Honorary ICE agent Dean Cain says his arm injury isn’t from kidnapping people

90s TV Superman Dean Cain decided to make the big leap from obscurity to ignominy this summer when he announced he was joining ICE. His Instagram post played more like a budget recruitment video with a celeb spokesperson (I realize “celeb” is doing a lot of heavy lifting in this case), which seemed to coincide with ICE loosening its requirements so a broader swath of the unhinged & inexperienced could sign up. But then Cain started calling himself an “honorary” ICE Agent, yet still released a video of his obstacle course training, with a performance that likely had reigning Westminster Agility Contest winner Vanish the Border Collie guffawing in laughter. Unfortunately for Cain — but deliciously fun for us — his new ICE-capade stint is rolling out at the same time that California Governor Gavin Newsom has given his social media team carte blanche to go to the mattresses with MAGA on Twitter. So when Cain posted a pic of himself in a sling after the training video came out, @GovPressOffice was ready to aim fire:

During a moment in time that can best be described as a real-world attempt to one-up Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s South Park, FOX “News” posted a video of Cain going through training to be an honorary ICE Agent that gave us more S27E02: “Got a Nut” vibes than it had any right to.

Shortly after that video went live, Cain posted an image of himself with his arm wrapped up and in a sling. No one knew at the time if the injury had anything to do with his honorary ICE Agent training or not…

Gov. Newsom’s press office didn’t waste much time offering a response — and let’s just say that it wasn’t exactly overflowing with well-wishes and good vibes (as you can see):

@RealDeanCain: “Small mishap — will heal fully and quickly— so happy that it’s a college football weekend!!”

@GovPressOffice: “turns out arresting innocent Latino kids and farmworkers is harder than playing Superman :(”

Clearly, Cain was hurt by the accusation. No, not the one where he was accused of “arresting innocent Latino kids and farmworkers”… the one about him being injured during his training to be an honorary ICE Agent:

@RealDeanCain: “Hysterical gaslighting from these idiots. Injury had nothing to do with ICE duties— just a simple home mishap… What frauds and phonies. Apropos.”

To be clear? Cain only takes issue with the idea that he was injured during his training to be an honorary ICE Agent and not the “bigger picture” accusation — something Gov. Newsom’s Press Office noticed…

@GovPressOffice: “Dean admits ICE duties = arresting innocent Latino kids and farmworkers. Incredible!”

One person not impressed by Cain’s call to action was HBO’s Last Week Tonight host John Oliver, who not only called out Cain’s decision but also twisted the knife on Noem’s ICE and how much “trouble” it must be in if it needs to look to Cain to be its savior. After noting how the agency appears “more than a little desperate” to recruit agents, Oliver shifted the focus to what Cain had to share with FOX “News” talking head Jesse Watters about joining ICE. “You know, there’s an old saying in Hollywood: if all you can get is Dean Cain, you are f–ked,” Oliver shared.

Wow, Cain really offered up the dumbest retort. He didn’t want to make any correction to the accusations of crimes against humanity, but he did want to clarify that his injury wasn’t from that bigly macho ICE obstacle course training he (allegedly) completed… it was just from some fumble in his own home, so there! John Leguizamo really got it right when he called Cain a loser and has been. Also, the “sling” at issue appears to be a sweatshirt with the sleeves tied around his neck, FWIW.

If you’re not already, I hope this little tête-à-tête piques your interest to start following Gov. Newsom’s social media, cause he has been killing it lately! There was his hilarious birthday card to Stephen Miller, where he swapped in Voldemort for a photo of the bday boy. He’s also acing the nickname game with “Karolyin’ Leavitt” and “Just Dance Vance.” But I think my favorite hits are the ones where he fully mimics the rhetoric of the president, complete with an egregious misuse of CAPITALIZATIONS, and signing off posts with “Thank you for your attention to this matter!” This is EXACTLY the kind of push back we democrats have been braying praying for!

The expression on his face in photos says that he knows what a loser he is.

  2. So Dean can’t afford a real sling so he uses a sweatshirt? Hmmmmm…. lol.

  3. Miranda says:

In Cain’s defense, when you’re as out-of-shape as he is, those Republican circle jerks can be dangerous.

  4. Amy Bee says:

There’s a lot of self-hatred in Dean Cain. He probably hurt himself attempting to complete that obstacle course.

  5. Goldenmom says:

DELIGHTED to finally see someone push back from the Democrats. And the posts are genuinely hilarious!

And Cain is pathetic – it would be incredibly embarassing to have any connection to this sad sack.

    He looks like bloated tick.

The audacity of doing this to people is hideous and sickening. Dean Cain, someone who wouldn’t be in the US if his Japanese ancestors had not come here. I cannot wait until the end of this term and Trump is gone. We should never forget these people and their administration that did these travesties!
