Mail: Duchess Meghan is a ‘fraud’ who is only pretending to enjoy making jam!

Prince William and Kate haven’t been seen since two weekends ago, at Wimbledon. Their summer vacation almost always starts right after the Wimbledon singles finals, and I doubt we’ll see them more than once for the next two months. The one time we see them will be during a pre-arranged “pap-stroll” at Balmoral – William and Kate usually agree to one photograph for their days-long visit to Scotland every summer. But yeah, beyond that, we probably won’t see them until mid-September, if that. Which means that for the next two months, there’s going to be yet another unhinged campaign against the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Meghan especially, since she’s been more visible this year and her As Ever launch has been a resounding success by any metric. So many people are jealous of her success, and as always, there’s a whole-ass billion-dollar industry based on defaming Meghan. The Daily Mail does the most to amplify it too. Take this piece, which is being featured prominently on the Mail’s site despite the lack of cogency.

Meghan Markle is a ‘fraud’ and As Ever is all about ‘milking’ her fame from marrying Prince Harry to ‘sucker people into buying her stuff’, two of North America’s leading brand experts have claimed. Canadian lawyer Phillip Millar and California marketing executive Camille Moore, stars of popular The Art of the Brand podcast, believe the launch and concept of her lifestyle business has been one of the worst they have ever seen.

‘I love sh***ing on people who suck. Meghan Markle sucks as far as I’m concerned’, Mr Millar has said. ‘It [As Ever] is run by a confederacy of dunces working on this platform that is just getting maximising the value from her fame that came from Suits and being a part of the Royal Family and they’re just milking that for everything they can’.

Millar and Moore, who have advised big businesses including Mercedes-Benz, L’Oreal, Olaplex, Dior, Van Cleef and Air Canada, say Meghan’s business has been a ‘royal disaster’. Mr Millar believes that As Ever lacks authenticity because he claims that Meghan is ‘pretending’ to be a domestic goddess and most people don’t believe it. But he added that the people who have rushed to buy her wine, jam, crepe mix and tea shows ‘how gullible a lot of consumers are’.

He said: ‘She’s not substantial. I’m agitated by her so much because it is a deliberate misrepresentation of what she is because she thinks she can pretend to be that while actually being this and sucker people into buying her stuff and every step of the way she’s failing because it’s not legitimate. It’s not intelligent. It’s not well executed. There was nothing about her brand that was good from the start to a distinguishing eye. She was a fraud what I can see from the beginning who was just using opportunities to advance herself. Her brand wasn’t one built on substance. It was based on using people. They’re not executing anything well on any show on anything. But it shows how gullible a lot of consumers are’.

[From The Daily Mail]

So… this douchebag is mad that Meghan is “pretending” to be a domestic goddess and consumers are buying it and the customer is always wrong in this case, but Meghan isn’t just pretending to be interested in cooking and jam-making and wine, she’s also milking her royal connections, for money! His argument makes zero sense. It also strikes me that there’s still such significant backlash from these people who are trying and failing to define Meghan. They’re furious that people are largely ignoring their ridiculous hate campaign, and that people still like Meg and want to support her in any way, like buying her wine, honey and jam.

The dm never stops maybe this, article was to try to distract from the keens taking another lavish vacation and being caught out.

  2. aquarius64 says:

Thier hit pieces don’t hit as hard any more. The BM and Rota are seen as jokes.

    • Me at home says:

Yep. I’m really trying not to give the Fail clicks. But I went to see the reaction to this article, and there seem to be many fewer hate posts compared to even last year when you could count on a couple thousand almost immediately. And more people are saying, hey, the Sussexes are earning their own way unlike the BRF.

  3. Blogger says:

    “ She’s not substantial”

Ok Mr. someone I’ve never heard of.

So I take it the Fail refuses to cover the Greek holiday. 😏

    • jais says:

What does that even mean? She’s not substantial? Is she made of air? How does one measure substance? I’m sorry but he was such a hater it was hard to even take him seriously.

      • Blogger says:

Like all things, must be projection. He’s not substantial therefore someone who survived and is surviving the media glare quite successfully now, is not.

I can definitely tell he won’t become a billionaire with that mindset! 😂

      • Alarmjaguar says:

I am reading a healthy dosage of misogyny in here as well! Good Lord, man, you are thinking way too much about this woman, and trying to belittle her

      • Becks1 says:

I have no idea what most of his rant means lol. Maximizing the value from her fame? i mean……yes…..isn’t that what every celebrity does?

honestly I wonder if he reached out to work with her and was rebuffed. There is so much hate and anger here.

