Friends of Lindsay Lohan fear she is close to death, trying to get her in rehab

It's tripsy Lohan! Lindsay Lohan heads to a house party and falls into a cactus bush. Ouch!
We all saw the photos of Lindsay Lohan drunk off her ass, falling into a cactus outside of a friend’s house party in the wee hours of the morning. While Lindsay quickly blamed the paparazzi for pushing her, I think it was fairly obvious what was really going on. The images are nothing new. Seems like every week there are new photos of the former actress stumbling out of some club, climbing into a car and looking totally wasted. And don’t even get me started on the crack Tweets! TMZ is reporting that there are people in Lindsay’s “inner circle” who are desperately trying to get her back into a rehab program before she ends up dead. I don’t know what’s more surprising: that Lindsday actually has an “inner circle,” or that they actually care enough about her as a person to try to help her.

The people who care most about Lindsay Lohan believe she desperately needs to get help, but she refuses to listen. A professional who is extremely close to Lindsay confided in TMZ, “If she doesn’t get help soon, she’s going to die.”

People who have been trying to help Lindsay over the last year — both professionally and personally — feel something terrible will happen unless she immediately gets help for substance abuse. We are not talking about Michael or Dina Lohan. These are people who have quietly been trying to convince Lindsay to go to rehab again.

Lindsay, we’re told, is making excuses for her erratic behavior and refusing to acknowledge her problem. After falling Wednesday night when leaving a party, Lindsay Tweeted, “Only I would get pushed into a large, sharp plant by crazy paparazzi!!! I need to start wearing more flats:/”

[From TMZ]

“We’re not talking about Michael or Dina Lohan.” Yeah, no kidding! Michael was all over the TV a few months ago claiming that he was going to “save” Lindsay, but it was a lot of talk. And Dina is the Queen of Denial – she’s the one who taught Lindsay the fine art of making excuses for herself. I happen to agree with these mystery people – Lindsay is headed for disaster on a grand scale. But the only person who can do anything about it is Lindsay. After three failed rehab stints, it’s pretty clear that Lohan has not reached her lowest point yet. I don’t know how much lower she can get – she is virtually unemployable as an actress, a joke in the fashion world and no A-lister wants anything to do with her. She has seen several acquaintances die from drugs recently and doesn’t seem to be able to connect that to her own lifestyle, so what can anyone else do?

Poor Lindsey. It’s everybody’s fault but her own. The people who really care for her need to cut her off both financially and emotionally. Hitting rock bottom appears to be the only way she’ll see the light.

  2. teri says:

I thought when she rid Sam out of her life it would get better. I’m a fan and wish she’d get herself together.

  3. bellaluna says:

What amazes me is that she’s still alive. Not to sound callous, but it really is shocking she’s not dead yet. She must have the constitution of a bull elephant or the tolerance level of a Rolling Stone.

  4. Pat says:

She has friends?? wow – that’s amazing.

  5. Solveig says:

I feel sad when I see her, actually. She’s wasting away and it seems that nobody cares except the ones who need to make such revelations to magazines and gossip sites.
You have very good friends, Lindsay.

  6. GatsbyGal says:

I’m shocked that anyone can be bothered to care about her anymore. She doesn’t give a crap about herself…why should anyone else?

  7. lucy2 says:

I find it hard to believe she has any real friends left. I imagine she’s alienated anyone genuine, and those left around her are only clinging on for the remnants of her fame and the drug connections.
It’s amazing how fast she went from being a promising new star to…this. No words for it.
I hope she gets help, but like Joseph said, I don’t think she’s going to get it until she truly hits rock bottom, which she may not survive.

  8. Toe says:

We have to call Britney’s father to help her because her parents can only make it worse.

  9. GrrrrlGrace says:

From what I’ve seen, both of her parents suffer from just as many “issues” as her; however, they don’t unravel as she does in the limelight. I’m hoping that a business associate or manager steps in to help her, because I don’t see her parents being strong enough to do anything substantial.

