Sarah Ferguson checked into an expensive Swiss wellness clinic for a month

It’s very likely that Prince Andrew’s ex-wife and two daughters were all out of the country when he was arrested last Thursday at Wood Farm in Norfolk. We already heard, in real time, that Princess Beatrice was on vacation with her husband and children in Palm Beach, Florida last week. On Friday, the day after Andrew’s arrest, Hello Magazine exclusively revealed that Princess Eugenie was also out of the UK last week – Eugenie, Jack Brooksbank, their two sons, a nanny and some friends were all vacationing at a resort in Gstaad, Switzerland. We still don’t know if Beatrice & Eugenie plan to stay away from the UK or if they have returned after the school holiday. As for Sarah Ferguson… well, she’s been in the wind for months. We’ve heard that she was on a ski trip with friends, then we heard that she was hiding out in Qatar, looking to make some money and that she was and is “in a bad way.” Now the Daily Mail says that right after Christmas, Sarah skipped off to Switzerland as well, and she checked into an expensive wellness clinic for a month or longer.

Sarah Ferguson checked herself into the most expensive wellness clinic in the world as details about her close friendship with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein ruined her, the Daily Mail can reveal. The former Duchess of York, 66, fled the UK as she and her ex-husband became embroiled in the growing Epstein scandal which culminated in his arrest on Thursday.

While Andrew was photographed repeatedly in Windsor and then on the Sandringham estate, Ms Ferguson has not been seen in public since her fleeting appearance at her granddaughter Athena’s Christening at St James’s Palace on December 12. This prompted global speculation about where the former royal has been living – and the Daily Mail has now established that, for much of the time, she has been sheltering in a famous Swiss clinic.

Fergie secretly took refuge in the world-renowned £13,000-a-day Paracelsus Recovery Clinic in Zurich, Switzerland, over a month ago. A Swiss source told the Daily Mail: ‘Sarah left for Zurich just after Christmas, and stayed until the end of January. She always feels at home at Paracelsus, and knows she’ll get love and attention there, as well as expert health treatment when she’s feeling at her most vulnerable.’

The lakeside clinic offers several different month-long recovery programmes for ultra-wealthy clients. Individuals will have access to 15 medical experts, as well as a chauffeur and a private chef.

Another friend in Switzerland told the Daily Mail Ms Ferguson – a regular Paracelsus client – was said to have been ‘absolutely crushed’ by the email exchanges being publicly released. The friend said: ‘Sarah has built up a strong relationship with Paracelsus, so it was the obvious place for her to get away from everything.’

Following the prolonged stay at the clinic, thought to have lasted several weeks, the globe-trotting former royal is subsequently thought to have spent time in both the French Alps and the United Arab Emirates.

As I said last week, I’m shocked by Sarah’s good fortune and good sense at this moment – to get out while the getting is good, ensuring that she’s nowhere near England as the sh-t hits the fan, that’s surprisingly wise from a woman who has never shown that kind of wisdom before. Did she get a tipoff? Or is it just a coincidence that she was holed up in Switzerland when the Epstein Files dropped at the end of January? It’s certainly not a coincidence that she’s been in the wind ever since those emails revealed the extent of her sleazy, ridiculous relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. Also, if this Swiss resort really is expensive & elite, that probably answers the question of “what happened to Sarah’s money?” It would not surprise me at all if she had already blown through millions of dollars in the past three months or so.

Incidentally, Tom Sykes made an interesting point on his Royalist Substack – that King Charles could and should “order” Sarah to return to the UK for police questioning, and that if Sarah doesn’t return, the monarchy can completely cut ties with her (and hang as much of this around Sarah’s neck as they can). The thing about that though… from what I’ve seen, the British police haven’t said that they’re investigating Sarah in particular, nor have they notified anyone that Sarah is WANTED for questioning or an interview. Still, it’s a weird sideshow for the monarchy, to have Sarah out there, doing god knows what with god knows who.

  1. Hmmm…. I thought she was desperate for money and needed to work yet she can afford such an expensive place for her”wellness”? I read that she is a big fan of the place and may have done some advocating for the place but who is footing the bill? Is the place just letting her not pay because of her advocacy for the place or has she found someone to pay the bill? Hmmm…

    • ELX says:

She may or may not actually be at that expensive clinic, but she is probably going to do her best to stay in Switzerland and avoid extradition, because the more the police dig, the more they’ll find.

    • Lorelei says:

I feel like this is one of those situations in which the person crying poverty genuinely believes it, but if peasants like us ever got a look at her finances, we’d all think she’s doing fine. Certainly compared to most of the world.

She isn’t AS wealthy as she used to be, so for her, it’s a crisis, but clearly she’s okay if she’s staying at this place.

  2. Inge says:

HOW does she pay for all this?

    • Carol Mengel says:

What a POS this woman is. She’s vulnerable? What about Epstein’s victims? Has she offered any kind of apology to them? But instead she’s blowing through any money she has left at this wellness clinic she so desperately needs. She’s pathetic.

    • Eurydice says:

Yes, that’s over half a million dollars for one month. She has a reputation for not paying her bills – someone else must be covering this.

      • Christine says:

I REALLY want to know what anyone is getting out of helping her, at this point. I am completely baffled, there is no way back for her.

      • Smart&Messy says:

Maybe Andrew and Sarah being out of funds all the time is a big fat lie. What if they have the same off shore accounts hidden away just like QE2… and you know KC and Peg too. If anyone says that out loud about Sarah and Andrew, people might start digging in Panama again.

  3. ABCD says:

Who else thinks that this is the same clinic that Kate was rumored to stay at?

  4. PunkyMomma says:

My take is that she has the goods on someone very high up with very deep pockets, has a kill switch in place, and is going to continue to bankroll via blackmail—it’s the only grift she has left.

She also has shown a bit of her hand in managing to be out of the country when Andrew was arrested. Sarah appears flighty, but I think she’s a bit sharper than that—she excels at talking out of both sides of her mouth at once (listen to the convoluted explanation of her divorce she gave to Oprah).

  5. kelleybelle says:

Odd move for someone who “needs to get back to work because I need the money” … very odd. I’d say she’s just hiding.

  6. Dee(2) says:

Where is she getting the money to pay for this stuff? I can’t imagine that they are comping her stay because she promotes them, if there is ever a spokesperson that you don’t want to have association with right now it would be her.

Also I think she just has a savvy knack for protecting her own neck. Better than us she knows exactly what she said, and what is possible to be exposed about her. She also has to realize that what she thought was buried all these years is probably going to make its way into the public sooner rather than later. So, as I said when we thought that she was in the UAE last week she’s probably figuring out who she still have connections with that she can get to pay her way, and plans to stay out of the UK for the foreseeable future.

She isn’t living with Andrew, and her kids come to the Middle East all the time. She really has no reason to go back to the UK.

  7. Tessa says:

    Did she borrow money again?

  8. FYI says:

My god. The place costs $125,000 per WEEK. I guess this is how she’s been spending all that money — on crap like this.

  9. KC says:

I despise this woman. She’s like gum on the bottom of a shoe. Nasty, picks up dirt and you can’t shake her off. She’ll probably out-survive all of them…like a cockroach.

    Mixing metaphors today.

  11. Lis says:

As a cranky chronically ill lady, f her.
Why can’t normal citizens have that kind of health care.
I’m over these elite billionaires, they need to be taxed out of existence.

  12. QuiteContrary says:

I hope that spa got her payment up-front.