    • sunnyside up says:

I googled the Greek holiday and found nothing from the tabs.

      • Blogger says:

        Not yet 😏

I wonder who’ll be the first one to break the omerta? GB News?

Photos of a massive yacht and the Greek islands look very pretty. It will generate a lot of clicks! I promise rats!

      • Becks1 says:

before we talked yesterday about the Greek yacht trip, I was noticing an uptick on my socials about Meghan being a yacht girl and it seemed weird to me, but now it makes sense. KP’s bots have been busy bees trying to take control of this narrative which tells me they knew the news was coming out and they are trying very hard to deflect from it.

    • Fandango says:

It’s sadly not hard. It’s all fake. Who actually believes these hilarious stories? It’s like the people that think Harry is stupid and wants to run back to pa because he’s pathetic and dumb and needs the help of all the online people who think they know more than him! Hilarious.

  4. Dee(2) says:

Who exactly is she, if she’s pretending to be someone else other than someone that’s greatly interested in cooking, wine, and hosting things that she all was demonstrably and documented as being pre Harry? How is it that this random knows who she is better than her friends who suggested she turn her loves for hosting and curating into a business?

And I have spent $200 and was on the website at 9:59 Central refreshing every 10 seconds three straight times because of Harry??? Right.

These people are upset that she successful, that she’s happy, and they don’t feel that she deserves it because she doesn’t look like someone who should be in that space. Whether it’s her fame, her marriage, or this industry. They want to define her and she won’t let them so it has to be fake.

  5. Is Opposite Day again. Meg actually knows how to make jam and loves doing it herself. Obviously she isn’t making it for millions of people herself! As for the fraud well that would be Chuckles who doesn’t make any of it himself and uses his very royal status to sell to his fawning public (which are less and less). My god they are just out for blood with these articles because they are so very jealous of her great success. Also have to cover for that Greek vacation with a yacht that the lazies are taking.

  6. Goldenkatz says:

Millar must not actually work with L’Oréal et al because no corporate consultant would spew this indiscreet, cruel shit. These people seem like that rando British chef who was looking for five seconds of fame by dissing her. Oh well. May Karma treat him as it has treated the Windsors— irrelevant and screaming into the void.

    • Blogger says:

He’s blown up whatever future clients he may have had 😂

    • Nokitty! says:

      @Goldenkatz

Yes, exactly! What company would want to associate with toxic, unprofessional people like these? Do they not see this as a poor reflection on them?

  7. jais says:

And yet despite what this guy is saying, it’s done well. If it stalls out in the future, sure, he could come back and say these things. But thus far, it hasn’t.

  8. Jan says:

I feel so sad for these losers wailing in the wind.
Yesterday Maureen (Eden) did a taste test on Meghan’s, after drinking half the bottle, he said it was acid or some crap, but he paid for it, so the joke is on him.

    • Blogger says:

So how did he get the bottle? Who paid it for him?

The rats aren’t Meghan’s target market because they don’t have enough financial liquidity to buy her products.

      • sunnyside up says:

He has probably made a small fortune slating Meghan and will continue to do so all the time the racists are happy to believe his untruths.

      • sevenblue says:

@sunnyside up, the tabloids don’t pay like that, so he wouldn’t make a fortune. It is probably business expense to them. Their USA offices ordered from Meghan for each sale in order to write nasty articles about it.

  9. MSJ says:

They’re discombobulated and I enjoy knowing that they are. Hallelujah!!! 🙌

    Chapter of Joy 🤩
    Entrepreneurial Era 🗓 ⏰
It’s all about Meg …. she’s the standard

  10. Amy Bee says:

I’m not getting their point. Don’t most celebrities capitalise on their fame by branching out into business? Where’s the vitriol for those people and what makes Meghan so different? Was this a ploy to get attention for this podcast because this is the first time I’ve heard of it.

    • MSJ says:

      @Amy Bee
These people are seriously discombobulated because a biracial American woman married a prince and is successful in her entrepreneurial endeavors outside of her husband’s toxic royal ‘mafia’ institution/family that they escaped from. They expect her to fail and perish. Her success, joy and well-being agitates their spirit.

  11. BlueSky says:

Yes let’s totally forget about her blog The Tig. She was doing this long before she met Harry.

People really get triggered when a BW gets into these lifestyle spaces. She needs to be more authentic like say Martha Stewart??

    • Blithe says:

Yes, my first thought slogging through reading this mess was: “I guess he doesn’t know about The Tig”. What Meghan is doing now is sharing real life aspects of The Tig with the rest of us.

