So, given the kind of screwed up celebrity gossip year we’ve been having (re: deaths, splits, and sketchiness), does it really come as surprise that Charlie Sheen was arrested for domestic violence on Christmas Day? Not really. The basic story is: Charlie and his wife Brooke were in Colorado together, with their twin infant sons, to celebrate the holidays; they got into an argument that turned violent; Charlie was arrested (under his real name, Carlos Irwin Estevez) for felony domestic violence, second-degree assault, felony menacing and misdemeanor criminal mischief in Pitkin County, Colorado. Charlie Sheen spent Christmas in jail in Colorado after being arrested on felony domestic violence charges following a scuffle with his wife, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.
The Two and a Half Men actor is being held in Pitkin County Jail.
A source close to his wife Brooke Mueller told RadarOnline.com that the arrest came after he shoved Brooke as they argued bitterly.
The source told RadarOnline.com that Brooke has rented a house in Colorado for approximately three months. While she’s been there Charlie has been home in Los Angeles.
Charlie and Brooke have been having significant marital problems, the source told RadarOnline.com.
Sheen flew to be with Brooke for Christmas, despite their problems but things got out of control almost right away. He was arrested by the Aspen Police Department a little after 11 a.m. on Christmas. He was charged with felony second-degree assault, felony menacing and criminal mischief, a misdemeanor charge.
The couple began arguing and according to the source Brooke says that Charlie pushed her and she then called police. An ambulance was called but Brooke refused treatment.
Sheen was booked under his real name, Carlos Irwin Estevez. He is expected to stay behind bars until his first court appearance.
Sheen got engaged to Mueller in 2007, they married in 2008 and earlier this year Brooke gave birth to twin boys.

Hmm… they make it seem like Brooke and Charlie were living separately for the past three months, right? X17 goes as far as saying the police report confirms that they’ve been living separately for the past three months. Which would mean that Brooke left (maybe) about five months after giving birth to their twin sons, Bob and Max. This is one of those cases where I feel like I’ve read a blind item about this situation. But I digress… this is a serious matter. Domestic violence is nothing to be scoffed at, and yet… is anyone really surprised? Charlie has never been an angel, but is he a guy who beats up his wife? Maybe… I’m sure we’ll be finding out a lot more about this situation. I hate to say this, too, but my mom is going to be slightly devastated. She loves Charlie. But, in her words, “I know he’s a f-cked up man.”
UPDATE: Okay, there is more to the story, but I’m not sure if any of us really wanted to know these details. It seems that initially, Brooke claimed that Charlie choked her during the domestic incident, and that’s why he was taken in. There is also evidence that Brooke was legally drunk when she called 911 and made her initial statement… however, Charlie was also drinking (though not legally drunk). As Radar points out, Charlie and Brooke had allegedly been drinking the whole night, which is why they both had alcohol in their systems during the incident – and Charlie is a recovering alcoholic and addict with a history of drug-and-alcohol related crimes. Late Christmas day, before Charlie’s bail hearing, Brooke recanted her statement, and Radar claims Charlie’s media team is now on full alert to either discredit or pay Brooke off to keep quiet. Radar also claims that Brooke wants out of the marriage, and may have recanted as part as some kind of monetary negotiation to get more money in the eventual divorce. Yikes to all of this!

Denise was more believable than Charlie’s denials and attempts to smear her, though she is kinda’ nutty. I always thought his relationship with Brooke was an attempt to improve his image after Denise trashed him, but maybe he couldn’t keep up the good husband/father act and continued his bad-boy ways.

Sounds like she was drunk and pissed at him and probably at some point in their arguing he started marching off to see the kids and that she tried to stop him -and hence the “pushing”.
He gets past her, goes to the kids, meanwhile she flips her wig and calls the cops, drunkenly indignant, saying that he “attacked” her.

