Cardi B wore an epic, black-fabric-swirl Windowsen gown to the 2024 Met Gala

Over the past five years or so, Cardi B has really become one of the top Fashion Girls to watch at any event. Cardi consistently impresses me with her fashion knowledge and her willingness to wear offbeat or emerging designers. Like, Cardi isn’t showing up to a red carpet in some basic sparkly gown. She goes all-out for the Met Gala too, as you can see. Cardi wanted to have the biggest and baddest gown for this year’s Met Gala and she got this one from Windowsen, created by Chinese designer Sensen Lii. It was an epic swirl of fabric and drama. It was too much, but also perfect for Cardi. The emerald-and-diamond jewelry is fantastic!! Too few women really play around with the jewelry they have access to.

I’m also including her more conventional after-party look, a red corseted dress. She hosted one of the gala after-parties.

Lizzo also wore Windowsen. I’m honestly surprised that Lizzo came out for the gala, given that she’s still being sued and she pretended to quit the industry (only to take it back). This… was not the look. At all. It looks like she’s wearing a cone of shame.

Lizzo dress was terrible! She could not even walk in that thing. Is def a no for me… not a good look at all.

Truly mesmerizing. Hope she had fun that night. Dress is fab but I wish it wasn’t black.

i agree about the color. I feel like we could see the details better if it wasn’t black, but I bet it was super dramatic in person

And those emerald colored nails- perfect.

I mean…if you read the accompanying story, I get Lizzo’s look (glass flowers that are shattered to hold back time and inevitable destruction)…doesn’t mean I have to like it (I don’t).

Edgar Allan Poe inspired gown wore by Cardi is just fabulous.

Cardi always brings the drama and I am here for it!

Lizzo’s fabric is perfect for her skin tone. Here’s to taking chances with design!

  6. Bad Janet says:

Lizzos dress just looks …. Weird. How can something with corset bones also be bunching up? Did she yell at her stylist and this was revenge?

  7. Cardi was the raven in the garden.

  8. Cheshire Sass says:

Cardi’s dress was a magnificent piece of art! Stole the show as far as I’m concerned. I just want to know how many people it took to hold that up so she could walk!

  9. Renee' says:

Cardi B nailed it! This look was perfection for the theme.

I feel like this Met Gala was a dud. Other than Cardi, Serena, Nicole, JLO….the others felt like a B-list of who’s who.

Cardi B looked incredible. She needed a whole crew of guys to help her up the stairs, but it was worth it.

My God! Cardi! That look was the best of the night.