@BlueSky, I grew up enjoying so much about B.Smith — from her books to her shows, to her restaurants— especially her restaurant in DC’s Union Station — which was always my favorite spot for celebrations. I’m hoping that Meghan, over time, shares her skills in similar directions and beyond.

If Millar welcomes “sh***ing on people who suck” — I hope he reaps what he sows, and wallows in piles of it. I’d love to see a longer, current list of Millar and Moore’s customers. The splash-back from this can be real. Dior, Olaplex and L’Oreal et al might not want their brands associated with either Millar and Moore OR the down-market, casually racist Daily Mail.

      • lamejudi says:

Loved B. Smith! I owned a nightshirt from her brand and it was so great-doubled perfectly as a swim coverup, and the quality was top notch.

  12. Eurydice says:

Lol, next they’ll be saying Meghan was a fraud on Suits because she wasn’t really a lawyer. There’s plenty of evidence that Meghan actually does love the things she says she loves, but at the end of the day, what does it matter? Meghan’s CV includes starring in Suits and becoming a royal – why would any marketing “expert” think she shouldn’t use that? When Charles suggested she should get a job to support a royal lifestyle, how did he think she was supposed to do that? Change her name and work at a gas station? No, she would use her name and connections to make some real money, just like all the other royals do.

As for “people don’t believe it” – everything Meghan touches sells out, everything she wears, she makes, she mentions, everything shown in the background of her videos. Kate is more royal and equally famous and nobody’s out there clamoring for her plum jam recipe.

  13. Maxine Branch says:

Who cares what those thirsty gutter rats think, feel or believe. They are entitled to their opinions just as Meghan is entitled to hers and her customers are entitled to theirs. Meghan has been creating for some time and friends encouraged her to mass market and I am glad they did because there is a market for lightness, being good to yourself and friends, sharing good food, good vibes and good thoughts, we need feel good moments in home entertainment we have had enough of perfection and loud voices scolding you for making a mistake, she is all about the intention behind it. Meghan’s authenticity shows in everything she does and this is why many are drawn to her. If she continues to scale upward as she appears to be doing, she will eventually build a nice empire bringing her loyal customers who support and believe in what she is recommending with her

    • Christine says:

Meghan brings so much positivity to everything she does, and it’s a joy to watch. These people can stop claiming they love Harry so much, anyone with eyeballs can see how happy Meghan and the kids make him. He’s in like a euphoria bubble with his little family. Salty Isle needs to move on, because the Sussexes could not have quit that bitter island harder if they tried.

  14. JENNIFER says:

Daily Mail found 2 white people who hate Meghan? Ok.

  15. Libra says:

“I’m agitated by her”. What a weird thing for him to say. A woman he doesn’t know and has never met, has this much power over him? I just don’t get it.

  16. Resa says:

This raggedy ass podcast hasn’t even broken 2,000 followers. I teach high school English, and the kid in our school who got a 1600 on his SATs has more followers than Camille Moore’s podcast and, under the Meghan post (with all of 90 comments), she’s hyping up anyone who says they hate Meghan and questioning anyone who doesn’t. She’s yet another white woman who cannot stand to see a Black woman rise above what they believe to be a Black woman’s perceived station. We are not supposed to be the First Lady, or the wife of the world’s most eligible Prince. In other words, we are not supposed to be have as much or more than any white woman anywhere. When we do, it breaks their brains—and then women like Camille Moore try to break us. It won’t work.

In the words of my Black, Southern father: Camille, go sit your ass down somewhere.

    • Angelica Schuyler says:

@Resa, YES! YES! To everything you said, a resounding YES! and to your father as well!
Let their brains continue to break.

  17. sunnyside up says:

Duchy originals jam is made in a factory in Cornwall owned by the Duchy, and Highgrove strawberries are grown in Norfolk and made into jam in Somerset. Funnily enough when I lived in Somerset, there were loads of farms selling pick your own strawberries, so it has the right soil and climate for growing them. Why any one thinks that Meghan would run a commercial production line in her own kitchen shows a lack of common sense.

  18. Monika says:

What an angry and unprofessional guy! This Mr. Millar openly admits that he loves trashing other people’s businesses, what a nice guy.

I would love to hear his opinion about Peter Phillips, James Middleton, Mike and Zara Tindall and all the other royals, people connected to the royals making money out of their status and connections but that would not get so much attention as trashing Meghan. Another one trying to get publicity on the back of trashing Meghan.

Meghan thrives and loves doing all the domestic things, making homemade things such as jam or spoiling her guests and friends. You can see she loves this things and she did it before she met Harry. Her products are all excellent as the taste tests show. So Mr Millar bu**er off.

