In late July, the Mail on Sunday had a splashy exclusive about the Prince and Princess of Wales. Apparently, after living in Adelaide Cottage for three years, William and Kate decided that they urgently need an upgrade because Adelaide is just too small for a family of five. The Mail also claimed that William and Kate were once again eyeing Fort Belvedere, a somewhat lavish “fort” on the Royal Windsor estate, complete with a swimming pool and a tennis court. There were immediate doubts about the Fort however – while the matriarch of the lease-holding Weston family recently passed away, by most accounts, the lease was and is still valid. So now it looks like the Fort Belvedere speculation was used to hide the real move. The family has been given Forest Lodge, an eight-bedroom mansion/lodge on the Windsor estate.
Prince William is moving his family to a “forever home” in a bid to build happy memories after three tough years. Eight-bedroom Forest Lodge, nestled in Windsor Great Park, is where William, Kate and children George, Louis and Charlotte will remain even after he becomes King.
Insiders say they are hoping for a “fresh start” after a difficult time at Adelaide Cottage, during which Queen Elizabeth died and Kate and Charles were diagnosed with cancer. It is the ideal pad for their young family and far removed from Buckingham Palace or Windsor Castle.
They are paying for the move and rent at no extra cost to the taxpayer, it is understood. And, unlike Harry and Meghan when they splashed £2.4million of taxpayers’ money on Frogmore Cottage, Wills and Kate are funding all renovations themselves and will have no live-in staff. The Sussexes later paid back the money before being evicted by King Charles.
Planning applications seen by The Sun show work has already started on minor internal and external renovations at the 328-year-old, Grade II-listed lodge — and the Waleses aim to be in by Christmas. The home offers spectacular views and football-mad William will be able to see the Wembley Arch from his bedroom window. And Kate has already been spotted picking new furniture to kit out the new abode, including a 24-seater table.
A source close to the Waleses told The Sun last night: “Windsor has become their home. However, over the last few years while they have lived at Adelaide Cottage there have been some really difficult times. Moving gives them an opportunity for a fresh start and a new chapter; an opportunity to leave some of the more unhappy memories behind.”
The source added: “This is a move for the long-term. They see it as their forever home.”
The Sun understands the move from Kensington Palace in London to Adelaide Cottage three years ago was partly designed to test life in Windsor and see if it worked for them as a family. Insiders say the Windsor location allows Wills and Kate to be “as hands on as possible” as parents while balancing Royal Family commitments. They have been very keen to join their children on the school run.
We can reveal planning permission for modest internal and external renovations to Forest Lodge were lodged with the council in June. Documents show it requires new doors and windows, stripping out of internal walls, renovated ceilings and new floors. But there are no plans for any demolition or new outbuildings. The freehold is owned by the King in care of The Crown Estate. The most recent tenants have bought a new property and moved out.
The Sun also made this sad little note: “The home is an upgrade on Adelaide Cottage but still half the size of Prince Andrew’s 31-room Royal Lodge.” It’s true. While William and Kate were handed yet another home, they’re still disappointed that they didn’t get an ever bigger property, like Fort Belvedere or Royal Lodge. I don’t think Forest Lodge even has a pool, the poor sausages. And only EIGHT bedrooms? And no outbuildings? How middle-class.
A note about the money and the “forever home” bullsh-t – when they were given Apartment 1A in Kensington Palace, they justified the costly, taxpayer-funded renovations by saying THAT was their forever home. When they were given Anmer Hall in Sandringham, they once again decided that their second “forever home” needed costly renovations, although those were not “taxpayer-funded.” Sandringham is the private estate of the monarch, so it’s likely that Charles and QEII paid millions of pounds for the Anmer reno. Then there was Adelaide, which if memory serves, was somewhat move-in ready. And now Forest Lodge, which they swear is their “forever home” and they swear they’re paying for renovations. Sure.
Additionally, the Sun claims that this move is William’s “statement on his future. He is planning to raise his children not in a palace or a castle — but in a house. The family of five’s country pile is a world away from the suffocating walls of Buckingham Palace or the draughty passageways of Windsor Castle. It is now clear that William is unlikely to ever live in the palace, which has been home to monarchs since 1837.” Yeah… can’t wait for “King William” to get his hands on all of those “forever palaces” and “forever castles.” Then we’ll see if he and Queen Waity are actually happy with an eight-bedroom lodge and no live-in staff.
Last thing: there are obviously more reports and additional gossip about this, which will cover tomorrow!

His only happiness will come if he can somehow evict the sussexes from their montecito home. Oh well, since that can’t happen, he’ll keep looking!
Ok.
Once again, a 8 bedroom home is “too small” for the future king.
Or will be when he realizes -yet again- with astonishment – that he’s going to be king and ohhhh the changes to his life and responsibilities he never spent a single day preparing for.
He needs to live in the castles. For all the diplomacy. And to serve the people. And the protocol. Tradition! Tea! Union Jack!
Kate has an upgraded home. Her mother can move into Adelaide or Frogmore or whatever. I have no idea what’s where anymore.
Does Kate have access to any of their other properties? You would think it would be mentioned that they would stay in that immense apartment or Amner or whatever from fine to time to show that they love them and use them.
I looked at the place on google maps. I call bullish*t on the ‘no outbuildings’ part–you can clearly see rooflines in the adjacent landscaping PLUS there’s another home on the other side of that, basically at the end of their driveway. Is that going to be for the Middleton parents? Or, a few years down the line, will we hear K&W need to move to where they cannot be ‘overlooked’ given their nearest neighbors are basically in their backyard (more accurately, their sideyard).
Honestly – thats the thing. Harry has 1 home. It’s hands down amazing and they love it – they actually LIVE in it, use it and don’t treat it like a museum or showplace. That’s fundamentally confusing to William who was taught that homes are meant to be viewed as indicators of status and to display items – not that homes are a place you love and you put up items you love to enhance your home. To William – Joe’s are not a place to live and love and be together- to make memories and share joy.
William is never content and he will never be content until he has a home with 11xs the bedrooms of Harry’s home and 32xs the bathrooms.
Harry’s has 11 bedrooms. Right? This place has 8. William is going to be furious he hasn’t been given what an heir deserves. That he has less in this area too. Less than Harry.
