Elizabeth Debicki wore Bottega Veneta to ‘The Crown’ premiere: Diana-esque?

Here are photos from last night’s London premiere of The Crown’s Season 6. While Szn 6 is split up into two parts, my guess is that this will be the only premiere event for the final season. Dominic West and Olivia Williams skipped it, which is fine with me. It meant that there was more focus on “Diana” and the younger cast members playing Prince William, Harry and Kate. Minus Jonathan Pryce, who did turn up to the premiere! He looks absolutely nothing like Prince Philip, and it’s still crazy to me that they cast Pryce in that role!

Elizabeth Debicki wore a very Diana-esque LBD by Bottega Veneta. Is this supposed to be Debicki’s callback to Diana’s “Revenge Dress”? Perhaps. She posed solo and she also posed with the child actors who play the younger Will and Harry: Rufus Kampa and Fflyn Edwards. Edwards is a cutie.

Meanwhile, the older actors playing Will, Kate and Harry posed together too – Ed McVey plays the college-aged William, Luther Ford plays Harry in his late teens and early 20s, and Meg Bellamy plays Kate. When Ed and Meg pose together, you can kind of squint and see some vague resemblance to Will and Kate in their college years. I think Meg is prettier than Kate, honestly. Meg’s dress is Stella McCartney. Luther is SERVING in that satin blouse. Ed is really nice looking too, which carries on The Crown’s grand tradition of hiring better-looking actors to play the heirs.

I’m sorry I’m just going to say it, they did Harry so dirty 👀

The crown season 5 cast looks like parody version of the royals. I didnt watch season 5 many people complaint that season 5 is pro charles which kind of sucks. No wonder the current season doesnt have any buzz around it. They will whitewash kate and william story too.

    • Mts.Krabapple says:

That show always portrays the royal family in a better light than they deserve/really are in real life. I have no interest in it.

  3. HillaryIsAlwaysRight says:

How crazy are they going to make Diana seem this season? Not really interested in watching them portray her as shallow and emotionally unstable again.

  4. Eurydice says:

Yikes, if they wanted to portray the royals as a rogue’s gallery, they succeeded.

  5. Michele says:

I just don’t get the popularity of The Crown. The show is crap. We got better information from the National Enquirer.

It’s not meant to be informative? It’s just a fun fictionalized version of things.

I loved the first few seasons but I never made it through the last one because I hated how sympathetic they were trying to make Charles. I’m not sure I’m going to even keep Netflix long enough before the second party of this next season comes out since the price increase is crazy.

They look like they forgot how to red carpet during the strike.

Well, with the antiquated black hosiery, yes.

  8. Brassy Rebel says:

Elizabeth Debicki looks so different with long hair!

  9. Dee says:

Agree that Meg is 100X more beautiful than Kate.

Elizabeth Debicki’s dress is great. I’m not sure it needed tights, but that’s a pretty mild complaint.

    • AMTC says:

Agree re the tights but Diana wore them with her revenge dress so maybe that’s why. Her dress was shorter though so it worked better.

      • Bettyrose says:

The revenge dress was the 90s when we wore tights with denim shorts. I’m a 90s fashion girl, tho, so I don’t have an issue with tights (I no longer wear them with shorts, to be clear).

  11. Roan Inish says:

They really don’t look like tights. They look like black nylons to me.
