I only caught A Simple Favor recently and really enjoyed it. Enjoyed Blake Lively in the early seasons of Gossip Girl. She does crime well and should do more mysteries. Apparently the sequel is about a wedding in Italy, so enough of a new story and setting to be interesting.

I saw a great Tik Tok about the assaults in New York which basically the gist is lets change the narrative – something like this: We need to change the narrative – instead of saying “women” are being punched for no reason or “women” are being assaulted by men for no reason lets start saying – “MEN” are punching people for no reason, “MEN” are assaulting women for no reason .. Stop taking the MEN out of the violence they enact against women. Let keep MEN accountable for their actions.

They arrested someone and then released him – apparently he has a long history of verbally and physically abusing women. He films himself approaching and following women harassing them over what they are wearing, how they look etc…

I never watch trailers for anything anymore anyway — they give away too much and it feels like you’ve already seen the whole thing before you see it.

Zendaya and Mike look great and totally on point. Josh is dressed like he’s about to audition for a remake of Center Stage.

I’m excited for Bridgerton season 3. The leads have great chemistry together. Justice for Penelope!

I think if there is a “last one standing” theme going through this series that Penelope will have an interesting and ultimately powerful stake in it.

You think they’re taking too long with Bridgerton S3? What about The Old Guard 2?? I’m so scared that they’re going to do a Sazlav and write it off for a tax return or whatever. That movie has been finished for over a year. Why is it in the vault???? I need my monthly doses of Charlize and Chiwetel 😭😭😭

Watched Anyone But You with the husband and we both enjoyed it. But I did at one point have to pause the movie to talk to said husband. He mentioned a couple times that Sydney was wearing a lot of low cut stuff so I paused and said it’s only noticeable because she has larger breasts and we are accustomed to seeing women who aren’t as large on screen. I pointed out that other actresses on the screen were also wearing equally low cut stuff but we didn’t even notice because they’ve been sold to us as “the norm.” It was interesting to watch him realize in real time what his upbringing etc. did to shape his worldview. I am not small chested either and I definitely get more “attention” if I wear something low cut which I don’t love. We have all been taught that women should be so small as to be invisible and when women like Sydney refuse to shrink it makes us uncomfortable.