Less house. Less beard. Less wife. Less happiness. Less self awareness. Less work ethic. Less personality. Less self control. Less friends.
But William will shove his wife and two of his kids there full time. George the majority of the time.
As big as some of these old castles are and despite being historic, I would take that Montecito house over any of them. It’s such a gorgeous space.
For me, it’s the pool. I always wanted my own pool. I’d live in the pool house & be fine with that as long as I could get in the water every day.
I don’t see why they don’t just move into the castle. Maybe the renovation needs are too expensive. Why is Kate buying furniture? I’m sure the BRF has a warehouses full of furnishing she could choose from.
The BRF does indeed have a furniture storage warehouse on the Windsor Estate and allegedly Kate was seen there picking out a 24-seater dining table.
If Harry and Meghan were living in a castle, then he’d want to live in a castle. He wants what Harry has.
Also consider, they don’t move homes like the rest of us do. We take all our stuff with us & reconfigure it all into the new space. They, however, leave all their stuff because they’re not actually moving households, just themselves. They need to keep everything furnished for when they might want to return for a weekend or something.
Ok well the Sussexes paid those taxpayers back that 2.4 million dollars so f**k off with that bit of nonsense. Looks like Can’t got a bigger place to house her staff and Ma and Pa. As for Peg living there? GTFO with that bit of nonsense too. Peg lives separately from his beloved sickly wife. This was just Ma Midds and Can’t wanting to change the deal and get something bigger.
Exactly…Kate and the Mids were never happy with Adelaide cottage, it wasn’t a permanent move, no matter what they had claimed back then. It was clearly the only available house at the time and probably both William and Charles were satisfied for Kate’s home. But,helas, “cancer” occurred and the Middletons had a new and strong argument to negotiate…” They are paying for the move and rent at no extra cost to the taxpayer, it is understood”. Whoever believes that kind of drivel, I have a bridge to sell you…their money? Ha!
They needed a better divorce home before they agreed.
I wonder if the waleses will also pay back that £4 million that they used for their “forever home” apartment 1A Kensington palace.
That’s Willy’s forever bachelor pad so he can use his Uber chopper frequently. He’s not letting that one go.
This was first revealed in the Daily Fail yesterday. Some astute person commented that will be Kate’s “separation home”. Hmmm.
“As for Peg living there? GTFO with that bit of nonsense too.” Yup. WIllie is unlikely to live there, just as the so-called “school run” is a joke.
Very sad that the kids (who are presumably all literate) can read all the fiction spewed by the press & have to keep those secrets from their school friends. Like the nonsense about the school run & that their parents live together.
Oh the shade and snark from the Fail on this – will be they giving back Adelaide to the crown, me thinks not. Ma will have her eye on that as HER granny home, she already has a room there apparently.
Neighbours are being evicted from the properties nearby – guess they don’t want people to see how William won’t stay there and how often the Middleton clan are there.
It seems to be the Middleton takeover of Windsor real estate…
I think that’s where their “non live in” staff will live.
Now it is very interesting that if you type in forest lodge in google maps it will not bring you there. Adelaide cottage does and so does Fort Belvedere. But when you do find it, it is further south of Adelaide cottage and outside of the main security perimeter for Windsor castle and grounds, which is where Adelaide cottage was located.
So what they aren’t mentioning is the extra millions in security they will need the taxpayers to cover for the location, just as Andrew needs for Royal Lodge.
The former stables next to the house were converted into living spaces and those are the people who were kicked out.
Either the DM or the Sun reported that work has been going on since June on the main house and that privacy fences are up.
These two lazy slugs during this whole time have been in yachts and on holiday, doing no work and they will cost the taxpayers more because kate and her mum wanted a bigger house.
It is a guarantee that William will live in Windsor Castle once he is king. All monarchs have done so including Charles.
And William will get all the properties as king.
So this house isn’t for him.
Honestly when do the British taxpayers get mad at this slumlord and his greed. He doesn’t even bother the duty as left of this position.
The whole not taxpayer funding thing is such BS anyway. If William is paying for it then it comes from the duchy of Cornwall which is dicey in terms of whether it’s public vs private. If Charles is paying for it then it comes from Lancaster and same discussion.
It’s funny to me bc this is still a large house but most standards but it’s clear it’s not what they wanted. I think when they agreed on Adelaide, it was one of two things –
1) it was Kate’s separation home and William never lived there but now he’s stuck for a while so they needed an upgrade as he and Kate need their own bedrooms.
2) they knew how sick QEII was and how close to death she was and they assumed Charles would upgrade them when she passed. He clearly has refused which is why I don’t think this is Charles funding this move at all.
Ah, so they’re kicking out the neighbors in the house at the end of the drive. Then I think yeah, that’s where the Middletons will live. Or all the live-in staff.
So it sounds like this is a “Here, damn” offer from KCIII. A way to shut up the spoiled brats (William and Kate)
I assume, like Adelaide Cottage, that staff are down the road from the house because I don’t believe that Kate and William are cooking every night or that Kate cleans. Doesn’t nanny Maria still work for them?
Does Louis still need a nanny???
Kids often need a lot of attention beyond standard business hours, especially if the adults travel a lot or have — or are expected to have — evening engagements. If they don’t have a nanny —or two, I’d bet that Carole is doing a LOT. Maybe that’s why they keep saying that “No live-in staff” bit — to justify Carole’s ongoing presence in their household.
My 8 and 10 yr old kids school hasn’t started and I work remotely from home. I have no peace until they go to bed and I do most of my work at night. I can’t wait for fcuking school to start. A nanny would be nice for a few hours every day. So yeah, Keen has a nanny or two so she xan focus on.. nature?
I assume that’s why two tenants were evicted from nearby cottages. The MoL has a piece today claiming they were given as nice or nicer new cottages, but there’s no proof of that. What are the Waleses hiding, that they don’t even want security folks in the house with them?
Interesting to see The Scum working for WanK while The Fail seem to be in cahoots with CaC.
Good point!
I was just wondering if the “No live in staff” bit was some kind of cultural achievement marker: Royalty: They’re just like Us! It seems silly to point that out —repeatedly, when clearly they have staff, and surely have access to staff around the clock.
