Congratulations are in order for Meghan Trainor and Daryl Sabara. On January 18, they welcomed their third child and first daughter, Mikey Moon Trainor, via surrogacy. Mikey joins big brothers Riley, who turns five in two weeks, and Barry Bruce, who is two and a half. Meghan and Daryl even let her older brothers pick out her middle name. Meghan, who has said before that she wants four children, announced the happy news on her Instagram on Monday evening. She and Daryl also shared a handful of pictures of Mikey with her parents and brothers.
Meghan Trainor and Daryl Sabara now have a party of five! The pop star, 32, and the Spy Kids actor, 33, have welcomed their third child together, a daughter, via surrogate on Jan. 18, 2026.
“Our baby girl Mikey Moon Trainor has finally made it to the world thanks to our incredible, superwoman surrogate,” Trainor announced in a Jan. 20 Instagram post. “We are forever grateful to all the doctors, nurses, teams who made this dream possible. We had endless conversations with our doctors in this journey and this was the safest way for us to be able to continue growing our family.”
Trainor added: “We are over the moon in love with this precious girl. Riley and Barry have been so excited, they even got to choose her middle name. We are going to enjoy our family time now, love you all.”
Trainor — whose seventh album, Toy With Me, drops April 24 — and Sabara tied the knot in 2018 and are already parents to two sons, Riley, 4½, and Barry, 2½.
Little Mikey is adorable and those pictures with her brothers are precious. Mikey is such a cute name, too. I wonder if they always had that name picked out or if she was inspired by Mikey Madison. I always love hearing how people select their baby names, even if there’s no special meaning behind it. Although Moon may be unconventional, it’s fine for a middle name, and I think Mikey Moon is a solid name combo and built-in stage name if she ever wanted to use one.
On Wednesday, People published an exclusive interview with Meghan about their decision to use a surrogate, which they came to after having “endless conversations” with their doctors. She also said that they were “forever grateful” to have it as an option and praised their surrogate. I’m glad it was a good experience and that their surrogate is doing well. I hope they’re all settling in nicely as a family of five. Welcome to the world, Mikey Moon.
