Madonna is moving back to England for work, not for her kids

Madonna Helps Out Haiti In New York City!

The Sun is starting the rumor that Madonna is going to be moving back to England. While she never stopped speaking in that dreadful faux-English-by-way-of-Detroit accent, Madge is apparently seriously considering come back to England for work, not for pleasure. Apparently, the whole Wallis Simpson film project that Madge has her heart on directing is a go, and Madge will be moving back to scout locations and supervise the script, I suppose. Oh, and Guy Ritchie couldn’t be happier about it, too. He wants to spend more time with the kids. Which is really sweet. Here’s more from The Sun:

MADONNA is moving back to London after rekindling her love for Britain. It’s less than a year since her Madgesty stuffed her leotards and conical bras in a bag and returned to New York while in a strop about her marriage to GUY RITCHIE going pear-shaped.

But she has rediscovered her passion for all things British while preparing to direct her new film W.E. all about the 1930s tale of EDWARD VIII abdicating the throne to marry his forbidden lover, American divorcee WALLIS SIMPSON. And that means Madge is on her way to take her throne in Marylebone for a six-month spell this summer.

That might sound like bad news for Guy, but far from it. He is absolutely delighted because he will be able to see his nippers ROCCO and DAVID BANDA almost every day.

A source said: “The Big Apple hasn’t gone sour. M has just rediscovered her interest in Britain. She still owns her place in Marylebone and will be moving back there.”

“She’s going to be filming her new movie about Wallis Simpson in London so it made sense for her to move back.”

She has surrounded herself in the history of the great Royal scandal and that has played a part in stoking her love of all things British once again.

“Guy is hoping the move will be permanent for his sake with the kids, though he isn’t holding out much hope. He is desperate to get the kids over here and be able to see them more often. Rocco is so excited about it, although LOURDES is already working out how she can stay in New York.”

By the time Madonna and Guy’s marriage was on the rocks she was pretty sick of all things British. Guy’s love of the Punchbowl boozer and spending time with the lads drove her to distraction. But the romantic 1936 story of Edward VIII and Wallis is her new obsession.

EWAN McGREGOR has been cast as the monarch and the project is now full steam ahead. Filming is expected to start in a couple of months. My fellow Scot is a brave boy for getting involved. Madge is the BERNARD MATTHEWS of the film industry: Very good at producing turkeys.

[From The Sun]

Ewan McGregor as King Edward? Uh, no. And I’m a fan of Ewan, and I’m saying that. Ewan would be horrible as Edward. Most historical records have King Edward as a very posh, strange, uptight sort of man. Ewan is none of those things. And Ewan looks nothing like Edward! Granted, Ewan is a great actor. But I’m still not buying it. And after several prominent actresses (including Cate Blanchett) turned down the role of Wallis, Perez Hilton is now claiming that the Wallis role has been give to Vera Farmiga. Which is totally not a terrible choice. Vera actually sort of looks like Wallis!

Well I guess it’s time to trot out that British accent!

  2. Sumodo1 says:

Yeah, whatever, wherever she lives, she’s still the girl from Detroit. She’s American and she knows better than to go all limey on us. To wit: Madge didn’t “Brit it up” on her appearance this week with Ricky Gervais on “The Marriage Ref.” She could have let a few “rah-THERS” slip. But, no. She didn’t pull Her Madgesty routine.

Now, on casting Ewen and Vera? Yes, please!

  3. Praise St. Angie! says:

gaaaahhhh! It’s the Wicked Witch of the West(side)!

  4. geraldo says:

She sorta looks like Rosanne Barr here. (shivers)

  5. Scout says:

I second the witch comment! Geez, is that a horrid photo or what!?

I have never thought Sarah Jessica Parker pretty by any stretch of the imagination…but in the photo above she looks beautiful! Absoulte best picture of her I have ever seen!

  6. annerox says:

    wow. shes looking OLD! haggard.

  7. meme says:

of course she’s not moving for her kids. Vadge only does things that benefit Vadge. if it helps someone else along the way, that’s gravy. hate this old hag.

