Grimes hired four process servers to try to serve Elon Musk with custody papers

When we last left off with the Elon Musk/Grimes drama, it was revealed that the couple shared a secret, one-year-old son named Techno Mechanicus. Things got messy when she started Tweeting at Phony Stark and Shivon Zilis, the mother of his twins (born around the same time as Grimes’ & Musk’s daughter, Y) writing, “Tell Shivon to unblock me and tell Elon to let me see my son or plz respond to my lawyer.” Eventually, Grimes finally spoke with Zilis and she and Elno sued each other to establish parental rights. In her lawsuit, Grimes alleged that Space Karen had custody of their eldest son, X, “over [her] objection.”

Things haven’t gone very smoothly for Gimes, aka Claire Boucher, though. In order to officially sue Musk, she has to serve him first so he can legally be notified of the suit against him and the clock will begin the countdown of the time that he has to respond to it. The only problem is that no one can find Mr. Baby Daddy of the Year to serve him. In fact, over the course of a week, Boucher hired four different process servers to try to track him down in over a dozen locations to no avail.

A lawyer for Grimes filed a supplemental proof-of-service document last Friday, showing they had attempted to serve Musk with custody papers on multiple occasions and had delivered the documents via substituted service, meaning the papers were given to workers at some of Musk’s businesses, as well as staff at a property associated with the billionaire, instead of Musk himself.

As of Thursday, Musk had not formally responded to the lawsuit.

Grimes hired four process servers to deliver the papers. From October 13 to October 20, they tried to track the billionaire down across at least a dozen locations, including X’s headquarters in San Francisco, SpaceX’s launch site in Boca Chica, Texas, Tesla’s Austin gigafactory, and several addresses associated with Musk near Austin.

One of the process servers even went to a horse farm that had been tied to the billionaire. “Nope, not here,” a woman on the site told them when they asked for Musk.

One process server even tracked Musk’s private jets to confirm the best place to contact the billionaire, Grimes’ court papers said.

Two process servers also attempted to serve Musk at Shivon Zilis’ house. Zilis is a director at Neuralink, one of Musk’s startups, and the mother of two of his children. But in at least one instance, the person who answered the door at Zilis’ house told the process server they didn’t know Musk, the court documents said.

The process servers were unable to deliver the court documents to Musk personally and were shooed away in several instances, including by security personnel at Tesla and X and by a police officer in Boca Chica. The servers said they left the papers with several secondary personnel, including security workers at X, Tesla, and SpaceX, according to the court documents.

[From Business Insider]

Despite Musk playing hide n seek, the multiple service attempts, including leaving the complaint with his security team at X’s headquarters, are likely to be considered sufficient under California law because “more than reasonable efforts” were made. This means that Apartheid Clyde now has until approximately the end of November to respond if he doesn’t get a continuance. It will also take some time to figure out what jurisdiction the case will be tried in, as Grimes filed in California and Musk filed in Texas. What a mess.

Anyway, this behavior is pretty crappy of Elon, but not surprising in the least. Boucher is extremely problematic, and yes, she made her own bed, but mother-to-mother, I empathize with her. But I especially feel badly for all of the children involved in this sh-t show. It’s kinda nuts that four different process servers couldn’t find the one guy who never seems to shut up and go away. Did anyone check the border? How about Zuck’s front yard? Is Karen finally in space? Eh, maybe he was just locked in his office crying over how much everyone hates him for being a right wing puppet who ruined Twitter.

“Boucher is extremely problematic, and yes, she made her own bed, but mother-to-mother, I empathize with her.”

This is about the most relatable Grimes has ever been to me. Everyone can understand a woman who earns a lot less money having massive issues over children with her douchey ex.
As to serving him papers: Elno is in charge of (destroying) Twitter. Space Karen is this guy’s nickname…it might be time to look into being able to serve someone via email or other means. This guy can easily avoid and prolong being served papers in person and that’s both ridiculous and unfair!

