Last week, actor Derek Dixon sued Tyler Perry for sexual assault and harassment. The lawsuit was reported everywhere, from TMZ to People to NBC to the Associated Press. There are texts, allegedly between the two men, circulating online as well. While the lawsuit was reported on widely, as well as Tyler’s denial of any wrongdoing, there’s been little follow-up. The silence in recent days is a reflection of the power Tyler wields within the industry, and it’s also a reflection of Tyler’s friendships with many powerful figures. Speaking of, Tyler was seen late last week in Paris at one of Beyonce’s Cowboy Carter concerts. He was in the VIP area with Beyonce’s mother, Tina Knowles. A visual signal that Tyler is under the protection of the Beygency.
The Daily Mail was one of the few outlets to break ranks and attempt to provide some kind of scandalous coverage of Perry, and of course they went through the Duke and Duchess of Sussex: “Deafening silence from Harry and Meghan as Lilibet’s billionaire godfather is sued by actor for sexual harassment.” I skimmed the piece and it’s not worth excerpting at all, it’s just “Harry and Meghan haven’t said anything about Tyler, who is their daughter’s godfather.” Which is true. Oprah hasn’t said anything either. Neither has Beyonce or anyone else close to Tyler. The British media should be really careful here, because the Windsors have so many associations, godparents and relatives who have been credibly accused of sexual assaults, rape and more. King Charles’s associations with Jimmy Savile, anyone? Prince Andrew? Lord Mountbatten? Be for real.

There’s something wrong with the British press. Good that they haven’t commented! Has M or H been on a set with Tyler Perry? No. Then they can’t speak to the situation and they have the empathy to know better than a blind defense of someone who you’ve never seen in the station to comment on it.
But I guess this is one more failing of the couple. God forbid staying silent when you don’t know the truth versus blind allegiance and obedience in the guise of being “loyal”
Just want to flag up that Laurens van der Post was William’s godfather. And Guy Pelly is Louis’, despite two previous drink driving convictions.
There’s nothing to say. But of course, the British tabs gotta bring everything to the Sussexes’ front door when the Windsors’ balcony is littered with sexual predators and miscreants. Ugh.
Have Harry and Meghan ever commented on any legal action or ongoing court cases? They don’t even give public statements to journalists on their own court cases until after the verdict.
I don’t know what the DM expects them to say. I assume they don’t know anymore about these allegations than any one else. And maybe less than most who spend a lot of time socializing with Perry.
I’m sure that Tyler’s power is a part of it, but it might also be that people don’t know what to say. Most times, these accusations come with “it was an open secret,” but has that been the case with Tyler? I don’t know because I’ve never followed him specifically.
The derangers keep talking about this but in reference to Harry and Meghan.
I do not want to speculate about this kind of allegations especially if it is a legal case in court. I do not have all the information. It is very hard to predict which direction this will go in a jury court, who the jury at the end will believe. It even still could be settled outside court.
I prefer to hold my judgement till I have more information, especially when the case is weaponised against someone, in this case against Harry and Meghan.
I will always be grateful to Tyler for coming to Meghan, Harry and Archie’s rescue when they had been hung out to dry by the Royal Family, left with NO SECURITY and at the mercy of the Rota Rats and British tabloid scum, as well as any potential assassins. It is a rare individual who says, “If you need help, call me, and I will be there for you.” He then followed through.

I’m sorry, a thousand years of nefarious deeds by the monarchy, and we are supposed to bury the black man who saved Harry and Meghan because the Daily Mail wants to get right on it ASAP?
These people have lied about Meghan and Harry, and those surrounding them so much and for long , they are going to need ironclad proof this time, not “unnamed sources”.
The British media would love to bring down the only reason Harry and Meghan successfully escaped in the first place. I refuse to jump to a conclusion other than the British media and royals have had a hard on for Tyler Perry since 2019.
Commenting from the UK, I don’t think Tyler Perry is actually that famous here, so he’s not someone that British people, especially those who read stuff like the Mail, know very much about or have much of an opinion on, unlike say Russell Brand or Johnny Depp who everyone is very familiar with and whose accusations were big news stories here. If the general public know anything about him, it’s that he’s Lili’s godfather, and even most people probably don’t follow Harry and Meghan to that level of granular detail. So if other famous US people who do know him aren’t talking, there’s no one over here who’s going to have anything to say that’s worth printing or reading.
Plus, yes, massive can of worms to open if royal reporters start having opinions about this, because we know much more about the royal family’s links with scumbags like Jimmy Saville, and he’s actually in the public consciousness again this week because of the film 28 Years Later.
I agree with other posters. I don’t know anything about his personal life, but he has done a lot of wonderful things for other people, including Prince Harry and Princess Meghan.
A lot of predators do “wonderful thing” that’s still not an excuse for sexual assault.
I imagine that his closer powerful friends (or their agents) talked to him (or his agents) and asked what kind of public response he wanted from them.