There were also two garages that were converted into small stand alone houses. I think that’s in addition to the nearby cottages that were evicted.
Sorry two stables that were converted and maybe those are the cottages that people were evicted from idk?
If you scroll around the area on google maps, there are cottages that used to be stables and they are nearby. Likely where the staff will stay. The tenants were kicked out because the two laziest don’t want the unwashed near them.
I believe the AA term for people who continuously move in search of happiness is called ‘geographical’. It seems like this is what Will and Kate are doing!
Except they keep moving within Windsor. It doesn’t make any sense. I don’t understand why they couldn’t live in Windsor castle for that short while and then move in to this place. Why take Adelaide cottage to only live there for 3 years because it’s too small? Surely they knew that before moving in.
It was reported that Charles said no to them living in WC. Whether that was true or not idk.
I doubt Charles would accept the Middletons living in Windsor..
They wanted Royal Lodge but Chuck never kicked Pedandrew out.
It’s beyond ridiculous to keep saying it’s too small for the family of five. They were a family of five when they moved in!!!! 🤦♀️
So this is what Kate has been doing instead of working: shopping for 24-seat dining room tables.
Read somewhere that it has two master bedroom suites. I have no idea whether that’s true. Or maybe the “upgrades” include this sort of re-arrangement. But if that’s the case, it’s possible William and Kate could live in separate wings of the manor. It’s also possible that the grifting Middletons, who must be struggling to afford the upkeep on Middleton Manor, might move into an in-law suite.
Things that bring keen joy. Buying expensive large tables and shirking duties.
I don’t believe that Kate has been shopping..I doubt she or William is in the country. They are on vacation abroad, probably separately. That’s why they couldn’t attend in the event for the veterans. It’s an effort to show her as relatable…she probably hired a decorating firm and they are doing the shopping according to her taste… after all, according to the article, there are plenty of things that need to be done before the move.
Will there be grainy photos of a lookalike keen buying furniture
I read she was shopping internally. There seams to be a huge storage of royal furniture/art to pick for. Being watched there and reported means staff is talking. Her visit probably wasn’t recently, the permit for renovations was from june.
My question is why Meghan had to buy them a couch when there’s apparently a huge storage of royal furniture.
Only English Roses are allowed to pick… And Harry wasn’t meant to sit around. He had to work his royal behind off to cover up for the lazy heir. So what would he need a couch for???
Who knows what the couches are like. Too old, too fancy, too hard, not their style. Meghan buying a couch doesn’t seem a big deal. Their Montecito place doesn’t scream “old castle/palace” aesthetic.,
Kate’s has allegedly been choosing furniture, including a 24-seater dining table, from a BRF-owned storage warehouse on the Windsor Estate. It is believed to house furniture and antiques not currently being used by the Royals. That’s if you can believe what is printed in the MoS.
Yes the fact that it was confirmed she was seen at the estates warehouse getting a 24 seat dining table confirms that someone from the staff spoke to the DM.
The staff not keeping quiet on this will lead to other leaks later on. Will and Kate have never been known to be decent to staff and if Carole lives there too you can be sure we will hear more stories about her demands for Chablis.
If I had to guess BP is letting it be known that they can leak. Assuming that it’s not BP staff that is directly leaking these details which could eb the case.
I thought at that social level, one simply didn’t buy one’s own furniture. 😄 It would be inherited, custom-made, or a senior member of staff would make enquiries for you?. (Happy to be corrected by our British crew on that one!)
If Lazy was smart she’d ask the family’s carpenter, David Armstrong-Jones, for a bespoke piece.
But yes the middle class pretensions of the Middleton-Buckets are showing. Willy married a real gem with Lazy! 😂
Actually the Mail article clarified that she was seen in a sort of storage house for royal furniture picking out the table, so no not shopping like middle class people 😉 I do recommend that Mail article, I imagine it will be covered here tomorrow. One can tell they are really p**sed that their scoop was denied though it was true. They point out that the Waleses already have a Forever Home and use „“ throughout when writing „forever home“. They also remind everyone of the exact costs (to the taxpayer) of the KP renovation.
The article says she’s been ‘shopping’ the RF warehouses of unused furniture rather than buying new so following that rule. There is literally hundreds of years of cast off furniture floating around. The RF is notorious for never getting rid of anything.
There is no way they even have 24 friends that they could invite for a dinner party.
LOL!
If you count up all the ghastly Middletons it probably makes 24.
Feel sorry for the staff who’ll be cooking & serving them.
K&W are a family of five, Pippa’s got a family of five, James has three, then there’s the two parents, which brings us to 15. Hmm, who else would they have at that table? Uncle Big Mouth? Unlikely. Jason? Maybe. Rose Hanbury & her fam, which would be another five, I think? Jecca? I dunno, do they bring the mistresses around for family dinners?
Yes, I love how the article says William can see Wembley Arch from *his* bedroom.
“His” bedroom indeed 🤣. I missed that.
I’d not be surprised if the upkeep of Middleton manor would be billed to one of the duchies. Carole will never let it go. But I’m sure she stays over at Kate’s a lot and we all know that’s not the place where Peg stays. An 8 bedroom house Lol no. He has an apt in W castle and KP of course and who knows how many luxury cottage bachelor pads in the duchy that we don’t know of. And then there is Jason’s place.
So their idea of a “forever home” is moving every 3-4 years. How feckless.
This is Royal Renovation taxpayer funded style.
“Insiders say they are hoping for a “fresh start” after a difficult time at Adelaide Cottage, during which Queen Elizabeth died and Kate and Charles were diagnosed with cancer”
😂
So they’re blaming the cottage for their unhappiness? Next time someone dies, they plan to move lest they remember their unhappiness at remembering the events?
What lazy, useless parasites. Commemorating VJ80 with a 25-seater table. Good luck filling in all those seats! The Middleton clan must be moving in!
I have my theories about why Adelaide cottage holds unpleasant memories and they have nothing to do with queen’s death and Charles and Kate’s cancer. Something really unpleasant happened that we probably never know.
I like theories. They take the public for fools.
I thought the “incident” happened around Christmas when WanK were at Amner. So why aren’t they moving out of Amner? Why keep returning to the scene of the “crime” particularly during Christmas?