  10. e-non says:

eh, i’m beginning to think the chick is indestructible. a steady diet for the past couple of years of red bull, alcohol, drugs and cigs would have killed most others by now (or at least hospitalized); esp ones with such a small frame…

  11. Ruby Red Lips says:

I dont think her parents care enough to step in – too concerned with their own fame.

Not sure there will be a positive outcome with Lindsay – she needs serious therapy and lifestyle change and she doesn’t seem to want to

  12. Cheyenne says:

You can’t save anyone who is hell-bent on self-destruction. She could have an unconscious death wish.

  13. DoMaJoReMc says:

You know what REALLY ticks me off about this chick? She feels that she is entitled to the fame and attention without EARNING it. This whole eTrade lawsuit is actually the funniest thing I think I’ve heard in a Long time.

You watch, when [as bellaluna put it, without sounding callous] finally succumbs to her destructive lifestyle, Mama Lohan will be all up in the public and paparazzi’s faces:

“YOU ALL DID THIS TO HER. YOU KILLED MY LITTLE GIRL!”

You watch, she will be the queen of denial all over again. She is a sh!tty mother and she pimped out her ‘little girl’ and condoned all of her massively destructive lifestyle. She actually has nobody to blame but Lindsay, herself. She has been given so much as far as chances in the business. She didn’t have to go the spoiled brat, partying route. Look at some of the other young actresses out there that have actually flourished. She COULD have been one of the success stories in Hollyweird.

  14. bodil says:

to put in my two cents here, i do believe that the self-knowledge that i think LL has somewhere buried deep inside, that she COULD have been a success or at least have had a good, functioning work- and private life, is only contributing to her accelerating self-destruction now.

there is nothing so foul as knowing that you yourself wasted away all your chances, it’s the most vicious circle you can get into to, creating an enormous amount of shame and self-hate in most people. and yes, i know she’s been given umpteen chances to go to rehab and everything and that she puts on a (completely undeserved) diva attitude, but believe me, this girl has ISSUES that go way way back. she was thrust into h-wood stardoom without proper emotional backup and this can make it very hard to handle success, no matter how strange that sounds. it’s not an excuse, merely an explanation, but sometimes i feel people are so hard on her (and others). i am willing to bet my right arm that NO-ONE really wants to act this way, everyone wants respect and above all self-respect.

all that said, she’s the only one that can save herself. i’m just hoping she hits that rock bottom without dying. i don’t particularly “like” her, but i do feel for her, as well as for the magnitude of self-destructive young h-wood women that we see coming out of the woodwork one after the other.

    zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

    TPT (trailer-park-trash)

  16. Pat says:

How can someone go downhill so fast? She was such a cute little actress only a few years ago. Shows us regular people that money isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be. I wish her well.

  17. cult of skaro 23 says:

“….or that they actually care enough about her as a person to try to help her.”

You know schadenfreude is one thing, but some of the posts I’m seeing on Lohan are approaching gratuitous sadism. Not unlike the people who used to watch petty thieves at the gallows.

It’s fun when celebrities make asses of themselves, but just because they’re idiots, that doesn’t mean they deserve to die.

Isn’t one of the rules; “wish death on anyone you will be banned.”

  18. Tia C says:

I can’t help but wonder if Lindsay is just one of those people who is “constitutionally incapable” of getting sober. If three trips to rehab in a relatively short time span didn’t work, what will?

  19. valerie says:

i feel so bad for lindsay! well said bodil…

  20. Cheyenne says:

@cult of skaro 23: Don’t be ridiculous. Nobody is wishing death on her. But the way she’s been acting lately, she seems to be wishing it on herself.

  21. lola lola says:

This has been her path for quite some time. And I seriously doubt she has any ‘insiders’ that care about her. She is probably their meal ticket and they don’t want the gravy train to end. I see an E True Hollywood story in the near future.

