Lily Allen makes more money selling foot photos than she does on Spotify

Lily Allen’s last album came out in June 2018. Since then, she’s been busy with her podcast, “Miss Me?” which she hosts with longtime friend Miquita Oliver. In July, Lily announced that she was starting an OnlyFans page that only shows pictures of her feet. She’s shared some pictures publicly in order to entice more subscribers to her page, and they’re just pictures of her feet. Last week, Lily posted a collage of feet pictures to her Twitter page, telling people that they could check out her “archives.” Twitter being Twitter, someone made a sh-tty comment about how Lily went from being a big pop star to being “reduced” to having an OnlyFans page. So, Lily being Lily, she responded by setting the (financial) record straight. Apparently, she makes more money selling her foot pics than she does from Spotify residuals.

Lily Allen says her OnlyFans career is more lucrative than her singing career these days. The star, 39, took to X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, Oct. 25, to reveal she is making more money from selling pictures of her feet on the popular paid content creator platform than royalties from having about 7,463,186 monthly listeners on Spotify.

In response to an initial post about her OnlyFans, one user on X replied, “Imagine being one of the biggest pop stars/musicians in Europe and then being reduced to this,” which led Allen to clap back with the shocking financial reveal in a post of her own.

“Imagine being and artist and having nearly 8 million monthly listeners on Spotify but earning more money from having 1000 people subscribe to pictures of your feet. Don’t hate the player, hate the game,” she retorted.

According to the streaming data site Kworb, Allen’s music receives about 851,623 streams per day on Spotify, a.k.a. around 25,548,690 streams per month. A royalty calculator powered by Billboard estimates the “F— You” performer’s music generates about $122,321 per month. However, that money is then split among songwriters, producers, record labels and other collaborators in addition to Allen herself.

Her OnlyFans page, on the other hand, costs $10 per month. With around 1,000 subscribers, as she stated, the account likely generates about $100,000 per month — all of which goes directly to Allen.

Allen has been extremely open with her exploration of OnlyFans as a revenue source, while also touching on the power dynamic the platform provides and how it makes her feel. Her page launch came a few weeks after she discussed potentially selling feet content during an episode of her BBC podcast Miss Me? with co-host Miquita Oliver.

“I have a lady that comes and does my nails,” the “Smile” singer shared at the time. “They informed me that I have five stars on WikiFeet, which is quite rare. My feet are rated quite highly on the internet. She said that I could make a lot of money from selling foot content on OnlyFans. And I’m like, ‘Not no.'”

During a later, July 4 episode of the Miss Me? podcast, Allen touched on her husband David Harbour’s reaction to her selling pictures of her feet online.

“Yeah, he is, he thinks it’s great,” Allen said after Oliver asked whether Harbour is “alright” with the decision. “At first, he was like, not turned on, but he was like, ‘Is this a kink for you?’ And I was like, ‘No, it’s totally not a kink,’ but maybe there’s something in the power element of it that’s slightly kinky for me.”

During that same podcast episode, Allen doubled down that her page features just one thing: pictures of her feet. “I’ve got very strict guidelines. And believe me, these guys are all up in my DMs telling me they want bespoke content and asking me for all kinds of crazy stuff and I take such pleasure in just saying: only feet, only feet.”

If there’s one thing that Lily is going to do, it’s say something with her whole chest. But seriously, that’s a lot of money for taking pictures of your newly pedicured feet. $10,000 for a $40 investment per week? If I could make $10K+ per month just from posting pictures of my feet, I mean…it kinda feels like one way of working smarter, not harder, ya know?

The low payout from Spotify thing checks out. They famously do not pay artists a lot per stream. Remember when Taylor Swift pulled her music for several years out of protest? Lily explained in another post just how little she makes from Spotify after all parties involved in producing the song get their percentage. The average payout on Spotify is $0.004, which is then broken down among all involved. There’s a bigger conversation to be had here about how much artists should be paid through streaming services, and I’m not just talking about the bigger ones who also have other avenues for revenue. There are a lot of much smaller artists who are on there, just hoping that people will discover their music, and they’re really getting screwed over.

So I have bunions- does that automatically disqualify me? Is there any market for well manicured feet with bunions? My feet don’t look a day over 29…

Its amazing the ways in which ppl can make money off OF. My husband’s brother is a former (low level) british male model who is, umm very well-endowed and he literally makes £21,000 PER MONTH off Only Fans, and that number is growing. All he does is show off. Thats it

I take it with a grain of salt that people have trouble keeping up with their day to day expenses. If people can’t make the rent because they are buying stuff like this that’s on them.

    Good for her!

  8. ABCD says:

Wouldn’t 1000 subscribers generate only 10000$ per month rather then 100000$? Or am I missing something?

Thank you! That math was not mathing for me either.

    • Myriam says:

It depends on how much she’s charging her OnlyFans. I’ve never ventured into the website, so I don’t know if there are fixed rates and all, but I’d think it was based on how much her subscribers are paying.

They might be using a multiplier. The subscription is only the base price, they also charge to DM, or to get a specific photo, or to get a custom photo. Most OF creators make most of their money there.