The tweet with the video said they came from Sandringham but realistically they would head to a London hospital from KP or Adelaide cottage.
Yes my theory is that the fresh start and bad memories stuff relates to that.
At some point the truth will out. And I think Camilla will do it through her network. She is holding on to it for now, but in a world after Charles, she will use it to control William.
End of February 2024 was the game changer.
When William becomes King he will have a wider choice of where to live.
That’s what’s interesting. We don’t know how long Charles has left but wouldn’t the family move into WC eventually. So how is this a forever home?
I don’t think this was for William. This was Kate renegotiating for what happened last year. They likely needed permits to start the work and we know contractors were seen there in June. I suspect the previous tenants of the lodge were told last year.
They have been working on this for a long time.
What a stupid excuse to justify getting ANOTHER home. Millions of people go through hard times in their homes and don’t get another one (while STILL occupying other homes)
They always play victim. No doubt they will only live in this home for a few years and will try to find another “forever” home.
Whatever “forever” means ….
😏🤭🤣
I see what you did there! Well played! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Well, this is a family in which, historically, many people DO move when family members die. Charles keeping Highgrove and staying on in Clarence House is an exception. Usually when a monarch dies, lots of people shift to new housing, starting with the new monarch. Will it make the Wales family happier? Maybe. They’ll have more space to house their their unhappiness, and maybe for -ahem- extended family visits.
So who paid for the renovations at KP, Anmer and Adelaide?
Taxpayers, the Queen and/or Charles, unknown.
CarolE didn’t work so hard for K not to live in a castle eventually. Also, if W finds the “trappings” of royal life suffocating perhaps he should abdicate. WanK clearly don’t think through the PR spin their media buddies at The Scum are rolling out for them.
Gotta give credit to the Middleton hustle. Carole grew up in a council flat. Lazy grew up in one home, now she has several and a chopper at her beck and call.
What a cuck Willy is to have been so oblivious to this stalking, social climbing family. No wonder why Lazy flashed her vagina often. It was clear what Willy saw in her…and was so easily led by.
This is just gross
The Middletons lived in at least three different places by the time Kate finished her university degree.
So much for Adelaide being Kate’s divorce home. Girlfriend is moving up in the world.
I doubt peggs will spend much time there.
Obviously not, that’s why they want absolutely privacy and isolation.
So the Wails need this house … because cancer? Not just Kate’s illness, but also Charles’ cancer and the Queen’s death? Maybe I should have packed up and moved after my mother died in her own distant home. How long are they going to brandish the cancer excuse? It’s like an organization I work with, where their boss died and now any time there’s disagreement, the other group is forever saying, “But Betsy would have wanted this.”
😏 the excuses are fantastical!
At least we know the Lazies are utterly miserable, trapped in their gilded cage, doing fuck all except choose a royal house to renovate and move into every couple of years.
What a boring pair of parasites.
So Adelaide cottage is haunted by cancer? Who’d want to lease the haunted cancer house now?
I thought they wanted Adelaide because it was close to the school they wanted, it was close to the Queen. I also think they thought they really wanted to be in Windsor so when the Queen passed they would be able to move into Windsor Castle. They didn’t expect Charles to say no to that.
Yet we have POS KCIII also being diagnosed with cancer, still going through treatment, losing his actual mother and having to take on the huge burden of being monarch but still remaining in the same home he lived in during the last three difficult years. It’s both impressive and disgusting how the media play with the facts to make the things this couple do justifiable. They have way too many homes, are paid for their rare and mediocre work and there is no reason that they need to move again from a home that they moved into while knowing at the time if it was going to be too small for their family. This is just another episode of them wanting everything for doing absolutely nothing for the taxpayers who fund them.
I cannot believe they are using the queen’s death and cancer as a reason for why they’re moving again. Those are some lies lies lies. They wanted a bigger house. End of. And they’re using cancer as a means to justify it.
Am I alone in thinking that it’s odd that someone who has experienced the upheaval of cancer and chemotherapy would choose to inflict on herself the additional upheaval of moving house? OK, maybe she’s at a stage where the worst is behind her and she feels able to move on to new challenges – but if she’s really well enough to do that, why is she not well enough to go back to work?
Seriously, if your colleague was signed off sick but posting on social media about enjoying active holidays and embarking on a big home renovation project … wouldn’t you be asking if she’d had an occupational health assessment?
I can believe there is a lot of staff and help to do the actual moving. And that there will be a lot of “good days” leading up to the move. What I can’t believe is that having had cancer is a reason to move. They wanted a bigger house and they’re using the queen’s death and Kate’s cancer as an excuse to have it. I’d have more respect if they just said they want more space as the kids get older to have friends over or something. But announcing the move and citing these as the reasons as to why the move is so understandable… it’s messed up. Whatever dark times were had at that house, it was not the queen’s death and it was not the cancer that Kate was fortunate enough to have go in remission.
After all the weeks of speculation about Willi and Kate moving into Fort Belvedere now this announcement. Why now?
Distraction, distraction, distraction, from the failure of Kate’s summer video and their no show to the remembrance events for VJ day, honouring the veterans.
Apparently two families were asked to move out of two nearby cottages, converted from stables belonging to Forest Lodge, probably enough space to house the Middlons and their not live in staff.
How many for ever homes do Willi and Kate have now?
They started renovating in June so this was in the works for a while. The Fort Belvedere stuff was likely a trial balloon or someone misheard where they were doing the work.
Fort Belvedere is nearby this place and to be honest Forest Lodge was never mentioned as an option even the first time they were looking.
The rota rats knew darned well it was going to be Forest Lodge & not Fort Belvedere and they LIED. Unflippinbelievable! They’ve known since June!!
No, I actually think the rota were being lied to by the palace.
I don’t want to defend the tabloids but in the DM article it said that they tried to confirm with KP staff and they lied to them saying that it was silly season.
They also mention that another paper was lied to as well.
Expect some sharp edges in the new mansion stories because of those outright lies.
Huh. Interesting. ‘Silly season’ indeed.