What can you say? Alcohol and estranged marriages have never mixed. No matter who’s involved. Maybe if both people get arrested in these kind of situations like some states do.Until ,they find out who was at fault. Maybe people will try to settle their differeces before they be so quick to call the police. She proably did’nt want to go to the hospital because she had been drinking. So if she wasn’t willing to follow through on domestic abuse, why was Charlie arrested. Our law system sucks. It always take the side of the woman even when they haven’t gathered all the facts. His managers and his dad’s managers can’t be too happy with this messing with their Christmas holiday. Brooke will make some money for recanting and more money in addition to the prenup for keeping her mouth shut about his activities when she divorces him. Brooke may not be an angel, but Charlie’s history is doing him in.
Charlie should consider being the perpetual playboy and forgetting about marriage. These last two marriages only temporarily improved his image and probably damaged it even more in the long run.

Don’t really care for either one of them, nor do I really believe either one of them. She wanted him, she got him; file that under “be careful what you wish for.” Pretty sure she’d heard about him, she should have known better. And getting drunk when you’re a mother, not the best idea, especially since 8 months old is a little young to be neglected while mommy gets trashed.
As for claiming abuse, I’d like her to tour a woman’s shelter or emergency room, so she could see what REAL domestic abuse is. Claiming abuse for retaliation purposes is a slap in the face to those of us who have survived domestic abuse.

From what I’m reading, she has refused to cooperate any further with the police and the D.A. is making references about filing criminal charges against “someone who falsely accuses someone else.”
Once an alcoholic you can never go back to drinking safely ever, so Charlie shouldn’t have been drinking at all. This makes me think that Charlie is back to drinking again, and his wife just got a head start on it that day. Most people that are recovering alcoholics do not marry people with alcohol issues, which it appears she has. It was Christmas and she should have been sober and enjoying her toddlers instead of getting wasted and endangering their lives, so I conclude she has a problem.

What I read was that they’ve been separated since the summer, Sheen showed up and wasn’t welcome. Knowing CS’s history with alcohol, it is likely that it takes a lot more for him to get drunk so the fact that he had that much alcohol in him, that early in the day does not speak well of his behavior. Same goes for the mother.

I see Domestic Violence daily at my job. And anyone else that sees it on a daily basis knows that 90% of the time the victim recants their statement. I can’t tell you how many times you see the same victims over and over and over just to see them recant or not show up to court. It’s actually RARE to see the victim stand up and follow through 100%, especially the first few times it happends. That is why the laws have gotten tougher and you HAVE to arrest, regardless of if the victim is cooperating. So, I belive she is either protecting him or is scared he will do furhter damage by being charged. Plus if he was arrested for felony, then the choking is more like it, a shove does not equal a felony charge. And I assume she had marks on her neck. And may I say Drunk at 11am? Yea, thats about right in these types of situation. Again I’d have to say 90% of DV’s have alcohol related somehow.

Everyone should go to TMZ and read the story there as Brooke was the one with a .13 and Charlie with a .04 and the call was placed at 8:34 on Christmas Morning. The whole incident is being thrown out as she is now coming clean and admitting that the whole thing was completely false and blown out of proportion.
Anger seems to be the real problem here not the drinking and its been going on for months and hit the surface on Christmas eve according to reports Charlie arrived uninvited no wonder Brooke was angry.
The drink thing is being blown up out of proportion, neither of them were driving, her level requires 4 drinks to get to his would take 2 (given the weight difference) it was Christmas eve, the reports are saying they were both ‘partying’all night, making it sound way worse than it probably was. 4 drinks at a once a year event sounds not unreasonable. A drug test would probably have been more useful. Charlie is the Alcoholic, he’s the one who should not have been drinking AT ALL.

Getting someone arrested on false charges is in itself a criminal act. She made a mess of things and very well may have ruined her marriage. Some people should never drink!

And it takes a good long while to become ‘mentally healthy’ after entering recovery. So,recovering addicts are likely to attract people with the same level of mental health as they have at a given time. In fact,all people have this tendency. Like attracts like.
