Josh Duhamel is a doomsday prepper and he left LA to live in his Doomsday Cabin in Minnesota. Honestly, the preppers probably weren’t wrong. [Socialite Life]

Good for Josh! We keep kicking the idea around and need to go ahead and get started.

He probably should not be so public as to where it is, though 😉 He’s had film crews there mutiple times. I feel like the best prepped spaces are those that others don’t know about.

      • Gilly says:

My in laws have a cabin on the same lake.
They have seen him on the lake and at Zorbaz.

      • Cheryl says:

Exactly! Preppers don’t advertise they are preppers!

      • Happy Camper says:

The chain of lakes he picked isn’t exactly far off the beaten trail as far as options either. If he really wanted to fall off the map he’d pick somewhere else. But people in MN also tend to treat celebrities like anyone else (if they even recognize him). Eccentric millionaires aren’t rare either.

      • gaffney says:

You’re exactly right! Keeping that in mind!

      • Gilly says:

My cabin is in a much more remote part of the state.

Doomsday can come to the woods too.

Where he is is not exactly the middle of nowhere. That’s a very touristy area. My family farm is two hours from Fargo too, in a more remote area. And it’s still not like we’re living in Siberia. And yea, MN isn’t safe from problems either. In addition to climate change, Big Ag is emptying out all of our groundwater. People’s wells are going dry so that big potato farmers can deliver perfect potatoes to McDonalds.

Josh is a very handsome man. Hubba hubba.

  3. Truthiness says:

Duhamel endorsed Doug Bergum, a billionaire Secretary of the Interior who is currently promoting energy “exploration” of the US land and waters. I hope Josh’s land and water is affected, sorry if this conflicts with Celebitches living nearby. I guess we’ll be lucky to measure any pollution or global warming at the rate we’re going.

10 years ago I would have laughed at Doomsday Preppers. Now I’m seriously looking into buying a piece of land somewhere off the grid in a blue state.

I think he still has a big mansion in LA somewhere. He was on Hollywood Houselift, and Jeff Lewis updated his bachelor pad that worked for him and his son but he had remarried and they were expecting. Then he bought a bigger home in LA a couple of years ago, and I think even kept the other one for a rental.

His older son with Fergie goes to school in LA. His new series is shot in New Mexico, so he is probably living in New Mexico for six months of the year when filming. I don’t think he lives full-time in Minnesota, because that would take him away from his oldest son, whom he adores. I know he spends summers and downtime in his Minnesota compound with his family, because he loves it. Many people hate living in the industry town of LA, but I doubt he’s given his LA home up, because during the school year, he would need to be back there often enough to spend time with his oldest son.