My understanding is that KP released the details of the Waleses move this weekend. The preparation for the move started in June so KP could have released the details when the speculation about a move to Fort Belvedere started or any other time. They did not. KP sat on this information to release it at a suitable time. I think they released the details this weekend to deflect from the last few bad weeks, the yacht holiday, Kate’s video flop and the MIA during the VJ remembrance events. This all did not go down well with the public and even some of the BM. But as always KP has such a lack of self awareness to not realise how the public might feel when the heir to the throne moves to his sixth forever home. He might pay now for the renovation but other building costs in the past were covered by the taxpayers. And it does not look good to ask other families to move out of their homes to make space for the heir.
I am not sure if the RR new the details of the Waleses move. I believe they probably knew that something was up, perhaps knew that Kate was looking at furniture, but probably not the details.
This story is wild. I don’t doubt that you can associate bad memories and tough times with a certain house, but the absolute privilege to be like I’m going to move to another mansion because this mansion gives me the ick. They are just utterly shameless.
They don’t care at all what the public thinks of them. They have given the UK citizens and Commonwealth their asses to kiss, and you better enjoy it. This confirms it after not showing up for any VJ events. They are going to take as many vacations as they like. They are not going to tell you anything about what they’re doing. They are going to move where they want to move. They will not do small scale events. You will accept them retweeting and posting videos and showing up occasionally where they want to show up as all that they’re going to do.
I hope the media enjoys carrying water for them for the next 40 years, and finding new and inventive ways to explain why Harry and Meghan are the real bad guys and utter failures.
“They have given the UK citizens and Commonwealth their asses to kiss, and you better enjoy it .” Brilliant Dee(2), bloody brilliant!!
And the BM’s biggest fear is losing access. What is it that they have access to at this point? Peg’s rage about his brother?
The bad memories are not the cancer but the real reason for the disappearance last year. Adelaide cottage was given in 2022 before the incident on Dec 28, 2023.
If it is what we suspect it is, then I think that’s what the media is saying when they say Kate wants a fresh start and away from the bad memories.
This place is part of the negotiations.
From what I’ve been able to find out, it has a swimming pool, tennis courts, a”chandelier-lit ballroom” a drawing room and gallery.
Renovations began on the then £16 million ($21.68 million USD) house in June of this year with the Wales’ moving in by Christmas this year
Moving at Christmas time will cause Lazy an enormous amount of stress! She’ll need a holiday from her holiday!
Does it have pool? It has tennis courts but I’m not sure about a pool. However, I can believe that one will be put in.
Yes, Princess Charlotte will be getting her tennis court but I’m not sure about the swimming pool either. As you say, they will probably install one.
If they have a pool then it’s an indoor one, ’cause I didn’t see it on google maps. Didn’t see a tennis court, either, I’ll have to go look at it again. (I’ve got nothing else to do today. 😉)
I apologize for my pettiness but do they have enough friends to justify a 24 seat dining table?
Her family with all the children could explain that (Pippa, husband, James and wife +her parents)
I don’t know if she is that close to Pippa anymore. They are hardly seen together.
This move is probably for Kate’s parents and siblings for whenever they come over they can have space. Anyways I hope Kate is this extra accommodating for her son’s future in-laws (which I doubt it, she seems to be the type to want her family around all the time but not her in-law’s family)
I’d love to see George pull a Brooklyn, lol!
Honestly I hope he does. He will have the duchy income at a very young age. He can do anything he wants.
So, Kate finally managed to negotiate a bigger divorce home, in the Windsor´s secured enclaves, for herself, the kids (likely the two younger ones), as she hates Adelaide Cottage, for it´s the ´smallest´ of all the senior royals´ residences.
WandK are lying to the public again. Willy will not move into that house with her, and he will def. not live there when he became king. It has become more obvious what this is all about – they will announce the divorce just before it’s time for the ´family to move in the new home´. They are in a hurry with this move/renovation, because of Charles´ health situation, which, alleged to the rumor mills, seems to be in a final stage. WandK can’t still be married when that final moment is there, allegedly.
Something really bad happened in Dec 2023.
I wonder what William did….
It gave Kate and the Middletons serious bargaining power.
Wow!
I think they will continue with the separate lives for as long as they can. But this is definitely an upgrade separation home for whatever happened on December 28, 2023.
I thought Dec 28th came from the supposed ambulance trip that was debunked, I believe even here (at least in comments from regulars who looked into the claims and locals who said the trip didn’t make sense)?
Something likely happened at some point because whatever it was Willy is over a barrel and the mids will be living in Windsor castle before long.
The video of a police escort to a London hospital was posted by a royalist account. So not sure why this was considered debunked. The original source would not be interested in posting anything negative about that family.
Also Kate has a scar over her left eye which remains visible in non photoshopped photos to this day.
She was not seen in public for months until the car photo with Carole where her face looked swollen.
The amount of time that she was not seen in public would fit in with an initial injury with a few rounds of plastic surgery to repair the damage. In particular her refusal to show her face heading to or leaving the hospital after two weeks of recovery only adds that it was not just an abdominal surgery, because her face would be fine.
Also the abdominal surgery would not have prevented her from posing in a family photo but we got the kill notice fake photo. Again that would fit with someone not wanting to show their face in March 2024.
I think the press always knew that William and Kate were moving to Forest Lodge and the Sun was given confirmation this week in exchange for silence on their non- appearance at the VJ memorial. It’s very interesting to see the reaction to William and Kate moving to another home compared to when it was leaked that Harry and Meghan was moving to Windsor. Absolutely no outrage from the press but the Sun couldn’t help bashing Harry and Meghan in this piece. People forget that Frogmore Cottage needed structural work which only could be done by the Crown Estate hence the Sovereign Grant paid for the renovations. It doesn’t seem that’s the case with Forest Lodge so William and Kate only have to pay for internal renovations. Harry and Meghan did pay to retrofit Frogmore Cottage.
It’s interesting to see the Sun get this scoop while the DM simmers. It does make me wonder about the FB news from a week ago. Was that just a red herring or the tabloids just guessing that the Wales wanted it. Seems like they all knew that the Wales wanted to move but didn’t know exactly where until now.
The DM got the story about kicking out the tenants. They also made mention of a privacy fence at the property.
I suspect the press knew they were taking a new place but weren’t told where.