  19. bisynaptic says:

    Dear Meghan, please sue.

  20. GMH says:

Lest we forget, the Fail pays the folks to provide provocative quotes for click bait. The fact that they need the pay means their actual business is small fry. Mission accomplished for the Fail, however. We are talking about it.

    • jais says:

Oh these two sounded like they would have done it for free. Maybe they didn’t realize they could’ve been paid, lol.

  21. ariel says:

Side note. I did not purchase honey on the first drop, but i got some this last time- and it is delicious.

I am too old and don’t have energy for the british, billionaire owned, devoid of journalism “media” and their need for therapy to get over an ex who left them in the first days of 2020.

Move on, no one wants to hear you whine about it anymore.
    Get a therapist.

  22. tamsin says:

Clearly Meghan is selling excellent products that are delicious. Seems like there is an endless supply of people willing to holler into the wind to spew and defame. The rant is unprofessional, petty and personal. Can’t imagine this guy advises world famous brands. Did he work for the pr firm that advises these companies. Reveals that he’s not even well-spoken.

    • Christina says:

Coming here to say that I got the butter cookie mix, and they were phenomenal. I had a chance to get the rose, but passed since I’m trying to drink less. But the cookies! I’m excited to get my free apricot jam and to buy the raspberry.

It’s quality treats all around, a chance to sprinkle some fairy dust into the everyday.

These podcasters see money in trashing her, but the quality of her products will outlast whatever new hack critics come along. Attacking her is a business unto itself, and they are fakes. They don’t even try to understand what she does. They can just taste the food, but then they’d have an informed opinion. Morons.

  23. KS says:

Even if they were 100% right, this makes absolutely no sense. This says they are top advisors to brands like L’oreal…do they think those people are just really passionate about shampoo? No, they’re trying to make money.

Running a podcast about capitalism and complaining that people are disingenuous to sell products is just…beyond dumb.

  24. Over it says:

Kaiser, all this hate being level at Meghan again because her business is a success reminds me of the organize hate campaign that came her way. Well Harry too but mostly her when they were about to air the Oprah interview. I went back and read some of your coverage on that and this new round that started a few weeks ago with Sally bedell book really seems so familiar . These people are hell bent on destroying her at any cost and it will never end . I am so happy Meghan is living her best life and can honestly say f the haters and make her own decisions.

  25. Pebbles says:

It would not surprise me in the least to know that certain people in America are being bribed/told to sell a certain narrative on her in the media. I’m referring to the really weird article about ‘staff’ calling her a dictator in heels with no solid evidence that it came from current employees and not just regurgitated talking points from overseas from some source from Britain. Also I don’t care what anyone says, that vanity fair article was intentionally meant to be a hit piece that didn’t quite hit. What reason would they put some random fact about a divorce book possibly been shopped by some agent?

Anyway this is just more of the same. I unfortunately think Meghan will continue to be the punching bag. They want to wear her out into leaving Harry so he can return and be their lackey again.

    • sevenblue says:

A lot of american media have either british editor or british writers. They would very well lie on Meghan, it isn’t like VF is the pinnacle of journalism. If you check out the parent company, all the media companies writing hit pieces about H&M are related. They also write puff pieces about Kate and William. It isn’t hard to see who is paying them to write lies.

    • Tuni says:

Exactly. This weird doofus is slamming what he himself does for a living. He must have been told when hired to come apart at the seams, for no logical reason, publicly that Meghan’s haters, or other media , or meghan followers, would boost his numbers in traffic to his pod, site. And this new found”credence” would translate to higher audience and more traction with selling his “brand” and capitalizing with future brand associations.

I mean the weirdest people can be scammed into thinking they can sell their faux hate to make money. Probably because they are already failing at their business, have creditors to pay, and have, in their mind, nothing to lose. It sounds like he hates himself right now for selling out, not Meghan. And it sounds like he just told everyone exactly why he hates himself. And exactly what he has done.

I mean he gave up public perception of what a intelligent person looks like to do this. He must have a lot of bills owing.

  26. Gail Hirst says:

“Mr Millar has said. ‘It [As Ever] is run by a confederacy of dunces working on this platform that is just getting maximising the value from her fame that came from Suits and being a part of the Royal Family and they’re just milking that for everything they can’.”

This sentence alone tell me this “brand expert” cannot be very successful considering his sentence structure. “is just getting maximising (SPELLING LOL) the value” is not a coherent thought. I would never associate my company with this kind of branding!!!