I find every detail of this scenario creepy AF. World’s richest man trying to populate planet with his own DNA, uses women as baby incubators, and stashes children in mystery location to be raised by – just guessing here cuz who knows? – an army of Aunt Lydia clones.

    • CatMum says:

they can serve him through his attorney. this story is about the court of public opinion.

      • Chloe says:

@CatMum, He’d have to give his attorney permission to accept service for him. I used to work in a law firm and sometimes, if someone knew a suit was being filed, they’d hire an attorney but refuse to give them permission to be served on their behalf.

As much as I dislike Grimes, I wouldn’t wish this on any mother, even if she is a parrot-regurgitator of all things Space Karen says and believes in. Elno is flaunting his white male privilege by hiding in plain sight. If Trump can go on rallies while being on trial, why can’t Elno skirt the law too? BTW, if Grimes is not seeing her son by way of him not allowing it, that’s kidnapping.

  3. Kirsten says:

So this is what Musk envisions when he wants everyone to have children? Keeping them from a parent and hiding out? What an ideal world.

  4. Osty says:

Doesn’t he have kids he doesn’t care about, so why is he hell bent on keeping this one ?

    • Chloe says:

No joke, I bet you it’s because this one is named X and isn’t old enough to know he’s full of it. Elon seems that petty.

      • Slush says:

He is petty, but that’s also strong narcissistic move. See also Kody Brown on Sister Wives. They have trouble with their older kids once the older kids see through them, so they focus on the younger kids who haven’t figured it out yet.

    • Whyforthelove says:

He’s gonna turn this one into his Mini Musk and keep him from being influenced by a mere mother figure

    • Sankay says:

Supposedly, little X was conceived naturally and for that reason he’s obsessed.

  5. blue says:

I feel sorry for Elon’s children. He’s so wacko that it’s hard to see how his kids will be able to develop even near-normal personalities, much less values. The mothers are probably pretty strange too – otherwise why get involved with Musk for anything.
I hope the one-year old pictured can be called “TR” or by some more normal moniker when/if he’s ever allowed to go to school.

    • Bettyrose says:

Justine Musk’s Marie Claire article about her marriage to this man is chilling. But we need to accept that there will always be a line of increasingly young women who are willing to risk that their relationship with him/subsequent custody dispute won’t be traumatizing.

      • bisynaptic says:

I hope this fiasco is sufficient to scare off potential future brood mares.

      • bettyrose says:

@bisyanaptic, that would be nice, but let’s face it, there’s a teen girl out there right now who fits his breeding profile, is paying no attention to any of this, and will be 25 soon enough (I’m trying to give him some credit for not being a total perv but . . .)

  6. MY3CENTS says:

Just serve him on twitter (sorry X) he lives there, and as we’ve all seen he always responds.

  7. Nanea says:

Too bad no one thought of serving Apartheid Clyde while he was in London recently, specifically at the front door of #10, with Larry the cat as witness.

Seriously though, this whole serving a person with papers *in person* thing is a bit much for me here in Germany. We get papers via registered mail, and once it’s in a house’s mail box, or delivered to a concierge or facility manager, it’s the recipient’s problem. The mail person registers where they leave something when – and the clock starts ticking, whether the recipient is present, or on a month-long vacation.

  8. Christina says:

Elon is giving Lex Luther mixed with Hilaria Baldwin.

    Those poor kids.

  9. bisynaptic says:

So, Elon has kidnapped the boy? The one she actually birthed? Why isn’t this an issue for the police?

    • Lemons says:

I believe this baby was born via surrogate…I’m not sure how much contact Grimes ever had with the surrogate or the baby. That is why this story is very weird…I wonder if she ever thinks that he was worth it…This nightmare wouldn’t be for me.

  10. Rea says:

These kids will see this when they grow up not a good look for him…
He needs to get this over with and get the paperwork, the longer he prolongs it the worser it will look for him