  8. Twocats says:

“Madonna” and “film” should never be combined again, even if she’s behind the camera. She’ll botch it up because her ego will get in the way of history. The best production of this was 1980′s Masterpiece Theatre series “Edward & Mrs. Simpson” with Edward Fox and Cynthia Harris – Madge should pay close attention to it if she wants to pull this off without turning it into romantic slapstick.

  9. Whatever says:

She was always ugly, but she looks absolutely horrific now.

  10. scotchy says:

    i concur
she should never touch a film camera, never. she has the touch of death and damn the lady looks rough.

  11. Leek says:

I’m just wondering if you could refrain from showing pictures of her face with the stories you write about her. Madonna, that is. She just looks weird and I don’t appreciate being blind sided by the site of it.

  12. Tess says:

Yawn. Another day. Another crummy Hollywood remake of a classic.

The Masterpiece Theater Edward and Mrs. Simpson was perfection and should be replayed not remade.

Edward Fox was beyond excellent and Cynthia Harris was very good.

The music was terrific and nobody should rip off what was already done so elegantly.

    Whatever happened to originality?

  13. snapdragon says:

    she looks like a lizard.

  14. gen says:

Madge should just stick to her concerts. She SUCKS at anything in the movie realm. And she’s straight out going to ruin this story. I bet u a million dollars it won’t even come close to their real life. I have a feeling they were into some BDSM. I swear, that’s what I get from all that I’ve read about the couple. But I do love Vera.

  15. may says:

what the F$%^ did she do to her face?
    wow – S.C.A.R.Y!!!

  16. ThunderC*nt says:

Madge’s attempt to look like Deborah Harry has fallen flat.

  17. christina says:

I luv Madonna’s music and her wit always have but I wonder if she realises how old she looks.

  18. Maritza says:

She looks 50 and not a day older!

  19. Susan says:

That’s a particularly bad picture of Madonna. Her nose looks like a witch’s and her eyes are puffy. I guess it didn’t get photoshopped like most of her pics do!

  20. lastwordlinda says:

So Madonna is morphing into her director persona now. Look for her to start wearing a beret and changing her accent and speech to something she thinks is more suitable to someone directing a film. She is SUCH a phony. Can’t stand her. Unfortunately we are going to have to sit through 2 years of reports on her making the film, promoting the film, everyone was SO wonderful, the actors got along SO well, they captured Mrs Simpson and her prince SO precisely. Gag. I think I’ll ban any kind of media from my home for awhile.

  21. cindy says:

Must of have been a hell of a love. Throne gone and still have bad teeth.

  22. Feebee says:

Fingers crossed for Ewan and Vera that despite Madge the film will be watchable.

As for Ewan not being anything like Edward, well that’s the beauty of good acting, they can believeably become someone they are not.

  23. ien says:

yes madonna is american, but when you live abroad for an extended period of time it is normal to have an affected way of speaking. it’s called a mid-atlantic accent. and it’s normal.

  24. BReed says:

    #8…you are SO right.

  25. RobN says:

@ien, wow. I could almost hear you say that comment with the same fake accent Madonna employs. Well done.

  26. moody says:

    madonna should play wallis

  27. CB Rawks says:

Vera Farmiga is so creepy looking.

  28. Jackie Brown says:

Oh Christ we have enough of our own trannys without her coming back :-(

  29. Ali says:

    CB rawks-

Yeah she looks kinda like a weird combination of Maggie Gyllenhaal and Heather Mills.

  30. Lisa says:

You know what I find it amusing that people who supposedly hate a celebrity seem to comment on articles and videos about them. There are a few celebrities I cant stand and I do not ever look up anything about them let alone comment about them! I dont like them but I am not going to be evil and say mean spirited things about them, unless they have done something to me. Even in 2011 we still have to put up with women being torn apart if they dare go out of the house after 50. Madonna is a woman in every sense of the word. She is the only woman in history that I completely look up too. She is not going to self destruct and UNLIKE others in the past who have, she has had to deal with the most hideous and hurtful comments. Thank God she is not one of those wimpy brain dead so called beautiful women who cant handle life so they become a victum and have the world feel sorry for them! Let me throw up!! Madonna is gasp getting older. So okay knock her for something she cant control! Thats fair. All women get older. Some buy into mens rules and do away with themselves. Madonna isnt going anywhere no matter how many insults you level at her!!! She is the model of a strong beautiful woman!