    • Gtwiecz says:

I noticed that. This is not a serious person. Sounds like a total loser. Willy’s budget to pay these illiterate losers is big. The RF are so dumb. Abusing Meghan just makes Chuck, Willy, Kate and the hanger ons look terrible. Makes them all look mean, evil, spiteful. William’s face makes me want to puke.

I think this rise in attacks is because of the Epstein case finally getting attention more broadly, Andrew, and the visit of Rump to the UK, where the royals somehow think to wine and dine this horrible man is a good idea.

  27. L4Frimaire says:

This is really uncalled for and incredibly nasty. Wish she could sue them over this because it sounds defamatory. They weren’t expecting the wine to be good and praised by sommeliers, and want to dampen enthusiasm for her next product drop. May Meghan and AsEver continue to grow, thrive, stay successful. These disgusting, incredibly unprofessional people, can suck it. That’s my professional analysis of their lousy opinions.

  28. Aquitaine says:

Meghan is a creative, hardworking, and financially successful woman. The saltines are racist and envious of her. They are also furious because she flipped the script and rescued Prince Harry from the Windsor/Wales’ dragons.

  29. Val says:

“her As Ever launch has been a resounding success by any metric” I disagree with this. She’s had two out of three drops marred by unfilled orders, including my own for apricot jam. That is not a resounding success. Mind you, I love Meg and wholeheartedly disagree with everything this psychopath just pulled out of his ass to smear her. Literally none of it is true. I believe Meg loves this stuff and it’s absolutely “her thing”. And that shows in how everyone who has actually gotten their hands on the products raves about how yummy they are. But until she can fulfill her orders consistently, it’s not a successful venture – to ME. Not at all.

    • sevenblue says:

You are aware that any new business would have problems especially if the demand is much much higher than the supply? I think, by success, they are talking about numbers, which determines the success of a business. She sold out the same day on every sale. If I read a business failed, I would assume they couldn’t sell their products, not the demand was so high, they couldn’t fulfill all the orders.

    • StarWonderful says:

Her products sold out. That’s success in my book.

    • MsIam says:

Meghan refunded all of the unfilled orders and promised people would still get the jam for free. Will you complain about that too when you get your jam?

  30. Walking the Walk says:

Did she run over his dog? WTF was this article?

  31. MikeB says:

What they can’t stand is that 4 million followers translates into a potential 4 million customers for her goods. Three sell outs in a row and more to come. Where do they dig up these so called experts? and who cares what they have to say?

  32. Sean says:

The loopy, circular whining from the latest hate monger to walk the plank made me dizzy.
Will this one vanish into the shark-infested sea too?
Send that photo of Meghan on a swing so he can opine that she’s just faking the swinging by having unpaid Ukrainian war refugees push her off camera.

  33. slippers4life says:

BM: SHE doesn’t really like making JAMMMM!!!!!!! BAM! Look, we rhymed.

Meghan:you’re right. You got me, I hate making jam. Boohoo hoo let me just cry so hard in my millions of dollar bills in my 14 bedroom house.with my hot husband because yes, it’s jam I hate and not you bitches who tried to make me kill myself; had concerns about my baby being too brown and pulling his security before he was born regardless of the roles we took on and then, in trying to protect our child, you took our security away and told terrorists where we were. No no, making jam is what sucks. I only do it to upset the Queen!

  34. Ms says:

Nobody has heard of this moron outside of his immediate circle and guess what? He’ll remain in oblivion after this. Attention whores kill me, they will say or do anything for clicks.

  35. Al says:

Am I the only one who feels like there’s a coordinated effort between KP, BP, and these media personalities to constantly smear Meghan? It always seems to happen when they’re in crisis mode or trying to deflect attention.

Either that, or they genuinely can’t stand the idea of her succeeding on her own terms.

It’s hard to believe that so many people would go out of their way to tear down one individual— especially someone who seems focused solely on her family and building her business.

If that’s not what’s happening, then I must be missing something entirely.

  36. Elsa says:

She has influenced me and I love it. I bought each of my daughter’s a Le Crueset petal brazier for Christmas.

I would buy the jam and honey if it wasn’t sold out.

  37. martha says:

    Was he drunk?

Did she once turn him down for a date?

Or blow off his “well-intended” (……..) unasked for advice re The Tig?

    WtH ?

I can’t fathom why he’d say this. He can think whatever he wants, off course, but this tirade makes him look like an unprofessional jackass.

Someone who cares about his own branding business would surely just say that Meghan has a lot going for her, but they’d have advised doing some things differently, etc. Diplomacy.

    Ass.

  38. Hattie says:

Hmmmm… something BIG!!! is about to happen.
