Alec & Hilaria Baldwin think their lives are ‘perfect’ for the TLC reality show

We haven’t done any follow-up stories on Alec Baldwin and Hilaria Baldwin’s decision to do a TLC reality show with their kids. That announcement came a few weeks ago and I’m still sort of absorbing the news and trying not to get too worried about how crazy it will be. Three and a half years ago, Hilaria was outed as a liar who invented an entirely fake “Spanish” persona. She’s Hillary Thomas from Boston, not Hilaria from Spain. That was a huge story and it’s never really went away, although Hilaria and Alec managed to change the subject over the years. Will the reality show bring back that conversation? It should, because Hilaria is genuinely BONKERS. She’s exactly the kind of person who invented a Spanish persona and welcomed seven children in nine years. You would think that Hilaria would not want anyone looking too closely at any of that. Instead, Hilaria is flattered that everyone will hate-watch her craziness.

Alec Baldwin and his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, didn’t decide to star in a reality show on a whim — and they’re ready to become open books for viewers.

“Hilaria has been asked for years if she’d consider a reality show, which gave them this idea,” a source exclusively reveals in the latest issue of Us Weekly. “They always remark that their living situation is perfect for reality because they have so many kids with big personalities.”

Although Hilaria, 40, gives her social media followers an inside look at her home life regularly, the couple want to highlight a different side of their relationship with their show.

“This is their chance to show the world what their life is like on a day-to-day basis,” a second insider tells Us, noting that the TLC series will focus on “all the chaos with the kids, the animals and their careers.”

Additionally, viewers will see Alec, 66, and Hilaria, who share seven children, “making time for each other,” the source adds.

“Because they have so many kids with big personalities.” That makes my skin crawl, the idea that they’ll put the kids front-and-center on the show. I don’t believe it though – Hilaria will get jealous of her kids if they get too much attention. I absolutely believe that this will be Hilaria-as-the-star, with Alec and the kids taking supporting roles in the telenovela de Hilaria. And that’s probably worse than focusing on the kids. I fully expect another exposé of Hilaria’s fake persona and all of her lies. We’re due for one – some people were not paying attention back in December 2020.

They look like a completely insufferable lot. Hate to think badly of kids, but with the pompous arrogance of dad and delusional self-grandeur of mom … it looks like a train wreck to me. But certainly could be fun to hatewatch.

    • Megan says:

Will they do a spin-off featuring Alec’s trial for involuntary manslaughter?

      • Flamingo says:

yes, it will be on that fun hilarious network called Court TV. Coming next month!

    • HillaryIsAlwaysRight says:

I have to admit, I will hate watch just for the Spanish person cosplay.

    • goofpuff says:

Its all those series again. Tori Spelling, Kate Plus 8, Duggars…same old same old kid exploitation.

      • Sarah says:

I think it’s unethical to do these kind of shows focused on kids. Have we learned nothing?

      • Flamingo says:

Toddlers are the sweet spot for TLC , since toddlers are adorable. Once they hit 7- 8 they get discarded.

Hillary is just trying to beat the clock until they age out.

  2. Mimi says:

I need this to be a total and absolute flop. Please and thank you. They need to go away and never come back. Also, I can see what’s in it for her; she’s been wanting to be famous for eons. And he just wants to poison the jury pool–celebrities rarely get convicted of crimes because people see them on their televisions and they feel like friends.

    • Ang says:

You can’t tell me she hasn’t been trying to land a reality show for YEARS! There’s no way people were asking her and she was turning it down. Someone finally said “ok fine!” And now they have it.

  3. CL says:

    Gross. No, thank you!

  4. I'm not eating zoodles says:

Admittedly, I am excited for the show to start airing, only because I hope it will revive the whole conversation around Hilaria’s background and give her accent more air time. What can I say, I love mess!

I do feel bad for the kids though. The whole trend of parents turning their children into entertainment for the masses in the home environment gives me the creeps. Home should be where children get to relax and retreat from the world, not the workplace.

  5. KN says:

She seems genuinely unhinged, and he is fully on board with whatever bullshit she’s peddling. I remember the days when Alec absolutely hated attention on his private life and he was fiercely protective of his young family back when he was with Kim Basinger.

    • Brassy Rebel says:

He assaulted a photographer! Now he’s putting his kids on tv.

    • Chaine says:

I think he beat a paparazzo who tried to take a photo of baby Ireland. Now he is going to be full tilt monitizing seven little ones on a weekly basis on video for an international audience. I can’t help but view this use of the children as some scheme to make money while shielding it from the wrongful death and injury lawsuit creditors. Maybe the profits are going into some type of trust.

  6. Lindsay says:

Their misery just oozes from them.
I can here Kim and Ireland cackling at the optics.

  7. GuestWho says:

Isn’t he about to go on trial for involuntary manslaughter? Is that going to be part of it?

  8. kelleybelle says:

I don’t watch reality TV but if I did watch this, it would only be out of morbid curiosity to see how often she slipped in and out of her put-on Spanish accent.

  9. BlueNailsBetty says:

I love this for Alec. He’s gone from a well respected top tier actor to marrying a fake ass grifter to being accused of murder to starring on a (gasp!) reality tv show on cable.

I hope the shows tagline is…

    A-B-C…Always Be Cheesy.

    • LeonsMomma says:

He is such a great actor on screen (TV — he was on “Knot’s Landing”!; movies) and in theater. Was actually a nice-ish guy back in the day (met him), though evolved into a shit person (i.e. his daughter Ireland, multiple issues with people on the street, other actors, etc.)

25 or so years ago I would have never imagined him having to do a reality TV show (though not like it is today, but you get what I mean.) This is a downgrade of epic proportions. (I know he needs the money.)

  10. KBeth says:

They both are insufferable. Kids are cute though.

  11. Cheshire Sass says:

Not regrettably, I will pass over watching Ms Hilarious do her half naked yoga while spouting her life well lived mantra in rehearsed Spanglish and Mr. Rage, well raging. I’m not a fan of any “reality” TV and let’s face it, this mess will be more scripted than the K’s – that I’ve not watched but have no choice but to see a million ads promoting.

  12. Trillion says:

I shan’t be watching but I do look forward to all the Celebitches’ commentaries when it airs!

  13. JFerber says:

Now they’ll be exploiting the 7 kids for this reality show made in hell. I don’t even want to see a commercial for it, it’s so sickening to me.
