The Kelly Clarkson Show debuted in September 2019 as a lead-in for Ellen and later took over its time slot after it went off-air. Since then, the show has won 24 Daytime Emmys, including for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series and Outstanding Talk Show Host. It’s also won People’s Choice Awards, GLAAD Media Awards, Critics’ Choice Awards, and more. TKCS frequently trends on social media thanks to the “Kellyoke” segment, where Kelly does a cover of a popular song and absolutely crushes it. Sadly, all good things must come to an end. On Monday, Kelly announced on Instagram that The Kelly Clarkson Show is ending this fall after seven seasons on air.
“I have been extremely fortunate to work with such an outstanding group of people at ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show,’ both in Los Angeles and New York,” Clarkson, 43, wrote. “There have been so many amazing moments and shows over these seven seasons. I am forever grateful and honored to have worked alongside the greatest band and crew you could hope for, all the talent and inspiring people who have shared their time and lives with us, all the fans who have supported our show and to NBC for always being such a supportive and incredible partner.”
Clarkson went on to share that the decision will allow her to “prioritize” her kids. “This was not an easy decision, but this season will be my last hosting ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show,’” she wrote. “Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives.”
The conclusion of The Kelly Clarkson Show comes months after the death of the host and musician’s ex-husband, talent manager Brandon Blackstock, in August due to cancer. Clarkson shares daughter River Rose, 11, and son Remington Alexander, 9 with her late ex-husband.
The Kelly Clarkson Show will continue airing through Fall of 2026, and will feature a slate of special guest hosts. Clarkson added that “This isn’t goodbye” and confirmed she has plans to continue releasing music and appearing as a judge on The Voice.
“For now, I want to thank y’all so much for allowing our show to be a part of your lives, and for believing in us and hanging with us for seven incredible years,” Clarkson concluded in her statement.
Well, Justin Guarini has the chance to do the funniest thing right now, and you just know that Clay Aiken has already texted his agent 30 times over. Jokes aside, I have no doubt that Kelly prioritizes her children. She’s a good mom and they’ve been through much over the last year with the loss of their dad. Her own life has also changed so much since the show’s debut, too. That said, I’m curious what else Kelly’s got going on or lined up other than The Voice that would make her give her a successful talk show and stable gig that allows her to film during the day. She will be missed, though. Dare I say…daytime will suck without her. I wonder who will replace her in that time slot.
I am going to miss Kellyoke! Kelly leaves me in awe every single time she sings, whether it’s a planned cover or an off-the-cuff harmonization with one of her guests. Now who’s going to introduce some of her viewing demographic to current pop music that they probably otherwise would not have gotten to know?! Someone once earnestly stated on social media that Kelly’s American Idol win is one of the only examples in modern-day history when Americans came together and agree that we got it right on the first vote. This observation lives rent free in my mind because it’s so right. Wishing Kelly and her children all the best.
Kelly Clarkson has announced she's ending her talk show… much to the relief of every other musician who can confidently release new music again without living in fear of Kelly singing a superior version of their song.

My kids are the same age as hers, and she’s making a great decision. They’ve been through so much over the past few years, and especially since her ex (an a hole but still their dad) passed.
Also, she’s always had good money ideas, I think her situation with her ex was partially so painful because financial security is important to her and he messed with the money bad.
I just remember a quote from her early in her career that she wanted to make enough money to own some land and a home base, and put the rest away so if she ever needed to she could just step away and be fine. I wish her and her kids well, and I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t see her for 5 or so years.
Yeah I wondered about the financial angle, she had horrors with her ex but hopefully she’s now in a position where she can keep her family in a good position and do work she loves as much or as little as she wants alongside time with her kids.
I’m sure she’s doing the bestndor herself and her kids. That said, Kellyoke will be sorely missed.
