Beyoncé popcorn buckets? I want to know.

      • TIFFANY says:

Yeah, because there is never a bid for anything Beyonce puts out. She has to make a call to compete to Swifty.

Y’all love to tell on yourselves on this website.

this looks great! glad Beyonce is doing this for her fans. especially after successes of other artists doing a theater release. and i’m glad this article gave no shade about a female artist capitalizing on her talent and success…can’t help think about the announcement article of when taylor released her concert film for theaters and the criticism in all the comments.

    • Quesadilla says:

Thank you! When Taylor did it, the comments were unhinged about her being a capitalist vulture. Even when it was pointed that other groups (BTS for example) have done the same exact thing.

Like I get not being a Taylor Swift fan but, good lord, the double standards are too much.

Sign me up!!!! I still watch her Coachella documentary on Netflix to this day.

Snuffles! Not only do I watch it, I put in on for a workout trying to copy the moves. I…cannot keep up 😀

And they absolutely SHOULD have been jumped. Because a lot of them were doing it on purpose. If Beyonce tells you to be quiet for 10 seconds – you be QUIET.

  8. Amy Bee says:

I can only hope that this gets to Netflix at some point.

  9. BB says:

I just can’t wait to see this !