The silence on the Greek super yacht got them moving to print this story.
Agree. What I’m wondering is if Kp was deliberately throwing the idea of FB out there to keep the rota off the real story or if the rota was using FB to try and goad KP into giving up the real story. And while I know this story of the move is distracting from missing the VJ event, it’s actually making things worse. Which is why I wonder if “someone” tipped the Sun off to something that forced KP’s hand in announcing it. The DM got the story about the tenants after the Sun broke the story and I think there’s some anger at being given the runaround while the other paper got the scoop.
Any news re the Wales always bring to my mine the old saying, “Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive.” The Wales are quickly bringing on the Not My King brigade.
Harry and Meghan moved into Frogmore cottage which was already slated for desperately needed renovations and at the time of their move they were both working more full time and with public interest at heart than the Wales have been in the past three years. The work that Harry and Meghan were doing during the time that FC was being renovated was work that was helping the families affected by the Grenfell Tower fires, Heads Together and several other organizations while also preparing for a newborn and several successful tours. All Willie and Katie have done is bounce from one holiday to the next while stalking all things Harry and Meghan. Not to mention Harry and Meghan voluntarily paid back renovation costs to the benefit of the public and royal family. The Wales have been racking up “forever homes” while doing nothing beneficial for the taxpayers who fund them. They vacation essentially every month and go to sporting events for work which benefits no one but them.
It’s lovely to see the “Champion of the Homeless” getting yet another “forever”home. It really warms the heart that he is so blissfully unaware of the optics of the future King basically showing “his subjects” how little he plans on being in London to take audiences, to do the actual job of kingship. The British public must be so proud.
Sorry but this looks tone deaf especially being announced the day after William shirked his duty to attend VJ day with NO explanation whatsoever. No doubt because it would have been ridiculously inadequate to even try to explain why he can’t take even one day out of a two month holiday to attend a national commemoration of the end of WW2. I wonder if the Scum were tipped off in exchange for not headlining Workshy Will ‘s snubs father and WW2 veterans on the front page?
The insistance that Willyboy won’t live in Windsor Castle proper just solidifies for me that he’s probably living there.
And the Wales are supposedly paying market rent? Funding the move privately? I don’t buy it. Something’s up.
Offering comparable Crown Property homes (free to Willy) saves bucket-loads compared to having to buy tenants out of a lease. Guessing that the Westons, who are currently renting Ft Belvedere, didn’t see Forest Lodge as a comp. So the Wales will have to do without a swimming pool unless they build one, poor sausages.
Although maybe not. Were the homes people are being moved into just standing empty? Will we be hearing about upgrades, which just means making them livable? Were they grace and favor so easy to evict the inhabitants?
There’s no mention in any coverage about the security costs this will cause. Both ongoing and to establish adequate security perimeter in the first place.
This property is a significant distance from Windsor Castle, well outside of the current security perimeter that includes Adelaide and Frogmore Cottage.
It’s probably as far from the Castle as Royal Lodge (but in a different direction). So with all the talk of how much Andrew’s security cost(s) this will likely cost as much, if not more.
More because I doubt this house has ever had high security- Royal Lodge was always protected because the old Q Mother used to be there.
I also noted the careful silence on security which suggests there will be associated costs
There were articles about security for Andrew being around three million for royal lodge, which is actually not far from forest lodge and outside of the Windsor security perimeter. So of course there will be at last for the taxpayers but probably double because of all the heirs in one place (even if William doesn’t live there).
Aw. Another forever home. The press continuously referencing the term “forever home” is lightly mocking the Wales. Bc it was what they said about KP. The mocking is light as a feather though. it’s fascinating to watch them now spin AC as a test-drive house and forget all the humble home pr. The reference to moving on from unhappy memories and difficult times…okaaay, sure.
A couple funny things I noticed on Twitter this morning – there’s an aerial shot of the house – it’s MASSIVE. Like, the tabloids are very much covering up the true size with that one image. Second, the no live-in staff? Clearly they are being based at nearby properties – they would have to be. Plus, security personnel. The propaganda is crazy.
The house is massive. The shot the papers are using is so deceptive.
There is a print being passed around online and it is not forest lodge. You can see it in an aerial shot on google maps. It is much bigger than Adelaide that is for sure. Plus there nearby residences for staff or Carole.
When Ft Belvedere was being talked about, we all heard how hard is to break a lease or buy out the tenants. Guessing William didn’t offer them comparable (although there’s no proof of that) homes out of the goodness of his heart. Rather, William was unwilling to reach into his pocket to break a lease so offering other (free to him) homes is what it took. And there was no comp for Ft Belvedere.
“A fresh start and a new chapter” are they delicately hinting that these royal love birds are rekindling their love after ,ahem, a few bruising years!? Once she was being parked in tiny AC and sidelined along with the Midds and now she’s won a bigger house and gets a 24 seater dining table! Love and forever Queendom with all those tiaras and jewellery within her reach.
Doubt it. Fresh start alludes more and more to Kate agreeing to an upgraded divorce home during negotiations. Willy won’t ever live here. No jewelry & no love, even from the beginning of this charade.
agreed.
William and Kate don’t have a real job and therefore don’t earn a real salary. This is all tax payer funded and I don’t care if it’s Dutch’s Money or S.G money , it’s all the public money. So they can miss Me and the part of the public that have a working brain with this splitting hair nonsense. These two are greedy and they will never be satisfied until they have a different house for every month of the year.
Except for the two months during the Summer when they are on somebody else’s luxury yacht!
So many “forever homes”. So little time.
No pool? Yes, Willy and Waity are certainly giving those kids a wholesome middle class upbringing 🙄
Surely there is a room for Kate ‘s grand piano so she can practice for her annual Carol service: all the right notes but not necessarily in the right order!!
Never a truer word spoken.
Eric Morecambe never knew!
The real question is how many bathrooms does this place have? Does it measure up to the eleventy billion bathrooms in Montecito?
11,000,000,001 So that’s OK.
They’re about to have one less child in the house but suddenly need more bedrooms? Kinda makes me think George going to Eton still isn’t a sure thing. Or maybe too many people are noticing William lives in Windsor Castle and not Adelaide? Whatever it is, it’s a joke that these lazy grifters get all these mansions and do nothing to earn them. So many flimsy excuses for why they can’t “work” anymore.
