Pamela Anderson didn’t think ‘With Love, Meghan’ was a rip-off of her cooking show

With Love, Meghan’s first season was originally scheduled to drop in January, but the premiere was pushed back until March of this year. This delay gave Meghan’s dumbest haters an opening to claim that Meghan was “copying” Pamela Anderson’s cooking show, Pamela’s Cooking With Love, which premiered in just a few weeks before WLM. Again, it’s more than likely that Meghan and Pamela were filming their respective shows around the same time in 2024 and it’s not like either woman “invented” cooking or entertaining shows. It would have been easy to shrug off the talking point/comparison, but Pamela’s producer ended up making a bitchy comment about WLM soon after that show aired. There was an awareness at some level, and Pam’s producers should have just left it on social media. Well, now that Pamela is part of a big promotional tour for The Naked Gun, she appeared on Watch What Happens Live. Of course Andy Cohen and his fluffy blowout brought up With Love, Meghan.

Pamela Anderson is clearing the air on comparisons between her cooking show and Meghan Markle’s. During an Aug. 3 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, the Baywatch alum, 58, was asked if she felt Meghan’s Netflix series With Love, Meghan was a “rip-off” of her own show, Pamela’s Cooking With Love, which premiered just a week earlier.

“On a scale from one to ten, how much of a rip off did you feel like With Love, Meghan was of your show, ‘Pamela’s Cooking With Love?’ There were articles saying these two shows were very similar,” Cohen asked Anderson during a round of the segment, “Plead the Fifth.”

Anderson, who joined WWHL alongside her Naked Gun costar and new beau Liam Neeson, appeared surprised by the question.

“One. I didn’t,” she replied.

“One? On a scale from one to 10, you did not see any similarities?” Cohen asked again.

Shaking her head, Anderson said, “No, I didn’t really look, but I didn’t invent cooking shows,” and added with a laugh, “She’s just doing her thing.”

I guess this means that Pam’s producer was either speaking out of turn or speaking for himself. I want to believe that Pam really doesn’t care, and that she understands that this format has been well-trod for decades. Besides which, her show is a knockoff too – most recently, it’s a knockoff of Selena + Chef. Anyway, it’s a good thing Pamela doesn’t want any Sussex Squad smoke.

Why should she? I’m sure her ratings weren’t as high as Meghan’s.

  2. Tessa says:

It’s the first I heard pamela has a cooking show.

  3. Kiki says:

Oh ffs. Andy is a messy bitch and Pam doesn’t seem to be into bs. She and Meg should do a collab

    • Dee(2) says:

Yeah how many times is he going to ask people that come on his show about Meghan? I understand that she’s a cultural touchpoint, but it seems like he literally just had Denise Welch on there asking about her. I could give more play to it when she was promoting her show, but she’s been pretty quiet the past month. Why are you asking two guests in a few weeks about her?

      • Carmen says:

I remember Megan was once being interviewed somewhere and she commented that she no longer watched the housewives; she was over it. Andy still salty😄

    • Vinnie says:

No, no collab. The shows debuted a week apart, yet right away it was assumed Meghan was the copycat. White women are always given the benefit of the doubt. In any collab, it will be assumed that Meghan is the one trying to leech off Pamela – even though Pamela is on a less tan stellar network in Canada and Meghan is on the amighty Netflix!! The nerve of Andy Cowen, always stirrring up crap!!

  4. somebody says:

This is how you answer a question with no snark. A lot of people asked about Meghan need to take notes. I wish someone would bring up the actual facts about when the shows were filmed and dispel this nonsense completely.

    • Debbie says:

I wish people would stop asking these other women whether Meghan has their permission to do her show. That’s really what it amounts to. “Is it okay with you if Meg lives? And breaths? And makes money?”

    • Vinnie says:

Oh, it has been brought up over and over again in the UK and US , but malicious people just ignore facts. Up here in Canada I’ve been watching this play out for months which is why I’m upset with Cohen for bringing up something that has been debunked so many times. At first the media tried to pretend the producer was speaking for Pamela but she has cleared that up before.

  5. Becks1 says:

Good response from her. she didn’t invent cooking shows, Meghan is just doing her thing, why does there need to be a comparison? Its also how he worded it – not just how many similarities there were, but how much did Meghan “rip off” the show? I’m glad Pamela shut that down the way she did.

  6. Lisl says:

Andy Cohen is Messy and Petty. Nothing that “happens” on his show is worth repeating.

  7. Andrea says:

Pam has no time for his nonsense

  8. Noor says:

Pamela was honest in her reply that Meghan did not rip off her show and that she, Pam did not invent cooking shows. But Daily Mail was dishonest and misleading in writing the headlines that does not represent Pam’s reply

  9. Dee(2) says:

So basically Pamela behaved like a normal rational human being when asked how likely it was that someone copied her by releasing a show around the same time that she did, that was one in a long line of other shows of a similar style that have been produced for decades.

I’m glad she was like this is stupid, because so many of these people were acting like they were complaining and accusing Meghan on her behalf. Too many people forget that those trolls don’t love them they just hate Meghan, and feed into it needlessly.

