Gigi Hadid wore an epic Thom Browne gown with 3D roses to the Met Gala

Here are all of the Thom Browne ladies at the 2024 Met Gala. Gigi Hadid was supposed to be the biggest name in Thom Browne, but people saw her walking out of the hotel in her incomplete look and they said “is that IT?” It just looks like the most basic dress ever. But once she was on the carpet, that’s when the full skirt was added – an intricate layered ballgown with 3D yellow roses. This was handmade at Browne’s studio, taking over 70 people to complete with over 13,500 man hours. Which is insane. But a work of art and one which will live forever in Browne’s archives.

Still I would argue that Rebecca Ferguson got the best Thom Browne, because she’s so delightfully weird and she can make anything work. I love her and I love this.

Cynthia Erivo got the worst Thom Browne, right?

Queen Latifah (with girlfriend Eboni Nichols) – I love this Thom Browne look. She looks regal.

If you zoom in on Gigis dress, it’s like a tuxedo jacket sorta falling off into a rose/dress.
Or am I going crazy? It’s all I can see, there are sleeves and everything hanging down…

  2. Mia4s says:

Rebecca Ferguson’s dress would just not work on so many people. On her though? 10/10. Wow.

    Oh Cynthia, my condolences. 😬

    Agree on Queen Latifah. Fabulous!

    • Josephine says:

Agree, I feel like only Rebecca pulls that off and she does it fabulously.

And I was so thrilled to see Queen Latifah there and looking amazing. I love her dress, would have liked to see it without the cape. The Queen!!

  3. Ginny says:

My first thought when I saw Rebecca Ferguson: “If Moira Rose went to the Met Gala!”

    (I loved it, of course 😀 )

  4. Alex Can says:

Gigi looks stunning, might be my favourite of the night. Or maybe Dan Levy. Thematically I love Rebecca’s gown but it doesn’t quite work for me.

    • Honey says:

Gigi is my fave of the night, also!.

      • FHMom says:

Love Gigi’s entire look, especially the hair

      • Ann says:

Mine too! When I first saw it I thought the yellow roses were lemons. I thought it was so cute and fun to do lemons instead of flowers for a garden theme but the yellow roses are beautiful too. And I love her styling too! AND I even like the dress without the skirt. Gorgeous from head to toe.

      • Traveller says:

        I agree……….my favorite as well.

Gigi’s gown is stunning! So far my favorite!

  5. K says:

These are some of my fave looks Thom really made this work. Gigi really needs to chill out with the filler.

  6. Winnie Cooper’s Mom says:

I watched the E! Red Carpet show and they said Gigi’s dress consisted of 2,800,000 micro beads. Which is why it took all those crazy man hours. Truly mind-blowing.

  7. QuiteContrary says:

Gigi’s dress is stunning … and I imagine it will still be considered beautiful 50 years from now. I also swooned over Queen Latifah’s look.

  8. Flamingo says:

I hate to admit this, but Gigi Hadid had my favorite look of the night. And I loved her makeup too. It reminded me of a bit of Pat McGrath’s porcelain doll look from the Maison Margiela’s Couture Show in January.

  9. Shawna says:

    The Queen queens again! Lovely.

  10. Silver Birch says:

I love Queen Latifah, but I thought this look was too heavy. It was a winter look, not a spring, Met Gala, Garden of Time look.

  11. Abby says:

Gigi’s dress was incredible. People were posting her video without the bottom of the dress and it’s totally boring without it.

    • Lens says:

The bottom of GiGi’s dress is truly a work of Art and you don’t want anyone stepping on it or it touching the ground beforehand. Of course all I could think about last night was how uncomfortable everyone looked going up those stairs and how ripped everyone’s trains would get by the end of the night.
