Man who crashed his car through Jennifer Aniston’s gate charged with felony stalking

Jennifer Aniston has had some pretty insane fan encounters over the years. She was such a constant tabloid fixture that this seems sadly inevitable. Some of these encounters have been downright scary, though. In 2005, a man climbed over a nine-foot fence and broke into a Malibu home she was renting. Fortunately, she was filming in Chicago at the time. In 2010, Aniston was granted a restraining order after another man drove across the country, claiming that she telepathically summoned him. He even had a list of their future baby names.

On Monday, a 48-year-old man crashed his car through the front gate of Jennifer Aniston’s estate. She was at home at the time. Thankfully, she wasn’t hurt and her security apprehended him immediately.

A man who was arrested after allegedly crashing his car into the front gate of Jennifer Aniston’s Los Angeles home called himself the “perfect husband.” Jimmy Wayne Carwyle, 48, was booked on suspicion of felony vandalism May 5, according to arrest records viewed by E! News.

Aniston was home at the time of the incident, but was not hurt, two law enforcement sources told NBC News.

Prior to his arrest, a public Facebook page with Carwyle’s name shared multiple messages about the Friends alum, calling her his “bride” and “true soulmate.”

“Set you straight about Me & Jen,” a December 2024 post read, “ReMinding you The Perfect Husband had to have A Perfect Wife Named Jennifer Joanna Aniston.”

Another post in March read, “They Amaze me, packing so much love, in such a small package, Known as Jennifer Joanna Aniston Carwyle.”

E! News has reached out to Aniston for comment about the crash and Carwyle’s arrest but has not heard back..

[From E! News Online]

According to TMZ, Jen’s team was immediately on top of the situation, holding the suspect at gunpoint until the cops could get there. I know that her house is set back and she likely didn’t know about the crash until her team briefed her, but I cannot imagine the fear and confusion that went through Jen’s mind as she found out what was going on. Initial reports suggested that this man was in his 70s and the crash was an accident, but his age was quickly corrected and LAPD confirmed that he was under investigation for stalking because of the “bizarre” social media posts mentioned in the E! News story above. Thank goodness she was safe and no one was harmed. And good for her security team for acting so fast because something like that could have escalated quickly.

Note by CB: After Rosie wrote this story, the news came out that Carwyle has been charged with felony stalking and felony vandalism. Los Angeles County DA Nathan J. Hochman cited Carwyle’s harassment of Aniston through email, voicemail and social media and said in a statement that “Stalking is a crime that can quickly escalate from harassment to dangerous, violent actions, threatening the safety of victims and our communities. My office is committed to aggressively prosecuting those who stalk and terrorize others, ensuring they are held accountable.”

No one deserves that, and I’m glad she’s safe. That must be the absolute worst part of being famous.

Same and yes. I was just listening to an interview with Paul Rudd and he talked about little bit how crazy it is to be famous. It must be hard to let your guard down, anywhere or with most people.

At the very least, thank God, she has the money for 24/7 security to deal with this. There are young actresses with little wealth and they also deal with this kind of stalking from people with mental health issues. Being a woman is dangerous, being a famous woman makes it much much worse.