“ They have been very keen to join their children on the school run.” 👀 👀 👀 WUT I thought they’d been joining the kiddies on the school run all this time and that that was why they haven’t been able to put in a proper day’s work between them the past five plus years?
‘Join them’ doesn’t even sound like they’re doing the actual school shuttle driving, somebody else is.
Kate and Louis once stepped out of a car stuck in traffic on the way to pick up George and Charlotte and they walked along the bridge etc that was there bc he must have been antsy with the traffic (traffic that was necessary because they refused to send their children to the Thomas’ in their neighborhood and insisted on the one in Battersea). They clearly still use RPOs to drive at times.
I think we can confirm: Carole has got the goods.
Whatever is hanging over William’s head concerning his behaviour is worth shielding from public knowledge at whatever cost. The institution is in irrevocable decline, it can only be downhill from here.
Not such a grand house, actually. An upgrade from Adelaide in terms of size though
I’m going to conjecture that some of the timing has to do with British laws on divorce. They moved to Windsor (IIRC) this time in 2021, coming out of quarantine and changing schools for the kids. Possibly coming out of a trial separation wherein Will lived at Sandringham and Kate at Anmer. One year later — September 2022, the late Queen died. One year after that, September 2023, the press started getting briefing points about “hot single dad” William who was booking foreign travel alone so Kate could “stay with the kids.” Then we got the sh*tshow showdown of 2024, and someday I will race to my nearest bookseller if that story comes out in lurid living colour. September 2024, we got Kate’s “cancer free” / reunited-and-it-feels-so-much-like-Xanax promo reel. September 2025 we get news of another home move. At some point you’re going to count the years since they were last cohabiting and that was…. By my reckoning, 4 by now. I’m putting money down that 5 years’ separation is the marker for a divorce announcement. If Charles is still breathing in September 2026, and George is starting at Eton. The wheels all click into place, then. I don’t wish divorce on anyone but really, this has been dragging out too long. Charles and Diana’s separation was announced in Parliament in December 1992, bearing in mind Harry had started at his boarding school in September 1992, likely when Diana moved out of Highgrove for good. Their divorce was initiated after her Bashir interview in December 1995 (IIRC) and decree nisi issued in August 1996. One year later she was dead. That’s another way to measure five years. Kate will be lucky indeed to get out of this family with her kids and her mum and a nice big house. I mean — lucky. Then she can enjoy the rest of her life. William can enjoy his own company. JFC.
There will never be a divorce announcement. They are not divorcing. No divorcing couple takes this many vacations with each other and if you think the Middletons have work this hard the last 20years just to walk away when they are this close to the crown then you haven’t been paying attention! She is getting the title and crown!
Same thoughts here. Never for a moment believed that she would go down without a fight. The crown has been her single minded goal ( and her mother’s) for many years a d she is not going to let it go. She has plenty of dirt on William and is not above using it to stay married, if in name only.!
Couples who have real work don’t take many vacations.
That’s the conundrum. He appears to loathe her in public but they’re on vacation every 5 minutes seemingly together. Plus the press basically outed he doesn’t live in Adelaide (they sleep in separate rooms – Adelaide doesn’t actually have enough space for that). Also the helo to kp day and night. I guess they can holiday together without having to give festive glances. I also don’t think they’ll divorce. I did think that 2021 but not now.
Separated parents going on holiday with their kids happens all the time. There might be other reasons to say there won’t be an official divorce, but the non stop vacations aren’t it. Besides the Middletons showing up on the vacation, or the Jordan wedding suggest that kate and William do not go anywhere without intermediaries along with the kids.
They also go to places where separate rooms are easy to do, like super yachts and a huge ski chalet.
At the end of the day William will decide if a divorce happens. Kate doesn’t have a say.
Wikipedia says, “The house contains eight bedrooms, six bathrooms, a long gallery, and a principal drawing room reached from a central hall. A self-contained staff flat forms part of the accommodation. The grounds include a ha-ha, a tennis court and a large pond.” It’s Georgian and was enlarged in the early twentieth century.
It’s interesting that it’s another brick building–kind of shades of Anmer.
I keep repeating this but Kate is the biggest winner in all of this… she truly is the most powerful person to marry into the family and she will be the power beside W when he becomes King. The difference between C&D was his jealousy and W understands that to get major attention, he needs Kate and he doesn’t seem to resent it as much as his father. W&K are both working towards preserving their wealth and power and that trumps their mutual dislike of each other.
She will get any accommodation she likes if they want her to play ball!
I read this differently: I think Carole has managed every aspect of her daughter’s life since the poor girl was 13, and came home for summer holidays rejected and forlorn. Not to worry, though, because Mummy Dearest planned for a weight loss summer glow up, and next semester saw Kate mooning boys and inviting posh girls to her sleepovers.
I think Kate, at this point, is on her way to becoming the next Britney Spears; never a moment of peace or independence, and stuck in a state of arrested development at around the age of 14, not unlike her husband. She is mentally and emotionally very stunted and incapable of running her life (or even forming two coherent, non-practised sentences, but I digress).
*Carole* has power. And it lies in the hand she holds: knowing William’s dark secrets that are apparently so appalling as to warrant near complete capitulation to a family he has publicly shunned for at least half a decade. He must really be a violent monster, and knows how embarrassing it would be if the world found out.
My tinfoil tiara is firmly on and I buy into this 100%.
Oh I totally disagree, San Diego. Kate has no power at all if Willy wants rid of her. Look what they did to Diana, who was much more popular, beloved (by the general public the world over), and even better known (remember Kate having to tell someone at an event with William that she was his wife? An event in England!). If William wants her gone, she’ll be divorced so fast the buttons on her coat dress will be spinning. William and the entire royal machinery will then go into action protecting the institution (and therefore, William and his heirs). Kate and MaMidds will be painted as grifters who trapped poor grieving William into marriage etc etc.
