Princess Anne is ‘recovering slowly’ & she’ll be out of the hospital ‘when she’s ready’

Princess Anne has now spent three nights in the hospital and it does not appear as if she will be discharged today. Her husband Tim Laurence visited her again in the hospital and he spoke to reporters and photographers outside, telling them that she’s “recovering slowly.” He spent over two hours with her today. When Anne’s horse-related incident was announced on Monday, Buckingham Palace was doing the most to minimize everything about it. Which should have been our first clue that it was pretty serious. It sounds like Anne, a 72-year-old woman, was kicked in the head by a horse and the force of the kick gave her a serious concussion. She’s probably had exterior wounds as well, and I’d be willing to bet that she lost consciousness. In any case, they’re all saying that Anne can’t even remember what happened, that’s how concussed she is. Anyway, Tim’s presence at the hospital really does indicate that this is pretty serious:

Princess Anne is “recovering slowly”, her husband has said as he left hospital after visiting her. Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, 69, also said the Princess Royal would leave “when she’s ready”. He made his comments after spending two-and-a-half hours with his wife at Southmead Hospital in Bristol on Wednesday.

The 73-year-old has spent three nights in hospital after suffering minor head injuries and concussion when it was believed she was struck by a horse while walking on her Gatcombe Park estate in Gloucestershire on Sunday evening.

Sir Tim drove to the main entrance of the hospital’s Brunel building in a Range Rover. Stepping from his car, he carried a small navy blue bag. The previous day he revealed he had taken her “just a few little treats from home”.

Responding to questions as he left the hospital on Wednesday, Sir Tim said: “She’s recovering slowly.” He added: “She’ll be out when she’s ready.”

[From Sky News]

“She’ll be out when she’s ready” is wild. That means the doctors are not comfortable giving her a timeline for release. That means Buckingham Palace was probably talking out of its ass when they insisted that Anne would be released by the end of the week. Maybe she will, but it doesn’t sound like it. That concussion must have been BAD. And she’s 72 years old, of course it’s a slow recovery!

Asking the same question I asked on the other thread: how did she get kicked in the head while “out walking“? Did a random horse just run up and kick her in the head and leave?

I feel like if she’d been walking her horse preparatory to riding it, they would’ve said she was out riding.

Could be that one of the horses spooked and knocked her over and she hit her head or got kicked or stepped on.

    • Advisor2U says:

      Exactly.
And if she can’t remember WHAT has happened, how come the palace is saying WHAT and HOW it happened (a horse kicked her in the head).

And they’re also saying that nobody was around WHEN it happened. So who decided to fill in the ‘blank spots’ of the incident with the “a horse attacked her’ storyline, whilst it could have been an attack/encounter with a human?

Something is not adding up in this story.
Either way, get well soon Anne, and watch your back.

They haven’t said she was kicked in the head. They said it was a horse and she was out walking. It could well have been a horse she was stroking whipped its head around and connected with her head. I’ve had that happen to me when younger and it took me off my feet. I was seeing stars for a long time.

She might have been head butted by a horse.

  2. And water is wet. Of course she will be out of the hospital when doctors think she is ready.

    They’re dropping like flies.

The BRF really needs to hire a medical consultant for their PR. They keep making medically inaccurate statements that just foment rumors and discussion. BP should have never given a timeline for her hospital release in the first place—she’s 72 and in hospital for a head injury! No doctor is going to say when she’ll be released until it’s pretty imminent. With so many senior royals over 70, and several younger ones (Kate, Fergie) dealing with cancer, it’s not like they won’t have to do even more of these medically-related press releases in the future.

    • Miranda says:

This is a good point. Their updates on the health of the various ailing royals have been confusing and sometimes even contradictory (for example, “cancer HAD been present” in Kate and she’s having “preventative chemo”, but now almost every reference assumes that she is presently battling cancer and being treated. Which is it?!).

At her age, it’d be just common that she went through a minor stroke while walking or riding, being the concussion a result from hitting her head after falling. If she was promenading alone and remained unattended for some time, it could have aggravated her condition and be a plausible explanation for contradictory versions.
Princess Margaret suffered quite a few strokes, in her case it was historically linked to her lifestyle but it might well run in the family.

She got kicked by a horse at 73 years old. I think, she is lucky to be alive.

    • Emme says:

They’ve never said kicked, but horse related. See my comment above about the possibility of it being a horse she was stroking whipping its head around and crashing into Anne’s head. When it happens, and I can confirm this, it’s like being hit by a sledge hammer!

Well it’s more details than we’ve ever gotten about Kant .. especially since I am not sure at all as if we have the truth about anything that is going on in that part of the RF.

    Anyway..
Glad. Anne and her husband are seeing each other and she’s being looked after so well.

Why does it feel like they are removing senior royals right and left to clear the way for Willy’s solo reign? Charles will likely die from cancer soonish, Anne may be sidelined now with this head injury, Andrew will be in hiding due to Epstein, and Eddy is sick and his wife is Willy’s mistress. The men in grey are preparing to rule via puppet Willy. H & M need to stay clear of that family.

Head injury with loss of consciousness here at same age with small brain bleed. Neuro checks day and night every one hour then every two hours.till stable. CT scan on admission , the following day and 3 days later. ICU then Neuro floor total 10 days. Physical therapy to regain gait stability. Estimated time of recovery 6 months to a year.

Oh great another medical situation for the RF to make every wrong decision when it comes to telling the truth.

  11. CherryBerry says:

“She’ll be out when she’s ready” why do they make it sound like they’re scolding the public?

  12. Andrea says:

It’s pretty common to not remember exactly what happened when you’re knocked unconscious even if your concussion is minor. But this is clearly not minor.