The way that the media wants other people, but women especially to hate Meghan is so obvious. And it speaks to the insecurities of those in the media that push these narratives. That’s why when these people get pulled into being shady about her now, I supremely side eye them. It’s very clear what angle is being worked.

  10. ABritGuest says:

No offence to Pamela’s show but have people like Andy or those people claiming copying even watched Pamela’s show? I doubt I would have heard Pamela had a cooking show if it wasn’t for these copying claims articles. Same with Emma Weymouth. Are the deranged still claiming to support her?

I just feel like most of the time they don’t even care about the people they claim Meghan has copied & they just want to use them as a stick to beat Meghan with. Remember that town who the press claimed was going to sue or the NY fashion brand? It’s tiring

Anyway agree that Pamela handled attempt to stir well & there are many who could learn from her.

  11. Gemini says:

The only reason Pam Anderson’s cooking show got global attention was because it was the designated white comparison to Meghan.

I am not sure whether Andy is on Meghan’s side. He always baits his guests to talk about Meghan and every time the guest shuts him up and talks positive about Meg. Whether he was after those quotes or not, those quotes makes news as a win for Meg.

    • Barb Mill says:

It’s strange because Andy was a guest on Meghans Archetypes podcast and I remember him defending her when people started accusing her of not even interviewing her guest. He also said when Meghan asked him to be one one of his show way back when she was starting out was the biggest mistake of his career.

  12. jais says:

That was a chill answer. A silly question but she kept it chill so respect.

  13. StillDouchesOfCambridge says:

There is a time where age, maturity, wisdom makes you indifferent to what people say and think about what you do. Pam doesnt care, she’s just doing her thing. Martha doesnt give 2 💩 either. Meg and all these women are not Kate spying and hiring people to spy on Meg and copycat everything she does.

Andy makes sure to bring up Meg to get her attention because I’m SURE he’d love to get her as a housewife. Ratings would go up the moon.

  14. ariel says:

I am LOVING the Pammy reinvention. Love that she has taken time for herself and been single for awhile and really gotten her head together around a lot of stuff.

Also- perfection- i didn’t invent cooking shows.

Last thing- I hate andy cohen- he really has avibe that he hates and does not respect women. Not that he is just a messy b**ch, but that he really women as lesser than himself.
I almost want to watch that episode those with Pam and Liam.
Most of the time on his show you get an actual star and then one of his reality “stars” – and i refuse to watch all that trash.

  15. MsIam says:

Andy Cohen’s favorite activity is pitting women against each other to see what happens. You can see him salivating like a dog with a bone at the thought of some kind of petty conflict. However, he has spoken well of Meghan in the past and if Pamela had said something snarky he may have checked her. Still doesn’t excuse him for making a career out of pushing the stereotype of gossipy, hateful, backstabbing women.

  16. sevenblue says:

Andy built that question in a very negative way, probably because Pamela’s own producer talked sh*t about Meghan’s show. If she shut that down earlier, people wouldn’t think she was sharing the same negative thoughts about Meghan’s show. Good that she cleared it up now, but letting the producer of your show talk like that about another show wasn’t a good move. There are multiple cooking / lifestyle shows in similar tone. It is weird they are only accusing a black woman of stealing from another show.

  17. Amy Bee says:

Good for her. This was idiotic to begin with. I didn’t know she had a show until the derangers and the British press started this narrative.

  18. Sasha says:

Pamela seems like such a sweet person who has seen and been through some goddamn sh*t in her time. Would she really be mad about another woman with a cooking show? I really don’t believe it.

  19. ❤️❤️❤️❤️SCAR says:

    Love Pam’s cooking show.

  20. Jaded says:

Pam really is a decent person. After all the personal crap she’s been put through over the years she could have turned into a bitter betty going after all the people who have wronged and hurt her, but she steadfastly refuses to do so. Her inner angel is really shining big these days and she’s got untold depths of talent we never knew she had.

    • Vinnie says:

Pamela is from a humble Canadian background and she has returned to her country roots and the people who grounded her.

  21. Truthiness says:

That clip makes Liam and Pamela look like more than movie promotion, Liam was being protective, sweet, and touchy. Asking her to rank her ex husbands was really foul.

  22. tamsin says:

Andy Cohen has made a career out of having women fighting each other and egging them on to be “catty” and nasty about each other. That’s what his Housewives franchise is all about. He seems to take great pleasure in it. t’s a form of misogyny. What does it do to your soul to do this continually. It makes you think there is an innate meanness underneath it all. I wouldn’t trust Andy with anything. The way Andy worded the question is shading Meghan to start with. I also notice that people, when asked about Meghan’s show, always like to preface it with some version of “I haven’t really seen it” or some such. I can’t imagine that people doing a cooking show wouldn’t be aware of and look into what else is out there. It’s just a matter of being professional.

  23. j.ferber says:

Pamela is a lovely lady and I really think she’s coming into her own now. Good for her.