I agree with Weatherby that Carole has some extensive dirt on William, but I’d bet he has some on Kate and the Middletons as well. So it might be a mutually assured destruction kind of situation and both will avoid spilling the details. I agree with others above that this is an upgrade to Kate’s divorce home and that’s why the comment in the article about them living there even after Willy becomes king are (somewhat) true. Kate will be living there for good while William is elsewhere. I believe AC was meant to be Kate’s divorce home but then William did whatever he did that December and Kate and MaMidds were able to renegotiate.
Anyway TL;DR, William can get rid of Kate when we he likes and there’s nothing she or her mother can do about it. They (the institution and British press) will drag her reputation down to hell if she tries to take William down.
The difference between Diana and Kate is the media and public loved D but the family couldn’t care less about her. Kate has the full backing of the family… I mean look at whose side was chosen between k vs. H& M.. the family chose K and she has been around long enough to make friendships within the family not just married in. Kate does not compare to D. She has much more support with her family, the institution and she’s also the most popular member with the public.
San Diego. The royal family chose will the heir over harry. Kate is never going to be monarch. I would not say Kate is the most popular with the public some of which don’t prefer her laziness. Her ambitious family and her being a mean girl.
Diana, was very popular with the public and too good for the royal family. Kate skips out on work.
I don’t understand why anyone thinks Kate or Carole has power here. William is heir to the throne. Look at how Andrew is still around and he’s a pedo.
William has even more power and will be untouchable once he is king. There could be video evidence of William hitting Kate in the face and that would end up erased and Kate’s skeletons brought out.
Diana was loved and the media still managed to make her look bad. The Middletons are middle class grifters who have no power compared to William.
Kate’s role was a broodmare to produce the next heirs. That is done. William won’t care to turf her if he feels like it.
William getting a new house down the road from Windsor castle is pretty basic for him. He’s not exerting himself at all and it benefits him right now.
Kate looks physically ill at this point and not someone who is in control of her life. If she felt secure she would look much healthier.
Married ins have no real power. Particularly Kate who is subject the the whim s of a temperamental husband. If William wants out he will divorce her and the media would side with William. If Kate has real power she would not have waited 10 years for William to settle
I’m looking at this from a strategic perspective and she has power. Once Harry left, Kate has all the power. And she’s used that leverage to her maximum advantage! She can negotiate whatever she wants within reason and they’ll give it to her. I think that’s part of the reason William hates Harry.
Harry cannot stand keen because of the way she treated Meghan. Harry wrote in spare he and Kate were not close to begin with. Keen aided and abetted pegs treatment of harry. She is too much of a mean girl to figure out she would have been better off to make friends with Meghan
Kate has no influence or power. If will wants out he will get out. And move on
Kate got a sort of okay new place. That’s not much in the scheme of things. She can’t control where George goes to school and likely not the other kids either.
William does not need Kate. He does not have her accompany him to that many places anymore
.william pulls away from her if she tries to grab him or hold hands.
Why is all this smoke and mirrors around this house hopping? Once again they have to mention, inaccurately, the Sussexes to justify whatever they’ll spend to renovate this place. They can do what they want and spend what they want and will never have to justify it.
If I were able to place a bet (as you can, in the UK, at a selection of bespoke book-makers, it’s one of my favourite things here, you can legally bet on anything, provided the book-maker is willing to take the other side) on the outcome of this situation, the bet would have to be formulated with a line of contingencies: at some point, if Kate is no longer travelling with William internationally — or even within the UK — and the cancer story is played out, and the school run is past stale, people are going to ask, *why* as this is not normal behaviour for married people. If William accedes in the next five years, say, and has to contemplate a coronation, that’ll be the deadline. If Kate is crowned, she’s home and dry. If, on the other hand, William decides between his accession and his coronation that it’s best for all to clear the boards, and draw a line, then I’m betting that his office will announce that he and Kate have in fact been living separately for several years, as it seems they have. If that is indeed the case, they would be entitled legally to seek a decree nisi on the grounds of mutual accord and petition for a no-fault divorce. At this point, I’m assuming that William hired his late mother’s law firm in order to draw up a divorce agreement including financial instalments, NDAs, and custody schedules, so that if and when he decides to pull the trigger, it’s all lined up. I’m guessing they have been negotiating for some time, and the fact that Kate is now moving into the house she so desperately wanted signifies that the negotiations have cleared all the major hurdles and a draft of the final settlement is in reach. That’s my bet. I’m guessing they still holiday together for a couple of reasons, the first being, they want the kids to have some memories of them as a family. Which is quite sad, actually, but not as sad as being married to someone like William, who seems an obsessive, narcissistic rage monster. I’m guessing the joint holidays are also intended to keep the press at bay, and, finally, if Kate and the kids holidayed separately, it would be too obvious to everybody that they had decided to separate. Finally, it may be a way to keep everybody sweet whilst negotiations proceed. I’m guessing George’s enrolment at Eton was also part of the negotiations, hence, someone — Carole, most likely — has been floating stories in the press for a while about how Kate might prefer he go somewhere else. Not true, just a negotiating tactic. But. Now that Eton is upon them, the game is up. Carole is losing her leverage — as is Kate — every year the kids are one year older, and less vulnerable, less needy. I’m thinking they will wait until George is settled in at Eton, and then the countdown will begin. They’ll want him to establish a support system. That is the major hurdle — that, and how long Charles has to live. But this marriage has palpably been over for a while.
I agree with this. It is one year living separately or two if one side doesn’t consent. William has cleared that hurdle long ago.
Also they might be waiting until the kids are in a more protected school like Eton or Marlborough. They probably won’t wait for Louis to be in boarding school. The state of Charles’s health has made that unlikely.
Peter Phillips divorced and was able to date and be a single dad
No disapproval from the media just congratulations when he dated
Met his future wife and they are engaged. It would not be difficult for will to move on should he want to and Kate could not stop him.
It’s like everyone memory holed the fact that the current king was divorced from the mother of the heir and he cheated on her with the current consort.
William will be king no matter what. There is no moral requirement.
They are paying for the renovation themselves… yeah right🙄
The Duchy of Cornwall is paying!
And the media keeps throwing into the mix about H&M reno but some don’t bother to mention that H&M paid everything back ( and were then, very conveniently, kicked out by Charles)

I thought HRH Egg was supposed to be SOLVING homelessness, not contributing to it….