  22. Kelaa Khaa says:

Maybe Linds is a distant cousin to Keith Richards??? And she looks really pretty with her current hair color – it really suits her skin tone. I hope she can get herself out of this self destructive cycle. I know how that mind set is ’cause I have been down that path. If she could make one good decision, she might feel proud of herself and that might lead to another good decision and this is how she can leave this path.

  23. crewechick says:

Although I certainly don’t wish anything other than a successful recovery from addiction for Lindsay Lohan, her death will certainly strenthen my recovery.

  24. snap says:

the weak often cull themselves from the herd.

  25. PrettyTarheelFan says:

@ bellaluna-the tolerance level of a rolling stone just completely cracked me up.

  26. Rianna says:

Daddy Spears needs to come in and handle this hot mess before she OD’s in some night club like River Phoenix.
Daddy Spears would whip her ass into shape.

  27. canadianchick says:

Courts are too soft on her, she needs to go into the slammer after all her public violations of probation-that would be a good place to hit bottom, detox and try recovery again from a place of a little humility.

  28. fantastica says:

I was a drug addled train wreck in my early 20’s as were several friends, now we are 40 and survived. The only thing to say is that it continues because people give her so much attention for it. If people ever stop taking pictures of her everywhere she goes, she will be left with herself and that is what it takes to clean up.

Not to be all preachy but as older people we should just ignore her. I say this because I do wish her well and want her to survive and I remember what it was like to be out of control. BTW, when youre in it, talk of rehab and death and intervention type stuff, not so much….

  29. Susette says:

I wonder if one of the mystery people is Courtenay Semel. Weren’t there rumors a while back that she had gone to rehab and straightened herself out, and was now trying to get Lindsay to do the same?

  30. kiki says:

Hey has anyone noticed that the men that l.lohan dates end up dying and not her,I’m amazed she’s still standing saw a recent picture on DListed with her shoes covered in white powder.

  31. paranel says:

What a shame. She had a very promising start but went down from there . I hope she survives and overcomes her addiction. She can do it.

  32. Jag says:

I wonder about that place where she went to rehab. So many celebrities go there, and more than not relapse or are only sober for a very short time. Maybe she should go somewhere different next time. I hope she gets clean because she was a good actress and she’s quite pretty when she’s not a wreck.

  33. DoMaJoReMc says:

    @ Cheyenne:
NO TRUER WORDS HAVE EVER BEEN SPOKEN!!

  34. DoMaJoReMc says:

    @ CULT OF SKARO 23:
I don’t think anyone here WISHES death on LL. I think we are all just making the statement that, “WHEN she does succumb to, what eventually will be, her own demise…….”

I don’t like LL, but I don’t wish death on her. (It seems like she is wishing it upon herself, sadly enough.)

  35. DoMaJoReMc says:

    @ Cheyenne:
I saw your post AFTER I posted my reply to Cult of Skaro 23. I guess great minds think alike!

    @Pat:
“..isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be….” now that is a CHOICE selection of words.

    @canadianchic:
It is so true about the court system. Why do these celebrities get off so easy? Who is her probation officer? Why isn’t she being given the consequences of her actions? I agree that if she were put in jail, she would have no choice but to dry out, and yes with some humility.

Heaven help the girl (if she only had something to believe in.)

  36. Whatever says:

Honestly, I’ve been expecting to read that she ODed for the past year. Sad and not wishing it on her, but she looks so old, tired and gray. You can almost see the angel of death circling around her. I hope she cleans up before it is too late.

  37. Leek says:

    Fantastica — I agree 100%

  38. JuiceinLA says:

What really bugs me is that I am not sure how much shock I will end up having on the day ya’ll report she has died…What I mean is that I feel numb to her continued trials and tribulations, and the overexposure has made her less human and more plasticine, celluloid…She’s completely unsympathetic -and that is the only thing that truly makes me sad, because one, a long time ago, she had such potential.

To be sure my attitude is a failing on my part, but how can anyone claim- at this point- that they are going to be surprised when she dies?
